Well now I have no words. Literally I don’t have many that weren’t expressed over these awesome books in my previous review for this series! I was a little disappointed that this one had less commentary on the concept art from the actual artists, but it definitely didn’t disappoint with both the Q&A with the staff, and a step-by-step of how they go about creating such beautiful pieces. It was quite interesting both to see more of the ideas that went into some of the more well known dungeons, and I do admit there were a few that were less familiar because I don’t recall going through them (or maybe just forgot!), either option has definitely encouraged me to do a few run throughs again! However, even then you could really see the detail and effort put into giving each dungeon and environment it’s own vibe and feel, while immersed in the setting!

Not really much else I can think of to add! Buuut, if you’re humming and hawing over putting that sweet sweet pay check into a copy of any of the concept art books to take home and present its rightful place on a shelf or coffee table, I would say take the plunge! I believe I spent a solid hour glossing over each piece and even then I had to go back and give them another look over to really appreciate them! But beware! Once you start it’s very hard to talk yourself out of ordering all the other books to have a complete set!

A reminder of how beautiful these games and everything in them are.

I came into the game way way after Heavensward, but the Alexander designs are top notch.

And the lanners? Some of the best-looking mounts ever in the game.

Odd they split these at MSQ and then post-patch, but whatever you only have these if you’re a fan, and they’re made specifically for you!

NICHE AND BIASED, BUT
A must-buy/must-read for anyone remotely interested in a visual deep dive into the concept art. This volume contains artwork from patches 3.1-3.55 (post-Heavensward release until the patch before Stormblood release). Beautiful illustrations of all sizes.

YES this is copy/pasta of my review of other volumes with updated patch notes. Same feelings, same wonderful work.
