This book was just OK. It wasn’t a great read. However, I think it will be a tremendous reference book before one has to deal with people on an important level.

So I would say to browse it and take a look at what he says and then put it away until your next date, interview, or important meeting.

I lightly recommend

Ah I read this in one sitting as its not overly long or complex. Body language is an important tool for communication, and one where I feel I could definitely use some practice; especially as after lockdown, I may be a bit rusty. However, this book only grazes the surface of body language, and doesn't uncover all of the details.
I can tell the author comes from the west (I assume America) and thats important to know, as every culture has specific body language communication styles and this is only mentioned in passing and in super generic detail. In fact all that is mentioned is that in East Asian cultures, they like to bow. Most people will already know this, but what about human touch, is that frowned upon?#
Further, did I learn persuasion techniques from this book? No - except to mirror the person I am talking too. Copying someone can come off as disingenuous and patronising. Further, nothing is mentioned about talking to groups of people, and not individuals.
Ultimately the book is too superficial for any meaningful insights, and is instead more of a pamphlet on body language.

Very basic in its execution, like a powerpoint presentation at middle school classroom.
Most of the concepts are already known through common sense and culture in everyday life.
Adds little to explain each in detail.
Could be insightful to some, but most are probably already familiar with it.

I enjoy quicker books

A worthy read if you are interested in body language. Not exciting but as self improvement book do it covers a lot of important information that I didn't know and now plan to recognize and use in the future.

Good self-help guide

I found this book to be extremely enjoyable and useful. I was, however, disappointed in the extremely excessive use of contractions as well as the blatant misuse of the same.

"LEARN THE ART OF BODY LANGUAGE AND NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS!!! "

Three exclamation points at the end of the first descriptive sentence, a sure sign of insanity.

Poor editing - a couple of typos, inappropriate use of contractions and overuse of the ampersand symbol.

Overall some good pointers but just generic.

It was alright. A few good tips but mostly obvious nonsense with bad grammar.
