Rate this book
Seveyn and Raakesh are back in the second installment of Own It with a jovial Seveyn ready to begin her life free of planners and control with true love in her heart. Life is supposed to be a breeze with a man like Raakesh in her life but that cool breeze turns into gusty winds once she realizes Chad is back to his old tricks.

Chad is doing his best to tear everything Seveyn is working toward down for his own selfish gain. Still a bum, he works overtime attempting to turn everyone against her. Chad is clever and uses the people closest to Seveyn to try and get her attention.

Raakesh is fed up with Chad and ready to make an example out of him. He is still doing his best to reassure Seveyn that he has her best interests at heart, but with everything happening loyalty is questioned. Will Seveyn and Raakesh make it after Chad tries to bring them down?

Thank goodness for Kindle Unlimited because these authors with their book series/sequels will have you spending all of your little coins. Plus, we readers do not like to be left hanging.😂

Yesss! Seveyn was a much stronger heroine this time around. THIS was the woman I was looking for in the last book. I was so proud of her for the way she continued to stand her ground and assert herself, even in the face of overdramatic antics and sheer foolishness coming from her parents and ex-fiancee'. I was surprised that the sequel turned out to be a bit darker than I imagined for this story. I mean, a lot of the things that went down were a little over the top, and sometimes a bit far fetched, but I have to say that it kind of worked for me.

So, just when I thought that Chad couldn't possibly be more of a jack@$$ than he already was, he managed to prove me wrong. He far exceeded my expectations and broke the heck out of my "full of BS meter." He was nothing more than a weak, scheming, evil man-child, but he finally got what he deserved.🙄

But Raakesh though?! That m*****f***in' Raakesh! That man was simply divine, and not to be messed with. I knew he had a little sumthin' dangerous just beneath the surface, and all it took was a dude like Chad trying to mess with his woman to bring it to the forefront. Not gonna lie, I cheered when Raakesh told that weak, punk-@$$ Chad, "Control. Alt. Delete!" Mannnn! Some of the things Raakesh said--his language--was downright hilarious. I might have to use some of these phrases in future conversations! C. Monet did not come to play, okay?!😂

And the way Raakesh continued to love on Seveyn...no wonder she was weak in the knees around him. "I can't wait to taste your damn skin, Seveyn. You just don't know what you do to me." Whew, child!🔥🔥 Like I said before: Chad--donkey's butt, Raakesh--gangsta dream come true.

As for the mother, Seveyn said it best: "Who created you? I mean I really need to understand if you were created on some planet no one has ever heard of." Seveyn's mother blew my mind! I just don't have any words for her beyond that. Damn! And her father...yeah, I just can't. 🙄

This has got to be one of the worst books I've read in a while. I read the first one because lets face it, it's hard finding a black romance book and i'm always on the hunt for a good one so when i find one i always give it a try. It was terrible and like a car crash i wouldn't stop reading.

Well this one was worse and i don't know where to start but here goes :

The relationship between the characters was underdeveloped, they fell in love way to quick. The dialogue was uninteresting and juvenile.

Every event that happened was just way to dramatic and unbelievable, i stopped reading when Raak or whatever he calls himself to her dad that he's her new daddy now. Really !?!? I wanted to stop when he turned up to dinner and his way of "handling" Chad was bringing out a gun . Seriously, that a really good idea.

The way the author fetishised Caribbean men really put me off ohh and also stereotyped in this book annoyed me .

This book was doing way too much. The characters were doing way too much and they author .... well who know what she was doing when she decided to write this.

Raakesh Is Bae 😍😘❤

My Own It Review(4stars): I like how Seveyn went on vacation to find herself and ended up finding the possibilities of love with Raakesh. I would have liked a little more of what happened next with them but overall this was a sweet love story.

Thank you so very much C.Monet for listening to your readers and gracing us with another book. I love the Daddy😉 Raakesh, the hood Raakesh, the lover Raakesh, the protector Raakesh, and the nurturer Raakesh. He stepped up to the plate for Seveyn and Javier. I wanted to know how Serita actually died but at least she made it possible for Seveyn to get custody of Javier. I hate how Mr. and Mrs. Crisco were so against Seveyn and kept trying to push her to still marrying Chad sneaky self. Since Chad didn't heed Sergio and Ivey's beatdown, I'm glad he got the ending that he received. It was good that Juanita, Roger, and JJ had Seveyn's back and supported her decision to be done with Chad. I love the family dynamics with Raakesh, Seveyn, Javier, and Raiyah and Dee, Sergio, Risha, and Ivey. I think we need a books about Roger and JJ because lawyers typically don't carry guns🤔🤔

Yassss Wreck’em Raak

Raak was EVERYTHING‼️and I love a happy ending. Now that’s how you take up for your woman. Yassss for “Daddy” pushing through at the dinner table! Lol. I can appreciate him for genuinely loving and caring for Seveyn after all she went through, when her own family turned on her, he was right there. I loved that he didn’t prey on her vulnerability, but assisted in repairing her heart, her life, her happiness and love. I’m excited that Seveyn got all she desired, deserved and then some! Great read!

Perfect wrap up to part one and I loved it... That damn Chad and Seveyn parents whew child throw them all away. Raak #bookbae was everything and then some right along with his brothers... Got me ready to move island side and seal my fate also... I loved how Seveyn friends and siblings were there for her and had her back in the most stressful season of her life sometimes when the world is against you solidarity from those you love is what’s needed. Definitely an 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟read all the way.

Love on Top!

Honeyyy Raakesh is just what the doctor ordered! That rough but loving and caring demeanor was everything. The way he protected and cared for his family and loved on Seveyn was the truth. I loved reading the sequel.. it conquered and delivered greatness. Chad got just what he deserved and I'm glad that Seveyn followed her heart. Excellent read that I highly recommend!

YASSS WRECK'EM RAAK

This sequel was everything. Seveyn definitely found the perfect man of her dreams when she met Raakesh. I loved their story from the first time i read about them in part 1. I was anticipating what was to come next after that ending and the sequel did not disappoint. It was everything i was hoping to happen with Raak and Seveyn. Beautiful story of heartbreak turning into finding that perfect match in a mate. Great job C. Monet

Your books are always a breath of fresh air! I love every story you tell!

I didn't think I would get through this! The raw and real emotions were a lot to handle, but I'm so glad I pushed forward! I think I held my breath and tears until the very end! Now I can breath! And these are happy tears! Lol! I feel confident about dealing with my "things" I know everything situation will work out for my good! Great job as usual!

Seveyn was way to good for Chad. Chad was the definition of a nothing azz guy. Only concerned with how he can capitalize. And her Mother disgusted me!! Her father was a beech guy azz well. Just throw the parents away. But Raak was the man with the plan who knew what he wanted and was ready for it. I loved the love story. We all must go through some pain to gain the love that we've been waiting for.

Let me tell you something this right here whew. When Rakeish told Sevyn you made me love you I felt all of that all of it. Rakeish played no games. As for Chad he got his he just couldn't leave well enough alone. As for Sevyn parents they were something else. I'm glad that Javier ended up with someone to love him. Loved this sequel.

Mayhem!!!

All I wanna say is, karma is a real side piece. She just won’t go away. I would love to know what happened to her parents. Chad got what he deserved but I wanted Raak to beat his ass. But Raaknis bae..the way he handled her parents at dinner would have any women sitting there with heart emojis 😍😍😍...a man after my own heart!!! Good job.

Loved IT!💕

"Own it, own it, own it"

Raak is BAE and NOT to be played with! He was with the mess when it came to Sev. I admire Sev's strength because although so much happened she continued to press on with Raak by her side.

That last line got me!

Thankies C. Money for another banger!

Everyone needs a Raak a man that knows how to be a man without making you feel like less than a woman. A man that shows love through action and not just with words. I wasn't ready for it to end!

Short but definitely sweet. There are no rules to family loyalty but when the prospect of a new family steps up and takes his rightful position.
