At the age of twenty-six Sarah only ever wanted the best life for her three-year old son Tommy, and after living four and a half years of hell with Charlie, Tommy's father, a controlling, abusive and very violent man she manages to escape his grip. Now finally free of him, she feels for the first time in Tommy's short life that she can give him all of her time, love, devotion and the life he deserves but fate has different plans for her.Somehow she wakes up five years in her past, finding herself back with her first love John, and living back at home with her mum, two years before Tommy's birth.Struggling to come to terms with life without Tommy and the guilt she feels for failing him, Sarah needs to figure out why she is trapped in her own past. With nobody to turn to, and with only her faith in her guardian angel to help her, she has to make the almost impossible decision; follow her life path the same way, meet Charlie all over again and relive every painful minute of her abusive life with him so that Tommy will be born, or believe that fate has changed her destiny to give her a second chance with her first love John, the man she always regretted leaving.

If you’d lived through abuse or are living through it at this very moment, An Angel Came for You will be a difficult story for you to read. David J Howell described the mental and physical abuse in such vivid detail that it made me walk away from the story more than once. I never felt so much pain and empathy for a character in all my life. No one, and I mean no one, should endure what Sarah and Kristy faced on a daily basis.
David was correct; people stay with an abuser for multiple reasons. The victim stays out of fear, hopelessness, and (most times) for the child(ren). In many cases, the abused choose to end their own life.
Without a doubt, An Angel Came for You will tear you apart emotionally. You might cry. You might get angry. Most importantly, you also might find the courage to get out of your own abusive and toxic relationship.
Despite all the anguish, heartbreaking moments, the book did focus on the love a mother had for her child. It did give individuals hope that life could get better and to keep reaching for their own happily ever after.
I implore anyone in an abusive relationship to seek help; get out now.
An Angel came for you is the first book I have recently finished reading written by the author David Howell and this book is full of emotions, love, drama, and reality with empowering storyline.
The story has a very captivating and creative start which grasp my full attention and kept me hooked to the book until the end. The most interesting part is that throughout the book I felt many emotions and goosebumps which I believe is rear and shows skilled penmanship.
The author David Howell has described and portrayed the main characters with different personalities and struggles which is incredible, the characters were diverse and unique. The book is written lucidly and incorporates everything together like emotions, and mental and physical health, the smooth flow, into this plot was very touching and heart whelming.
The highlight of this book is, it shows us how talented David is with his writing skills, which not only made me feel lost in the book but also kept me hooked to the book d the flow of the story intriguing until the end.
Overall a story of emotional roller coasters. What will you do if life brings you a second chance? Will you take it and change your life forever? Or continue the same life as it's familiar?

The level of drama in this writing is incredible, i have not read a book like this for a very long time. Wonderfully written with the main character, Sarah, being both inspiring and frustrating in equal measure.
I will admit that the twist was, at first, slightly off putting but it was resolved brilliantly ensuring the story tied together.
This has to be the most uplifting, heart warming book I have ever read. So many emotions I felt whilst reading. Tears at the end, happiness and belief does exist, even in the most dire of circumstance. I truly loved this book and will be a keeper. When life throws me some curveballs I will pick this up and read again, a kind of my bible of belief. Thank you David for your penmanship.
This is the first book our new book club has read. When the book takes a turn somewhere in chapter 12? Or so, you will wonder what is going on? If you are skeptical, or analytical you may be questioning everything. If you want to be entertained you will read on and follow the story. It was a page turner. Great ending.
This is a book that will captivate you from the start. The prose is well written and Sarah is a well rounded main character who makes a few bad decisions in her life. I would really like to reccomend this book to teens looking for something deep to read. It really captivated
This story was a slow-burn and page-turner at once! There is a bit of proofreading/editing need done, and perhaps D. Howell could work a little more on writing women's emotions more authentically BUT when the story is this amazing, that all falls by the wayside. Extraordinary.
A wonderful book I could not put it down till the end. But i know I will read it again it gave me goose bumps too . I loved it I will recommend it to my family and friends . Brilliant read x
From the first few lines I was hooked, I throughly enjoyed it and found it impossible to put down. The story switches between time zones, and really kept me wondering what the outcome would be right up to the last page. Brilliant read.
I loved the storyline. It gets a bit repetitive somewhere in the middle but the last few chapters are certain to give you goosebumps. A very light hearted, feel good book that teaches you to remain hopeful regardless of the circumstances.
