Gã và gia đình bé nhỏ của mình, liệu rồi đây còn phải đón bao nhiêu giông gió nữa…

Cố mãi mới xong tập 1, lật hú họa mấy trang cuối tập 2 coi cái kết cho xong.

Không dở nhưng cũng không thể gọi là hay. Nó cứ lưng lửng. Cốt truyện tác giả muốn xây dựng sao cho thật thực tế, thật “đời” nhưng cố quá lại thành quá “kịch”. Cảm giác sắp đặt tình tiết rất rõ ràng, đọc một đã đoán được ba. Có cao trào, có xung đột, có thắt nút mở nút nhưng không có dư âm đọng lại. Đọc thấy nhân vật gặp nguy, suýt chết rồi thoát hiểm nhưng cảm xúc cứ bình bình. Kiểu như trật nhịp hoặc lệch pha. Không thấy xúc động nhiều.

Priest kể chuyện tốt nhưng khoản nắm bắt nhịp độ câu chuyện và tiết tấu cảm xúc của người đọc thì chưa ổn.

Đã khá mong đợi về truyện nên thấy hơi thất vọng.

I really love this story, I was so glad to have come upon it after watching the Taiwanese drama that was adapted from it. It honestly would have been a 5 star read for me had the pacing not been kind of off to me with some parts dragging along a bit more than others, particularly the intricate details of the business ventures that Wei Qian gets involved with. Some of that got a little confusing honestly. But everything else about the book was definitely a 5 star for me.

I particularly loved the two boys backstory given in the first half of the book, and seeing how it affected so much of their decisions and lives moving forward and the ways in which they overcame some of the hurdles and traumas involved with it. The bond between all the characters is so well crafted, you can truly see the love and loyalty between all of them and it’s so heart warming. The story truly takes its time in fleshing out each of the characters and the changes the many ups and downs in their lives have on them. I really do still think about this story a lot, just as I did with the drama, yet here we of course get even more character development. It also does a fantastic job of looking at how socioeconomic status affects one’s life in so many ways, one of the best portrayals of that I have seen.

Read Book 1 & 2

It's slice of life, sometimes boring, sometimes warms, sometime absurd...
I don't against age gap, but the age gap in this story made me uncomfortable.
Like...they growing up together damn Wei Qian brought him up practically parents him, then one of them develop romantic feeling...just ugh...

พีต้าเล่นงานฉันอีกแล้ววววว! ตอนอ่านเรื่องนี้จบเราอ่านเรื่องไหนต่อไม่ได้ไปหลายวันเลย เป็นนิยายสองเล่มที่ทำให้เราผูกพันกับตัวละครจนเหมือนเราอ่านเรื่องยาว 5-6 เล่ม (ด้วยความที่เราเห็นอดีตนายเอกพระเอกตั้งแต่สมัยเด็กเลย เลยเหมือนเติบโตไปกับพวกเด็กๆ)

เป็นเรื่องที่ลึกซึ้งมาก เราต้องค่อยๆ อ่านเพราะไม่อยากให้จบ ถึงแม้จะไม่ค่อยมีโมเม้นหวานฉ่ำ แต่โมเม้นซึ้งของพระนายมันกินใจจนเราไม่ได้ไปสนพาร์ทฟินๆ เลย

สำหรับพระเอกเรื่องนี้เราไม่ใช้คำว่าคลั่งรัก เพราะความรู้สึกที่นางมีต่อนายเอกมันดีปกว่านั้น เหมือนเว่ยเชี่ยนคือโลกทั้งใบ คือพระเจ้า คือศาสนาของเขา ไม่มีเว่ยเชี่ยนเขาอยู่ไม่ได้แน่ๆ พิมไปล้ะจะร้องไห้ ไอ่หมาเด็กมันรักต้าเกอจริงๆ😭😭 เค้าผ่านอะไรด้วยกันมาเยอะมากๆ ดีใจที่ได้อ่านเรื่องนี้ และคงหยิบมาอ่านอีกรอบแน่นอน

I felt empty after reading this. The first chapter started from they're still so little, the more i read, it feels like we grow up together with the characters. Some of them gone, and another added, some with happy ending, some ended tragically. Happy, sad, longing, yearning, i feel it all during the read. I love how i can relate to the unaffectionate family, the way they treat each other harshly but at the same time they'd anything for each other. I sometimes hope "can they just stay happy like this?" but the author really potrayed the ups and downs of life so perfectly, we don't know when will something bad or good happen, everything come and go so suddenly. This novel is a slice of life novel, but with all of those narration, i feel like reading a fantasy novel lol.

It's good, dark, and nice.
I do hope they maybe will focus more on wei qian and xiao yuan, but they're together, I'm already satisfied with that.

I slowly read through the novel, and it keeps me awake longer reading at night as a bedtime lullaby device compared to other BL novels. Although it has BL tropes, they aren't too distracting and I can continue enjoying it. While I don't want the protagonists' actions as created for specific audiences, the traditional Chinese values and norms keep me interested and nostalgic. I was initially curious about this novel when I watched (with many fast-forwarding) its serial adaptation. I always find the novel version better than its movie adaptation as the former brings more details into the characters' motives. For instance, one character I disliked from watching the adaptation turned out to be loveable although obsessed with his ideal love from my perspective. I am stunned and pleased there aren't overt graphically lascivious scenes compared to other popular web novels geared towards most audiences who consume the BL genre.

A book filled with sacrifice, found-family and love.

What I liked:
- Wei Qian's selfless nature and his laziness after becoming financially stable lol ><
- the multiple plot points focusing on Wei Qian's involvement with the gang, his strive towards establishing a career for himself, his friends, his traumatic relationship with his mother, the grandma (who grew on me overtime), and Xiaoyuan's path towards understanding his sexuality.
- young Xiaoyuan's loyalty towards his brother and how he was willing to say that Wei Qian can sell him if he is too much of a burden.
- the angst!

What I didn't like:
- the story was a bit too long

Quyển 1 tập trung chủ yếu về cuộc đời của Ngụy Khiêm, nặng về tình cảm gia đình, tình người, yếu tố tình cảm giữa Ngụy Khiêm và Ngụy Chi Viễn đến gần cuối quyển một mới bắt đầu màn dạo. Nhưng vì quá yêu thích Ngụy Chi Viễn, từ tính cách cho đến cái suy nghĩ xoắn xít của thằng bé quá mức thú vị và sâu trong đó là sự bá đạo ngầm của thằng nhỏ, thật sự suy nghĩ nếu không phải được Nguy Khiêm nhận nuôi chắc sau này dám thằng nhỏ trở thành tội phạm IQ cao cũng không chừng =))))

Nhờ bộ phim chuyển thể cùng tên mới nhảy đi đọc truyện, thật sự không hề hối hận

This was a very raw, intimate and at times traumatizing experience.
There's huge difference between the show and the novel, but the deviations were absolutely necessary. Because I cannot imagine bringing the novel to life in its original, authentic self . . . it would call for riots LMFAO.
Having said that, I still liked the novel better (guilty!).
The ridiculously unreserved devotion, obsession and love is incredulous.
