THE NAUGHTY NOVELIST AND THE BIKER BILLIONAIRE

As with all the Taking Charge books in this series, they are each stand-alone stories and can take the reader on a different journey each time. With Tycoon, Mason is a complex man who knows exactly how to take charge. Once again, Ms. Maggie Carpenter takes her readers on an amazing adventure that includes secrecy, deception, commitment, trust, dominance, and submission. Not only did I enjoy the cast of characters, but the camaraderie between the two main characters, Mason and Mary, and the special little terrier dog, Pete, that brings them together.

Mary Austen will find a scared dog one night and take him in. She will do everything to try and locate his owner, and after two weeks, when she has completely fallen in love with the little fellow, she will get that dreaded call from a man named Mason. Showing up on his Harley, he is the epitome of a bad boy biker with long hair and his leather. But when the dog sees his master, it is obvious; he is the true owner.

The plot will have the meeting of Mason and Mary when he comes to get his missing dog, Pete. There will be month go by before they meet up again. All Mason knows about her, is her name and that she is a novelist, but that is more than she knows about him.

“Take enough risks, get your fingers burned enough times, and you learn there’s always a tomorrow. Leaps of faith will always reward you. If you fail, you’ll learn from the experience.”

So many things will happen that make it hard for Mason and Mary to get together. When Mason’s partner and mentor is rushed to the hospital with a heart attack, he will have to devote time to that situation, especially when the medical mystery is revealed. Mary has been recovering from pneumonia and had a setback herself. It is as if the fates are stacked against them getting together.

Some questionable incidences have taken place at the office that alert Mason and his security team. Now that they are down to deadlines on bids on a building, it is apparent there is a mole in their midst. Mason is pulled in several directions that make getting time with Mary difficult. Their phone conversations are loaded with sexual innuendos and includes talking about spankings. What starts as an off the wall remark in play with eventually play out between them.

“My dad used to say it’s what people do that matters, not what they say. I never truly understood the truth of those words until this minute.”

“Open a door, sweetheart, and you can bet I’ll walk through it! Our attraction was genuine, and so are you. I sensed from the start, but I’m worried my lifestyle will be intimidating. I still am.”

The story has mystery, suspense, danger, angst, deceit, betrayal, secrets, and new beginnings. The fact that both Mary and Mason don’t reveal their full identities at first allows for plenty of exciting mystery. With Mason, he wants to know that she really wants him, not what he has or can give her. But when she learns he figured out her penname she is upset. There is plenty of sexual attraction between them, and the chemistry doesn’t fade. He is a dominant and has several lessons to teach his naughty novelist; he even wants to help her play out scenarios from her books.

“I want to be with you. I’ll stay at your house if you’re uncomfortable in mine, I don’t care. I’m a person who makes things happen, and I want us to happen. You and me. What do you say? Are we on the same page?”
“Mason, forget the same page, she said softly. “We’re in the same sentence.”

“It was a dream, one that was coming true. Mason was her fantasy man, the man she’d imagined when writing her books. Sweet, but tough, a handsome, successful, Harley-riding biker and animal lover. Most of all, he was a strong, loving Dominant with a warm, caring heart.”

I enjoyed this book as it's a fun read about two people who meet through unusual circumstances.
Mary Austen has fallen in love with the lost dog she found and is heartbroken when his owner comes
to collect him.Mason Abbot has been worried sick about his little mate, Pete.Mary could not believe
her eyes when Mason arrived to collect Pete, handsome was an understatement. This did not stop her
from lecturing Mason on his carelessness.Sparks fly between them but it's a while before they meet up again.Mary has no clue that Mason is a billionaire businessman and not just a hot biker.Mason is drawn
to Mary, his feelings are the real thing especially when he realizes she is the author of his latest book.
Mary and Mason find themselves dealing with her match making sister, intrigue, danger, mystery and their
love for Pete. They enjoy living out their fantasies from scenes in Mary's books.Mary feels Mason's displeasure at times along with his passion. This was a super sexy read, what women would not like her
own sexy bike riding billionaire.Another enjoyable read in this series.

Charming! A tantalizing romance between two people who fall for each other without knowing pertinent details of each others' lives. They meet under the sweetest of circumstances and a physical attraction is definitely present. While falling hard, they are both cautious about revealing everything about themselves too soon, and they both have valid reasons for keeping some things private. Their feelings deepen even more when they discover they enjoy the same important elements in a relationship. As the heat level rises, several obstacles develop that may prevent their happily ever after. Along the way there are misunderstandings, a good hold-your-breath mystery, plenty of sass and humor, and the cutest, funniest little character that I have ever enjoyed. I loved this one!

This book was ok. It was sweet, really sweet. Mason was supposed to be dominant, and I concluded that Mary was supposed to be submissive based on her mentioning a Dom from two years ago.

Maybe it's me, but Mason didn't come across as being very dominant, and Mary didn't come across as being very submissive. Maybe they were just playing roles based on her books and I missed it.

They were cute, and adding in Pete, the dog, they were really cute. I didn't feel any real heat or chemistry between them.

The secondary storyline about the business detail, possible mob connections, and the underhanded deed was more interesting. I wish more time had been spent on that part.

A cute, quick read that was just ok. The Mason/Mary romance did absolutely nothing for me.

Mary, the erotic author, and Mason, the Biker/CEO/DOM, are the perfect match, though it takes these two awhile to figure that out, as they kept their true identities a secret. These two meet because of a sweet little dog and begin an unconventional dating relationship. Due to unforeseen circumstances it takes awhile before Mary and Mason see each other again but they keep in touch through texts, calls, and special deliveries. I was so touched when Mason had the Italian dinner delivered to Mary.
This story includes a subplot involving corporate espionage, lies, and danger. There are also a couple Pearls of Wisdom I found myself highlighting. As you would expect from this Series, there is “Spanking”, and hot sex, though I still the prefer steamy scenes without spankings. Rating 3.75

I absolutely loved this book. I loved the way that Mason took care of Mary. Pete was so cute. I totally want the dog and the biker! Mary was also very creative and brave when it was necessary. Not that Mason was too impressed! He was the perfect Dom for her. The relationship.between Mary and her sister was also well written. All in all a really good read with great characters, action, romance and the cutesy dog. What more do you need?

My kind of story.

This is such a fun series. A different trope in every book. Something for everyone. This one tapped into the billionaire trope. I loved how we got to meet Mason while he was on vacation and on his Harley. I must say though, Pete kind of stole the show. Well my heart anyway. This was a fun bedtime story with some suspense, intrigue, and betrayal, spiced with some hot, kinky romance. My kind of story.

I do not typically read MC books however Ms. Carpenter has shown me what I was missing. I am absolutely blown away by this book. This book is full of amusing and sassy dialogue and hot sensual intimacy that will have you squirming in your seat. The twists and turns were so well done that I was kept guessing until the end. I love stories with true entertainment, romance, and hot scenes and this story certainly has it all!

Sweet and sassy

Mason and Mary meet over a lost dog. It was sparks and strange emotions at first site.
I enjoyed this book as there was love and hot sexiness. A attempted murder and a secret match making going on from Mary’s sister.
It was a quick easy and enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend.

This is another great addition to the series. Mary found a lost dog. She fell in love with the dog but, not so much with his owner. Not at first anyway. This is a sweet and sassy story and I would definitely recommend it
