Gage is happy, happier than he thought possible. He has Wolff Mannheim, the man he has always loved, even when he hated him, back by his side and in his bed. He is confident that their relationship can only grow stronger as they continue to rediscover each other. When a letter appears after twelve years of silence from the family that disowned him and cast him out, he has Wolff to lean on. The contents of the letter have left Gage reeling but also have him reuniting with his estranged sister. When the shocks keep coming, it forces Gage back to his family home—a place he never thought he would return to. At least, this time, he has Wolff by his side as well as his sister. As Gage faces the man who threw him carelessly away, he proves himself to be the better man, a stronger man, than the one forced away so many years earlier. With all his demons put to rest, can Gage live his life with his one true love? This is book two in the Redemption Series and follows on immediately from Wolff, book #1. While it can be read as a standalone, it’s best enjoyed reading in order. Contains some very steamy man-on-man loving and is advised for 18+ only.
Hiding behind a quiet unassuming facade J J reads and writes hot sexy stories. Stories of men loving men as well as women loving men. What would the neighbors think!!
As long as the men are hot alpha's and the women are strong in their own right then they have a place in J J's books.
JJ also has a kinkier side and writes under the name of AG Silver. So, make sure you look out for those books too.
This is the second book in the Redemption series by J.J. Harper. The books must be read in order for a better understanding of the story. This one picks up right after the ending of Wolff.
Wolff and Gage's story continues as they grow stronger as a couple. It's a new beginning for both of them. They are both trying to make it work, despite their painful break-up, 12 years ago. Now they are older and wiser and know they are lucky to meet again, make amends, and put their past behind. They forgave themselves and really want to build a solid future together.
Their happiness is shadowed by a letter Gage received from his mother. At first I didn't know what I would do, because kicking out your 18 years old son is the cruelest of things! I know I could never forgive this, but I understood Gage's choice. He now had Wolff by his side. I was surprised by the angst here, as the first book was kind of light. My heart broke for Gage's pain. But he reconnects to his sister he hasn't seen is years and Wolff's love is more than he ever though he'll have.
I've read this one in one sitting, the writing is pretty light and there are many sweet but also hot scenes! Now I am curious about Banner's story!
I will start out with I did not read the first book but as far as everything goes with starting with book two, I was not too Lost. I will be going back and reading book one just so I can clarify some things and it would be my suggestion to start with book one so you will not have to go back like I am. Even still like I said, I was not too lost. This was a great read. I really enjoyed it. It is a continuation of book one which is called Wolff.
I really enjoyed getting to know these two men and you can definitely tell that they are meant to be together. Wolff is so caring and loving towards Gage. And Gage is the person that melts Wff’s Heart.
In this book, these two men get more in depth in their relationship. They explore more of their feelings for one another and things heat up between these two men. Both still have some worries about where their relationship is concerned but they are more then willing to go the extra mile.
Amongst everything being so new in their relationship, Gage is contacted by the family that shunned him. He wants more then anything to make contact with his sister but is afraid of what she wants from their relationship and if her views are the same as his parents. Wolff will have to decide if he is willing to stand with Gage through everything or if he is going to let Gage handle it on his own.
Wolff is also have a crisis of his own with his best friend Theo. Something is up with Theo and his attitude towards him and Gage being together.
How will Gage and Wolff handle everything that comes their way? Will they stand united as one or will they try and handle things by themselves. As secrets come out, lives are changed. How will it all go down?
I really enjoyed his read and I will most definitely be going backwards to read the first book now that I have read his one. I will also be reading Banner’s story when it comes out because I have a feeling it will be a doozy. Banner is Gage’s best friend and some of what happened to him is revealed in this book. I cannot wait to get the scoop in the next book and I can’t wait to get Theo’s story as well.
Was given this galley copy for free for an open and honest review
This one continues on directly from the first book. I liked seeing the progression of the relationship between Gage and Wolff. They communicated well and I actually liked that they took breaks, only single nights, away from each other at times. It gave them an independence.
In this one Gage's family rears it head again and we get to see the closure for Gage. I liked how this one was handled. The reasonings were understandable. I still didn't like what his mum did and didn't believe she deserved forgiveness to tell you the truth but Gage is the bigger person.
I adore Banner, so I am looking forward to his and Jasper's book next.
*** Arc provided by GRR. This is my voluntary and honest review ***
This is not one you can read, without reading book one (IMO), in this book we continue where we left off in book one.
I LOVE THIS SERIES!
This one will make you feel sad, happy, really angry and it will make you cry, but it's all worth it! Wolff and Gage couldn't be more perfect for each other and I was so happy with the "ending" we got.
You are my future, Wolff. You are my everything
I can't wait to see them in future books and I was sooooo FREAKING happy when I saw who the next book is with.
I loved this conclusion to Wolff and Gage’s story, of course you have to read Wolff’s story to understand their relationship. We pick up right where we left off in Wolff’s book with Gage and Wolff rekindling their relationship from 12 years prior. This book takes you through the the relationship Gage has with his family, or lack there of. I was skeptical about meeting his sister but she won me over and they picked up right where they left off. His mother and father were a different story until suddenly his mother is dying. Will the siblings forgive their dying mother? What about their harda$$ father?
Gage and Banner have a strong friendship and I love that about them whilst Wolff and Theo have their problems. I love the banter between Banner and Gage and Wolff. He is someone Gage relies on heavily when things go to hell in his life. I am looking forward to Banner and Jasper’s relationship developing or not.
I can’t wait for this series to continue. I highly recommend this book whilst reading Wolff’s book also!
I was given an ARC for an honest review and I have to say that I loved this book. You will need to read book 1 Wolff before you read this, as although a few of the things in the book are repeated, you will need to know the complete background of the two men to really appreciate the story. This book carries on from where book 1 left off and again it's written from both men's perspectives, which I like. Gage is now back with the love of his life, Wolff and their life both in private and at work is an exceedingly happy one. Everyone has accepted them a couple and all is well until a mysterious letter arrives on Gages desk. He recognises the writing to be that of his mother who he hasn't seen for over a decade. The arrival of the letter coincides with a possible sighting of his sister on the way back to the office after lunch with Wolff and whom he also has had no contact with since he was disowned by the family. After asking at reception, he finds out that his sister was the one to deliver the letter and he asks Wolff to destroy it as he wants nothing to do with them, ever. After his father sets up a meeting with a lawyer, Gage makes contact with his sister and learns all manner of family secrets and they decide to meet. This leads to a reunion of sorts and Gage can finally put the past to rest and move on with his life with Wolff. I loved the family plot twists and also the secondary characters and I'm really looking forward to finding out more about Banner and Theo in later books. I can recommend this book.
This is Book #2 and it's building back the love and trust for Wolff and Gage. This is a beautiful story of love and support. Gage and Wolff are building their lives together. Dealing with past baggage from Gage's family and with Wolff's support this is a beautiful love story. I can't wait to see what happens in Book #3 BANNER. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THE REDEMPTION SERIES!!!!!
I like that this one was more focused on one individual. Gage is a very sweet, kind-hearted man and definitely deserved a HEA. I’m still a little conflicted on how easily he forgave Wolff but not his family. I love the relationship between the two men and it really seems genuine. I was happy though to see Gage and his mom have a small reconciliation. Wolff is definitely redeeming himself in this book by standing by Gage through it all. Overall, the story is sweet and sexy and I love Wolff & Gage together.
After 12 years Wolff and Gage are back together. Both have realized they still love each other and are determined to make the relationship work. As they are settling into their relationship, skeletons from Gage's past reappear, parents who threw him out and disowned him and a sister who he thought was also lost to him due to their parents influences. Circumstances and truths bring Gage, his sister and mother together. What's next for these two? I absolutely love this series. As one of my go to authors, Ms Harper knows how to keep you engaged from the first page. Five Stars for Gage!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
As the second book in this series, I would not recommend reading this as a standalone. There is too much that happens in Wolff that is continued in this story.
We pick up where we left off with Wolff and Gage reigniting their relationship, but this time the story takes on more of a character background feel. When Gage starts receiving messages from home after 12 years without any contact he's not sure what to think. The story takes us through his relationship with his sister, his mother and his father.
Meanwhile, we get to know more about the friendship between Gage and Banner, as well as Wolff and Theo. And there's some interesting drama going on there!
I really enjoyed this book, but it felt like a bridge book to me... So much happened in the first story that this kind of evened out the relationships, divulged more information and got us all hot and heavy to learn more about Banner in the next installation.
Another great book, but I'm looking forward to the next!

Gage Redemption book 2, you will need to read Wolff book 1 in the Redemption series to follow the story. After Wolff left us wanting more, now even though we get to see what happens to Wolff and Gage you still finish the book wanting to keep going to see what is to come next. I so enjoyed Wolff and Gage’s story and how there friends where there no matter what, I read both books in one day because I just couldn’t put them down once I started. Well worth 5 Stars
Oh how I missed Gage & Wolff! I loved the first book Wolff, got pulled in, hated Wolff but all the changed before I finished book & I so loved this book(Gage)! I got drawn into it & it started from where it left off in Wolff(book 1). This book was a bit of a hard read with a couple of surprises, I was gutted at a certain part & cried my eyes out.... It was a great read for sure. The way it ended, grrrr... I need book three ASAP please!? A Must Read! Not a standalone, have to read first book.
Gage, book 2 in JJ Harper’s Redemption series, picks right up where Wolff left off, and must be read in order to fully understand the relationship these men share. Setting aside the sins of the past, this is a new beginning for Gage and Wolff.
Forgiveness and a bit of groveling give Gage Norton and Wolff Mannheim control of their lives once again. Letting go of the destructive and naive actions of their youth, they set out to rebuild and strengthen the connection that was once shattered; using what still remains for them to grab onto and nourish back to life.
As the title suggests, Gage tends to be the primary focus in this second installment. From Wolff, we know that Gage was disowned by his parents for being gay. So, it is a shocking surprise when his family reaches out to him. Gage wants nothing to do with them, except maybe his sister, Claudia…. Harboring a real fear of Claudia’s views on homosexuality, he’s uncertain if it is better not to know, or have his worst fear confirmed.
How much can one man endure? As Gage’s family drama unfolds your heart breaks for him and his “so-called family’s” secrets. Yet, it swells from the support and love Wolff provides. Man, Wolff just keeps on redeeming himself for his past. Or maybe the reader – in this case me – needs to let Wolff’s past go as well, so we can see him now as Gage’s loving and caring partner.
How much can one man endure? As Gage’s family drama unfolds your heart breaks for him and his “so-called family’s” secrets. Yet, it swells from the support and love Wolff provides.
Gage and Wolff have come quite the distance in such a short period of time. But JJ Harper depicts their journey in such a profound and eloquent way that it just fits, it works, making their travels thus far realistic and all consuming. Both men and their relationship capture my heart, but Wolff has the strongest hold.
With Gage we get a glimpse into something hinky with Theo, Wolff’s best friend and also with the budding relationship between Banner, Gage’s best friend, and Jasper. We can only surmise that these glimpses mean more to come. Given the sneak peeks, they will ultimately bring us more drama, hurt, compassion and happiness from the Redemption series.
I will, with absolute certainty, continue to follow Gage, Wolff, Banner, and Theo, absorbing it all as their lives unfold on the page.
Wolff is really trying to redeem himself. His love for Gage hasn’t diminish at all in twelve years. He was suppressing it because remembering his love also makes him remember the pain he has cause the person he loves the most. The love they have for each other is demonstrated through their sweetness and thoughtfulness, they both are very caring and loving and attuned to the other person’s feelings. It’s what a loving relationship is suppose to be, being open to each other, communication, and just saying how you feel are part of that, and if people can be like that all the time, I think there will be less misunderstandings, and so much more loving relationships. Ms. JJ Harper effectively conveyed that quality in the relationship between Wolff and Gage, of course after they buried the past (after talking about it).
It is not right for parents to just kick out their child for being gay,the repercussions of that kind of treatment can be seen in how Gage reacts to the mention of his family. Family is suppose to give unconditional love, love without prejudice. The effects of being banished can be felt in Gage’s reactions. We have to educate people on acceptance and love that knows no bounds, no gender, no color. This story educates us about that. It reminds us that any form of discrimination or abuse will have a profound effect on any human soul. We have to be careful in dishing judgments because it is not up to us to condemn people, we do not have that power. It is within us to love and accept. Gage and Wolff demonstrates the qualities that we should have, to seek redemption, forgiveness, acceptance, love and the right to give a person second/third/fourth…..chances.
Congratulations Ms. JJ Harper, Wolff and Gage collectively demonstrate the qualities that we all should have, to know when to ask forgiveness for wrongs we have done, the ability to forgive when something wrong was done to us, the ability to be there and give support to people who matter the most to us, and to be able to accept a person for who he is as a person, not because of his gender or who he loves.
Gage is book 2 in the redemption series and you do need to have read Wolff first to get the most enjoyment out of this read. Diving straight back into where the first story finished Gage and Wolff are together and happy, Wolff has made amends and they are moving forward together and getting stronger each day. It is then that Gage receives a letter, one that he tries to ignore until a sighting causes him to rethink, its here that he has to make some hard decisions. A tumultuous time follows for Gage but with the support of his man he is bound to get through it isn’t he? The other characters such as Banner & Theo are great characters and they play a pivotal role in the boys life and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for them... i think it will be fiery and explosive! J J Harper’s writing gets stronger with each book and she has cemented her place firmly amongst some of the best MM Authors around. J J is not afraid to tackle the tough subjects so with that, and her ability to produce characters that hold such passion and love for each other, you have the perfectly balanced book that keeps you both entertained and on the edge of your seat. That is what I call true talent. I have watched this Authors growth from the beginning and I’m astounded every day at how she just gets better and better with each book so with that in mind I certainly urge you to read this series, and get lost amongst the deliciousness of her boys. So do Gage and Wolff get their HEA, can Gage forgive his family or will they ultimately cause more trouble for the pair? 5 banging stars!!!
Gage, book 2 in the series, takes up where Wolff left off and may I say the author has done a fantastic job with both books in the series. Gage is very well written and the characters become even more believable as we delve into their lives.
In book 2, we get to see into the lives of Gage and Wolff as a couple. Their ups, their downs, the happy and the sad; their lives seem to be settling into a loving pattern just as any couples would in the real world. That is right up until Gage’s world is rocked when he receives a letter from home. A place he hasn’t been in 12 years since his parents threw him out of the house for being gay. Luckily for Gage has had his friends to lean on for the past 12 years and rise above it.
But now Gage is with Wolff, the man of his dreams that brought Gage’s lifestyle out in the open years ago when he played a cruel trick on Gage. But now that they are back together, is their love enough to get them through this awful mess or will it cause another riff between them? Will Gage fall apart or will he be able stand up to his past and show he’s become a better self made man?
This is a romantic storyline that was just a joy to read. I offer it 2 Thumbs up, 5 stars and Highly recommend reading both book 1, Wolff and Gage, book 2. And may I mention this reader is looking forward to book 3, Banner’s story; I just know it’s going to be a dandy.
Gage is book 2 in the Redemption series and it needs to be read in order after Wolff. Seriously, don't even try to read it on its own or you'll be lost.
Okay, so I can't believe I'm going to say this, especially with as not happy with Wolff as I was in book one, but he won me over in this book. He was very supportive and showed Gage that he was there for him however he needed.
I seriously hadn't seen anything of what happened with Gage's family in this installment coming and I loved how it showcased how far Gage and Wolff had come and how strong their relationship was. They brought the best in each other and it was nice to see.
I loved Banner, he was an amazing friend and I'd love to see more of him and Jasper. I really didn't like Theo, though, so if I don't see him again, it'll be too soon. LOL
Anyway, I really liked Gage and I think reading it one after the other really added to my enjoyment, it was a somewhat bumpy ride, but it had a great ending and I hope this isn't the last we're seeing of these characters. Very recommendable!
*** Copy provided to Bayou Book Junkie for my reading pleasure, a review wasn't a requirement. ***
This is the second bk in this series I started off reading Gage book first. I do suggest that readers read bk 1 title Wolff its will give you a better since of the characters. Other than that I was able to read this story. Good story plot. The main characters really are interesting and as I continue to read the book I really enjoyed the interaction between the main characters. No spoilers here I voluntarily review this book for my honest opinion.
Gage and Wolff return in the second book of the series.
A good story about the power of love and redemption. Can be read as a stand-alone but I would recommend reading the series in order. Good writing and mostly nice characters.
I liked this book. My only issue was that after the way he was betrayed, Gage forgave Wolff very easily.
Being back with wolff and gage was a amazing place to be
Following gage and wolffs relationship grow stronger i felt everything between them ups downs connection laughter intensity heartbreaking moments and heart warming moments i just loved it
Watching gage and relationship go from strength to strength made fall in love with them all over again
Lo leí por continuar con la historia. Pasan más cosas , pero sigue siendo muy simple sin que empatices con los MC. Eso sí, drama, sexo, drama, sexo... más drama.... mas sexo. Insulso del todo.
Love this series. The second book starts where ended Wolff ended. First, let me say I finished this book in one sitting and I didn't want it to end. It had so much angst, regret, anger, love, and forgiveness in it. We find out what happens to Gage when he was younger with family and Wolff was there for him. I don't know how I would feel if I discovered my best friend was in love with me. Gage handled it with patience and understanding when he was talking to Theo. The story was beautifully written and I enjoyed it.
Back to these two gorgeous men having each other back in their lives.
This is a story of the past coming back to haunt Gage 12 years later, a story of them both coming together to get through the tough times, love and building towards more.
We get more of an insight into the past. We find out more about his sister Claudia.
And we get more of Banner ... and I’m super excited for his story next!!!!
I really enjoyed the story line, I love Wolff and Gage and the secondary characters but something was falling flat with me with this book. I really love JJ Harper’s books, so it pains me to say that parts of the book fell flat for me!
So this is book two in this series and in order to truly understand this story and the relationships you really need to read book one. Just saying! This book picks up right where Wolf, book one left off. When I began reading this story I kept thinking, how much is this strong, beautiful man supposed to take? How much more pain is he going to have to endure before he gets his HEA? I really enjoyed our MC’s, Wolf and Gage, relationship and how supportive Wolf was during all the family drama. He really stood by Gage no matter what. Wolf has totally redeemed himself by lots of groveling, lots of loving and just being there for Gage. That part will make you smile.
Then comes the part that will make you angry and sad... his family. Family, you can’t choose them so some of us get stuck with trash. I wanted to throttle his family in the first book for how they treated Gage but was certain they were in the past. Then out of nowhere BAM, here they come like the plague. But Ms. Harper pulls a rabbit out of her creative mind and turns lemons into lemonade. Especially Claudia, his sister. This book made me spit flames, and made me laugh. At times my heart soared with joy and cry real tears for Gage. I love this series so far and can’t wait for more. Waiting for Banner!!! I was given a ARC copy for an honest review. I gave this book 4.5 stars
This book picks up where the first book in the series left off, so if you haven’t read it already, definitely start there. In this installment, Wolff and Gage are on solid romantic footing, which is good, because Gage’s personal life is about to take a hit in the form of the return of the family he’s been estranged from since Wolff outed him when they were both still students. Wolff is great here as an emotional support to Gage, although he shows less care for / interest in his best friend Theo, who we see clearly going through something in the margins of this story--but Wolff kinda can’t seem to care less… I felt this is in the first book and I’m saying it again here: I get the impression that Wolff is kind of a terrible friend. He’s a decent boyfriend, however, so I guess it all washes out? It is an interesting contrast, however, how callous he is with Theo and how caring Gage and his best friend Banner are together. It was nice to see Gage get closure from his family, and I am looking forward to seeing the development of another side plot in this book, which is supposed to be the focus of the next one, which is all about Banner.
*I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
From that review:I wasn't sure what I was going to find in the follow up story after reading Wolff, but I found that I actually connected far better to Gage (Redemption #2) by J.J. Harper than I did the initial novel. As I stated in my review for Wolff, it felt like that story, told by both main characters in alternating povs, was as much about Gage as it was Wolff, so why the title? Here is Gage it's clear that the main subject matter is indeed Gage, his past, and any affect it will have on his future with Wolff. The story picks up almost immediately after the envents of Wolff and their new commitment to each other.
Once again, JJ Harper did her thing....Gage and Wolff's story continues and it's as sweet as ever...I am sooo looking forward to more from them ❤️ This book starts off right where we left off in the first book and poor Gage goes through it in this one, I adored Wolff once again. Wolff had a mountain to climb in the last book as far as forgiveness and redemption... consider him redeemed!!! He has proved his love and then some to Gage over and over again with his steadfast understanding, rock solid loyalty and proof that no matter what he's by Gage's side always. I'm so excited to see what's next for them and for Banner and Jasper... I have a feeling his story is going to be a good one!!! I highly recommend this series!!!
* I received an ARC from GRR, this is my open and honest review *
Book two in this series, I read book one this morning, they are fairly quick reads, very enjoyable. I love Wolff and Gage, watching their love deepen and blossom is so sweet. The tons sex is fun to read as well. This one deals with another gritty situation, Gage's homophobic parents and his sister he hasn't seen in years, some homophobic slurs here but not much. I enjoyed this story as much as the first one and it built up the beginnings of the plot for book three. The author gives us a hint of another book soon centred back to Wolff and Gage, I sure hope so.
If you haven’t read the first book, you really need to before you read this one. This book picks up immediately where book one leaves off. I loved seeing Wolff be there for Gage when he is contacted by his parents again. These two have put their past behind them and are determined to move on. As Gage reconnects with his estranged sister, he needs Wolf there with him. This has been an excellent series about forgiveness and being better people. I have truly enjoyed it. I look forward to Banner’s book.
Gage picks up where Wolff finished, you need to read Wolff to get the most from this book. A well written second chance romance. This story was full of chemistry emotions and steamy bits.
Wolff did Gage wrong in school but now they are thrown back together, Gage has forgiven him and they have started where they left off. Friends and family provide the couple with challenges but they deal with them together.
A really good read, can't wait for the next book in this series.
