After a seven-year hiatus, two high-school sweethearts fight the pain of the past for the hope of a better future.
Zane left his high school sweetheart, determined that they would always find a way back to each other when he was in a better place. Time moved faster than he would have liked, and the woman he's back for doesn't seem to want anything to do with him.
After picking up the pieces of her life after Zane disappeared with no warning, Jessica is concentrated on making a better life for herself & her son. Love, much less a second chance love is no way on her radar. Yet, her heart & body remember the good times she and Zane shared.
I liked this romance. It was very sweet and touching. There were also some fun moments, especially involving Jessica's son. I definitely recommend.

Jessica and Zane are high school sweethearts. She thinks he’s messing with her at first so he has to put in some effort for her to believe he really wants to date her. Fast forward a few years and they’re struggling to make ends meet. He thinks he’s holding her back and after something happens he takes off. Fast forward more years and she’s settled in to her life, building her business. He decides it’s time to get her back because he’s successful and she’s single. You can imagine how that goes over at first. He again has to put in some effort to date her.
This was a sweet tale of mistakes and second chances. I was debating between 4 and 5 stars and would give it 4.5 stars if possible. I have voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy.

When an accident occurs Zane leaves Jessica to pick up her life and move on without him. Jessica was devastated when Zane left without a reason. She manages to move on and start her own business
Seven years later, Zane has made something of his life and is back to win her back. Will Jessica give her heart again or has too much damage been done. This was a sweet romance about young love and the insecurities one may feel. Overall an okay read for me. I just felt that Jessica should have made Zane grovel more.

This a 2nd chance love story about Zane and Jess. They were high school sweethearts and Zane was the one to get Jess to date him. They fall in love and live together barely making ends meet. Both grew up without any good family life and formed a very close connection. Jess had a sweet tooth and Zane always made sure she had a special treat! One special night things end badly and Zane walks away believing he is not good enough for her and goes to make things better for him. Jess moves on heartbroken and never really feeling whole. Seven years later Jess is a single mom to a 4 year old boy Parker and trying to make a living making and selling her own chocolates! One unexpected days Zane comes to her store and wants to pick up where they left off. I loved that Jess makes him think about all he did to her and how it affected her. Working through their past they start a new relationship. Another past comes back, her ex and he wants nothing but to cause trouble for her. Zane has promised to keep them safe. What a wonderfully sweet and at times emotional story. Jessica and Zane meet in high school and from the very beginning Zane is determined to win a date with Jessica. Three years later they are in love and making plans to love and make a life together. One fateful night changes everything. Zane believes Jess is better off without him until he gets his life together and is worthy of being with her. Problem is seven years later Jess has made a life for her and her son and it has taken Zane far longer than he expected to get to where he wants it to be. He has kept an eye on Jess from afar and now realizes the time is right to reenter her life. Jess has a hard time reconciling with the time that has past and why Zane felt he needed to leave. Neither can ignore the strong connection they still have. Zane is determined to win Jess's heart all over again along with her son. This is a very well written book and I enjoyed every part of it. the chemistry between Jess and Zane is so steamy. I loved how they were able to overcome everything and get the HEA they have always wanted.

This book is a second chance romance. About a couple that started dating in high school. But then they were stuck in a crappy apartment and with crappy jobs. They both wanted to succeed in their own field, but couldn't manage to while they were together.
Zane wasn't so strong and determined. When he left her it was his downfall.
But slowly he began to rise and be a better man - a man that Jessica could be proud of.
Jessica was always so quiet and shy. She wanted to have her own bakery and didn't know how to achieve it without attending a bussiness school far away.
I love Parker and his naughty side, that all kids have to have. He makes the book better.
The book is interesting and worth reading.

A well written story with nice storyline and plot. It is written in dual POV which gives the more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. Likeable characters with nice chemistry and passion. A second chance romance.
An alpha male going for his HEA but has a lot of trouble getting there. She has an ex who is the father of her son. But he wants her. They were high school sweethearts and he never forgot her and his love for her. Now he is going to fight to get her back.
I like the passion and chemistry. A mix of drama, love, alphas, exes, attraction, emotions and twists. I like the humor, heartwarm and writing style that kept me reading.
I like it has an epilogue to tell a bit about what happens next.

Jess and Zane have passion, desire and unconditional love for each other even at their young age. You know forever love when you see it no matter how old the lovers are. However, they act and react in ways that drove my crazy - impetuous, emotional actions that result in hurt and sorrow. I can't give away the details because that takes away your initial responses to the story and for me they were powerful. This second chance romance has it's bumps and at a couple of points along the way it's a bit choppy in it's telling but, it is an intense and beautiful reunion of two people who are never from each other's mind and heart.

I'm not always a fan of the old "I'm not good enough, so I'll leave", second chance storyline. In this case, it was an OK, fast paced read. Zane left Jessie when she needed him most, to make himself "worthy" of her. Seven years later, he's back without a word to her in-between. He certainly has his weaknesses, but Jessie, after recovering from the show and heartbreak, has forged on with her dreams, made a success of being a shop owner, a single mom, and a strong independent woman. I liked her more than him. Al said, this was a good read.

Cute and sweet, second chance romance.
It's love at first sight that ends when Jessica ends up in the hospital after a car accident almost takes her life.
Zane couldn't stand to be there cause of her pain. He thinks she deserves better.
She had a chance to go to college and makes something of herself but she doesn't want to leave him, so he makes the choice for her.
Seven years later, a son and a new business, in walks Zane and now that he has made something of himself he wants her back and will stop at nothing to get his way.
But when her ex walks back into her life, things get crazy.
Another great read, with good character development.

Had more potential
I really wanted to like this book. I ended up skimming through parts just because it didn’t hold my attention like I hoped it would. I feel like it needs to be edited and revised thoroughly. The plot was alright it could’ve been so much more with better writing in terms of character build up and timing. This book felt really rushed and lacked something I can’t adequately describe. It also bothered me how the heroine didn’t put much of a fight as you think she would. She kind of just falls back into the Hero’s lap cringe worthily. It definitely has more potential.

This was a great second chance story. Zane and Jess were high school sweethearts and they loved each other unconditionally. When Zane ends up breaking Jess’s heart, neither do well afterwards. Seven years have passed and Zane wants Jess back and does everything that he can to get her back. When they are together, you can see that they never stopped loving each other and their connection becomes even stronger. They have hot and smoldering chemistry. I just adored Jess’s son. This was a sweet, loving story with some heat added in. I enjoyed this story and the characters.

I love reading 2nd chance stories, and this one definitely didn't disappoint. Other than a few grammar and proofreading errors, I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read romance novels.
