Draconian Warriors #3

Alien Commander's Reluctant Bride

Rate this book
For the first time in my life I'm surrounded by attractive, eligible males. If only I could choose one.

Kearney

Draconian Warriors are not only drop dead gorgeous, they’re more accommodating than any other species. My younger sister and I have signed contracts with the Draconians and they’re waiting for us to choose a mate, but I can’t focus on that right now.

Kendra and I joined the bride’s registry for the dowry, enough to feed our family for year. It’s good, but Earth is dying and I’ve got an idea to help them for a lot longer. I trust the Draconians, but not with my secret plan to get supplies to our family. There’s nothing in it for them.

Our crafty Commander always has his eyes on me. I worry the handsome devil has figured out my plan. All my bad dreams have been replaced with erotic ones. I can’t look him in the eye because he’s been the star in every single one of them. Catching a glimpse of his sexy body clad only in his unders blows my mind. The dragon warrior has miles of muscles, an unbelieve wingspan and his hands are gigantic. It’s more than enough to keep me thinking dirty thoughts all day long. A distraction I don’t need right now.

Tabor

I’m dedicated to caring for the sister queens until they chose mates. I’m fascinated with them. Perhaps it’s because their closeness reminds me of my brother and I. He and I are close too.

I’ve even taken him under my wing to complete the final phase of his transition into a full-fledged warrior. It’s important he not flounder with so many queens about. Few are fitting age mates for a young warrior, he must leave a good impression if he wants to be chosen.

Queen Kearney and her sister are unlike the other human queens. The others crave luxury and delight in the exotic foods we offer, basking in the attention of our warriors. Kearney and her sister eat only ration bars, wear uniforms and sleep on the ground. They even toil in the gemstone mines.

I am strangely attracted to Kearney's solemn disposition, dedication to her sister and desire to do something besides luxuriate. She has a strong spirit and a keen intellect. The more I get to know this queen, the more fiercely protective I am.

I’ve determined none are fit to warm her bed except me. This lovely queen is becoming more precious to me with each passing day. Something about the look in her eyes tells me she’s been hurt. I’ll die before I allow anyone to harm her again.

Worry eats away at my gut and I sense an unknown danger. Therefore I remain ever vigilant. Until she chooses me.

Many dragon men find love

WoW! Whole lotta matin' goin' on in this one! Twins Kearny and Kendra reveal the reason they're work-obsessed and scruffy all the time - they're on a rescue mission. Their would-be mates have to trust them to find room for love in between space battles, evil symbionts, doubler-dealing aliens, and other conplications. Good world-building and the promise of more to come.

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
It was a great book!
Kendra joined the registry for the dowry.
She was trying to help her family.
Tabor was only supposed to take care of the brides until they chose their mates.
He was attracted to Kendra.
Now what is Tabor to do ?
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Human Kearney is with her younger sister Kendra and they have both signed contracts to take a Draconian as a mate but she can't focus on that right now - their dowry helped feed their family for a year but they really need to go to Earth and rescue them but getting supplies to them. Draconian warrior and the Commander of her crew Tabor watches her carefully but she doesn't think he knows what she is doing right now. He is gorgeous and definitely the focus of all of her fantasies, but for now, she has to focus on her family. Tabor is obsessed with caring for the sister queens until they chose their mates and just like Kearney is protective of her younger sister so he is the same for his younger brother who is in the crew finishing his transition. They are not like the other human queens as they wear overalls, eating ration bars, sleep on the ground and work hard. He is attracted to Kearney and is determined that no one else will warm her bed - he just wonders if/when that will happen and expects danger from all corners.

I really liked Tabor who was a perfect example of a Draconian warrior who was clearly in love with his queen. But I did not like Kearney as she kept so much to herself and was misleading at times which made her feel untrustworthy. Thankfully it all got sorted out but it was definitely touch and go for a while. Easy to read and understand. Contains some mature content neat to the end of the story.

The sister Queens, Kearney and Kendra, have collected enough metal and jewels to buy a scrapped ship and parts to fix it to fly.

The sister queens have been helped by the warrior Tabor, who has a crush on Kearney that he won't push, he just makes sure both women are watched over and cared for. They get Queen Hope to drop them all off on the salvage planet, where they find a ship and get it working and head for Earth, to trade for seeds and to rescue the rest of the sister Queens family members, some twenty two or more people. They have a problem with the down mountain neighbor who shoots at them and knocks down one shuttle. The family is rescued, the neighbors are offered a deal that they later accept after being burned out. An alien tries to get women and the sisters won't help, he later tries to grab one of the Greyson daughters when they pick them up. The alien put a symbiont in the daughter, which causes problems, and his ship attacks their ship on the way home. The Strovians want the women they've picked up, the queens refuse and get attacked by the Strovians and the Moltan that they've had problems with before, who also want female sex slaves. The queens ship wins when another queens ship arrives to help out, and everyone heads home with the Strovian ship as a war prize, and finding out that some religious group is handing out soul snatcher samples to those who want them.

What an amazing book about two sisters Kearney and Kendra who signed up to be brides for the Draconian race but the have yet to choose a mate because they are planning a trip back to earth to save there family but are not sure who is left because it’s been 2yrs since they left but the sister work hard in the gem mines and save everything they dig up and for go all luxuries as queens because there family suffers on earth so why should they be comfortable but many think there are a weird but they don’t care. Tabor is the commander looking after the queens but worries that they don’t eat enough and work to hard but admires them, but mostly queen Kearney he finds attractive but can never have more because he is a warrior not a breeder but it doesn’t stop him from wondering. We have a plan my sisters and I buy a ship and travel to earth and save our family what we didn’t expect was to fall in love with the brothers Tabor and Phan. We make it to earth with the help of a strovian vessel that time jumps us there and all they want is a meeting with the Earth ambassador in return. We find the queens family and prepare to leave but with more people than we expected and the meeting went horribly wrong with captain Artor and the earth ambassador. What happens now read this amazing book for more you will love it just as I did.

A simply riveting story of two sisters that set out to save their whole family on earth
This is a simply wonderful read that is based around two sisters that are self-taught in the spaceship knowledge that have set out across space. Then they plan to dig out precious stones and then to us the finances that they have been able to raise to keep their family fed and safe on earth in a cave,
Then they plan to build space ships and raise a Draconian crew that will help the, to fly their space ships and rescue their mother who has recently given birth and have been hiding in a cave on their mountain with the rest of their surviving family.
Two years they have been digging and collecting gems and buying food and water and medicines to return to earth with so that they can rescue their family and then set out with everything they believe is set in tow but as you know even the best laid plans of men and alien can be put through the wringer and this is what happens.
Queen Kearney and her sister who have both found Draconian warriors that they have fallen in love with find themselves having to come up with an alternate plan with the help of the Strovian Vessel that is able fold time but charges a pretty penny for the time saving option.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

PNR with a HFN ending and an overall series arc with HOT HOT alien warriors - highly recommend if wanting to suspend reality for a little while

Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, semi-steamy intimate scenes and violence.

While this could be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend it be read in order to maximize reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers.

There is an overall arc to all the stories in this series, that prevents the ones I have read so far from being the same formula as the other books. This is why I don’t agree fully with a few of the other reviews.

There will always be a certain overall agreed to formula for this genre and that includes the H / h meet, feel an attraction, have some kind of angst, then see that they are meant for each on their way to a HEA / HFN, with no cheating. If there is no conflict than why would anyone care about them, their emotions along the way, and how they made it come together and work at the end?

This story, like the others contains grammatical errors, such as extra and repeated words, as well as incorrect words like “is” iso “in”, but I didn’t have any issues with interpreting the author’s intent.

Kearney and Kendra are sisters who sign up for the Draconian bride program in order to get the dowry they need to provide for their family on Earth which is dying. Their entire focus for signing up in the program is to save their family in whatever way they can. They go to work in the mines to gather gems and live sparingly so that the bulk of what they save can be used for their family back on Earth. With the resources they gather and save carefully, they can buy a way to get back home and rescue their loved ones.

Tabor, a Draconian Warrior, protects the women and is attracted to Kearney, even though he feels unworthy since he is a warrior and not a breeder. But he and his brother want to keep them safe. As for Kearney, she has to put her own feelings aside to accomplish the important goals she and Kendra had committed to. Will Tabor go with them back to Earth? Will he help them? And what will the future bring for each of them?

There is so much more to this story that you won’t want to miss! The story line is good and the characters have kind and good qualities that are easy to see. They deserve a HEA – get your copy of the book and see if that is fated to happen.

Slow to warm

Kearney and her mate were an interesting pair. I do like it took some time to get together but do not think it should have been 2 years. Maybe half that time. They were a good match and liked them going to rescue family on earth. Looking forward to other books.
Mild annoyance, if they had technology that is helping to clean atmosphere why have no one improved domes and built new food and livestock, fishery, growing ones? Not to mention advances in medical. If the women are so valuable that coalition would have set up ways to improve their health, and to buy favor of those staying by slowly healing planet.

Still do not buy that the co-Queen rulers would not ensured ALL ships, and coalition worlds would not know what to look out for with the vampire blob. Not to mention have studied more on it and be aware on what kills it or come up with virus or disease to target it and save host if caught early on.
Other concern I have. There should be more natural queens adults that are not infested. Why are they perpetrating the generalization all the race are evil? Need to have one come on and fight with others to get rid of pests.

Excellent Addition to the Series!

The next book in the series is Kearney and Taber’s story. Even though this is the third book in the series it is a stand- alone book and not necessary to read the previous two. Kearney and Tabor have been dancing around their attraction for two years. He doesn’t think that he deserves a Queen, or mate. She is totally focused on mining enough jewels to purchase a ship to refurbish so she can return to earth and rescue her family. When she finally achieves her goal, she choses Taber to be the commander of her ship. She also vows that when her family is safe, she will let Taber know that she is totally attracted to him. The trip to earth went pretty smoothly, but the journey home is fraught with danger and tough decisions. Excellent book and I can’t wait for the next one to come out!.

Kearney and her sister have had quite a different life the last two years after leaving a destroyed Earth for an alien planet. This planet worships the women and does anything they want. Kearney is very attracted to the commander who protects them, Tabor, but has some important work to do before pursuing him.

Tabor is the commander who wants to protect his queen and feels like he is not worthy of her attention. As they go on their mission, they are drawn closer together.

I have read other books in the series. If you are new to it, the author explains the prior history of both of their planets at the beginning so you can understand. I really liked both of the characters. They are both really good hearted and desire to do what is right. The story goes in an interesting direction and I enjoyed the other characters too.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

This is my first time to visit the world of the Draconian Warriors and I really enjoyed my visit. Kearney and Kendra are the two main female characters. They have one focus, to rescue their family left on Earth. Tabor is the Draconian Warrior who has decided to protect the two as they work to find the recourses to return to Earth. Tabor is such a great character and his actions are what drive the story. All of the characters fit the story. The plot seems simple until it gets very complicated. This is part of a series but works very well as a stand alone. I look forward to more visits to this world and would really like a Draconian Warrior of my own. Since changes are good that will not happen I will just have to get my Draconian fix from books.

I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.

Generally, when you like someone you make it known, but what if you just had to make it wait? Wait till you get enough funds to keep your promise? Sometimes you just have to push through, ignore feelings, put first things first. A need to go home as promised. Trust can be a delicate thing.
Rules and protocols can sometimes set things back or traditions can stump. One can only desire for a future in the arms of another. But in reality, one just puts wishes in a box and sets it on a shelf for prosperity. A need to feel pride, needed and enough have left one man uncertain. Hasn't he been proving his worth or is there something else going on?
I received an advanced review copy in exchange for a freely given honest review. I very much enjoyed this new series and can't wait to read more. This author never disappoints.

What’s not to like about Dragons seeking mates and Queens and constantly have their best interests at heart? Kearney and Kendra have both escaped desolate Earth by signing on to be brides to Aliens. Never expecting to find someone they can truly fall for or that their circumstances could have changed the outcome of their original planning, these Dragons captured their hearts. Lots of action and adventure has taken place for these two but they would not have made it that far without the protection, help and guidance of Tabor, their Draconinan warrior. I appreciated the fact that a story was told that had substance and wasn’t bogged down by lots of sexual scenes as if that’s the only thing needed to sell a book. My attention was captured throughout the entire book by how various characters, situations and worlds were described.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I thoroughly enjoy when a series has a big arc that keeps growing with each book, but that gives me HEAs and complete stories along the way. This is what’s happening in this series.
So for the couple, I loved Kearney and Tabor. It did take me a minute to warm up to Kearney, just felt like she was basing a lot of her ideas on assumptions. But I warmed up to her as she started learning more and actually doing more. She was awesome. And Tabor was so sweet. Such a definition of cinnamon roll hero “, he just wanted to make her happy and provide for her. So sweet. And their steamy scenes were just precious.
The danger was real and not over done which was nice. A great addition to the series and can’t wait for it to continue.
I did receive an ARC from Booksprout and this is my honest opinion.

“It’s hard to wallow in luxury when your family is starving."

I've read I don't even know how many of Miranda's books, but this series has all but escaped me. A mistake I now clearly see I have to rectify. I loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved the bond between Kearney and her sister, and how everything they did was for their suffering family on Earth. I loved Tabor. He was kind, respectful, and protective. I loved their matriarchal society where females were queens, and the warriors protected, cared for them, and submitted to them. I loved the scene where Tabor meets her family. My favorite line was:

'Tabor’s head whips around and he asks a question that might be hysterically funny under different circumstances. “If the queens do not rule, how do the warriors get anything done?”'

5 stars.

Loved it!

Kearney and Kendra joined mail order brides for the Draconian men. They went into space for two years, Tabor, became Kearney’s commander and his brother watched over Kendra. But instead of picking husbands they spent all their time in the mines working, picking up valuable gems. They have a large family back on earth that they were going to go back save. First they needed money, a spaceship, a crew.
After two years with Tabor’s help Kearney and her sister acquired a spaceship, with the Draconian’s help a crew they were ready to head to Earth to pick up their family.
I’ve read the whole Draconian series, Juno Wells, writes a well written story that just pulls you in. I can’t wait to read the next story in the adventure.

The title doesn’t do the book justice. I also have a weakness for dragons.

In the future, humanity polluted the earth so much that a virus began attacking the Y chromosome. This leads to a huge imbalance in gender. Most other races have a shortage of females. In order for the women to survive, some sign up for the bride registry. They get money and most races treat them very well.

Kearney and her sister Kendra signed up for the bride registry. But they have a secret agenda, to purchase a ship and return to Earth to rescue their family. While on Earth, they end up rescuing many more females which makes their ship a target.

The romance was sweet, and it was a pleasant surf to have the men always deferring to the women.

This was a great read. Kearney and her younger sister Kendra have signed up with the Draconians so they can choose a mate. But so far they haven't done so, they are too busy mining for gems so that they can rescue their family who are still stuck on earth. Their plan is to get enough gems to buy their own ship. Tabor is the commander assigned to them and along with his men they will man the ship. The story was full of fun, adventure and love. The misunderstandings are amusing. There is danger from some new enemies, the experiments they are trialling. But there is a HFN for Kearney, her sister and their family.

I’m surprised by all the positive reviews. First of all this book is full of grammar mistakes and punctuation errors. Secondly, there is nothing “reluctant” about the bride. She’s the one who propositions the H and makes her opinion very clear and very often.
All this aside I was a little confused at the beginning about what was happening. Maybe I missed a previous book I should have read? I thought it was a stand-alone.
And finally which was perhaps for me the biggest issue (but a personal one) was that the h was very submissive. I put it down after the deed was done because that’s what it felt like, I was totally detached.
It’s probably got a niche for readers who like a submissive h.

A great story with lots of action! This story will have you staying up too late to read it! Kearney and Tadon dance around each other and their attraction for much of the first half of the book, but it's cool because there's a whole build-up that leads them on a hero's journey. There are near death experiences and naive shenanigans leading up to the climax, and the secret mission the girls are on will warm your heart and answer a lot of questions at the same time. I only wish she had said what happened to Roxie, she just fell out of the story...Aside from that though, I loved it, I hope you get a chance to read it too!

Great action packed romance!

Another wonderful book from the Draconian warrior series. Very well written. They keep so many secrets about their lives and feelings from each other. The different cultural beliefs made all of that such a struggle. Lots of twists and turns. It was interesting watching Kearney’s and Tabor’s stories unfold. The story kept you riveted and wondering. If you are familiar with the series the story is this one does not disappoint. It can definitely be read as a stand-alone too. I would recommend book.

Good Sci-fi Alien Romance

This is a good sci-fi alien romance, with a likable couple, and a good addition to the series. I like that this series has a different take on the alien men -- even though they are physically strong and powerful, their culture is completely matriarchal. They have been abused and enslaved by their evil queens for centuries, but they still revere and treasure all women. They are alpha males, yet they are still happy to be led by women -- what a refreshing concept!

Revidian is apparently a word created by author to indicate cunnilinguis there is also reverse revidian. This should have been explained by the author in beginning. Of book 1. But was not till book 3 so I was confused. I do like that the author made up words for alien species to describe things both recognizable and not. great series. Read all 11 books too bad 11th book ended abruptly and did not bring all happy families & couples together quite well. It ended so abruptly I kept trying to find a missing page or two. Or will there a 12th book?

I love this series by Miranda Martin about Draconian warriors. Book 3 is Alien Cdr’s Reluctant Bride. Kearney is a human female who, along with her sister, signed up to be brides and put their mechanical skills to work during the long travel through space to learn how to work on space ships. Instead of being all girly, though, as the Draconians like to keep their queens, Kearney and her sis work to gather gem stones so they can afford to buy and fit a ship other own to return to earth to save the rest of their family, all while being protected by hunky winged warrior Tabor. What an adventure they go through!

What a great story!

Extremely well written, great characters, great theme. I love the plot and how everything was explained so that the story was credible and interesting. I also love the way the main characters found mates while also knowing that there is probably a good outcome in store for the remainder of the unmated women. A great sci-fi alien story with the right amount of romance thrown in. A great read!

Very well written and excellent story. Love this author. Her and her sister are on an alien planet after earth is dying. they are supposed to pick a mate. They are also working in the mines. They have a secret agenda. The commander watching over them wants the older sister and is determined to keep them safe along with his little brother. It is exciting, emotional, dramatic, surprising and so much more. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.

To a Queen

Kearney and her sister work tearlessly for gemstones so they can go back to earth. She becomes a queen with Commander Tabor at her side. Together, they accomplish some amazing things with equal rights between queen and warrior. This book is definitely a good alien\human journey. There are some sexy parts, but not so much. Over 18yrs should do. I enjoyed reading this book and recommend it highly.

Sister Queens Find Mates !

Both human sister's find their mates in this Draconian series . To the Draconians all females are Queens . Tabor and Queen Kearney find each other while her sister and his brother become closer . This is for adults only due to sexual content . I loved this book about the sisters sacrificing their selves to return to Earth to save the rest of their family . ENJOY the fantasy !
