I'm an indie author from the UK, who writes contemporary and paranormal M/M romance. My books have flawed characters, happy endings, and lots of heart.
Seb, Matt, and Connor have been best friends since childhood, and the book is pretty much exactly as it is described...a sweet, warm, romance between the three best friends finding their way toward love together. It starts with Seb, who is recovering from a break-up with the man he spent 5-years of his life with, and he thought loved him.
One night while staying with one of his friends, he drunkenly kisses them both. It should have come off as just friendship, but it came from such an obvious depth of love that it couldn't be mistaken for anything but deep, genuine, love. The three guys decide that they need to have a mature adult conversation about not only their feelings, but also their fears. There was zero toxic masculinity here, not even from the thought to be straight friend. Of course, the usual various complications are on the forefront... the lack of sexual experience, parental reactions, and one of the friends fear that he might experience the same illness that took his mother too young. Again, the characters handle these issues with maturity, love, and support.
A dark moment really made me fear for two of the characters, but in the end, it serves to bring them closer together and cement the love they share. The element I particularly appreciated about this book is that beyond Seb, who has been an out gay man since high school, the story places little emphasis on having Matt or Connor having to put a name on their own sexuality. Ultimately, the love each man has for his best friends evolves into something more, and that’s all that mattered....so no labels needed. The story is nicely built on the sweet and sometimes funny romance featuring three equally sweet and funny guys. Ultimately, the book lived up to every expectation that I had. I have read several other books by this author, and I certainly look forward to many more.
I liked this study of three best friends realizing they are more than buddies. The ending is a big surprise, that cements their bond. All about 30, our guys have been best friends in the UK, since childhood. Life's strife is wearing on them, plus Seb's break-up, so they plan a camping trip. Drunken Seb, shares his love for his pals, and seals it with a kiss for each. Connor has wanted these men for a long while, but why didn't he speak up before this? Matt, Software Engineer, a tall teddy bear with dark hair, is straight, is shaken by the kiss, and he's feeling like he's been awakened and wants more. Connor, Mechanic, light brown hair, a virgin, must have feelings for who he wants and is hesitant because of factors from his Mom's death. He's a caretaker of the guys. Seb, a Lawyer, a dedicated friend, of Mediterranean decent, was dumped and needs a place to stay, but is afraid their three-way attraction will be temporary. They already love each other, but the physical loving is moving forward, and each guys pace is different, yet exciting. We get a lot of intense inner thoughts, small steps into hot sexiness, and later, magnificent ménage scenes, plus, we see long conversations, frankness, passion and realities. This dynamic story has a mishap near the end, that rocks everyone.
Love is found between the pals, and it's how it is dealt with that matters. The MCs are smart, successful men, who have always stuck by each other. This tale is well done. ENJOY ! =====
Collette Davison’s I Wished For You is the story of three longtime friends who discover their love for each other is just what they each need to move forward in their lives.
Matt is the steady man in the group, but looking for something steady in his life - wishing for a partner who will be as committed as he wants to be.
Dumped by his longtime boyfriend, Seb is nursing his wounds and wishing for something better than this.
Connor, after caring for his senile mother, has sworn off love and relationships - but he is wishing his life could be different.
When the three men share a kiss on a campout it brings up all kinds of emotions and starts a chain reaction which changes their lives forever.
A new narrator for me, Piers Ryman’s performance is wonderful in I wished For You. With three very distinct voices for three very different men, Mr. Ryman imparts very distinct personalities into each of these guys. Between the lighthearted moments and the heartrending ones, there are a host of human experiences in between and here is where this narrator truly shines.
an audiobook copy of I Wished For You was provided by the author for the purpose of my review
3.5-4 stars for me. This was a sweet throuple romance, with one character who just recently had a bad, unexpected breakup, and his two friends - one who has only had flings with women, and one who has little to zero experience dating either women or men.
I enjoyed most how strong the friendship was between Seb, Matt, and Connor. They all knew each other so well, they could tell when it felt like things were changing. I love some of their banter, and how they approached being in a relationship.
The last 20% of the story was a bit of a...unexpected surprise for me. Not sure how I feel about it. But overall, I love that it felt like no one was a third wheel in this relationship, and I loved the connection the three had when they were together.
This book was a cute MMM book with not a whole lot of angst to it. Just three best friends trying to navigate their feelings for each other and work them into a relationship with all three people. The characters were cute; Seb was my favorite.
They all have their issues and some baggage. We get to experience all kinds of emotions and some snarky banter between the characters but overall the story stays on the sweeter side. And we also get to see a different point of view from all three men, and I appreciated that about this book, because with more than just two characters, they all really need to stand out.
And, OK, I normally I really love MMM books, and this one was written well, but there were a few things that for me specifically didn't seem to mesh out well and work for me in the plot lines. The pacing is a little on the slow side; I definitely think that the storyline could have moved along a little faster or that some added drama might have made it not seem so slow.
Part of the time the characters didn't seem to have an equal three-way relationship. I mean, it all starts with some kissing while they're drunk. Which is totally fine. But there's some things that for me didn't seem like they were all on equal footing. I mean why are Matt and Connor keeping stuff from Seb? And, Connor wants both men, but is super hesitant and slow about making things happen for the three of them. Matt is all in when it comes to being with guys, but still isn’t down to try everything. I mean that's OK, everyone has different likes/dislikes but I thought closer to the end that because he was all in for the relationship he would be "all in" if that makes sense?!? (which it totally might not).
I did think that some of the twists in the book made this story more believable and were totally what saved me from not liking it at all. I really wanted to LOVE this one, but in the end I just thought it was OK for a first read by this author. I am curious to see what else Colette Davidson has written, and I will probably check out a MM pairing from this author in the future to see how that goes.

This was fantastic! An emotional rollercoaster of finding love and trust. Without being overly angsty or anything like that. There was some twists and turns but they stayed collected through all of it and made it work together.
This was a 5 star read for me through it all until the twist in the end. I wasn’t a fan of that one. But overall, this was just amazing.
This was exactly what a sweet, friends to lovers MMM romance should be. It was real and raw and powerful. I loved it!
Seb has just been dumped after 5 years. All he wants to do is get drunk with his best friends and numb the pain.
Matt is a straight man, looking for love, wanting a committed relationship.
Connor is in love with his best friends, but a relationship with anyone is out of the question. He fears for his long term health and doesn't want to burden anyone else with 'what if'.
My favorite part of this MMM story was that it was real. It wasn't easy. Nothing was automatic, especially in the bedroom, and each of the men had their own unique hangups. They went slow and the love they had for each other surpassed any questioning thoughts.
Each of the three characters were so very different and brought different qualities to the relationship that just solidified their bond. I loved them all, but Matt just tugged at my heartstrings. He was so open and honest and loving. It was beautifully done.
Piers Ryman as a narrator was perfect. All three voices were unique and full of feeling. I felt as though I was there with them, not just hearing the words out loud. The narration was engaging and full of life.
I wholeheartedly recommend this and give it all the stars.
High hopes, left a bit down, I love the idea of a MMM and it was written well in the end .. I just had issues with Matt and Connor, I get people have issues, etc. and their past can cause issues in a relationship but I just got a bit annoyed with the banter. I loved Seb, however, Seb is my spirit animal and I'd honestly read the book again just to get more of him... still.. I was a bit let down by the book
After reading this story, I have mixed feelings on it. I’m not sure how to describe my feelings on it. I liked how Con, Seb and Matt went from friends to lovers but some things just didn’t work for me. Maybe I needed more angst and less sweetness, I’m not sure.
I give this book 3 uncertain stars.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
This is a new to me author. I’ve never read anything by her. So I didn’t know what to expect. This book was ok. The characters were likable. I think the main thing stopping me from fully loving it was that pace of the book. It was extremely slow. Now, I’m not expecting these men to just jump right into bed with each other right away. But.... speed things along a bit.
Seb wanted both Matt and Conner. He was happy to explore this new relationship with his friends. He didn’t want to push them to fast. He knew Matt had never been with a man before and he knew Conner needed a lot of space and time. To be open and relax with them. My main problem was with Conner. Things with him were so slow. It was hard for me to connect with him. Up until the 50% mark. Matt and Seb have been the only ones to do stuff sexually with each other. It got old and frustrating.
Matt to me seemed to jump head first into things with Seb sexually. He questioned a lot internally. But always went ahead and did it. He was willing to give certain things a chance. I really liked that about him. Because he was being open and present with both Seb and Conner. I just didn't like how he wouldn't do certain things. he didn't want to try all things. especially towards the end up the book. I though by then he would have loosened up a bit. But... nope.
Things didn’t move for me with Conner until the 55%. And that’s just way to long. Plus too, I didn’t like how Matt and Conner lied to Seb about what they did together. Why lie? To me... it just made things seem divided.
Idk... this book just never grabbed my full attention. Like I wanted it to. I wanted to feel all the feelings of a new relationship. I didn’t really feel that. You would think that since they all knew each other since childhood they would be a lot more open faster then they were.
Overall... this was a ok read.

Full audio review coming soon. 9/9/19 Well, this is a bit embarrassing. Goodreads just notified me that several people liked my review of this book but all I had posted was "Full audio review coming soon." Obviously, I forgot to come back here and post my full review although I did review the audiobook on Audible and Amazon back in June. So I'm here now to correct my oversight and post my review. :-)
Overall 4 stars, Performance 5 stars, Story 4 stars
This is the second audiobook I've listened to by Piers Ryman. I think he did a really good job with this one. The voices he used are heavily accented but I'm not exactly sure which British accent it is. It's a bit different from what I'm used to but easy and pleasing to listen to once I got used to it.
This is the second book I've read by Colette Davison and I liked it a lot. I Wished for You is about three good friends who unexpectedly discover that they feel more than friendship for each other. Friends-to-lovers is one of my favorite tropes and this one was very good.
Each of the MCs in the story has their own problem but they support each other and work well as a unit once they admit their feelings for each other. They have to deal with the usual coming out as a thruple things but they also have to deal with a separation of several months. Just when everything seems like it will be OK, tragedy strikes. It's a romance so I was pretty certain there would be an HEA and there was.
Overall this was an easy to listen to story, it kept my interest and I enjoyed it.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
This was a great read about three best friends since grade school. Each has their issues. But in the end their friendship was strong enough to survive anything and the love they have for one another may just turn from the love of a friendship to the love between men. Only time will tell. Colette did a great job of writing this book. Once you think that everything is on track to these men ending up together, then there is a couple of twists thrown in that make you wonder all over again if they are meant to be only friends or if they were meant to be more.
Seb, Matt, and Connor have knew each other since grade school. When they met they became best friends almost immediately. When one of them needed the other two, they was there no questions asked. Connor’s mother died when he was sixteen and he had his father not only walk out of his life once but twice. The second time being right after his mom passed away. But the one thing he was able to count on was his two best friends Seb and Matt.
Through each heart break Matt has endured by different woman and now through Seb’s Heartbreak from his five year relationship to Craig, these men have always had one another’s back no questions asked. One calls and the other two come running. So after the breakup from Craig, Seb found his self in need of a place to stay. Both Connor and Matt offered him a place to stay so Seb ended up at Matt’s place since it had an extra bedroom.
When Seb begs Matt and Connor to get away with him the weekend after the break up, both men agree even though they would rather not be camping in November. But again when one needs them, they are there for them no questions asked.
This camping trip turns out to be a huge turning point in their friendships and also some major revelations for each of these men. What will happen when one or all of the men start to look at one another in a new light? Is this bound to ruin their friendships or is this just a natural progression where here men are concerned?
This is a great read, like I said and do not be shocked when you think it is all coming together and a couple of twistscome about. Because of the twists that happens, it made this read that much more realistic. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more books by Colette in the future.

This is a very sweet and emotional journey for three best friends. Throughout the years, Matt, Seb, and Connor have been there for each other. No matter how hard life becomes, the three of them know they will be there. So when Seb's boyfriend of five years breaks up with him and orders him to move out (Craig is a jerk), he calls on his two friends. They help him move out and also agree to a camping trip in the middle of November, all to help cheer Seb up. Everything the trio knows goes out the window when they kiss.
I enjoyed the build up throughout the story, both of the friendship between the three of them but how they all, even Seb, come to terms with their feelings between them. Connor, never truly having a relationship before, and Matt, failing at every relationship he's tried to start with a woman are confused after they kiss. The confusion is real, but so is the internal debate each men have with themselves and the wished they have made. It's a truly wonderful exploration of what these men thought they knew and in the end, how they take a chance on each other. A great read!!
Three best friends, three wishes and two drunken kisses - does it make the friendship awkward or ignite the passion between the three...
This was a story of a friendship becoming more, new chances, new beginnings, new desires to explore. Overcoming fears and finding that love was right there all along.
My fave character was Connor. So sweet, shy and nervous. His first time was so incredibly beautiful to read! The emotion and chemistry you could feel poring off all of them during that scene really made this book!
This narrator was new to me, and I had a hard time with some of his voices, especially the whiny tones. I don't know if the author intended on as much whining as the narrator gave to the characters. The story was sweet, but I felt like something was missing and I can't put my finger on it.
I wanted to like this one a lot more than I did because I really enjoy this author. But this story, while touching and sweet, was too jumbled, too all over the place for me to thoroughly enjoy it. Matt and Connor were just so angsty and emotional and all over the place that it left me feeling dizzy. Seb was sweet but still, I kept wanting to shout at the pages 'enough with the inner dialogue, just talk to each other!' In the end, I still felt satisfied with how the story was written, even if I was a little more emotionally distant that I like to be from a story.

I'm torn about this one, I wanted to like it more. MMM stories are not easy to pull off and this one is fine but... just that. Fine. It's fine but a little too insta-love-ish for me. The long existing friendship between the 3 men didn't offer enough of a background for the instant, unconditional love that hit them all from one day to the next after that one kiss; couldn't buy it... and so from there it all fell flat. They are sweet, they are fun, caring, understanding, adorable really. But too late, the start felt a little too unrealistic and so I couldn't get into it. We're all different so other ppl will definitely appreciate this better and I'm good with that. This was just not for me...
I Wished For You by Colette Davison is a sweet story about three best friends who make wishes one night on a camping trip and discover that sometimes wishes do come true, even if it's not in the way they imagined. A drunken kiss shared, changes their relationship, but there are secrets that risk the happiness they could have together.
Matt, Seb and Connor are great characters. I fell in love with them and their story gave me the feels. I love throuple and especially when they are that perfect mix of best friend sweet and super hot sexy. Definitely a satisfying read.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
Also eigentlich hätte die Geschichte wirklich Potential gehabt. Leider etwas vertan.
An amazing love story of friendship, trust, and acceptance! I loved it!!
This was my book narrated by Piers Ryman and I thought he did a great job. Each character had a different tone/dialect and with the creations of these subtle differences the story comes alive and I could imagine each character clearly as they navigate their way through the story. I look forward to more from Piers is the future! Well narrated!!
From the start the characters in this story where totally loveable. Colette's writing style flowed effortlessly between the three main characters, their varying points of view, thoughts, and emotions. You can't help but feel for these characters and while so different they all have a strong sense of love and friendship.
This story follows life-long best friends; Seb, Matt and Connor and their surprising shift from friendship to lovers. I found this story believable and enjoyed each character's realization of their true feelings towards each other. I loved Seb's cheekiness, Matt's acceptance of his feelings and Connor's innocence. I loved the interactions between these characters as they come to terms while their new feelings and their progress into a new relationship. Together these men make a wonderful thruple and are hot as can be! I was enamored by these three and wish there was more of them! A truly wonderful work by Colette and I wished there was more of Matt, Seb, and Connor! I loved them!
This was fine. Maybe that's the word of the day. It's about a gay dude whose bf just broke up with him and his two best friends comfort him. They get drunk, shit happens, and then they all fall in love. It was fairly predictable and not all that special, which sounds bad, but maybe I'm just hyper critical today. It really was fine, I have nothing against this one and don't really have any problems with it. There's some stereotypical drama at the end that was rushed but that's expected in a short book. This wouldve been better with an extra 100 pages and more dialogue.
This is a beautiful story of friendship, love and taking chances. Friends since grade school, these three friends took their closeness to a whole new level. Conner is the care taker, Seb the cut up and Matt the big teddy bear. Seeing a different side of each other on a impromptu camping trip, changes their friendship forever. This is a beautifully crafted story about love, friends and forever. Oh and it's also, hot Hot HOT!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!!
I loved this book. I loved how a drunken kiss brought three best friends together into a relationship and their chemistry was hot. I read this book using the Kindle Unlimited program.

When Seb's longtime boyfriend broke up with him, it seemed that his whole world simply fell apart and he wouldn't be able to put it all back together. However, having his two best friends at his side, on whom he can always rely, he starts to get on his feet. During their camping trip, organized to improve Seb's mood, drunk Seb kisses Connor and Matt in a very meaningful way, turning their world upside down. The feelings for one another, which Matt and Seb haven't realized they have, begin to take shape, while Connor feels a strong need to get closer to his friends, to whom he has been attracted for quite a long time. But are they ready to risk their friendship, just because they want more from life and from one another?
"I Wished For You" is a truly wonderful novel, in which the advantages follow the advantages from the very beginning. The best proof is the fact that from the very first page the really well-presented theme of friendship comes to the fore. I really liked that in her book, Colette Davison showed us a group of three men who, regardless of any obstacles, can rely on one another in every situation and are bound together for good and for bad. What is equally important, when something bad happens to one of them, he immediately seeks for comfort and closeness of the others, and they appear on his call as soon as possible. Seb, Matt and Connor are such close friends that in the case of two of them, realizing their feelings, or more precisely love, takes a little more time. Thus, their friendship doesn't end with the moment they decide to start a love relationship, but it continues, which makes them friends and lovers at the same time. And let me add that the author managed to present it in a truly excellent and very clear way.
I also like the fact that in her novel, Colette Davison gives her main characters some time to get used to their feelings, as well as to the polyamori that they discover together. All of this is new for them, but it is worth noting that none of them rejects his feelings towards the other two men, only to fit into a familiar 1:1 scheme imposed by society and the world. What's more, in this way the author showed how natural for her characters it is to love one another, because just like mother doesn't think about which of her children she loves more, they also don't analyze their feelings to choose only one of their two beloveds. In addition, the three friends not only do not choose between one another, as they try to find their way in this completely new relationship at once, but they also try to fill their families and the people closest to them in on their love. I admit that it really captivated me because it emphasizes the strong intimacy between Seb, Matt and Connor.
It is also worth noting that "I Wished For You" concentrates also on a topic of the family, which has a very important place in the novel, as it directly influences our leads. The author presents three types of family. The first one: broken, absent, lost, the problems of which had a negative impact on the psyche of a young, sensitive and loving man. The second one: unconditionally loving and ready to support the child at any price, regardless of his age. And the third one: incomplete, in case of which loneliness is the reason for exerting pressure on a young man, trying to manage his life and sticking one's nose where it doesn't belong. As far as this last family model is concerned, the author focused not only on one of the main characters, but also on the evolution of a lonely mother, who – because of her fear of being lonely and her pain – is ultimately forced to open her eyes, mind and accept her son's choices. Let's add that Colette Davison in a great manner combined the theme of the family with the subjects of polyamory, love, emotions and psyche of the three protagonists, thanks to which she created a truly amazing novel.
Finally, in a few words I would like to refer to "I Wished For You" as a whole, because this novel could be divided into two parts. To be honest, it took me by surprise as I did not expect it when reading this story, and I admit it had a huge impact on me. But let's go a bit slower and start with the fact that the first part of the book focuses on a really beautiful, charming and largely sweet story, which also has a very romantic side, which we find, for example, in the wishes on the falling stars. I love reading the novels which are extremely sweet, so I really liked this part of "I Wished For You". However, as we read, we reach the second half of the book, where the more touching subjects are raised, and which is even more accurate in terms of the characters' psyche than its first part. What's more, there are some moments, especially at the very end, when the novel simply makes us cry. I admit that I cried like a child and I couldn't understand how the author could have done it to me as my heart shattered to pieces. Luckily, I had a packet of tissues with me!
In conclusion, "I Wished For You" is a truly amazing novel that deeply moves the readers and immediately conquers their hearts and souls. The characters are charming and we fall in love with them in a blink of an eye, while their story makes us smile, moves us to tears, as well as makes us completely focused on it. To say that I recommend this novel to you is simply not enough. You must read it!

„I Wished For You” to prawdziwie cudowna powieść, w przypadku której zaleta goni zaletę, już od samego początku.
Uwielbiam słodycz w powieściach, które czytam, toteż ta odsłona „I Wished For You” naprawdę przypadła mi do gustu.
Podsumowując, „I Wished For You” to naprawdę cudowna powieść, która porusza czytelnika i w przeciągu jednej chwili podbija jego serce.
