On the first day of school, Wei Ru Song accidentally fell in front of Xiao Nian’s dick. With his girlfriend witnessing this incident and thinking that he was giving another man a blowjob, this led to a series of misunderstandings.

In a world where LGBTQ+ novels constantly gives us heart ache and despair, it is nice to have books like these that brings in a fresh breath of air. This is what college is all about. Friendship, failed love, new love and all that in between. For me personally College was just another stepping stone to our so called 'adult-life'. Once when we are out in the world, it almost feels as if there wasn't much in academic sense that we truly learnt. Rather that it was just a space for us to grow up and mature. Thus this book almost rang true with my own experiences of college (and no, by this I did not mean I was mistaken through out my college life that I was in a relationship with my roommate XD but rather the bantering between friends and the thirst for gossip).

This novel is short yet extremely hilarious. From the first chapter of misunderstanding I knew I was in for a wild ride of hilarity and I was not disappointed. Every single chapter had a hilarious incident that makes you snort out laughing at the end of it. There isn't much that you can get from this novel but some light hearted comedy yet it is not bad. In terms of the comedic sense this novel truly hits the nail on the coffin. If I do get a chance I truly will check out more of this author's works.

DNF. I was looking for some "no-brainer" danmei just to cool my head and I stumbled upon this one. I knows it's supposed to be those kind of stories where you just have to go with the flow and my brain registers that it's supposed to be funny, but I can't seem to enjoy it. It's predictable, ridiculous, and boring me out. So, I'll just give this one a try some other time. Maybe I'll form another opinion when I am in a different state of mind.

Wei Su Rong was happy because he got the room that can fit 4 students, all by himself. That is until a junior was station there. The rules stated that roommates can only be from the same study year but because both ware late in registering and there's no more room, Xiao Nian was to become the new occupant.

A misunderstanding started when Wei Su Rong's girlfriend saw him and Xiao Nian in a perplexing situation. Rumors started flying left and right until both Wei Su Rong and Xiao Nian decided to let it die by itself. The funny thing was, the classmates and even teachers were open with the situation.

In term of plot, it's a cliche story. Two people met in college, got to know each other and spark flew. But, the story was funny and light. And I kind of like when a tsundere falls in love first.

Aí gente, eu queria dizer que as partes engraçadas e um casal fofo sustentaram essa leitura como me foi prometido. Mas não rolou. Não sustenta nada não, história chocha, sem graça, sem sabor, promete e promete no hot mas não serviu nem para dar uma leve brisa de vapor, nadaaa. Uns conflitos sem pé nem cabeça que chegam do nada e saem do nada. O PROTAGONISTA FOI QUASE ESTUPRADO E O ABUSADOR SAIU OK? ah tenha santa paciência. Além disso, que ANTA de protagonista, meu deus que homem BURRO. Como uma pessoa dessas vai parar em uma faculdade gente? O ML nem vou comentar, até porque sem desenvolvimento não tem nada para falar sobre ele mesmo *risos*. Enfim, dá pra rir? Dá, mas não é bom. Tem melhores se vocês querem dar umas risadas gente, pulem fora dessa.

I had hard times rating this story because, from one side, it's funny and I know how tricky it is to write a humorous novel with a sense of humour that doesn't sound overdone or forced, and from another the storyline itself isn't extraordinary.. I hesitated a lot but I will finally rate it for what it is, taking into consideration its category and the audience that it targets, I'd give it 3 stars because the purpose of every book is not to be a masterpiece of word-crafted nonsense but, simply and ultimately, to make the reader smile... and this purpose is reached with this novel.

pros: great main and side characters and nice/fun dynamics, pretty comedic ngl ft second hand embarrassment but done in a way that didn’t make you suffer but was mostly funny instead, short n light read, great pacing

cons: mc gets drugged by a random dude at a club (love interest luckily rescues him before anything can happen) and is super oblivious and s*upid about it and tries to give the man a chance to be his friend later on (luckily doesn’t happen in the end) which felt really weird and tonedeaf, there’s this one colonisation reference during their first s*x scene for some reason? felt out of place n odd

Me esperaba más de esta novela. El protagonista, es demasiado estúpido.
Y la forma en la que empiezan a salir.... Me ha decepcionado mucho.
Y luego veo que ha sido muy apresurado, mientras de hacer al Protagonista tan inseguro y sin sentido durante varios caps vacios alargar más su tiempo de pareja.
También me hubiera gustado saber sobre la pareja secundaria, me ha atraído su dinámica.

i feel like if i rated this after say chapter 7 i probably would've put it higher because the dumbass energy powering the story was honestly pretty hilarious! alas, the jokes really couldn't be sustained for 30 chapters and it was a pretty stereotypical story otherwise

I didn’t expect this danmei to be soo freaking adorable!

I mostly read Love Stops Rumors because it’s rather short and because it’s a lighthearted rom-com type danmei.

The book follows the MC, Wei Ru Song, who is a second year in college and has the most beautiful girl on campus as his girlfriend. When the MC goes to his dorm to meet his new roommate he accidentally slips which leads to him getting spotted in a provocative position by his girlfriend, making her think he’s sucking on his new roommates dick and making her believe he’s gay. Wei Ru Songs’ roommate, Xiao Nian is his junior who is also extremely beautiful and rich. After his college hears rumors of him sucking his Xian Nian’s dick, WRS keeps getting caught in more misunderstandings by others around him leading more and more people to believe that Xiao Nian and Wei Ru Song are a couple. The rest of the story follows the MC and ML trying to stop the rumors, while simultaneously making things worse and falling in love with each other in the process.

Honestly I really didn’t expect this one to be as cute and oddly wholesome as it was. The MC was actually so adorable and I loved how clueless he genuinely was at times and how the ML also went along with his antics. The misunderstandings in each chapter were also super funny and I like how the novel didn’t drag the chapters or the overall plot. There is basically zero angst in this one too and the whole book is just fluff, comedy and a little smut.


I also ADORED the main couple and really liked their character dynamics in this one. Neither MC was cold or aloof and I liked how they were both super open minded with the MC being a little stupid but sweet and the ML having a cool but doting personality. I also really liked how the MC was the shou but was older than the ML it weirdly worked super well in their dynamic. I also found all the side characters to be super funny and I liked how literally no one was a bad person in this story (unless you count that one guy who tried to drug MC).


Overall I found this to be super entertaining and I managed to read it within a few hours! It also didn’t drag or feel slow at all for a comedy danmei. Loved the main couple and I adored their relationship, they literally had the perfect mix of cute and funny. Would love to read more like this in the future!! 5/5 stars ⭐️

Este libro me ha FASCINADO!

Y en mi corazón, tiene sus 5 estrellas xD.

Esta novela y la relación entre los protagonistas es un malentendido y al final simplemente lo aceptan 😂😂.

El top moment de los malentendidos, es de todas maneras, la parte en la que van a un hostal de mala muerte, temático sexual y que fingen hacer gemidos de forma muy exagerada, golpeando la pared y saltando en la cama. Me he carcajeado demasiado.

Ahora, son 3 estrellas porque he decidido (por supuesto, claro, así me lo juro) ser un poco más objetiva en mis valoraciones. Esto qué significa (?), pues una combinación de historia, personajes y profundidad. He tomado esta decisión luego de leer "Este omega es dulce y salvaje" que fueron 5 estrellas x infinito... Lástima que el libro no lo encuentre x GR.

En este caso, esta novela tiene como finalidad hacerte reír y cumple su objetivo a cabalidad (hay muchas partes graciosas). No obstante, hay situaciones abzurdas que no pasan en la vida, lo que contribuye a la trama de malos entendidos.

Aparte de ellos, este libro no contribuye más, sólo el enternecerte y emocionarte en sus momentos juntos (... Y en la azotea 😏😏), pero no hay más. Ni extras 🤧. No hay mucho del pasado de los personajes, solo puros recuerdos superficiales.

Exijo extras xD.

Una historia super corta sobre las desventuras de Wei Ru Song y Xiao Nian, cuando tras un malentendido todos creen que son pareja.

Es una lectura ligera y super graciosa. Todos los malentendidos a lo largo de los capítulos son hilarantes, pero me hubiera gustado ver más desarrollo de personajes. Conocer más a los protagonistas más allá de su estatus como compañeros de cuarto y luego amantes. También la pequeña intervención de los amigos es demasiado corta, no nos dan explicaciones de su relación, así que su inclusión se sintió algo superficial y poco relevante.

Para un rato de risas está genial.

I started this without any expectations but totally LOVED IT!!!

Its super fun! The story starts when the main character thinking that he has a dormitory room only for him this college year but fall with a ton of sneakers and fall in front of his naked new roomate exiting from the bathroom.

His girlfriend was just entering in the room in that exact moment so thought they were having sex and now all the dormitory thinks they are a thing.

This is the first of A LOT misunderstandings that would make everyone to think they are boyfreinds !!

There are short chapters full of comedy and very sweet love story!!

If you need a good mood this is so perfect!!

concidering the plot depends solely on misunderstandings stacking to keep it going, the story is unfairly funny. Both the MC and ML are extremely likable (except maybe the times when our dear MC deides to be embarassing as hell to the point where it makes me want to jump out a window) . Yay to positive misunderstandings that don't lead to a whole arc of angst and sadness! reading it will definitely give you a big boost of serotonin^^

Rating: 5/5- An immensely enjoyable read

The plot was very simple and focuses around ridiculous and funny situations between the MC and ML, that lead to rumours about their relationship.

One of the few plots littered with the misunderstanding trope that wasn’t annoying or unbearable for me.
I liked both characters very much and there was not much angst, so their relationship sailed smoothly. It was quite heartwarming and well rounded.

I wrote my initial review about two days after I read the story and all I could remember about it was that it took a looooong time for those boys to finally screw considering how thirsty they were for each other. It was a very simple, zero conflict story. Nothing really stands out except that it's a rare one with smut.

i read this book to take a break from reading another, much longer, danmei, and it's refreshing to read a danmei that was just meant to be silly and short. it's fun to read, and there were moments that struck my heart, so it was a good short story. def recommend it if you're just looking for a light funny read, the main pairings' dynamic is also rlly cute n fun haha.

Short cute read, some hilarious one liners in there (and I really mean hilarious, like you’ll just pfffft suddenly, can’t stop it lol) but otherwise not too much of a plot that makes you think. Just fluff! And humor. And ch22 for a personal kink, sex while on the phone with someone else. >:]
