Amy Sumida is the Internationally Acclaimed author of the Award-Winning Godhunter Series, the fantasy paranormal Twilight Court Series, the Beyond the Godhunter Series, the music-oriented paranormal Spellsinger Series, the superhero Spectra Series, and several short stories. Her books have been translated into several languages, have won numerous awards, and are bestsellers. She believes in empowering women through her writing as well as providing everyone with a great escape from reality. Her stories are full of strong women and hot gods, shapeshifters, vampires, dragons, fairies, gargoyles... pretty much any type of supernatural, breathtakingly gorgeous man you can think of. Because why have normal when you could have paranormal? Born and raised in Hawaii, Amy made a perilous journey across the ocean with six cats to settle in the beautiful state of Oregon which reminds her a lot of Hawaii but without the cockroaches or evil sand. When she isn't trying to type fast enough to get down everything the voices in her head are saying while her kitties try to sabotage her with cuteness, she enjoys painting on canvases, walls, and anything else that will sit still long enough for the paint to dry. She prefers antiques to modern furniture, tea to coffee, night to day, and Tom Hardy to Tom Hiddleston. No; Tom Hiddleston to Tom Hardy. No, wait... Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston to Tom Cruise. Seriously, why isn’t it? It’s really fantastic so far!! Emotional, creative and very original. It’s combining all my favorite things and topping it with a superhero feel, though it really isn’t a superhero series - its paranormal, or supernatural. And this book even has the fae! I’m enjoying it intensely.
First person, single POV, episodic Romantic dynamic = Unsure, still M/F but may be considered MFM, For now. Rating = R (mature)
Pros: - Very Inventive - Characters are in full color... laugh if you like. 😉 - Amara May be one of my favorite main characters, she’s quick witted but dang classy. - The metaplot is engaging. - Editing issues that plagued book 1 are not seen here.
Cons: - I need more president Colton. - World benefit from multiple POVs
I actually liked this one more then the first. I liked watching the relationships growing and getting to know the characters more. I still found it dragged in parts. I liked the club. How they kept a straight face the first time was amazing. I liked the idea of the Gray that part was good. I found that the males can come across as being sexist at parts and it gets annoying.
U have done it again. I love this series. It's as good as the godhunter series. And the fact that every book she has another man fighting for her......L.O.V.E. I.T. To bad her guys are to aggressive to share her, but then you never know Vervian swore she would never do that and now she has some in multi realms. Anyway thank you for such a wonderful book and I can't wait for the next one.
For some Reason this book was a bit harder to get through. I was still good but it wasnt as fun as the first book it was too serious and i dont really like the malik -spectra relationship. Not sure why i am just liking them As a couple less and less
Good read as per usual with this author. I loathe and love the slow burn of her books. Most RH has the guys already altogether as a unit from the start but some of these guys start out as enemies and stay that way for awhile. 10 outa 10 would recommend
The creativity of the story and the Danu world are aces in my book. The concept of the gray, and how it got there is fun and interesting.
Mara's soap-box speeches were over-the-top, and killed me. You can find a way for your character to demonstrate their ethics and stand up for their beliefs without a rousing speech. Again, weird and preachy moments.
The story line seems to be going in too many different directions at once. I want the author to slow down, and do one at a time. It feels like the entire story was in fast forward.
Overall, it was a good read. The world building was good (didn’t feel as info was being taken for granted or very confused), but to me her powers do not make a lot of sense (even if I find them very cool) and I hated that they presented 3 possible candidates of the harem (which I believe they’ll eventually join) and she’s attracted to all of them but one of them it’s special and her attraction is stronger, not different but more ardently and I feel that’s a huge mistake when it comes to having so many relationship, they deserve better.
I have now read everything that Amy Sumida has written except Happily harem after....but I’m starting those next! This woman can write her ass off, and she’s super quick too! I loved the Twilight court. I adore the Godhunter series. The Spellsinger is the boss. Now I can’t wait for the next Spectra! Thank you Amy just for being your awesome self! Keep writing and imma keep reading! Read anything by her and fall in love....if you dare!
A Gray Area is one of those books you either like or you don't, because Amara is a strong, yet snide, protagonist that may rub some readers the wrong way. Personally, I like her calm, no-nonsense, cynical view of the world around her. Amy Sumida did a wonderful job of creating a fresh, intriguing character with an unusual set of skills. Creative and fun to read.
Bloody awesome book love amys writing she has some skills. Spectra is full of action sex and mystery. In this on spectra must find out whats causing tbe gray area and turning peopme to monsters and try to stop it. During the way she encounters more sexy men who become fasinated by her and beings she didnt even know excisted.. this series in all is captivating and sensual.
So disappointed, the first book was enjoyable, this one not so much. Superhero characters are a lot of fun but since fifty shades of gray (which I did not read, but still know way too much about) has started a trend of porn ruining good stories. It was too much, way too much and ruined the whole series for me. Do not let your teenager read this one
This book has so many intense moments that I can’t even pick a favorite. I absolutely loved this book and was blown away with all the twists and new characters that are now involved with spectra. More romance, action, comedy and drama are definitely part of this book too. Can’t wait to read the next book
I love this group of heroes so much and the unique powers and abilities of the different characters. I am super excited for the next one but need to accomplish something today so will be waiting a few hours to get the next one! Super excited to see Eden.
Amara is not your typical "super hero" but I think that makes her an even more enjoyable character. This was a great sequel and I look forward to book 3!
Great second book! I really like how we are getting intimate glimpses of the characters! Plus add I some new and very swoon worthy new guys and it a good read.
I liked this book. It was entertaining and kept me reading but honestly I could have been reading any of her other books and it would have hit the same points.
What twists and turns! The once cold and aloof Spectra is dating the Prince of Hell. New men are introduced and poor Spectra can't keep her Prince happy. I enjoyed how things went down in this book and look forward to book 3!!
