Jess was in a dark alley being attacked when Cain Butler came to her rescue, but is her hero a good guy? The last thing she remembers of the attack was Cain telling the creeps "Now that you've threatened me, my brother can feed." And then she heard the screams.
Serena is trapped in a complex situation. Her boss is one of the most powerful vampires in the world and he has plans to rule the world. But to do so he is going to kill hundreds of paranormals, including her boyfriend Jaden Butler. If she warns Jaden she'll suffer a fate worse than death. If she doesn't warn him, he will either die or come looking for revenge.
Dexter Duvane has a problem. Paranormals are dying and it seems vampires are trying to cause an apocalypse. To survive he's going to need a team. he's already recruited a gargoyle to defend his friends, but now he needs to go on the attack. He needs warriors. Warriors like Jaden Butler.
This book concentrated on the Butler's, Jared and Cain. Hybrid vampires, with a half woven mother, gives them a little extra. Jared is the warrior, and fought in numerous wars. Cain is the big picture, sees what's coming type. They rescue a girl about to be raped, but Cain keeps in touch, then meet at a club, go for coffee, and Cain is attacked. Jared shows up inn time, and now He's is a target too. They communicate with others, decide to head to the Sanctuary, and take Jess's friend Mandy and Oscar, a bear shifter. More attacks, the world's at war, but between these guys and Dexter, they ARE going to do something about it. Super action, a little too much straight copy from first book, but if there's more, i will absolutely read it!
A bit too paranormal romance for me. Some contrivances to further the romance/relationships rather than action, but still a readable Urban Fantasy novel. Worth a shot
