General. Senator. Princess. Rebel. Feminist icon. Leia Organa is a legendary Star Wars symbol of what it means to stand up for yourself and fight for what you believe in - no matter the personal cost. As the figurehead of the Rebellion and Resistance, and a prime example of an individual succeeding in a tyrannical workplace, Leia's name is synonymous with courage, grit and conviction. Whether she is refusing to comply with Darth Vader's demands, evading the wrathful clutches of the Empire or rescuing her friends from the Death Star, Leia is not afraid to challenge those in positions of authority and power. Filled with inspiring advice from Leia and other heroes - Rey, Padmé, Yoda, Obi-Wan, Jyn and many more - this book provides thoughtful and funny reflections on independence, staying true to yourself and challenging the status quo.
The perfect gift for a Star Wars fan, Star Be More Leia is a humorous guide to rebellion, leadership and activism, featuring iconic moments from the Star Wars movies alongside key advice for life.

I love this little hardback book! On the left hand of each page spread, it has stills and quotes from the whole range of Star Wars movies and a broad swathe of the cast, but focusing mostly on Princess Leia. The theme is then explored with some witty but wise commentary linking Star Wars to the real world - applying the wisdom.
What I really enjoyed: The wisdom. This is real wisdom not just random fluffy phrases. Good advice for anyone who is working to change the world or see through something meaningful. Some are simple like ‘Seek out people who share your beliefs’ or ‘Take the first step others will follow’, and some more arcane: ‘True power comes from within’. The wit. There is a lot of this and it is glorious. To give but a taste: ‘Be realistic about how quickly your community can rally, though, or you may find yourself chained to a bad-tempered slug crime lord for a while before your support arrives’.
What I struggled with: The business focus. I did feel this was maybe a bit more work-project oriented than social justice fighting, which was maybe not how I’d see the focus of Princess Leia.
Overall thoughts: I think this book would be a great pick-me-up for anyone struggling to push through a professional or personal project. It is also great to have as a wonderful tribute to the amazing Carrie Fisher.
Really fun and cute book, with some decent leadership advice! Lots of great photos and quotes from the Star Wars movies, too (mostly Leia of course, but several other characters make appearances too).
The perfect little short book to have as a boost when feeling down or low about work. Great snippets of advice from Leia, Solo, and the rest. Definitely one where I’ll refer back to quotes and the ideas that whether I’m slinging coffees as a barista or ordering titles. No one will put me into a Sarlac pit, because I am more Leia!
