When the Moon

Rate this book

Step 1: Survive my first week of college.

Step 2: Don’t give anyone reason to suspect I’m a werewolf.

Step 3: Definitely don’t lose my temper, shift in the middle of class and maul Jerkface to death. No matter how tempting it is to take a bite out of him.

Wait, I didn’t mean it like that.

Other magicals don’t think highly of wolves, but that shouldn’t be a problem so long as I keep my head down, study hard and keep calm. Which would be a lot easier without Jerkface hanging around.

He’s smart, super hot and absolutely unbearable. Not to mention potentially very dangerous. There’s something mysterious about him, and it might be something sinister – after all, the guy’s favourite band is ABBA. If that’s not a red flag, I don’t know what is.

You wouldn’t think it would be that hard to stay away from him. Unfortunately, he seems hell-bent on talking to me and since I can’t sniff out his true intentions, I’m totally in the dark about him.

Oh well. As long as he doesn’t figure out my secret, everything should be fine, right?

Right?

A sexy,  laugh-out-loud funny paranormal rom-com with plenty of magic, a swoon-worthy male lead and some scenes you don’t want your mother to catch you reading.

All books in the Hellfire College Romance series can be read as standalones.

Clare Kauter writes laugh-out-loud funny books across genres, including mystery, romantic comedy and paranormal fiction. She is known for her loveable hot mess characters, dubious puns and occasional (OK, frequent) inappropriate jokes.

Clare isn’t going to tell you where she lives, because she always finds it weird when other authors do that in their bio. Why would you care? Unless you’re a stalker, in which case it’s probably better if she doesn’t give you a head start.

At any given moment she’s probably sipping tea while hunched over her pink keyboard in a super attractive posture, writing her next book and snorting like a piglet at her own jokes.

Clare posts regularly on her blog – drop by and say hi!

Aside from being immediately turned off by the heroine being a judgemental shrew from the onset,I found the repetitive praising of certain darker entities highly off putting.

A wonderful way to kick off a new series by Clare. It has the traditional banter and puns we all love, with a side of will they won't they romance.

Loved! (As usual - I love all of Clare's books). This one is about Gi, a werewolf who is keeping her real identity hidden while she attends college, so that she isn't looked down upon by others. She soon meets Jacques (or Jerkface, as he's better known), a mysterious guy with secrets of his own. There is an obvious attraction between the two, but nothing serious can happen until either one (or both) gives up their secrets. This was a great read, with fun characters, romance and some laugh out loud moments.

Love Clare Kauter

There hasn't been a thing Clare Kauter hasn't written, that I haven't loved. Everything is well written, witty, and in this case a big heaping pile of romance.
