A very interesting book.

This book surprised me in that I went in expecting a cultivation book but ended up with a feudal Japan with sci-fi. The author was good at drawing me into the story and getting me engaged with the plot. The switching between the two main characters was handled with good pacing and good plot points for both. The growth of the characters was good and the intrigue was well done. Overall I enjoyed this book.

Ok start

Lengthy descriptions and a lot of slice of life moments for the characters. It's nice but slows down the momentum throughout the book. I'm not likely to read the next one in the series.
