Five years ago, Petty Officer Orion “Wicked” Cross met and fell secretly in love with CIA officer Katherine “Kat” Harrington, and their mission together went bad. Even though Wicked wasn’t at fault, Kat blamed him and they parted bitterly. Now she’s missing and regardless of the bad blood between them, he’s going after her like he would any other hostage. Maybe it’s time to clear the air and put their past behind them. But it all rides on an unforgiving woman, who’s been honed and jaded by many missions, yet his heart has never let her go.

Kat is on her own personal mission and having to be rescued by the one man she wants to avoid only adds fuel to that inner fire. She still blames him for her fiancé’s death and has never given him a chance to explain or mend fences. Except on this mission where nothing seems to go right, they find themselves thrust together on the edge of mortal danger where the lines between combatants tend to blur. With Wicked constantly on her six, invading her personal and professional space, could the truth about what happened change her mind or tear their fragile love apart?

5 - Something Wicked this way comes... Stars!

Book seven in the SEAL Team Alpha series took me right back to my happy reading place with the guys in general, and especially with Orion ‘Wicked’ Cross and Kat Harrinton’s story finally being told. The hostility between them has been visible for a while, but you haven’t been given the full low down as to why.

Why did he always have to look so damn good..?

I love this series, you literally never know what’s coming next, what country the Team are likely to end up in and when or where stuff starts getting shot at or blown up. But all the while it’s the relationships that the men ultimately forge with women that in the main they have met along the adventure, not with these two though. They have a past, its spans years, includes family and once again as is generally the case with this author, didn’t pan out as I was expecting it to, which I love because it keeps you on your toes.

"I knew you would come for me…"

Kat and Wicked have an awful lot of past to work through before they can even think of looking to a future together, working through those issues isn’t easy though when you are also traveling to terrorist and hostile hotspots at the drop of a hat looking for wanted criminals, warheads and all sorts of other unsavoury things, as well as being double-crossed by a potential team member. But the author managed to merge it all together really well again. Action, adventure and romance, what more can you ask for, oh and lots of sexy SEALS with great banter, that’s always a good selling point too.

"We’re in this together."

Hollywood is up next, and it’s easy to understand why with his POV, and involvement with the bad guys having quite a large input into this story as well. I love these guys and long may the series continue!

This series just keeps getting better. The first chapter grabs you immediately and you will not want to put it down. The writing is so good that I could totally picture in my mind the room Kat was in and see every move she made. I could feel the emotions both Wicked and Kat were feeling. I could feel the tension between Wicked, Kat and Brandon throughout the book. There is just the right amount in suspense, intrigue, drama and a few hot steamy areas as well. The storyline had quite a few surprises and twists that I wasn’t expecting which kept me on my toes.

Great Series

This series is one of the best I have I have read. Need to fix a definition in the glossary. IED is an explosive device, not an incendiary device.

Absolutely my favorite in this series so far! This story is emotional, nerve wracking and gut wrenching, yet it is hot as hell🔥🔥!! Wicked and Kat are a match made in heaven. Both are strong, independent and highly trained operatives who have past history - both at work and at a personal level. This is a story of letting go, forgiving and moving on with the life you deserve. Great book!!

There is never a single moment in the seventh book of the SEAL Team Alpha series where the scene being described is not totally engrossing. Either action is taking place or intense emotions are being expressed, and often these two are occurring at the same time. Zoe Dawson definitely put her heart into this story, where every development is particularly believable and the true nature of each character shines through. I have enjoyed all the books in this series, but WICKED deeply touched me in ways that I am rarely affected.

After a previous mission did not go as planned, the life of Orion “Wicked” Cross has never been the same. He does not open up to anyone, and he lost the respect of the one woman for whom he cared. When Katherine Harrington is captured in a foreign country, it is up to Wicked and his fellow SEALs to rescue the CIA agent, and he plans to keep his emotions in check. The two will always be connected by a painful past, yet both need to put everything behind them and move on. But crossover assignments keep coming, and they cannot keep from being drawn to one another once again.

From demanding missions to escalating personal troubles, WICKED kept me enthralled with circumstances that were constantly realistic. Every detail seemed very accurate, thus making me never question the credibility of an event. Any assignment undertaken by Wicked, Kat or his team came across as true-to-life, and I felt the escalating tension of each harrowing second. What these individuals had to live through at times caused me much anxiety, as I had no clue as to how things would eventually end up. Zoe Dawson certainly ramped up the danger in this story, where nothing is ever guaranteed until the situation plays out.

The emotional storyline in the book is one I will not soon forget, as surprising facts were disclosed when least expected and these turns brought huge challenges into the lives of Wicked and Kat. I became fully invested in what would ultimately happen to this couple, as they were so likable plus spirited. It was also fabulous getting to revisit with so many past couples, and getting to meet several new characters has me hoping each one gets their own future story.

Book 7 of the series. I would suggest you reading the other books before this one to understand the characters especially for this one as these characters have been in many other books.

If you want a recap of what the book is about, please read above the reviews.

We've met our hero and heroine in prior books. You could tell they had chemistry but were fighting it the entire way. However, now the heroine has been kidnapped and the hero knows why. They had done a black op to get information for one of their teammates and its come back to bite them in the butt. When they tried to find out why the heroine was there, it was because of a mission but they won't be told anything else. Our hero doesn't like the heroine's boss and that comes through crystal clear.

However, even after a bit the heroine decides she has to trust the hero at some point. They start to rebuilt the trust. However, their background of her being engaged to his dead brother is something they don't think they can get past. Or can they?

The plot, if you read the above carefully, is again one of original lines but updated with a few pretty good curve balls thrown in. It keeps the story moving and alive. The ending is a great way to bring the family full circle and that includes an updated circle with the SEAL team.

This book ends a bit differently than those of the others. We've learned a bit about the next SEAL in following story, but not much about the connection from this one. Interesting... can't wait.

Wicked by Zoe Dawson
SEAL Team Alpha Series Book Seven
Orion “Wicked” Cross had been frustrated ever since the redhead has entered his territory in San Diego. They shared a past...and it wasn't a good one. Yet, they keep getting thrown together on missions. The tension gets tighter and tighter until it's ready to snap. They are going to have to deal with it...one way or another.

Kat Harrington is a deadly CIA operative. She's determined...as the Marines would say...to not leave any man behind. And she has someone from long ago to find and bring home. And now, she's found herself in quite a mess and needs rescuing. Deep down she knows Wicked will be doing the rescuing. Maybe it's time to face him and talk.

Lots of action as these folks go out to protect the world...and each other. Even if from themselves. The reader can see where Wicked and Kat have clashed at every turn in the previous books in this series... And now, it's their story. Looking forward to the next book, Hollywood's story.

This seventh book in the Seal Team Alpha series by Zoe Dawson continues to deliver spine tingling action and adventure with just a touch of betrayal and a whole lot of love thrown in for good measure. This book has the team going through their non-favorite terrorist territory as they struggle to find and free special hostages who just happen to be their teammates and friends. It is of course about the developing love story between two characters who have fought against it for as long as they possible could, before finally giving in to the inevitable, and accepting their fate together. The action is solid. The characters are once again described is such strong detail the reader can almost see their big muscular bodies before their own eyes. If she keeps writing these, I will keep reading and reviewing them. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Prolific Works.

We are back with SEAL Team Alpha and another action filled story. This time the story belongs to Petty Officer Orion/Wicked Cross and CIA agent Kat Harrington.
These two have a tragic history, when a mission they were involved in turns upside down.
Fast forward five years, and Wicked , though the mission’s failure was not his fault, still feels responsible. Especially since Kat blamed him for the failure. When Kat goes missing , he’s determined to find her.
Kat is on her own and has no desire to deal with WIcked. But fate puts them together, running for their lives.
A non-stop action packed plot, filled with bad guys, a hunky good guy and a gutsy woman. These two are complex and imperfect characters, which make them that more likable.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This book was just ok for me. I once loved these books, I've read most of them in this series, but I may be out-growing them. It took me forever to get through it because I just couldn't get into it.
I've never cared for all the silly nicknames authors use for these SEAL team books. I didn't really feel any heat between these 2, Kat and Wicked.
It really follows all the same story line. Girl and Boy meet, they hate each other, have personal issues, someone breaks, they become lovers, save each other and the world. I don't know, just fell flat for me.
The focus put on the character, Hollywood, interested me more than Kat and Wicked. I know the purpose of that is to hook you into reading Hollywood's story next, and it probably worked. I wanted more of Hollywood and less of Kat and Wicked.

Better than the best!
I was so pleasantly overwhelmed by this book, Zoe did exceed her writing skills this time. This is now my favourite of this series and I cannot stress highly enough how much I love it. The plot is dense, complex, really well developed. Emotionally charged to the max, the internal conflicts and doubts take it to another level. The chemistry between the characters is intense, an explosion of feelings. To say Wicked is hot would be the understatement of the year, this man is beyond any measurable level of hotness!! Make sure you read this whole series in order so you do not miss any of the amazing characters and their interactions building up to this story. Counting the days for the next book, the wait is killing me!

WARNING: Difficult To Put Down Once You Begin!

This is another stellar story in the Seal Team Alpha Series! Action packed missions and beautifully written love scenes.... you don’t hold back Ms. Dawson. The missions are raw and intricately detailed which makes it easy to really “see” the action. Characters are very well developed. The problem I had with this story was that I found it SO difficult to bookmark when my adult responsibilities needed to be tended to. I simply love each member of the team and the brotherhood. Good to see Wicked and Kat reconciling, finally. Looking forward to Hollywood’s story. Hopefully readers don’t have to wait too long for the release..... please!!!

Love, love this book. Wicked works for this series fitting seamlessly, Orion Cross is carrying so much guilt and shame over the woman he loves. Kat Harrington the CIA liaison for the team and Orion's brother's fiancee carries her own burdens. Her father mysteriously disappears his body never discovered, the person who is betraying the team, and her attraction for Orion "Wicked" Cross. Who is leaking information on the team and responsible for Kat's kidnapping and Amanda's betrayal. So much action and suspense. Lots of truly Wicked passion, and such a great conclusion. You will love this book, probably one of the best in the series. Congratulations Zoe for another great read !

I knew it was Brandon. Great story. Lot of action, suspense, torture, treason, pain, frustration. Kat us super women. Wicked has many scars. Many at his mother’s hate and non forgiveness. Plus the pain of not being able to save his brother. Kat and Wicked finally put the misinterpreted past over Phoenix’s death the past 8 years to the hear and now. Their love has been hidden for the past 8 years and finally unleash it to save their souls and their future. Once Alpha team’s Brotherhood remains strong.

Another "brothers ex" in the series. I don't like brother/sister sharing it is just GROSS. She was engaged to the brother that died but was in love with Wicked during the engagement.

I wanted better for Wicked but sadly, he got Kat. I don't like her! The author tried to make Kat somewhat likeable but failed.

This authors aversion to condoms is repetitive "I'm on the pill" is in every book...he wears a condom with a random hookup so why not with her?

Omg it’s beyond perfect

Ok Zoe Dawson has well out done herself!!!! This book has ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING a reader could want!!! Drama, action, love, unrequited love, parental conflicts, personal guilt, a hell of an HEA. Just the right combination of storyline and heat and an exciting lead in to the next book without a cliff hanger

Been dying for this story since Kat was introduced as a side character a couple books ago! Finally we get to dig into the drama and the history between the two who care so much for one another, whether they love to hate or hate to love one another. What a thrill ride now that we're here, too!
