Not all lawyers are heartless...

Luke’s life couldn’t get any worse. His parents are gone, the family bar is failing, and he's had to drop out of college. On top of everything else, now he's engaged in a custody battle with his grandparents over his younger brother.

Adam is a drop-dead gorgeous lawyer, representing a certain pair of grandparents in the custody battle. He isn’t pleased to be involved with such snobby clients, and he’s definitely miffed to be shipped out to the Midwest for this case. That all changes when he meets Luke. The man is handsome, charming, and he gets Adam’s sense of humor. Worse, he definitely deserves to win the case.

They’re not supposed to talk to one another, much less date, but both Adam and Luke feel a connection they can’t ignore. Can they figure out a way to make it work? Or will the case – and the things they have to do to win it – tear them apart?

If you love tense, sensual, heartwarming gay romance, dive in to Fighting for Love tonight. Delight in desperation and a guaranteed happy ending.

Get this and five other books with steamy, sweet stories in the Fighting for Love Bundle!

Collection of different stories. So far, I've only read the first one, and I loved it.

Fighting for you.

Luke had his life planned out. Finish university, work, meet a man, fall in love and be together forever. But he had to give up his plans after the death of his parents. His brother needed him. Six months later, he is struggling for custody of his brother, regretting the decisions he made in the past that prevent him from winning the trial. He didn't think about love, he didn't even think about partying. He didn't expect to meet someone who would touch his heart.

Adam lives for work. He doesn't like going out, he has a hard time meeting people. He dreams of finding love, but he doesn't think he's going to. He focuses on his work, hoping to get promoted. He looks like he'll make it, if he gets his clients to get custody of his grandson. He didn't expect to meet the man who would change his life on that trip.

Luke and Adam are very much alike. They both believe in love, although they haven't found it yet. They are both insecure. Luke thinks he's a failure. He had to drop out of college, and before that he had a hard time passing classes. If he were a better man, he'd have it easy to get custody of Seth. And Adam is ... He doesn't feel comfortable with his physical appearance, he doesn't feel attractive. Shy, uncomfortable with people, has trouble speaking in public, has trouble trusting. But he does it in Luke. From the first moment, he's felt good about him. And that's a problem. There can be nothing between them, not even friendship. He shouldn't have approached him. But, now that he's done it, he can't walk away. And Luke, who is a heartbreaker, feels attached to him as he never has before. But their relationship is impossible.

I love Luke. He has sacrificed himself for his brother. He doesn't see it that way. Seth is all he has. He couldn't not take care of him. And although it's not the same, he couldn't leave the bar or their house either.

A heartbreaker, a flirt, a good person, he cares for his own, he doesn't want anything to happen to them.

He shouldn't trust Adam, but he apologized right away, he's trying to help him. Luke can read in him, he sees that he is sincere.

I also love Adam. He's shy, doesn't know how to talk to people or feel comfortable around them. He has a hard time opening up, barely has any friends. And the ones he has are loyal to him. He didn't trust anyone, but Luke broke his defenses. He screwed up, Luke forgave him. He has to help him, not because he likes him, but because he couldn't forgive himself if he didn't do it. Luke is a good man. He doesn't deserve what they do to him.

I love them together. They're attracted to each other from the first moment. Adam doesn't understand what Luke sees in him, and Luke doesn't understand why Adam doesn't see what he sees. They barely know each other, but they both notice the connection between them. They're both scared. Luke is willing to take the risk. Adam is not ready.

I don't like to see them argue. When they do, neither is able to see the other's point of view.

I love that both of them forgive each other, apologize, and admit that they were wrong. Both are men who assume their mistakes.

I love Seth. He wants Luke to be happy, he tells him what he doesn't want to hear.

I also love their friends. They see what's between them long before they do.

I recommend it.

I received an ARC from the author, and this is my honest review.

i read this box set as part of an arc program. This set includes:
Fighting for You,Through Thick and Thin, Swipe Right, Breaking the Rules, Love and Medicine and Betting on Love
These book are about a group pf friends from high school and their stories of how they found love.

I have read:

Betting on Love-This is the romance between Preston and Brad. Preston has anger issues and everyone is getting tired of him getting into fights. Luke tells Preston he can't come back to the bar until he goes into anger management and Preston knows he has to do it. Preston is surprised to learn his councilor is a friend of a friend and he is attracted to him. Brad is working on his masters degree and he wants to help Preston learn to get better. Brad is in the closet, but is attracted to Preston, but he won't come out because he is scared his mother won't accept him. Brad helps Preston realize the reasons for his anger and how to cope with them and they develop a friendship with a mutual attraction. When they want to act on their attractions, Preston gets worried about Brad getting into trouble for being with a client and Brad doesn't want to come out. They have to find a way to work through their problems to see if they can have a relationship. I really liked this book and thought Brad really wanted to help Preston. I love how Preston opened up to Brad and then to his friends and they accepted him. I like how Brad wanted to be close with his mother, but he also knew he had to be true to himself. Both Brad and Preston helped each other and grew closer.

Love and Medicine-This is the story of Ross and Tom. Ross is a very successful surgeon and is not looking for a serious relationship because of his past. He meets Tom one night at Joe's, a local bar he and his friends hang out at. Tom is a paralegal who is also a workaholic. Tom's boss is one of Ross's friends and takes Tom to Joe's in hopes of getting Tom to make friends and to get out more. Tom is happy being a introvert and doesn't make friends easily. When Ross flirts with Tom all night, Tom questions if he is reading the signals correct and Ross invites him to come home with him, but tell him it is only a casual hook-up because he doesn't do relationships. Tom goes home with Ross and they have a great time. When Tom wakes later, he leaves and doesn't wake Ross. When Tom is on his way home, he is in a car accident and Ross ends up being his surgeon. Ross doesn't recognize Tom until after his shift when he is checking on his patients and he feels guilty about the accident. Ross is still attracted to Tom and wants to see him again. When Tom is no longer his patient, they talk and agree to a casual relationship. Soon they get closer and when Ross's past start to make trouble for him, the new relationship with Tom is put to the test. I really enjoyed this book and thought Ross and Tom were great together. They had great chemistry and cared a lot for each other. I enjoyed their story and how they both wanted to protect the other. I liked the group of friends that included Tom like he belonged there from the start.

I love these two books and will be reading the rest of them. Good set.

Fantastic Bundle of 6 M/M romances, providing a variety of different characters, themes, and circumstances, including second chance, friends-to-lovers, enemies-to-lovers, opposites attract, forbidden love, doctor-patient, bad boy, and more. These are all 5 star books for me. If you love M/M romance, get this bundle. You won't be disappointed.

Fighting for you
This is a beautiful story about fighting for what matters in life. I loved the connection between Luke and Adam, and the love and dedication Luke had for his brother. Loved the steamy scenes!

Through Thick and Thin
This is a sweet friends to lovers romance. The premise is delightfully simple. Lance has loved Travis pretty much forever, and everyone knows it but Travis. Travis is a player, and Lance has resigned himself to being in the friend zone, until an unexpected fire puts the two in closer proximity giving love a chance to bloom. Of course the course of true love never did run smooth, and there is some angst and misunderstanding before the two work things out.

Swipe Right
Is there hope for a relationship between a guy who wants forever and a guy who only does one-night stands? J.P. Oliver answers that question is this well-written novel. The characters are well-developed, the plot well-designed, and the chemistry sparks.

Breaking the Rules
Enemies to lovers is not my favorite M/M trope, but J.P. Oliver writes a good story, and the attraction and chemistry between Hank and Eric is soooo good. It was easy to see both men's point of view - neither was a bad guy. The story pulled me along wanting to see if they would find a way to make it work for both of them.

Love and Medicine
I really enjoyed Ross and Tom’s story. There is some angst, a troublesome ex, and good friends. I loved watching Ross and Tom find their way to each other, turning chance into romance. Great story of overcoming the past and creating a better present and future.

Betting on Love
This is a wonderful story of overcoming anger and the past, and finding love. Great plot, great characters. The guys really drew me in and I was pushing all the way for their HEA.

An enjoyable & entertaining bundle of connected stories that revolve around a solid group of friends, a bar named Joe's, and the quirks and struggles of making a relationship work. Each story has amazing characters, smokin hot sexy times, difficult decisions, laughs, great friends, opposition, heartbreak, frustration, ups and downs, twists, uplifting moments, and so much more that leads to love and sweetly satisfying HEA.
FIGHTING FOR YOU - tragedy strikes and Luke has to drop out of college to raise and fight to keep his younger brother as well as run the struggling family bar. Adam is a successful lawyer working a case where he does not want to represent his clients.
THROUGH THICK AND THIN - Lance is a sweet, quiet guy who has been in love with his best friend for over ten years. Travis is a player, sucks at verbal communication, and clueless about his best friend.
SWIPE RIGHT - Davis is cheerful, positive, and a hopeless romantic desperate to find the one. Paul is a player who does not stay in one place long and does not believe relationships ever work.
BREAKING THE RULES - Hank and his family do not see eye to eye but he will do what he can to help them save their trailer park. Workaholic Eric works for the company trying to buy out the trailer park. Neither man has ever felt that spark of attraction - until they meet.
LOVE AND MEDICINE - Tom is a paralegal. Ross is a surgeon. Both men are too busy in their careers to have time for a relationship. A casual relationship is all they want but that spark of attraction will not go away - even when a nasty ex causes trouble for them both.
BETTING ON LOVE - Preston is a player but he is feeling lonely now that his friends have all found love and now his temper has him banned from the one place that feels like home. Brad is an anger management counselor who has not told his mom he is gay.
* these stories need some editing, mostly for minor issues like an added or dropped word but also, in the epilogue of the fourth book one couple announces their engagement but the fifth and sixth books state they are not engaged.
Otherwise, I truly loved this bundle and would definitely recommend it.

I read the first story in the series about a small town guy named Jeffrey falling for a lawyer named Andy who was hired by his step mothers parents to help get custody of his little brother. They had an automatic chemistry between them the moment they met until they realized who the other person was and the things became super complicated. Jeffery wanted to hate Andy for working for the very people trying to take away his brother but found it hard to hate someone he couldnt help but have feelings for. not to mention Andy was a nice guy just trying not to lose his job but at the same time didnt want to pull a kid away from a happy home. This was a cute and fun read. I enjoyed it. I cant wait to read more stories from this author! adding I also read book 5 in this story and enjoyed that one also the relationship between Ross and Tom seemed super rushed and a bit far fetched. I feel like it was bit of a cass of insta love so you enjoy that type of story then you will enjoy book 5 in the series. Tom is a lawyer who never has time for relationships and Ross is a doctor who also let's his job consumer or at least that's what he tells himself in order to protect himself from getting hurt again. They meet through friends in a bar and things take off from there and they cant help but fell a pull toward one enough and ross cant see to get enough of Tom's company but they still remain in denial about what's truly going on between them. I still found it to be a cute and fun read.

Six great stories to read. They all center around a group of guys that are friends and grew up together. Each book is about a different couple. However the next book has updates on their story. Luke and Adam are first with their problems. Luke owns a bar and Adam comes to town . Then Lance and Travis have a go at it. Lance and Travis grew up as best friends, but Lance has loved Travis for a long time. The third book is about Paul who is new to town and Davis who is a romantic at heart and not able to find the right one. The fourth book is about Hank who is the head cook at the bar Luke owns and Eric who comes to town to talk some people into selling their land to the developer company Eric works for. Book five is about Tom the assistant for the law firm Adam work for and Ross a surgeon. Book six is the story about Preston and Brad. Preston is the last person in the group that needs to find a love of his own. Brad was Hanks roommate and is looking for love.

Come on in and grab a beer while you get to know all about this small town just outside of Chicago. I love it when I can read about a whole community and it all starts with Luke, Adam and the local bar, Joe's.

This bundle has six related stories that are all linked to Joe's. Every story is a further development of the community and cast of characters. Each couple has a bit of mini angst and awesome smexy times. These books are well-written with a satisfying HFN/HEA for when you want to read stories that make you feel good.

Sooooo definitely worth picking up when looking for a binge reading weekend. Although they can be read as standalones, I guarantee you will be tickled pink if you read them in order.

This bundle has 6 distinct works in the 'Fighting for Love' collection, the first of which is Fighting For You. I really enjoyed this story.

Adam is an attorney who is hired by a set of grandparents in a custody dispute. His firm sends him from NY to Chicago to serve the court papers to Luke, but ends up making out with him instead.

When they figure out what is going on between them, Adam decides to help Luke by finding investors for his bar, asking his best friend to be his attorney, and basically throwing his entire case.

The story was fun and light and the characters were cute.

This also contains Through Thick and Thin, Swipe Right, Breaking the Rules, Love and Medicine and Betting on Love.

If you like the forbidden love trope, this is a perfect set for you!

When I started reading the series I kept thinking that everything about Luke and Adam seemed familiar yet different. I couldn't put my finger on it and spent an entire evening trying to find one of Mr. Oliver's books. The reason I wanted to say this is the fact that this is à book that I keep comparing to and it's a series that keeps me wanting to re-read. I love the different dynamics between the characters, their willingness to help each other even if that means telling each other the painful truth and have each other's back makes those of us that do not have that sort of friendships à bit jealous lol and even though Preston's my favourite and I've come to love all of them.

I am a massive fan of this amazing series I have read it all twice now I believe. Joe's bar is where majority of it is set, but it with sometimes out and about. This is a strong group of friends and a great support for each other when needed.
We start this out with Luke the owner of Joe's after his parents passed away way to soon. His story has his friend's and most of all Adam who we meet.
This is a great bundle, an amazing way to read the next book without hunting it down and starting over. It is a must read series for sure.
This author is brilliant and takes you on a heartfelt adventure, with twists and turns as any good book. Grab asap you won't regret it.

These six short novels are about a group of friends in a small Midwestern town that is being gentrified. The men come from different social classes, but most went to high school together. They are very different, but have in common a love for Joe's, a neighborhood tavern owned by Luke, whose story comes first. The stories are sweet and spicy. Love is found in unexpected places, often with the last person you would expect. The scenes between the friends are fun. This is a seriously good series. The writing and editing are excellent. I want to hang out at Joe's!

Big brother being a dad, fighting for the baby brother, and the bar his family left behind - trying to keep it all together instead of losing his brother to people they never knew - there really is an against all odds romance in there - and it is good!

Want to read more overcoming the odds and getting / staying together, despite past histories?

This is the bundle you definitely want to download!

This is a wonderful collection of love stories.

Set in a bar in a suburb of Chicago, Joe's is a place where guys meet guys and fall in love.
Attorneys, bartenders, chefs, personal shoppers, IT geeks...you name it.
Sometimes tragedy brings them together and sometimes they're just in the right place at the right time...even if it takes them years to get there.

If you love humor combined with romance, this is a book you'll really appreciate.

Fighting for you 5 stars
Adam was just a good guy in a bad spot. He worked so hard to make up for his position in the case with Luke. Luke set his life plans aside to take over parenting his brother and running his family bar. These guys fall hard and fast but there's still the trial to get through. I liked that in the end, it was Seth that set Luke straight and had him making the grand overture to bring Adam back to them.

These are sweet, romantic, entertaining and amusing stories. They'll pull your heartstrings, make you laugh and draw you into their lives. The characters are each special and sweet and charming. The storylines are interesting, thrilling and romantic. I love how the stories relate to each other so you keep tabs on the characters from previous stories.
