This is the story of a young lady Alvina who learns she has amazing magical ability, the only trouble is she needs to learn to use it. I really enjoyed this story and after a fairly slow start it really drew me in. I found I liked the characters and the secret world in which it’s set. It built all the way to an exciting ending where I found myself trying to figure out what was happening and then having to find out quickly if I was right. The writing style is sophisticated, and the character and world building are strong. I will be purchasing book 2 without question and can’t wait to find out what J.S Larmore does with the wonderful and deep world she has set up so beautifully.

I enjoyed this story. The characters are likeable and well developed. There are plot twists and villians. Everything you could want in a well developed story. I give it four out of five stars and I am looking forward to the next one.
I loved every minute of this fantasy book by J.S Larmore. Alvina is a shy character who prefers to stay at home reading, but her life quickly changes when she discovers her magical powers and she is pushed into the spotlight of the magic community. The author has created a truly magical novel with imaginative descriptions of other worlds and creatures. The characters are well developed and believable. The story unfolds with plot twists that will leave you wanting more.

I could not put this one down! From the first page, I felt like I was there with the main character. I felt the things she felt and saw what she saw. J.S. Larmore has a fantastic narrative voice and left me wanting more. Easton was definitely my favorite character. But all of the characters were amazing. I loved the development of each one, and nothing felt rushed or forced. Truly - this is an awesome read. You need to stop readi my review and go buy it! Right now! Do it!
When a member of the magical Cadre is kidnapped, students try to save him. I really enjoyed this. It's a real world book with just enough of the magical world to make it different. It keeps you engaged from the beginning. I would say this book would appeal to those who enjoy both the paranormal and mystery.
Fascinating! Excellent, well thought out characters with a story that instantly pulls you into their world. Very difficult to put down!! Very grateful to J.S.Larmore for her complimentary copy of “ Gaeamundi:Book 1 of The Wielding Series” via Voracious Reader’s Only Looking forward to the rest of the books in the series.
This was a good read. One thing I liked about it was how I went from curious to really into it. There were a few things that personally I couldn’t quite relate to so those did throw me off a bit m. But good job!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Very well written, very well developed characters. I used to read all the time, but life got busy, and I just didn't have/take the time for it. However, this book renewed that passion, once I got started I had trouble stopping, cause I kept wanting to know where it was going, or what was going to happen. It kept me very engaged, and intrigued. I will admit there are a few typographical errors in the book, but they are easily over looked.
Alvina has longed for the fantasy worlds between pages her entire life, but when she is told she has powers and must go to a special school or have her powers bound once more she can't believe it. On the night of her 25th birthday she goes out drinking with her best friend and they meet up with two guys. One of which is her friend's boyfriend while the other is his buddy from work. Or is he. After starting her new life at the school she sees more than one familiar face, but when the man who introduced her to this magical society goes missing Alvina decides to use her powers to save him with the help of her mentor, friend, and new boyfriend. Can they save this powerful man?
I received a copy of this eBook from the author in exchange for an honest review. This book has all of my favorite components: adventure, magic, main character who loves to read, a dash of romance, and new worlds. I have no complaints about this book, although personally I don't think her boyfriend was ever right for her.
The world building is great, it is written in a way that it would seem plausible, and the characters are relatable. I enjoyed it from start to finish and would happily read the next in this series if requested.
While I know those without powers aren't really allowed in the magical world I hope that her long-time friend plays a bigger part as the books go on. I think it would be good for Alvina to still maintain that link to who she was before her powers. Her powers themselves were exciting and elemental. Not just one, either, although I'll let you find more about that within the pages.
In this book Alvina discovers her powers, learns the basics of handling them, discovers love, and makes some friends. Along the way she loses a powerful wielder and something much more important to her. No complaints on that front, although it did hurt her it was for the better. The book ends where you can tell there will be much more to the story to come, although there are no hanging threads from this one's main purpose.
Enter a world full of magic and mystery that will keep you up reading late into the night as you navigate this fabulous book. Looking forward to reading a lot more from J.S. Larmore.
