I love creating unique characters, love giving them happy endings and I even love the voices in my head. There's no other job I would rather be doing. In September 2002, when I got the call that Silhouette Desire wanted to buy my first book, Desert Warrior, it was a dream come true. I hope to continue living the dream until I keel over of old age on my keyboard.
I was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. I also spent three years living and working in Japan, during which time I took the chance to travel around Asia. So....I’m in the minority here...but definitely not my favorite of the series.
Things were VERY slow to get going...there was a LOT of rehashing of some of the same information from previous books (Caliane leaving Raphael “broken” on the field all those eons ago, Raphael not being the same archangel who forced Elena to cut her own hand in book one, the deaths of Elena’s sisters in childhood - all mentioned MULTIPLE times...as they have been mentioned MULTIPLE times in all the previous books. Again.)...
Ambiguity. SO much ambiguity. Everyone and everything was constantly being changed and re-changed in unclear ways. All shrouded in mystery. All because...Cascade.
And then the battle. I was so excited to get there because it felt like it took SO long to finally get there...but I felt like it dragged on a little too long. Actually, I didn’t just feel that way. It DID. It dragged on way too long. I’m pretty sure Raphael and Lijuan had like ten million final showdowns. And by the 10 millionth showdown, it’s like, someone just fucking die already.
But whatever. I’m totally in the minority and probably have reading PMS. I’m just hoping that the next book is more...grounded. That the rules for this world become more clearly hewn like they were in the earlier books. Things were just too murky world-wise for me the last two books.

I honestly don't know how to review this book without giving spoilers so I'm deliberately going to keep this quite vague. What I will say is that Archangel's War was everything I could possibly have wanted after that killer cliffhanger ending to Archangel's Prophecy! Elena and Raphael are both changing in ways they never could have imagined but they are still the power couple we know and love who are more than capable of kicking butt and taking names.
You can probably guess from the title that war is coming and all I'm going to say about that is when it arrives it is EPIC. Her creepiness from China has levelled up in all kinds of horrific ways and it's going to take the entire Cadre, along with a few new and surprising allies who have awoken from sleep, to put a stop to her madness.
Archangel's War is fast paced, full of action and an edge of the seat sense of foreboding. There were fantastically sweet moments between some of my favourite side characters but I also shed a few tears too. This is the book we've all been waiting for since the beginning of the series, we've been building up to this moment for such a long time and I just can't wait to see where Nalini Singh takes us next. I love this world as well as all of the characters and I'm so glad we don't have to say goodbye to it anytime soon!

So I'm somewhat mullified with the ending but boy did this book drag way too much.. Mostly all I kept thinking was
See how many gifs I found? Triple that and that's how many times I thought about Lijuan dying. The beginning meandered a bit, we had repetitions that I felt were not necessary. I get the repetitions were to set the scene and tie it with new events but they felt mostly fillerish. The battle with Lijuan got to be annoying from a certain point onwards.
I love Nalini Singh's writing and I love Elena's and Raphael's relationship, I loved that we saw a tiny bit of everyone but other than that I felt a bit let down.. Though that can be because of my stupid book funk.. Who knows?

Oh wow! More than I could have hoped for.
One of my all time favorite power couples is KICKING ASS!!!
Archangel's War is from beginning to end action packed. The many different plots boggled my mind. The execution was masterful. With amazing precision, each and every plot, scene and chapter was perfectly interlaced to deliver an amazing end result.
Honestly, I was blown away by how intricate this book was.

Elena and Raphael have been one of my most favorite power couple of all time. The development of either character and their dynamic as a couple has progressed so much over the years. After so many books, it feels like I know them personally.
Archangel's War is from beginning to end action packed. The many different plots boggled my mind. The execution was masterful. With amazing precision, each and every plot, scene and chapter was perfectly interlaced to deliver an amazing end result.
Honestly, I was blown away by how intricate this book was.
From Elena's evolution, to the Cadre, to Lijuan, it all fit together like puzzle pieces.
Archangel's War seamlessly connects with Archangel's Prophecy. Many questions were answered, many more arose throughout the book. I can see how neither Elena's nor Raphael's journey is done, and definitely wonder what's coming next.
It's always a pleasure to revisit my favorite characters. Again I loved how every book in this series allows different supporting characters to shine. With a cast this big, it's wonderful to get to know different characters more deeply with each book. It was especially fascinating, that some of these characters went through some pretty interesting twists and changes.
I don't want to take anything away from the plot, all I will say is that this book is full of action, including a happy ending and the promise of lots more to come.

The last book was a total shocker for everyone and I absolutely cannot wait to read both these books back to back. It better be an Elena and Raphael book, or there defiantly will be some angry and disappointed readers.

The good news: this wasn’t as dumb as the previous book

Lijuan, the baddie who has refused to die for countless books makes yet another appearance and battling her this time takes literally 20 chapters. To say I was over it way before it ended is a vast understatement. I am definitely not in a rush to pick up the next book whenever it comes out.

Worth the wait? Yes!
If you are a fan of the series, you love Elena and Raphael as much as I do: with the burning love of a thousand suns. They are right up there with Roarke and Eve, along with these two:
The last book had some crazy, catastrophic stuff go down so I wasn't sure what changes we would see at the start of this. It turned out to be not as huge as I thought, but good. And, now it's time for that thing we have been waiting for: angel war.
Not fairies, angels. It's like you don't even get the story! Now, go kill some shit.
The villain has been pretty much the same person for most of the books. She's an angel that has decided she's a goddess, and like most gods, she wants to kill most of the population. I'm not really sure why this is a thing, but apparently it is.

Most of the book is battles so there is a lot of action going on. There was a lot of frustration for me because I felt like a lot of the decisions they made ("strategies" (yes, in quotes because they often sucked)) ... um, sucked.

I think these ancient immortal beings who had seen warfare for thousands of years really needed the help of a couple of teenage boys who play video games. Those kids could take over the world with their strategic minds - if they would leave their rooms and stop cursing each other out over the computer while they eat Doritos and drink all the Mountain Dew and Red Bull.
They might do it for the xp.
There are plenty of deaths in this book. I am really looking forward to what all of these changes will mean as the series goes on. Also, I will never give up my hunger strike until there is a Sparkle & Bluebell coupling. Okay, so I only gave up kale, but still.. it's the thought that counts. And, speaking of counting, now I get to count down the days, weeks, months, etc... until the next one.

This is the 12th installment in this series and it's still going strong. Can you believe it? In ARCHANGEL'S WAR Nalini Singh picks up seven months after the cruel cliffhanger she threw at us after which Raphael and Elena wake up fundamentally changed.
Elena P. Deveraux, Guild Hunter and consort to an archangel, was not about to let the Cascade twist her personality to bitterness and despair. She was going to fucking own this new chance at life.
You can't help but worry about them, how this will influence their relationship. Our favorite couple and the people close to them are going through a challenging time and the worst is yet to come. The first couple of chapters show us Raphael's anxiety, with him being not sure if Elena will be the same or if she has become the mindless power reservoir for the archangel that the Cascade intended for her to be. We follow Elena coming to terms with the loss of her wings and then evolving, finding her new powers and how she doesn't know how they are supposed to help her in the looming war.
"Wings do not make you my lover. That has always been your heart, your spirit, your courage—and your fury.”
And then there is the breathtakingly beautiful love between Raphael and Elena that just tugs at your heart. These two, gah. If there was ever a doubt (there wasn't) that they were supposed to be, Archangel's War will rid you of that.
We get to spend time with our favorites Bluebell, Aodhan, Venom and Dmitri. Don't you love Raphael's second and Elena's relationship and how they pretend that they hate each other but secretly totally dig one another? I do. Their banter is funny AF. I also loved to get a little more details about Montgomery and how Raphael accepted and even delighted in his butler's quirks.
War was a certainty.
This installment concludes Lijuan's story arch which culminates in a full blown war that plays out on the pages. While it is action packed I found that it went on a little bit too long and I found myself wishing for it to be over.
Nalini Singh's love for details is stunning - ARCHANGEL'S WAR just shows how much thought has gone into this world, how complex and flawlessly designed it is. And let's not forget this author's remarkable and exquisite writing style and storytelling - that alone makes this book worth reading and I marked so many passages, I'm sad that I can't quote all of them here.
He brushed his hand over the near-white silk of her hair, what he felt for her such a huge violence inside him that it had no name. “To the end and beyond, hunter-mine.”
So now that this story arch is over I'm a little directionless. I know there is still a lot to tell about the vast cast of this series but the author doesn't give us much to speculate. We still have to see Bluebell fall in love and find his match and then there is broken and sweet Aodhan, who needs someone to make him a little less broken. However, I have no clue what is going to happen next so I hope Nalini Singh writes fast because I CANNOT WAIT to find out what she has in store.

EPIC.
This is THE book, guys.
This is the one I was waiting for a long time.
This is the Endgame movie, The Heart of Obsidian of Guild Hunter series.
The one that finally changes status quo for real and for good.
Everything that was happening since Uram gave way to his bloodlust and went psychopath,through Cascade being the pain in everyone's ass and Elena's mysterious illness... everything was building toward this book.
The story opens right after that cruel cliffhanger Nalini dropped on us at the end of Archangel's Prophecy with Elena and Raphael being trapped in weird, lightning cocoon after Raphael literally gave her the part of his heart (cute, but also creepy which is I guess a norm when you're dating an immortal being). They wake up not knowing how cascade, new heart and Cassandra's prophecy affected Elena and what she became.
At the same time, Cascade is out of control with earthquakes, storms, floods and not letting some ancient tired people sleep... it's chaos all over the world and it's the first time where we see members of Cadre actually keeping their territory in more proactive way, and not just in name. World is in peril and there is no time for petty politics and usurping current territorial status- everyone is dealing with their own problems.
But all of that is nothing compared to what's coming for all of them from China.
It's death. And nobody is safe.
The book starts a bit slow and it starts accelerating and suddenly so many things was happening I was gasping several times. I am trying to avoid spoilers before book release, but there are so many iconic moments!
-Elena: Ok, I called it after finishing Archangel's Prophecy: Nalini had to change something about Elena to make her relevant in the sense of power for an upcoming war. When this immortal society is built upon hierarchy defined by power, why would I believe that heroine, who we are repeatedly told is in terms of power equal to newborn angel, be a force to be reckoned with, an important cog in state of the matter. Just because she is a main character or one of the most powerful players in the story loves her? Nah, Nalini always wrote her to be a warrior, his equal in everything that's happening and when it comes to war, we needed to see that, needed it to be more than just words. We needed it materialized in some way. Nalini found a way and it's very neat how it all comes together at the end. Elena's and Rafael's relationship is one of the strongest parts of this series and I appreciated the way Nalini handled this because it also makes sense and keeps the ballast of romance part: powerwise, they are not even close in their respective positions. Raphael is a true soldier here, a warrior but also strategic and kudos to Nalini for actually showing this. I loved everything about archangels in war. He creeps into overpowered trope a bit, but I was not bothered because it's Nalini's archangels. It's just how they roll.
-there is a scene where Calliane is talking about Nadiel, Raphael's father and it was so lovely and sad, and I kind of want to read their story now, tragic end and all and cry.
-You know who was immediately my favorite, first time I met him? Illium. I wanted more of him. Then Nalini teased all about Hummingbird, his ascension and I wanted his book. Then everything with Aodhan happened and I wanted his book more than anyone else's. Than this book happened and DEAR GOD WHY IS SHE TORTURING ME BECAUSE I NEED HIS BOOK. Illium is precious and must be protected by all means.
-More. Archangel. Drama Queens. They are ridiculous and I love them. Look, with passing time they definitely develop a penchant for dramatic entrances and theatrical statements. I don't care if it's written somewhere or not, it's a cannon.
-Thank you Nalini for writing a scene with Jason and Elena! :wipes away a tear: I know I'm an outlier in this, but Jason's book was one of my favorite. He is a rare bread in pnr, a quite, in the background, non-intrusive hero. I loved his book and I appreciate him more and more with each reread.
-Michaela! Now what?
-Favashi! And Africa! Now what?
-Aodhan.
I had a needling feeling first time we met a certain character she is going to be paired with Aodhan and how Nalini positioned it, I'd say it's definitely where we are going. I am not a fan of this idea at this point, but I'll wait and see. I am cool with everything, but I'm not objective when it comes to Bluebell and Sparkle. I just want their stories to be handled well.-Also, Ash being the queen of cryptic statements.
-And honestly, we need to see more of female archangels in warrior gear: Neha can totally put Taylor Swift to shame with her costumes.
You know when you finish a book and have a feeling like author wrote it specifically for you? I had this feeling. I like reading romance, but I was always obsessively focused on worldbuilding in Nalini's books and overreaching arc and this book delivers on so many levels. I want to know all about territorial disputes, about how this system with angels, vampires and humans supposed to work, what happens if Cadre is not in balance... Hell, I was expressing my doubts about Cascade showing signs of being sentient in my review of previous book- and Nalini directly addresses this!
It's also a book finally dealing with conflict on a large scale and in such an interesting, rich setting: large scale thrives. Everything gets to the level of epic with memorable scenes and powerful resolution, but never losing what's familiar in her books: a sense of camaraderie, love and unity between her characters I came to care so much for.
Easy 5* for me!

Look, Nalini sticks to established rules of her world, that's her thing. If she's going to throw these crazy powerful archangels, fickle Ancients* and sentient Cascade at Elena, and keep the already established fact that in terms of power she is still a baby angel and that it will take years for her to grow into form to fight other angels, we needed for something to happen. I expect her to transform into superbadass angel and starts taking names on her own, so she'll finally have a body and strength that fits her will to protect those she love.
*"Archangels continue to dial upon the creepy when they want to deliver a message. Volcanoes and murmurations is just the level of drama I want and expect from them."- this is from my review of previous book, and honestly, it says pretty much everything I think about the lot.

So much riding on this book and it did not disappoint!
The more I read of Raphael and Elena the more I love and admire these characters. Elena was a fierce warrior in this. Actually, she has been a fierce warrior in all the books. I love the way she has stayed true to herself and still evolved. She is one of my favorite heroines.
The way Raphael fights to stay a little bit human for Elena, even knowing that is considered a weakness to others, shows a man who loves his woman to the fullest. Out of all the Archangel's he seems to be one who is feared by many and yet he has such compassion for others. It's a deadly combination.
So many characters come out for this book, old and new. So much action took place that will make your head spin. So many nail biting moments. It was epic! There was not a cliffhanger but I also have no idea what to expect next. All I know is that I could read about these characters and never tire of them.

Wow, let’s just say this book is exhausting, especially the last 30%. Of course, Li Juan is up to no good, and by the end, she was plucking my last nerve.
I adored Raphael and Elena, especially their growth of their relationship and powers. The only minor niggle I had was the introduction, of let just say new characters. I couldn’t keep up with everyone. All in all, I really enjoyed this one and it looks like another story is coming up in soon.
Highly recommend, put it part of a series (book 12) so you must start from the book 1

So, I've now read Archangel's War three times since it's release in September 2019.
I enjoyed reading the story the first time because of how the previous book ended Archangel's Prophecy (Holy friggn cliffhanger, Batman!) and I couldn't wait to see where the author was going to take the series after THAT ending.
But, this re-read was so much better.
I picked up a lot more of the hints and clues that were mentioned in the previous books that lead to the build-up and ending of this story arc.
Well Done!
I can't wait to see where the series and the characters go from here.
As of now, the author has committed to writing three more books in this series with her publisher (I personally hope for more.)
Ms. Singh has created a wonderfully fantastical, cruel world which consists of Archangel's who are so "other", angels, vampires, and mortals who are mere tokens to play within the battle for balance and power.

I have three words for you:
IMMORTAL FIGHT CLUB
Oh. My. God. That was fucking epic! Currently sitting at 471 pages, this book is a beast that is impossible to put down. I read it straight through and didn't get to sleep until 6am. I'm reading the last few pages and hearing the morning birds chirping thinking "Oh, I could definitely go another 400 pages."
Oh gosh, how to review it without ruining a single thing. I'm not even sure I can and I'm also jacked on caffeine. Let's see...
We start the story a little bit before the end of the previous book, Elena is still becoming and things don't look great. Thankfully, Raphael saves the day and things are looking up. Then they're looking down because there are suddenly a whole lot of archangels around that weren't around before and shouldn't be around now. But are they here to make things better or worse? Both! *squees*
They aren't joking when they named this book "Archangel's War" because the war takes up a majority of the book. This could have turned into a slog, but the action keeps moving, more information is revealed, and you don't even realize you've read 30 chapters of fighting until it's over. New York takes a beating like never before and Elena, Raphael, Illium, Aodhan, Dmitri, and their fellow angels, vamps, and hunters are scrambling to defend their people from the Archangel of Death's shocking surprise assault. That bitch just needs to die, okay? She's extra creepy in this book.
My favorite part was also the biggest surprise: I hope you're all ready to finally learn about the Hummingbird! And for anyone reading this afterwards, are you looking forward to that asshole getting lit up by Illium's Cascade powers? I AM! Don't let me down, Nalini! Oh oh oh! And good luck keeping your hate-on for Michaela after you see her in action in this book. Oh man, I hope we get Aodhan's backstory next time. How long is the wait for the next book?
Hands down the best installment of this series. It was exactly what I needed after the gut punch of "Archangel's Prophecy" and I will never be more Ride or Die for a group of fictional characters than I am for these folks. I'd read it over again today if I hadn't already procrastinated all day yesterday and stayed up all night. Maybe tomorrow?

The Guild Hunter series quickly became a favorite last year when I binge read all the Elena/Raphael books. The romance between Elena and Raphael has been electric and all-consuming, an epic love! They’ve come a long way over the series, and I love that they face each trial thrown their way together as a united front. This is a series that needs to be read in order, the Elena/Raphael books, at any rate. The others center on other couples and can be read on their own, IMO. While this is book twelve in the overall series, Archangel’s War is the seventh Elena/Raphael book.
I think fans will find this an exciting installment especially after the brutal cliffhanger we had with the last book. I know I was anxious to dive in and see how everything turned out! I think this book is better if you can set aside a chunk of time to really dig in and read. I had to stop and start a lot because of real-life and I think it impacted the flow a bit in the beginning. I don’t think I can comment on the plot much, because anything I said would be a spoiler, but I will say Archangel’s War was exciting, full of change and danger! Ancients awakening, joining the fray, and an epic battle that’ll have you worried for the fate of our favorite characters.
Loved learning more background on Illium “Bluebell” and his mother, Sharine “Hummingbird”, Aodhan with them. Izzy, Elena’s beloved “baby” angel and her younger sister Eve all have part in Archangel’s War. We even get a little more of Raphael’s mother, Caliane; her history and a bit of Raphael’s childhood, too. Also, more was revealed about The Legion, and I really have enjoyed seeing them evolve into more than just a uniform sort of collective with the help of Elena.
My review feels so lacking, because it’s impossible to say much that isn’t a spoiler, but it’s more than just the “read it!” I wanted to go with initially, so there is that!

Archangel’s War is book twelve in the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh.
In the last book we where left on a cliffhanger ending and the fate of Elena and Raphael was undetermined. I would definitely recommend reading this series in order.
This novel has many different POV’s at the begging and they revolve around Raphael and Elena who are the main couple of the Guild Hunter series even though we do get other couples featured throughout the series. It was great to get the different perspectives, but it also slowed the story down.
Raphael and Elena’s romance continues to develop and bloom even though we’ve technically seen many HEA for them. I enjoying seeing their growth and development.
We are also treated to many surprises in this novel and I’d love to tell you about them, but it’s more fun and exciting to be shocked. As for the end; where it goes from here is wide open. I’m curious to see what surprises, emotions, and adventure Nalini Singh will treat use to.
Narration: Justine Eyre continues to narrate this series and I love how she brings out the voices and emotions on each of the characters. I will say I’m glad I listened to this novel and didn’t read it. I feel if I’d read it would have taken me longer. Why I say this is because; this one was slow at the start and listening made the slowness of the beginning move along. Things didn’t pick up until war comes and that was maybe 80% in. I continue to enjoy the audio for the Guild Hunter series and highly recommend the audios.

One of the best books I've had the pleasure to read. Ever.
Perfect prose. Perfect action.
I don't tend to have my heart race anymore with action in movies or books...but this one? My pulse raced and I couldn't sleep after I finished it, as if my mind was still in the world and I needed to know what happens next.

This review is...quite unique-ish as in...nothing can be said, because near everything of Archangel's War is a huge, blaring spoiler. But the book was good, like, good good it will make you feel blessed you're alive now to read it.
So the review is pretty much...how one can not say anything and only the emotions the book evoked ;D

When Nalini said that she can't really give us any teasers before the books release except those few pages of the very beginning because anything else would pretty much spoil something...she was right. 100% correct. Boy, do I get it now.
And the whole purpose for a review is that people who have not read the book can decide after reading the review whether they want to read the book or not.
So - no spoilers whatsoever in this review:
Fear not! Archangel's War is a book you just not want to read, but MUST read if you're reading Guild Hunter series. Like, duh.
This is one book that can never be read as a standalone because 99% of it is a spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler. You get the gist. At the very least, read the previous Elena & Raphael's books.
And best of the best?
It was all we could've hoped for and more.
The fandom/readers wentslightly insane crazy after the end of the previous book - Archangel's Prophecy -(as one can see in my pre-release review part) and how could we not with THAT ending! Cliffiest cliffhanger ever!
We were ready to rebel just so that Nalini would write this one as Elena & Raphael's story.
And it lived up to it's hype, it suuuure did!

A fantastic and fabulous, completely exciting and thoroughly engagingaddition...nope, doesn't seem right...or maybe more like a...yup, this will do: culmination for the 1st chapter of Guild Hunter series that we love and adore so, so much.
It truly feels like first part of a grand play has come to an end and the curtain closed, but that only means we can get ready for the continuation and I most certainly look forward to it :)

Got to say that I am quite disappointed with this one. I could be mean and say it was near identical to where they were fighting Lijuan the first time in New York but I guess the author wanted to go with a extended development. The end of this book gives the world a clean slate as The Cascade is over. Which leaves us with things that need to be cleared up or can be expanded on. I am still waiting on a book with Sparkle and Bluebell. But Sparkle has gone off to China. What shall happen next?
A lot happens in this book with The Cascade coming to an end with Cassandra's Prophecy, Ancients waking, new powers being awakened. The story is engaging, captivating and Ms. Singh pulls you right into the thick of things but it could have been at least two fights shorter, 100 pages shorter as well IMO. I love coming back to this world to Elena & Raphael but it has been one time too many.

I don't know how to write this review without spoiling anything, and as this book is a COMPLETE GAMECHANGER for the series, I don't want to spoil even a little bit for you.
There was a little monotony in the battles in the second half, but all in all, great book and an excellent installment in the series. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book... which is hopefully the book I've been waiting for.

Super Wow! Beyond words EPIC! Loved Loved Loved everything that happened from the first sentence until the final one. Wished I could've given this book a couple millions stars. And wished I could go in details about all that I was so crazy in love with as well as all the twisted and turned of events that knocked me stunned speechless! I am so disappointed. I will tell you upfront, I am discontinuing this series. I have flat out, no doubt about it, had enough.
Enough repetitive thoughts.
Enough with the unnecessary elongated scenes.
Wordy scenes that lead nowhere.
Repetitive dialogue.
Started out well enough then the repetition started with same thoughts we have been bombarded with over and over in the book #11.
Then it got better with actual action then back again to repetitive thoughts and dialogue.
What finally had me at my wits end was the 'Final Showdown' between Raphael and Lijuan.
It went on and on and ONNNNN.
With very little really happening. Just a lot of 'Blah, Blah, Blah'.
And the 'Blah, Blah' was where we were once again hit with repetitive thoughts. Every mundane thing you can think of was inserted. The only thing that wasn't inserted was when they clipped their toenails!
I don't know why Ms. Singh has done this to my favorite series of hers.
I don't know if she will write anymore of this series or a spinoff to this series.
Quite frankly, I just don't care anymore.
I am done.

I am so disappointed. I will tell you upfront, I am discontinuing this series. I have flat out, no doubt about it, had enough.

This book is a big improvement from the last one, lots of stuff happening, a big war on the horizon, new characters, battles, lots and lots.
Me likey.

If that's even possible, but I think one angel was Croatian! Haha! How cool is that :D

I feel like I was fighting alongside my favourite angels in this hard and longtime coming war against the unimaginable evil that Lijuan represented. The war was intense and tiring and the repercussions of it would be felt for a long time, but I was really pleased with how it was resolved.
I know that not everyone is happy with this book and how long some things took. For me though, the balance between the relationships and war parts were pretty great. Maybe I'm just obsessed with these characters enough to lose all objectivity but I really don't think so.

After the shocking cliffhanger in Archangel's Prophecy, I was not prepared for yet another nerve-wrecking, catastrophic turn of events right after.
Nalini seems intent on inflicting maximum emotional damage and she did.
I am overwhelmed by how much has happened in this book [in a typical way when a reader is hurt] and I am still processing. Wow.

With the cliffhanger ending of the last book in the series, many readers are biting their nails to see what will come of Elena and Raphael in this installment. As a fan of this series, I was very much looking forward to see what Nalini Singh would do and I’m happy to note that she really went above and beyond what I expected and delivered an epic story for her readers.
ARCHANGEL’S WAR is the twelfth book in the Guild Hunter series and I would definitely recommend reading this series in order. This book has multiple POVs in it although quite a lot of it revolves around Raphael and Elena who are the main couple of the series. There were times when I wished a new couple was featured in this books, but this was one of those times when I was happy to see an update on Elena and Raphael again.
I truly believe that their romance continues to develop and bloom even though we’ve technically seen many happily ever afters for them already. Raphael has quickly become one of my favorite heroes of this year with his devoted love for Elena. I mean, he literally gives his heart to her. How much more could you ask from an archangel?
I’m giving this book five stars, which for me is a big deal now. I have only giving 5 stars to only one other book I’ve read this year, but I like to save this rating for books that I truly think deserve it. ARCHANGEL’S WAR definitely deserves all the 5-star ratings!

Wow, just wow! Singh, once again, pulls out all the stops in this pulse intensifying addition to the Guild Hunter series. Let’s just say that I can never get enough of Elena and her kick butt ways.
Warning: Sitting on the edge of your seat, you won’t be able to put Archangel’s War down once you start!
It has all come down to this, a war with Lijuan, the insane archangel with a god complex. Millions of lives wiped out, causing cataclysmic destruction and waking the ancients are just a few of the obstacles Raphael and Elena will be facing in Archangel’s War. Then a deadly illness sweeps the lands, even effecting angels. To top it off, betrayal rocks the angel community.
So, put up the do not disturb sign and dive in. You won’t be disappointed.
