To stop the dispute between the Spirit Realm and the Devil Realm, Milis has to enter the wedding ceremony with The 4th Prince of the Devil Realm. But the after wedding life does not seem to be as smooth as expected!
✨Prince Isle says: This realm has no place for the weak.
And I totally agree to that 🤘
Here's the story: A princess of the reaper realm is marrying the prince of the demon realm as some form of truce.
The princess Milis is headstrong, impulsive but good at heart and she doesn't understand why the prince Ise is hell bent on locking her up in the castle and is being a big brute.
So the story goes on where our prince tries to protect the princess when all the princess wants to do is escape and have her freedom.
She does try to escape and she succeeds but at the cost of her own life and the prince's.
Only then she understands what the prince meant all this entire time.
The demons in the kingdom just want the reaper princess to gain power as she has the 'soul stone' within her, and overthrow the prince from the throne.
A slow burn romance series with all kinds of demons and demon slaying 🤘
Let me start off by saying that this webtoon has a lot of potential, and that I wanted to like it. I really did, but here's the problems with this webtoon:
The dialogue is terrible. It's far too stilted or too derivative, or doesn't logically follow a conversation, or is repetitive in an echoey manner. Example (taken word for word, panel by panel; context is pretty clear): Prince Ise: "I would have got rid of you ever since I knew that we were going to get married." Princess Milis: "If you're going to get rid of me, then do it now! Because I'll never do anything you say." Son of guy trying to get into power: "Prince Ise, it looks like she's not going to do anything you say even if you try..." This conversation is very rinse and repeat in this webtoon's current available chapters, so it doesn't quite feel like we're making any progress with the plot.
The grammar and punctuation also need some work, but I'm not as concerned about that.
The pacing is way too fast. Milis suddenly trusts the man who she believes killed her in the human realm just because he's a tiny bit nice to her. But for the most part he's manipulating her. He asks her if she enjoys living with him. From the context of the webtoon. It's been less than 12 hours since she's been there. She basically got married, went to bed, woke up sleeping on his chest (when they went to bed in separate rooms), and eaten breakfast. I wouldn't qualify that being anywhere near enough time to figure out a major life decision with someone she's never even met. The development of feelings for him over those twelve hours doesn't feel real. Then suddenly we're at a party, swallowing stolen spirit stones, while having Ise both trying to kill her and simultaneously save her life.
Our main character is too naive. This could be a combination of the lack of world building. I just don't understand the world we're in. She tells Ise that her father can get the extra demon spirit stone out of her, but Ise refuses to agree (I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that it was stolen and that it will start a war, but I'm fairly certain that there's a really easy way out of this by just lying as to how she swallowed the stone. Just say that they found the smuggled stone while at a party. She panicked. Swallowed it. Then Ise got her out of there, but that's not convenient for the story even though it's the logical thing to do).
The world building is non-existent. What are reapers to the spirit realm exactly? Are they like YuYu Hakusho? What role do they have in the devil realm? Why is there such tension between them? Why do they think there will be a war? What are they fighting over? What role do they have in the world as a whole? What are the extent and the limitations of their powers? Ise clearly has power to use ice, but what can reapers do, resist spirits? Resist demons?
The toon assumes tension (especially romantic tension) that has had no chance to build. The biggest source of tension is a small panel section where Ise says something to himself about her having familiar eyes, but that was impossible because this individual had died. So the only thing keeping him from killing her is that she could or could not be familiar? He doesn't seem to really care about a war. He just wants what he wants, though I'm unsure of what it is he's trying to accomplish. He keeps telling her to help him or he'll kill her, but still says that he'll be killing her either way, so she might as well agree. (What?) And then she agrees because she somehow followed that logic even though she was literally saying, "You might as well kill me now because I'm not going to help you," seconds earlier.
This webtoon just needs a re-re-edit, and a few more chapters or scenes to build up the world, the tension, and the logic.
The art is, from my very untrained eye, very nice, but you need all of the elements to work in order to make a successful webtoon.
The art is beautiful but the episodes are so short and nothing flows nicely. The plot is either non-existent or all over the place. It is hard to tell because of the stilted frankly confusing dialogue and scenes. Two stars for the beautiful art otherwise it's a miss for me.
I found this on instagram and I think up to page #80. I love it so much and I just want to know when or if there will be any more or how I get more episodes. I'm new to this so I'm not sure how it works. All I know is that I just want to keep reading more. I finished it all in one sitting.
This story got restarted and has only recently gone into new material. Right now there are not enough answers. Why was Milis’s human life cut short? What really happened to the Demon king and his soul stone? Why is the main guy giving mixed signals of care and hate? Score can only be tentative for an unfinished story...
I really like the art. The princess btw, her abilities change according to the plot. One minute, she's dumb and naive and the next, she somehow becomes smart enough to wield a sword against multiple people or even spy on people. I think there are inconsistencies with the other characters and the plot as well.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Major issues with plot and communicating important information about the story to the reader. Some decent art, not so bad that it detracts from the story but it doesn't add anything either. Also quite short but that wouldn't be a problem on its own. I do/did like the story when I was able to follow the plot but lately it's just gone off the rails and I have no clue what it's even about anymore. Hopefully it's picks up soon!
Edit. Have completely given up on this webtoon. Hopefully it gets a reboot because it has plenty of potential.
Not sure why this is constantly on top for webtoon recommendations when the plot is nonexistent and the dialogue is elementary. Each episode is so short, so whatever story is present is happening at an odd pace. I could probably look past the writing if the art was good, but the detailed coloring and details only try to cover up the strange anatomy and distorted faces. Not good.
This had potential or really did I feel like I’m missing half of it. Like it just moves on and doesn’t explain what happened previously and it’s just a bit meh.
