The Christmas In Evergreen series is a lovely, feel good series that never fails to bring forth a special and uplifting Christmas story. In Letter to Santa, Lisa, a traveling store stager, travels back to Evergreen a week before Christmas to see once more her favorite hometown of all. She hated leaving as a child when her parents were transferred by their jobs. She remembers the special Christmas all year feeling and wants to relive that for a short time. She especially remembers Daisy's General Store but now it is closed and about to be repossessed by the bank if it isn't sold. Ezra, the mayor of Evergreen, inherited it from Daisy, his godmother. Kevin is from Evergreen but travels for work. He is home for a visit for Christmas like Lisa. The two meet and become friends as they are enlisted to up give Daisy's a quick face lift for viewing by a buyer but their work is cut out for them. I can see how this is based on a Hallmark movie as it shows the Christmas spirit laced throughout with the townspeople chipping in to help Lisa and Kevin. They want to reclaim the Christmas traditions from before with the choir singing and Evergreen Church bells ringing. This is story of romance and healing for relationships and making new ones. Sweet story! I received a complimentary ARC from Hallmark Publishing through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.
This was really cute. I did like the first one better, but this was still an enjoyable Christmas read. I do think the love interest(Kevin? I forgot lol) was a little annoying because he would just jump to conclusions and then not talk to Lisa(?) and just run off. Other than that it was a fun and cute read.
I love Hallmark movies, especially Christmas ones. When I saw this book was available, I jumped at the chance to read it. Even better is that it is written by one of my favourite Christmas story authors, Nancy Naigle. It is the perfect Christmas read and when you finish reading it, watch for the Hallmark movie to be aired again this year. Lisa and her partner are stagers, but not for homes, for stores. After a successful job in Boston, Lisa hops in her car and drives to Evergreen. She lived there until she was seven, when her family moved and had never been back. Feeling nostalgic at Christmas, she ends up in Evergreen and quickly finds herself immersed in a project. Daisy's General Store was a place she loved, but Daisy has died and the store is now closed. The mayor of Evergreen, Ezra, now owns the store that he inherited from Daisy, his godmother, but it is in danger of being repossessed by the bank. He is trying to sell it, but it needs a lot of work. Kevin is also back in town visiting his father for Christmas. Lisa finds out that he is in construction, so she recruits him to help with Daisy's. Nick has some baggage that he needs to overcome and his lack of trust causes more than one misunderstanding. With a contractor, a stager, and a lot of community help on board, will they be able to fix up the store and sell it to someone who wants to leave it as it is before the end of the year?
This was a delightful story. It has all the things I enjoy in a Christmas romance such as likable characters, small town atmosphere, townsfolk working together, a Christmas festival, a bit of misunderstanding, a clean romance and happily ever after ending. I loved the history of the town and how they try to bring back the old celebrations. It was a feel-good story that had me reading it in one sitting. There was also a bit of a mystery thrown in that added another fun storyline. I definitely recommend this story to those who enjoy Christmas romance, especially if you love Hallmark movies. After you read this book, see if you can find the movie playing this year on the Hallmark Channel. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book upon request. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.
It’s really hard to get in the Christmas spirit when it feel likes over 100 outside, but I wanted to give one of these books that are written based on a Hallmark Channel Original Movie a try and since this one came up for review, I decided it was time. Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa is penned by Nancy Naigle and it is a sweet and sentimental Christmas story with a few romantic elements.
Lisa lived in Evergreen, Vermont as a child for a short period of time before her parent’s careers took them away. She’s never forgotten the feeling of Evergreen and how special it was or how hard it was to leave there. Owing a staging business that helps businesses maximize their space she and her partner dream of opening their own store one day and being able to arrange it how they love best. Before she returns to Boston where she lives when she isn’t traveling for business, Lisa takes a trip back to Evergreen to see if the town is as magical as she remembered. When she arrived she is immediately immersed into the town by offering her services to restore Daisy’s Country Store, the general store she so lovingly remembers, enough for it to be sold before a chain store comes in and ruins the town.
Kevin is back home in Evergreen to spend the holiday with his father no matter how difficult that might be. The holiday has never been the same since his mother passed away when he was just 9 years old and he and his father rarely see eye to eye on anything. When he is asked to help repair Daisy’s by December 24th when a buyer is coming to see it, he immediately says no, but the infectious Lisa convinces him to help.
Both main characters were good people willing to help out others in their time of need. I liked them both even though Kevin had a bad habit of making assumptions that weren’t true and making snap decisions. He was a bit of a hot head, but he was also quick to apologize. It was easy to see that Lisa loved the town and despite enjoying moving around, she felt a pull to the town and the people who treated her like family the minute she rolled back into town. Their story was sweet, they spent a lot of time together repairing and getting the store ready to sell and working to bring back the town’s Christmas traditions that were so important to both Kevin and his father. There was a bit of a mystery with an unusual key that turns up in a box in the hardware store and although it was predictable, it was just another layer of sweetness to this story.
This was a romance with a zero heat factor (keep in mind it is based on a Hallmark Channel original), I mean they barely even kiss and that comes like in the last ten percent of the book. I never really felt any heat between them, I don’t mind a good behind closed doors romance because sometimes the build-up between the couple can be intoxicating, but in this book it just seemed like a week in the life of two people who came off more like friends than anything else. That being said, Christmas in Evergreen – Letters to Santa was a sweet and fun holiday story, but the romance factor was lacking.
I rarely rate romance books four stars, but this was just the right kind of romance I was looking for at this time. Small town, good people, sweet story, and Christmas all wrapped into one. What else could a non-romance reader ask for?
This was a sweet, small-town Christmas story. Lisa is a busy retail designer who is constantly on the go. She and her partner travel frequently to stage stores for openings or special events. Her most recent project brought to mind Evergreen, Vermont, a town she lived in as a young child. Her family moved frequently, but Evergreen has always remained in her heart and mind. With her parents away for the holidays, Lisa decides to visit Evergreen and see if it lives up to her memories.
Her arrival in town brings even more memories flooding back, including the day she and her parents moved away. I ached for Lisa and the sadness of that memory. Her memory of Daisy's General Store and the comfort that Daisy gave her that day still holds a special place in her heart. Lisa is sad to see that the store has closed and that Daisy has passed away. The town's mayor inherited the store and needs to sell it before the bank repossesses it, but the store is in pretty sad shape. Excited by the idea of helping, Lisa offers to fix the place up to make it more appealing to a buyer. To do so, she will need the help of a local contractor, who turns out to be the same man she met on the way into town.
Kevin has lived in Evergreen for most of his life, but it was never the same after his mother died. His relationship with his father is strained, and Kevin is contemplating taking a job in another state.
I loved the first meeting between Kevin and Lisa. It's always fun when a guy is surprised by something a woman can do. I loved how they connected right away, and the teasing banter as they worked on the truck together. Underneath the banter, there were some sparks. Small towns being what they are, it was fun to see them run into each other several times over the next few hours, and how the sparks continued to flare. I loved seeing Lisa use her enthusiasm to overcome Kevin's qualms about working on the store. For his part, Kevin was reluctant since he couldn't see it getting done right in the short time they had, but he found himself unable to resist Lisa's entreaties. Over the next few days, as they worked on the store, they found they had a lot in common. I enjoyed seeing their friendship develop and see the attraction that simmered underneath it. Both resisted that attraction, though, as both claimed to be uninterested in a relationship. I liked how their friendship deepened into something more and wanted to shake them both as they continued to fight it. Just when things looked most promising, misunderstandings pushed them apart, until a Christmas miracle helped them see what was important.
I loved the underlying project of fixing up Daisy's store. The project itself brought Kevin and Lisa together. However, they weren't the only ones whose lives were affected by it. I loved the teamwork of the townspeople as it seemed that everyone found a way to help in some fashion. When Lisa discovered an old letter in the Santa Mailbox from Daisy's store, everyone got involved in reviving some of the older traditions of the town's Christmas celebration. The secondary characters brought added life and romance, making the story even richer.
This book, based on the Hallmark movie, is a quick, easy, feel-good read. Light on angst and intimate details, it’s a charming story where the enchanting town of Evergreen works its magic, bringing couples together and healing old wounds. The book stays true to the movie, but an added epilogue gives the author some creative liberty. If you’re a Hallmark fan and like your romance sweet, wholesome and heartfelt, you’ll love this one.
*I reviewed an early edition of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide feedback and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source.
Narrated by Kathleen McInerney. I enjoyed the movie and found the book to be charming (a word I don't use very often). For whatever reason, Christmas books seem to have weak characters (both in the creation and their actual actions) and a lot of strife (why is there so much death!?) This book is exactly what i was looking for. The people of Evergreen were nice and the women had wondeful friendships. The romance was sweet and the Christmas scenes were well written and evoked candy cane imagery.
This concept of having authors write books based on Hallmark Christmas movies is pretty cool. I was already familiar with this story, but my memory isn't top rate. It was nice to have the story come back to me bit by bit as I got farther into the book. This is a sweet, clean Christmas romance (Hallmark--what else). It warms your heart and makes you ache to go to such a place as Evergreen, where everybody remembers you no matter how long ago you left. Where you can come back to wonderful memories and people worth talking to...and maybe worth falling in love with! I was given a complimentary copy of this book by NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.
I love reading Christmas stories and this one checked all the boxes. If you have a love of Christmas and romance Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa is a sweet, funny and heartfelt romance. Do you love Hallmark movies? If you answer is YES, then this book is for you! It is a Hallmark movie that you can read. How great is that? Nancy Naigle is an excellent author that draws you into the story so easily and then the story flows so effortlessly that you feel like you are experiencing it, not reading it. She develops the scenery so well that you are transported to the town of Evergreen. I could even feel the cold and smell the pine, even though I read this book in June! The story summary is readily available, so I usually do not include that in my review, but I will say that this is a friendship to romance, my favorite type of story. I appreciate the love that is formed much more when two people get to know each other and then find love, the kind that leads them to a Happily Ever After. I want to thank Hallmark Publishing and NetGalley.com for allowing me to read the ARC of this book. My opinion is my own and not influenced by receiving the ARC. #ChristmasInEvergreenLettersToSanta #NetGalley

Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa by Nancy Naigle is a cute, heartwarming, and quick read that definitely puts one in the Christmas spirit (even in the middle of June).
A sweet read with romance intertwined (and if you have ever seen a Hallmark movie you have an idea of the infectiousness that they can bring), results in a pleasant jaunt through Evergreen, Vermont in the days leading up to Christmas.
I enjoyed the wholesomeness of the plot and characters. I enjoyed the idea that a challenge was presented and with a great attitude, fortitude, and perseverance Lisa, Kevin, and the town of Evergreen were able to succeed. I also enjoyed the mini mystery added in with regards to the letter to Santa. It added a touch of Christmas “magic” to the story as well.
I enjoyed the main characters (Lisa and Kevin) and felt that they were relate-able and likeable and I enjoyed the romantic moments interlaced between the characters.
All in all a great read. I was so interested, I was able to devour the book in one day.

Lisa has nowhere to go for Christmas and her parents are overseas so she decides to revisit her favorite childhood home, Evergreen. She hasn't been there in two years but it is just as magical as she remembered it. When she arrives she notices that Daisy's Country Store has been shuttered and is in disarray. One of the biggest surprises of all is finding the mysterious 25-year-old letter to Santa that never made it to the North Pole. Who really wrote it, and will its request come true at last? And will Lisa and Kevin figure out what they’re truly wishing for? I love these sweetly romantic Hallmark Christmas stories. Lisa decides to take a trip back to her hometown of Evergreen for the holiday. She has been hesitant to go back there but she only has good memories from Evergreen so she decides it is time to go and see what she remembers. When Lisa gets there she sees that Daisy's, a general store that Lisa vividly remembers, has been shut down. With Lisa being a retail designer, she decides to enlist the help of local contractor, Kevin, and see if they can stage the store and get the building sold.
Lisa and Kevin find the old mailbox that was used for letters to Santa all those years that Daisy had the store open. With it being so close to Christmas, Lisa decides that she is going to see if she can put the mailbox at Kringle Kitchen until they are done with the store. When they are moving it, a 25 year old letter falls out that helps them to bring back some of the old traditions of town that the townspeople always looked forward to.

Lisa is home in Evergreen, and dismayed to find the historic general store closed, and the former owner passed away. She is a skilled retailer designer, and hopes to bring the store into shape to entice someone to buy it and reopen it. She hires a local contractor, but things don’t quite go the way she envisioned. But there is an HEA, of course, since it is based on a Hallmark movie. It’s a cute, romantic Christmas story, a quick read that will leave you feeling good.
