Overall, the fabulous Nikki Bolton knows that she’s living a very blessed life. She has a loving family and friends...and even better, a beautiful relationship with her God. She owns her own home, a brand new car, and is the co-owner of a very successful bakery. But everything that glitters isn’t gold. In her mind, not having a husband is the fly in the ointment of her life. She’s come close to grasping a happily-ever-after a couple of times. But a private shame that she’s hiding seems to keep getting in the way. As the saying goes, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Will Nikki eventually realize that she has beauty beyond her flaws? If she does, she might just get a chance to end up with the husband of her dreams. She might just get a chance to have it all.

"Beauty Beyond My Flaws" by Taretha Jones
My Speculation:
"Beauty Beyond My Flaws" was an alluring read that will keep you turning the pages to what is going on with Nikki, Chris, Brent, and her best friends Brianna, Lisa, and Asia. Nikki, who had suffered from having 'alopecia' life for her, had not been the best, especially with what her horrible Aunt Helen and one of her jealous friend Brianna who seemed to have it in for her in the way they made her feel about herself. It was something when she finds out one of her friends also had alopecia and was living a good life.
As the story will continue, poor Nikki finally sees Chris, her ex-fiance, as he really was but also being able to see Brent as a person who seemed to have changed his walk in life. When it all comes out, will we see how things will change for Nikki, or will she continue to let persons dictate her life that affects mentally and emotionally? Will she be able to shake loose this hold and let God guide her? I felt like this was a good read that will teach one a lesson on friendship and just whom one should trust.
Beauty Beyond My Flaws:A Christian Romance Novel (Faith, Flaws & All Book2)
I loved this story Nikki from 8yrs old grew up dealing with alopecia and hateful words leveled at her by her great aunt Helen. As much as Nikki tried to forget the hateful words, many times these words would come back to her mind and send her into a state of depression. However, after she had started dating Chris a deacon at her church she thought her world had changed. Chris even proposed to her but there wasn't any sincerity in it. It was all about status and advancement. When Chris received news that Nikki suffered from that deceased he called off their engagement in such a cruel way. Nikki is devastated and believes no one can or will love her, not even when her best friends try to convince her it is not true. Can Brent, however, convince her otherwise. Those that have lost their faith in love or are hopeless romantics will love this book.
The saying, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” comes to the reality of being untrue. Emotional scars can sometimes be more traumatic than physical scars. Nikki was deeply effected by words which almost cost her her future with Brent. The unwavering determination that Brent displayed in trusting God as “a babe in Christ” enabled him to not let go where Nikki was concerned. Nikki “listened” to the wrong people. There are times you have to detox from people.
What an amazing and caring story! I have read four books by this author and I can see her passionate spirit to help people with a message of hope. The negative influences on the character, Nikki, could not dampen her sweet and beautiful personality. With God fearing friends and a praying spirit anything can be conquered. To the author, this is your ministry, keep writing. I will keep reading.
This is a great book to encourage someone who is living in the past from verbal and emotional abuse. I like how the author shows how flaws are not an excuse to not love yourself. God can really give you beauty for ashes. The author also show the difference in real friends and ones who allows jealousy to steal their joy.
Taretha, good read. its such a terrible thing when someone that's supposed to love you will use your flaws against you. To have a issue and people get into your head the only thing that helps is God! Even then you have to learn to block out all the negative noise. Listen to your inner self it will never lead you wrong🤗🤗🤗🤗
This love story was great with Nikki and Brent it showed how things can change when you are beautiful inside and outside. But you do have to watch your friends that are jealous loved it.
God will give you the desired of your heart of you just have faith, even as small as a mustard seed. This book will bring joy to your heart and a smile to your face. Both books in this series are inspirational.
This was a good start. I like that we got to see Brent grow up. There were a few mistakes she wrote Eric and Lisa name when it should Nikki and Brent. Also, I don’t understand why everyone winks so much.
This is my first time reading Taretha Jones and I am hooked! Nikki and Brent's story is inspiring and just an enjoyable read! On to Lisa & Eric's story!
