“When you showed up, I got scared. I have all these issues…Blaise, I was broken into a million pieces before I was even in kindergarten, and that’s what I am, broken."
“Maybe I want the job of putting the pieces together.”

Blaise and Chyna's journey to love.. 4.5 stars!

Blaise and Chyna's story was really one of insta-lust and immediate physical attraction, but neither was ready to make the commitment to each other just yet. They both had preconceived notions of who they didn't want to be that they both sabotaged their mate bond through their pride and fear. But with the help of their friends, family, and mate bond they were able to find their HEA ♡

I knew it I just knew she would be 10 times worse then her sister!!

This book was God awful nothing but chapter after chapter of horrible drama!! Poor Blaise was put through the ringer by this witch because of her insecurities and it was horrible! Chyna knew all about the dragons since her twin sister was already happily mated to Cezar, so like her twin she was also a virgin and it was on her same to-do list as Cherry to get rid of her virginity. So naturally when she comes across Blaise and finds she's is very attracted to him she figures what better way to lose her virginity then to a sexy Dragon. So first off stupid on her because she should know better after hearing of her sisters experiences with Cezar that these guys aren't out looking for one night stands. This author is another one of those that are pretty much rinse and repeat each book is the same as the first but with different characters and mildly different plots. They're all pretty much the same once the women meet the men they eventually get it on and then as soon as the deed is done they immediately run for the hills. This book was way worse then the previous ones because Chyna could feel Blaise's emotions she knew how badly she was hurting him and the witch still kept torturing him! Even after being away from him for months she comes back and has the nerve to go to him in the hopes she can have sex with him because that's all she's willing to give him is sex. This book was so bad I could never recommend it to anyone.

This was a good sweet and heartbreaking read. Chyna's sister married a dragon and now Chyna wants to have sex, but only as a one night stand. When she goes to a bar there are no men her age around until Armand walks in. She sits with him for a drink when his friends come into. Blaise is still looking for his mate and agrees to meet at the bar. When he walks in he starts getting these feelings that he don't understand. He sees Chyna and his dragon wants her. He is from the old world where men are dominate. What will Chyna do? What will Blaise do? Can he change? Can Chyna accept him the way he is? Can Chyna get over her fears of how she grew up? I received a free copy for my honest review.

Wasn't a favorite

I really did not like Chyna's character she was just plain mean. I understand she was scared but she was just so cold to Blaise.

This story is both fun and intense a great read!
This the third book in Candace’s series Dragons of the Bayou. The world building and characters cohesively came together and made sense. How can a bossy domineering thousand year old dragon shifter learn to be a excellent mate? Cooking and cleaning classes! Blaise came from the most backward kingdoms in the old word and from a domineering inflexible father. He knows two things he wants a mate and he wants Chyna as that mate. Chyna, Cherry’s twin sister (from Cezar’s book), doesn’t know how to do love or permanent relationships. Who would if you were dropped off in a orphanage and spent your whole childhood being shuffled around from foster home to foster home. The only constant love in her life was her sister. But Blaise is an alpha male with a heart! All he wants to do is take care of his mate. So he decides to learn how to cook and clean! There are some really funny scenes and some intense and salacious scenes between these two! Loved this book! Can’t wait for Remy (Blaise’s twin brother) and Armand to get their mates!

CAPTIVATING DELIGHT!!!
Man, I have to say this is one interesting tale. You have a fast paced, action packed, page turning bombshell that grabs your attention and holds steady till the last word. The characters are realistic, well developed and believable with just enough flaws to relate with. Their personalities are unique with qualities and traits that balance out perfectly. The scenes are so graphic and descriptive it paints a fantastic backdrop that really makes the storyline pop. The twists and turns, ups and downs, along with unexpected circumstances that make for one incredible experience. Throw in all the suspense and danger along with uncertainty and fear you have yourself one wild ride. Candace did a remarkable job bringing this read together beautifully. Thanks Candace for sharing this awesome read with us.

I thought this book was delightful. It has a fun storyline that is balanced out with plenty of heart. I loved Blaise and Chyna's book. Both these characters were complex and had baggage that weighed heavily on them emotionally and on their blossoming relationship. They were a study in contrast with how they tried to deal with this. Chyna was fierce and quite often came across as unkind or even simply mean. This did make her come across a very unlikable at times and although you knew it was just her way of protecting herself, it didn't ease the pain that she inflicted upon Blaise. Blaise went in the other direction and tried to overcompensate by trying too hard. In the end I was very happy to see these two wounded characters find love and get the HEA they both deserved. This is my sincere, voluntary review.

Blaise is an old-world dragon and not familiar with cleaning or cooking and is looking for his mate. Chyna is lonely now that her sister, Cherry, is mated to Cezar. So Chyna decides to look for fun and she finds the dragons at a bar. When Chyna leaves with Blaise she is expecting just one night of fun, but what she gets is a whole lot more. The description of the Louisiana bayou is realistic and believable. I laughed at the description of Blaise's castle, because I could see everything described. One of my favorite parts is when Blaise accidentally sets the cooking school on fire. Or when Cherry broadcasts Chyna's interest in Blaise to all the dragons. That is so funny. I can't wait for Blaise's brother, Remy's, story. I requested an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.

Keeps getting better and better with each one

Chyna, an agricultural professor, goes out to find a man for a night. Blaise, a dragon shifter, goes out that same night to find a forever mate. Little did they both know that reality was different than their wants. As the story progresses their pasts form perceptions of what they believe to be true, a dangerous situation occurs that brings the issue to a head and to get a happily ever after they must both make changes to their thinking and learn to be who they are versus who they think they should be. Candace Ayers' Dragon's of the Bayou series keeps getting better and better with each one. With emotional growth, steamy instant connections and realistic relationship issues; you can't go wrong reading this book.

ok this one is book 3 and it is Cherry's sister China's story and I must say China is a bitch....during the course of the book it comes out why she is such a bitch but if you don't finish to the end all you will take away mostly from her is what kind of a bitch she is....Blaise is a Red Dragon and in the old world he and his twin brother Remy are ROYALTY....Their Father was known in his Kingdom as the Demon King and he raised his sons to be the same so in this new world Blaise believes it must be the same way China is not interested in being a maid or a stay at home home maker so he has his work cut out for him if he is to win her after their first sexual encounter when he marks her as his forever mate....Different book from Cherry's good though quick fast and in some spots very funny.....Blaise is a Fire Breathing DRAGON of the Bayou.....

This book had all the steam and sass I expected, but what I really loved was how stubborn both characters were, for completely different reasons. Blaise is intense in that dragon way: confident, possessive, and ready to commit from the second he knows she’s his. Chyna, on the other hand, is all fire and independence, determined not to let anyone define her path—even if her heart wants to.

What made it work was the emotional undercurrent beneath all that bravado. Blaise isn’t trying to control her—he’s trying to show up for her in a way she’s never experienced before. And Chyna’s resistance isn’t immaturity; it’s fear, layered with self-protection and the belief that love always comes with strings.

It’s sexy, loud, and a little chaotic—but underneath it all is a story about learning to trust someone without losing yourself in the process.

Chyna and Blaise both felt the mate pull; where Blaise welcomed it, Chyna denied it and ran. Blaise craved the connection to his mate but questioned the relationship his parents had and feared he would turn into his father. Chyna feared everything about relationships and especially the kind her mother had. Because of her fear she treated Blaise abominably and knew she was doing it but just couldn't seem to stop herself. It took a lot of convincing from Remy, Cezar and Cherry for Blaise and Chyna to finally come to their senses and fight for a future together. I laughed at how Cherry still couldn't seem to get her broadcasting under control.

Stupid Female

Before I give my review I have to be honest and admitvthay I read a few reviews before I started the book. That is something I never do but because I've read book 1 and 2 I just HAD to know what other readers thought about book 3. So, I am going to have to go with the 5 star readers because Chyna was such a whiny, cold and snarky mate I absolutely despised her. And anyone that can write a book and gender such a reaction knows how to spin a tale! I just kept thinking Blaise deserved so much better and even though they got their HEA, well I still dont feel like she redeemed herself enough. I wanted to see her snatched by a gator or something. So, yes I enjoyed the book andcI will keep buying more until all the dragons are mated.

Blaise needs a woman to get him out of the past

Blaise can't understand how much his dragon brothers have changed since meeting their mates. He was raised very differently and led to believe that men don't bow down to a woman. So it was really fun and yet heartbreaking when Blaise comes face to face with his mate, who is ever more strong-willed than he is.

Chyna was a character that I liked overall but yet I got frustrated during certain scenes. I felt bad for the way that she treated Blaise after she realized how he felt about her and how mates worked. Towards the end of the book, it is explained why but up until then she was getting on my nerves. I wish this had been explained earlier in the book.

I look forward to reading more in this series.

Sadness 81% of Book

Blaise & Chyna’s story was difficult to read because it was filled with Chyna’s sad childhood in foster care from a very young age. Adding to that was Blaise growing up with an evil abusive father. I get it that life is not all roses and champagne but honestly 81% of story brought tears to my eyes. Then 81% to 91% is a rushed healing wrap up. Then 91-100% is pushing other books by author.

Haven’t decided if I want to go further with this series. Am just not a fan of any type of abuse and drowning in self pity especially not 81% of story. Candace Ayers is truly a hit or miss.

As always I commend writers for sharing their imagination and stories with us. Also thanks to Amazon Kindle Unlimited for such a great product at a reasonable price.

I bought the entire series at one time, I had read the first book in 2018, but I decided to start over since I had the entire series that covered all the dragon shifters. Chyna’s twin sister found her one and only in a dragon shifter, and she’s moving on with your life and everyone Chyna knows seems to be blissfully. Happy. Now all Chyna wants is to lose her virginity and she’s on a mission. What she didn’t expect was Blaise, another of the dragon shifters was going to be her one and only. She thought she only wanted a one night stand to lose her virginity but the pull was too much and there was no way that he was going to let her go now that he had her. One night together, and he had marked her as his, now all I had to do is convince her. I love this series.

“Fire Breathing Blaise” the third in the Dragons of the Bayou series is another fun, steamy, paranormal book by Candace. Chyna is looking to lose her virginity with no strings attached. She meets Blaise a dragon shifter who is searching for his fated mate. When he meets Chyna, he knows immediately that she is his mate. Although Chyna feels an undeniable attraction towards Blaise, she wants nothing to do with a relationship that will tie her down. Both Blaise and Chyna have problems in their past that need to be overcome. “Fire Breathing Blaise” is a captivating, fast-paced read with a few bumps along the way to the HEA.

I’ll be dead honest here, and it’s terribly double standards but if the roles in this story had been reversed and Blaise had treated Chyna like she treated him I’d have flung my kindle against a wall ... or DNF’d the book.
It wasn’t so I’m giving it 3 stars but the drama went on a bit too long. I started out feeling in unity with Chyna “you go sister, sort his nonsense out”, but gradually when she started on him about Armand I lost respect for her and liked her less with every action after that.

Scorching HOTTTTT

DAYUM!!! This series just keeps getting better! A feisty, independent heroine who feels shattered and commitment-phobic from her broken childhood meets an inflexible, arrogant alpha dragon king who wants to lay claim to her and wrap her into every nook and cranny of his life...annnnnddd also do his dishes!

Their connection is fire hot but will the practicalities of day to day mundane life tear them apart or will they learn to compromise and trust?

Super smexy, sweet, funny and with a great HEA.

He needs a mate. He goes out to a bar to meet his twin brother and friend. As he walks up to the table where she is talking to his brother and friend it stops him in his tracks that she is his mate. She is the twin of Cezar's mate. She has also been abused up to then. He had a horrible life too. But he doesn't know how to keep house or cook and looks like a slob. She keeps pushing him away. It is funny, suspenseful, emotional, dramatic and so much more. I highly recommend it.

Third installment of the series and its just as good as the first one with beast being beastly. Blaise and Chyna are two opposites and do not mix very well, but fate is never wrong, is it? Characters are amazing and the story line has no faults. Looking forward to the next book, not sure if it will be Remy or Armand, but who cares its going to be just as good as the others.

Blaise and Chyna

I must say I didn't liked Chyna. She was so mean to Blause! And while she was busy bitching and been rude to everyone around her , Blaise was working on himself, at been better for her. We do find out the reasons for her deplorable behaviour but it was not enough to justify it. I enjoyed this book, nonetheless and I more than happy to go on and start o Remi's book. Recommend

Review

Let's start with the positive, the writing is quite good, the story line has been fun and inventive. Now on the down side the male characters are likeable and pretty humorous, but their stuck with women who are nobody's idea of a good time I wouldn't walk across the street to have a cup of coffee with them, making me sorry for the poor dragons.

Fun read

Fun read. I enjoyed that these were women of color. Finally a storyline with a bit more meat on it having women of color as the object of affection. Alot of paranormal stories are less then 1 hr read it's like they have no content. So I was very satisfied with the story length and the character personality.

Wow!

This book was way heavier on the insecurity issues compared to the first 2 in the series, and my heart is still aching at the pain that Blaise and Chyna both experienced. This one was definitely a tear jerker, but still an absolutely fantastic read. Please read this series, you will not regret it!! Mature 👀 only due to 🔥shifter loving

Fire Breathing Blaise

My goodness she sure put her Dragon mate through the ringer. She's lucky that because he's her mate and willing to forgive her anything and willing to agree to anything to keep her. I know Blaise thought dragons to be so superior but his mate showed him she could bring him to his knees.

All or nothing

I love Blaise. He was rough around the edges hot, but his love for Chyna never faltered.
OMG Chyna!!! I kind of wanted to grab her and shake some sense into her. I understand her hang ups, but geez give the dragon a break already!!! Thank goodness she finally admitted she did love Blaire!!!
