It’s hard standing here, in front of you, and not kiss you… How can something so wrong, feel so right? "Best Fantasy Romance ever! I love everything about this book. It is exciting, funny and has a good portion of action. Looking forward to the sequel."

"Crazy good debut from newcomer Skylar Layzer. This book is a real page-turner with compelling characters that you will just love."

"Highlight of the year. Hands down the best novel I've read this year. The story is captivating and unique, delivered in a fluid writing style. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!"

Emilia has been waiting for months, for the old gift of the Blood Aristocracy to awaken in her. Even her best friend doesn't know. The laws of the Blood Aristocracy are very strict and under no circumstances is it allowed to share knowledge with outsiders. Things get even more difficult when she meets a gorgeous Luzius and sparks are flying. While she struggles with her feelings, the problems have only just begun. Too bad that Luzius is forbidden fruit. Being with him is against the rules of the hidden society they are born into. Little did she know that this encounter would turn her world upside down.

Luzius made a sound deep in his throat, and the rawness of it made my legs turn to jelly. With a moan, he pushed me against the hedges and I felt the heat of his touch in every cell of my body—until I realized what we were doing. Luzius’ fingers on my waist were like flames singing my dress, and I pushed him away, panting, and staggered a step to the side.My chest heaved and a thousand thoughts whirred through my head. I was hopeful the kiss had worked, but also ashamed that I had enjoyed it so much.

Hello Stranger is the first book in a series of Gifted contemporary fantasy romance novels.Let’s explore the mystical story of Luzius & Emilia today!

I’ve always been passionate about storytelling and impressed by the influence it has on people and the decisions they make in life. I love engaging with the projects I work on, diving headfirst into the research, investigation, and production of stories I feel are worth writing about. I am a curious and proactive Author, interested in preserving the foundations set by classical literature by adapting them to modern themes and trends.

2.5-3 ish stars. I think that this book and series has a lot of potential. The reason it rated lower for me was because The book itself had a lot of buildup and never really got anywhere. There are a lot of sidelines being talked about and focused on and nothing really happening for the main characters till the very end and then boom the ending. I thought the writing was good and easy to sink into and I had no problems with the characters they were relatable for the most part. I don’t think the magic system was explained in depth enough for me, personally. World building wise though I could get a picture, the supernatural community portrayed in this book seemed a little glossed over almost like a sequel in a series.

Basically our FMC spends most of the book waiting for her “bright one” gifts of life to arrive all the while some sort of backstory plot is going on with the opposing dark and bright houses. I think maybe the author is trying to build up toward a war between the dark and bright houses. When her gifts arrive in tandem with her new crush and they are opposite of what’s possible for both of them, her life is turned upside down and then end book one.

This may be a series I check back with later because it was interesting. I just feel like this first book just wasn’t enough to completely grab me. Hopefully book 2 will be a little more MC focused and we can go into more depth on the characters abilities.

Emilia has been waiting for her blood gift to manifest. She is part of a Bright family whose power is to give life, heal, etc. As she waits for this to happen, she meets Luzuis and feels a strong attraction to him. Unfortunately, she is under pressure from her society and family to marry another Bright boy and have babies to further the bloodline. Luzius doesn't fit the bill but she continues to enjoy time with him anyway. When a fluke accident at school reveals

This was an interesting premise. I feel like there are still a lot of questions regarding the world building, but it was a good start. I still want some more background information about the blood gifts and why the Brights and Darks don't like each other. Also, I admit that I am revolted a bit by the treatment of women as broodmares in their society, but at least Emilia is equally revolted. It looks like Emilia and Luzius will so I am hoping that more of the world will be fleshed out then. Even though I'm only giving this one an average rating, I am still intrigued enough to keep a lookout for the next book in the series. I think this series has a lot of potential.

God’s gift or a curse?
With this book, the author has achieved a very exciting start.
As a reader, I was directly drawn and captured into the secret world of the blood aristocracy and the, sometimes, cruel laws (recorded in the Scarlet Book). You will not be able to put the book down until you finished it.
Emilia and Luzius have different blood and yet they share a fate and become victims of the high and mighty dynasty ...
With each page I read, I became more part of this fantastic story.

Wonderfully written and has the most amazing, unique plot I have read in a long long time. It has a healthy portion of fantasy and romance, without the story relying too much on it. These elements just make the book better.
The characters, especially Emilia, are very authentic and it is just very entertaining to read about them. Very interesting twists that I could absolutely not anticipate. Gripping until the very end. Can’t wait for book 2.

This author has captured my attention. The first book Hello Stranger is captivating. I love this authors vision of the gifted world of life and death.

Thinking your are destined for one life, and having that idea turned on its head is thrilling. I am sure these characters are in for a world of love and hate. They have certainly had a very unconventional start.

I can hardly wait to find out what is in store for these characters in book two. This whole world is very intriguing.
