This book feels different from others books by Esther. Of course I may had forgoten some of the feels from some older ones, but compared to the most recent ones, this one was for me the most emotional and complicated story. Or more correctly Lochlan and Xena relationship was. What Lochlan been through... With the damage he was living with... Hiding from living... It was so hard for him to open himself up. Even for Xena. It was heartbreaking to 'see' him that way and learn his story.
Xena had her own story to tell too. Not the same, but it made her to understand somewhat the pain in Lochlan eyes. And she was able to reach Lochlans shattered heart with hear patience, sass, understanding and just being her special self.

Great read. No way to give less than 5 stars. Such an awesome story. Sad in places but Xena was awesome. Her personality and the way she was with Lochlan lightened the story. Perfect read all around. Only apart for a day once they get together. http://favoritestoriesinreview.com/20...

Wow, what an emotional roller coaster this book was. It really pulls at the heart strings and keeps you reading just to see a happy ending. Of coarse the bad guy gets in the way and stops the heart beat for a second or two, but these two characters find the normal for them and make the book entertaining along the way.

For me, one of the best ones yet. Lochlan brings with him the emotions that are bottled up and have been for several years now, when he goes into the only bar that is still open. Wanting to numb the pain of the past, he begins drinking never taking notice of the bartender until she refuses him any more to drink. By then he has had more than enough by her way of thinking, but not his. Things get interesting from that point until the next morning when things really get interesting. But the story of Lochlan and Xena isn't about the drama and intrigue of the case he's working on. It isn't about the heat that these two ignite when they are together. It's their past that intertwines with their present and the wonder if there could be a future together for them. It's the loss of a precious gift and the loss of ever having the opportunity to receive a precious gift. Its how much these two have in common and how their way of thinking and living their lives makes them perfect for each other. Its the question of if Lochlan can put his past to rest and move forward to a future with someone.
This story was exceptionally well written and gives your emotions a little bit of a ride as you read their story. The characters are beautifully written and a bit complex. Lochlan, again has his painful past to contend with and Xena has hers, but she has been able to rise above her loss and is living her life her way and on her own terms. She's a dancer and moves whenever she feels like it, but she's where her bestie and her brother live now and is helping her brother with his bar. The supporting characters, other than the MC brothers, are entertaining as well. The banter, conversations and just all around playfulness adds to the more somber portions of the story, definitely lightening the mood.
I think that this has to be my favorite of the Broken Deeds series and I highly recommend it.

Wow! Didn’t see that coming from a MC book
Lochlan is a man plagued by demons from the past. It’s not until he feels a breath of fresh air in the way of “Xenia” that he catches a glimpse of what life could be like, if he was just brave enough to take it. Xena knows Lochlan..she’s surprised and intrigued about this Viking of a man. When they finally come together, they’ll both learn that even if you live life on your own terms, there are some fears and dangers that you have to overcome before you get to.
While we’re used to MC books being filled with lots of alpha behavior, hot sex, and mild violence (and this one is no different)..this book was filled with so much hurt, loss, guilt, fear, redemption, forgiveness, and love that I was completely moved at moments, tearful at times, and praying that Lochlan can move past (or through) his past. I was in awe of Xena and her ability to understand what Lochlan needs at all times..she was so in tuned to his feelings and needs, it was heartwarming.
This book was so good..well thought out..I had an opportunity to see how some folks experience grief and it’s crippling aftermath.
This book is definitely worth the read.
On a lighter note, I love how this author gives you a follow up glimpse into the future at the end of every book.☺️

Woohoo an MC book without « club women »!
The H & were quite perfect for each other, the romantic side of the story was really well written, emotional without being over the top with two strong willed characters.
I have to admit I totally forgot about the « suspense » side of the storyline until the final chapters though, I felt like it was not really needed.

Not great unfortunately, I couldn't read it all.
I'm really sorry. I tried to read this, got through the first six and a bit chapters and gave up. The storyline is too cliche, bad boy who isn't meets ideal woman, both have the same 'issues'. When people tell you that to write a book you need to show and not tell, they clearly say it for a reason. This is not a showing book. She tells us too much of what is going on and doesn't 'show' it and sadly it is all the same repeated just slightly differently.
I always try to give authors I don't know time for me to get used to their style of writing and I did that here, but by the 6th chapter I was bored, felt the story was going nowhere, but could predict exactly what was going to happen, and was sick of being fed everything with nothing coming from the flat, dull, predictable characters.
I don't like leaving bad reviews, I want authors to feel I've read and enjoyed what they have put time into creating. Unfortunately I feel this author fell in a story that has been told hundreds of times before and didn't or couldn't give us anything fresh. I don't want to be told what the character is thinking all the time. I want to travel the journey with them and discover their partners, jobs, lives as they live them. This let me down at every corner and was the ideal 'this isn't how you write a great book example'.
Maybe one day soon I'll pick up another of E.E.Schmidt's books and see if this was just a one off ... Maybe!

Loved the whole Broken Deeds MC series by Esther E. Schmidt. Each book was a complete treat, and Lochlan was probably one of my favorites!
Lochlan and Xenia became the couple that saw things different from the rest of the world, but in their world a purple fence and a huge lizard made absolute sense.
Lochlan carries a lot of guilt and grief that he has kept to himself for so long. Yet suddenly Xena was there, like a gift, to help him come back into the light. Xenia, a feisty professional dancer, and Doll's best friend. Doll, aka Faith, is married to Ramrod of the Broken Deeds MC. Xenia is a no nonsense person, but for some reason Lochlan strikes a chord with her, and she wants to see where they can go, but first Lochlan has to realize he wants this too.
Lochlan and Xenia start of at odds with each other, but slowly realize that they are "it" for each other.
There is drama, tension, and bad things happening that Broken Deeds MC are involved in, and Xenia becomes part of a twisted guy's plan to ruin his father!
You have to read this book to understand the depth of this relationship, and to understand that Broken Deeds MC is above the law in ways you would not expect, but sometimes things don't always go to plan!

This is the fifth book in the Broken Deeds series. I recommend reading them in order. Lochlan is a beautiful damaged man. Xena has her own issues but is a strong beautiful woman. Lochlan is so attracted to her but she deserves everything and he can’t give her that. He can’t seem to stay away though. One night changes everything for them. Maybe he can have everything. Maybe Xena can help him heal and move forward. She maybe the perfect woman for him. This book was so emotional. I think Lochlan is my favorite guy from this series so far. I felt for him so much. Xena is fantastic. She went through something too. But she doesn’t let it haunt her. Instead it makes her live even harder. I can’t say enough about this book. I love all the characters in this series and I am always glad to get to read another book in the series. I love how the characters from previous books show up again. Congrats on another fantastic book.

So that was one heck of a climax. I didn't see it coming and it surprises you while making you feel the heartbreaking of the characters.
Lochlan has some serious tight strings around his heart.
Xena is like a butterfly, she makes things happy wherever she goes. So Lochlan isn't sure what to do about her breaking open his heart.
"I respect the S#!+ out of this man."
Yet she knows exactly how to handle him, with protection and care. These two argue as much as they make up and it's oh so steamy.
Another great MC novel by Esther Schmidt and excellent read to the collection.

Awesome
This book was absolutely amazing there was so much to love. Sometimes there are books written that just cut deep in your heart and for me this is that book. Lochlan's character was so very well written . Lochlan has been through so much in his life that you can't he'll falling in love with him. , Xena is badass, she's so different from every other character you read about, she marches to her own tune. This book actually makes you feel like you are living life right along with them💖 I think this is one book that will stay with me a long time..... Pure perfection!!!

This book is complicated to say the least the dynamics of Lochlan and Xenia’s relationship is tenuous at best. The emotional pain and heartfelt grief that they have both endured before coming together is heartbreaking. One thing about the pain is that it led two people down a path that neither could avoid no matter the cost because they can kind of relate to the other. This book will touch you and have you hoping for nothing but the best in this awe inspiring pair!!

Wonderful Read!
This series makes me so happy! Well written, characters I want to know in real life, and gives me laughter, steam, emotional times, and LOVE.
Lochlan & Xena have a tough road at first, because he's had his heart broken - not in the usual way you might expect. She is, of course, his perfect match, giving him toughness & patience in turn as needed.
Thumbs up & 5+++ stars. This is one of my favorites in the series!! 😍

Lochlan and Xena, some really awesome names... beyond that, the pain that they both have endured. The fear and heartache that they each carry. Esther E. Schmidt did a wonderful amazing job on getting gritty and having the smexy in this newest Broken Deeds story. loved it so much I read it twice in a day. made me cry, laugh, and scream (ya know alphaholes) lol

Heart warming
I truly enjoyed this book and the entire series. As it had a great action packed story line. Not for the faint at heart , especially when it comes to sex,love,war and gore. It had a way of grabbing and not letting go. I started with the first series Areion fury, which links to this series Broken Deeds. Loved both sets.

NOT ENOUGH STARS IN THE SKY TO RATE LOCHLAN
This story was so hard to read with the tears in my eyes. It grabs your heart like no other. LOCHLAN has stolen my heart. He's lived a sad life that not one of his brothers knew about, it took Xena to make him open up.

Are we ever worthy of the love that is freely given to us. This story will take you on a new path of how it can really effect you. Lochlan keeps to himself and lets no one in. Xena keeps dancing through and hoping around the country wherever the work takes her. Can these two finally find happiness in themselves? This is a story that won’t disappoint

Absofreakinglutely amazing! Love Lochlan and Xena's witty, emotional, hot as sin chemistry. I've loved every character in this MC series but these two with their personalities and experiences absolutely draw you in a hundred times more. Can't wait to read more by this author.

Another amazing read!
Esther has done it again. This story is one of redemption and forgiveness and it is wonderful! I love seeing Lochlan make the transition back to the living, it was an emotional read. This is another 5 star read for Esther! I loved it!

Outstanding as always
Esther you have done it again with a heart braking story that just takes a hold of you. Lochlan and Xena story was amazing. I highly recommend Esther's books.
