When I got the opportunity to review this second book in the Federal K-9 series, there was no doubt in my mind as to wether I should take this opportunity or not. So thank you so so much St. Martins press and Netgalley, for providing me with an arc copy!

I've read and LOVED the first book in the series, which I've read twice already, so I was really eager to get my hands on this second installment.

The plot driven story-line was really fast-paced, which is something I love about these books so far. Every second spent not reading this book - when I needed to take care of my family or something like that - I was thinking about this book and about how the story would continue. I love reading books like these, that hold me captivated even when not reading them.

I loved being back in this world and experiencing this particular story revolving Nick, whom we got to meet in the first book as well. The K-9's and their handlers in these books are all so interesting to read about, wether we're looking into the main characters or the supportive ones. I loved seeing characters reappear that we got to meet in the first book, but there were also some new characters that I came to love, like our female lead for example, Andi .

She was a character I could so easily connect with somehow. She felt realistic and was just incredibly likable to me. She was feisty but not 'too much' you know? She had her moments of insecurity and sensibility but she was no pushover either. A great balanced out character that I came to care for a lot!

And then we have Nick , our sexy AF K-9 handler and his dog, Saxon. Especially Nick was quite a surprising character. The author kept me on my toes throughout the entire book with this guy. Sure, he's this sexy and confident cop with an intimidating K-9 dog at his side that you can't help but fall in love with as well.

But there are aspects of him coming to the surface throughout the book that had me Really falling in love with this guy. Guitar playing?! Check! Capable of talking about his feelings even though he had some shitty things happening in his past? Check! Going after the things/people he loves? Check! Love for Dogs? CHECK! So yeah... He ticked all the right boxes in my opinion hihi.

As with the first book, the presence of the animals in this one is just great yet again! I love how the author fits them all in so nicely into the story-line. I couldn't imagine them not being present in these books. These animals that we've had the pleasure of meeting so far, have stolen my heart and are definitely a part of what makes these stories work so well in my opinion.

The mystery and suspense elements in this one were magnificently done I think. Normally I'm not all that into mystery persé, but it all just 'clicked' in this one. It was in such nice balance with the rest of the story, the character development and romance development. The author kept me guessing and it was quite surprising to find out that I wasn't really able to anticipate correctly in the mystery revolving the WHO IS BEHIND ALL THIS? I loved being surprised when finding this all out.

I think the romance brewing between these two characters was just incredible. HOOK.LINE.and SINKER. I was a goner right from the start. I loved these characters as individuals so much already but them together? LOVED IT SO FRIGGING MUCH.

There was chemistry, there was banter, there was laughter, intensity and tenderness. I couldn't get enough of the romance bits and pieces in it. The author really knows her way around writing down sexual tension to perfection. The build up is just amazingly well done and blends in perfectly with the actual romance development.

When it comes to the writing : I think it's just amazing how the author is able to write a plot-driven storyline, with mystery and suspense and that she's also able to develop the characters so incredibly well, as well as writing down such an incredible in depth romance.

Overall , this was an extremely enjoyable read from beginning till end. I devoured page by page and would've finished it in one-sitting if I didn't have to take care of my family in between, lol. I really couldn't get enough of it. Every second I could spare, I spent reading this book.

This - and don't forget the first book; Locked 'n Load of course! - is a series I'd recommend to anyone who likes a plot driven story-line involving cops and K-9 elements, mystery, suspense and a really believable and intense romance. It's well written, fast-paced, enthralling and captivating. This author has me craving more already!

This book foresaw in my every need: It surprised me, it shocked me, it had me falling for these amazing characters and the amazing dogs present and it held me captive until the very last page. Sexy cops and brave K-9's who'll steal your heart. What more could you want for? Exactly! So my last message to you? GO READ THIS BOOK ASAP! You won't regret it!

Thanks for reading,

Boy, do I love this series by Tee O'Fallon. After reading book one, which I really, really enjoyed, I hoped this second book would be just as good. It was. The hero and heroine, Nick and Andi, were realistic and likeable. And Saxon and Stray? How can you not fall for them? Dog lovers will love them to pieces.

The suspense kept me turning pages. The sex is hot. These two characters have it bad for each other! But the best part of this book is the ending. I was so tense through it all. Vividly described, so that I felt like I was there. My heart was in my throat right to the end.

If you're a dog lover, a romance lover, and a suspense lover, this book is for you!

This is a well-written, fast paced, entertaining romanic suspense novel. It has likable, engaging characters, plenty of twists and turns, a heart-warming romance, and a happily ever after ending. I could not turn the pages fast enough during the much anticipated showdown between the hero, his canine companion, and the villain. I am looking forward to reading the next entry in Ms O'Fallon's outstanding "Federal K-9" series. This novel is perfect as a stand alone, and even better when read after reading the excellent first entry in this series.

Andi Hardt, owner of Dog Park Café, and her dog, Stray are staying at her friend’s home thanks to plumbing problems. He’s out of town when Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Nick Houston and his K-9 Saxon arrive to executing a search warrant of the home. From the onset I loved the crazy tension and chemistry between these two; even if he is eying her with suspicion.

It seems the police suspect her best friend of money laundering and arms sales. He apparently did an illegal wire transfer from her business account and now they think she is involved! Her friend is in deep. Not only is he wanted by the police, but some creeps want him dead. Andi will need to corporate to clear her name and save her business.

Nick goes undercover as the new bartender at the Dog Park Café and the tension sizzles as the danger intensifies. This is my first series by O’Fallon and I love how realistic she makes her characters. These two felt genuine from their backstories to their attraction.

The case was intense, and the romance had all the elements I love. We faced a few obstacles, thanks in part to the boys at the office and the explosive wrap up to the case that had me gripping my Kindle and hoping for a positive outcome. The storyline brought tears, laughter, surprises and more.

I love this series!

I couldn’t wait to dive into the latest in this series! Strong characters, suspense and action, and, of course, four-legged friends, proved once again to be a winning combination!

Andi and Nick’s first meeting included a healthy dose of action as well as embarrassment. It may not have been love but it was strong and sparked a rocky relationship. Rocky? If volcanos are little nuisances...

Nick looked at Andi with suspicion even as each glance included desire. Andi couldn’t help the attraction either but given their situation, she reluctantly agreed to cooperate, knowing close quarters was going to be rough… On her temper and her control…

The back and forth between these two threaded this action-filled, suspenseful read to the brim with attitude and emotion. Anger, humor, desire – it was all there, in each spirited conversation and every time their defenses dropped just a little. They were both wary but their inner voices, and their beloved furry friends, told them to trust their instincts…

This was another one-sitting read that I wish I could have read slower to enjoy it longer! ~Diane, 5 stars

Review copy was received from Publisher. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I loved the action and law enforcement work in the second book of the Federal K-9 series. The author has 23 years as a federal agent and it shows. Although, I hope some things are fictionalized because Andi was in significant danger. Why didn't she have a Kevlar vest and helmet even?  We met Nick briefly in Locked N Loaded with his best friend Matt's story.

Andi is a amazing women who has had awful men in her life. A man she considers a good friend has vanished and is a suspect in a crime. Nick is investigating and law enforcement doesn't know if Andi is involved. He is assigned to keep an eye on Andi while they track her old friend and see if she can be cleared.

I love Andi's strength and her business is great fun.  The dogs are in this story, maybe not quite as much as I'd like, but they are definitely in it. Nick is really a good guy; he just isn't sure if he can love again after the death of his wife  He is spot on being worried about Andi as they scoop up the suspects. I really enjoyed getting to know him.

Armed N Ready is an emotional roller-coaster. I'm a little mad at how Andi didn't take the dangers seriously at first.  The romance happens quickly as often happens in romantic suspense.  I'll definitely be going on with the series.

Narration:
I read the first book as an ebook from the library.  I was excited to get this one for audio review. Vanessa Daniels is the narrator for both in the series so far.  I was comfortable with her male and female voices. Nick definitely has a bit of east coast vibe.  I enjoyed the performance at my new usual 1.5x speed.

* Even though this book is part of a series, you can read it as a standalone.

While Andi is staying over at her best friends house, when he is out of town, his house is barged in by the government serving search warrant and looking for illegal arms dealing. As the owner of a dog cafe on the edge of town, Andi has never been in any real trouble and when she in implicated as an accomplice she is just really confused. But then Sgt Nick Houston and his K-9 Saxon barge into her life, going undercover to drag her friend out of hiding. Not only does Andi turn out to be in way more danger than she thought from the criminals, her heart is also on the line this time.

Pro's:
+ Again, I love the way the dogs star in this series thus far and this book even has some non-K-9 bonus dogs. The author really has a talent in making this dogs as real as possible, not some to-good-to-be-true fantasy pooches.
+ The writing in this book is really good, it had me hooked from the beginning and I only was able to stop reading after I finished the book. There are some really good action scenes and they alone are worth the read.

Con's:
- I feel like the author is having a thing with chest muscles, because in this entry they are also described A LOT. Like the previous book, it definitely is the most irritating this about the whole story, we got it after telling us about them once or twice.

Another great read, which would have been 4-stars, but since there is a German Shepard in this book, I will will give it another star just for that. This book is really entertaining and will keep you glued to the pages, the story is actually really well put together and has a great flow to it. It is a lighter novel, not heavy or complicated, but it has enough action to not let you fall into boredom. I will definitely pick up the next books, this is getting better and better and I want to learn more about these great dogs.

This book captivated me from the heartfelt dedication through every single page, I could not get enough of this story. Andi is staying at a friends house while the plumbing at her place is being repaired. She's in the wrong place at the wrong time when the state police led by Sgt Nick Houston, serve a warrant to search the house. Nick is pretty hostile during his initial meeting with Andi, who is in the shower in her bikini bathing her dog. Nick's K-9 partner is Saxon, responds to commands given in German and they are a team. You can sense that from just reading the book. Nick is the head of a task force that stars Andi's friend who is wanted for arms sale and money laundering. The friend has ghosted, leaving Andi to fend for herself and even when she's incriminated, she is undaunted and maintains her innocence.
Andi owns the coffee/dog cafe on the outskirts of town. The business is doing well, but the Feds have frozen her assets and now she's got Nick working with her as a bartender. All part of a plan to lure her friend back and into custody. When Andi's almost kidnapped things escalate as does the relationship between Nick and Andi. I loved these two together and Nick know she was innocent, but her needed to stay close as her life was in danger, they were waiting for Joe to make contact and still unsure who the boss of this mess was. Andi's backstory was painful, as was Nick's and both had to overcome their own issues while trying not the let it erode what they have so far achieved.
This story has just the right amount of suspense and romance and the as always bring so much to the story. I loved book 1, if you haven't go back and read that one too.
Thank you Tee for this amazing read, for remembering Sean and his beautiful life.

Armed N Ready🤩

Nick is working with a Task Force to get illegal guns taken off the streets. This leads to a warrant being served on a house, where the only occupant is a guest, Andi - who has been implicated in the course of the investigation. Andi and Nick begin working together and as they spend more time together, they both start to feel more for the other. However, Andi’s mistrust of the male species is clearly an issue as is Nick opening his heart to someone😢 Let’s just say it’s not only the officer and the DPC owner who get together😉

I really enjoyed this story, it was well-developed and involved, but also suspenseful and again left me no clue as to who the person involved in the gun trafficking was🤔 A wonderful story and ending to Nick and Andi❤️ I look forward to Eric’s story next❣️

I truly enjoyed this installment in the Federal K-9 series. Andi was easy to understand and know, making me like her from the start. I became invested in Nick immediately as well. I like that the author didn’t go too far into his closed off, determined nature, but rather lightly used that to help understand his past. They made a great couple, even when disagreeing. The people around them rounded out the story and made me wish I was a part of it all…even the dogs seemed familiar. The danger around them built to a wonderful climax, making me read faster and faster, as the sexy romance blossomed. I cannot wait for book 3!

Having thoroughly enjoyed reading the first book in this series, Lock 'N' Load, I wondered if this would be as great a read so I requested and was lucky enough to be given a copy of this book, via NetGalley. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it - and it definitely is another superb story! It proved to be an enthralling, suspense filled story and a real page turner that I definitely didn't want to put down until everything had been resolved!

The story starts with Andi Hardt giving her dog, Stray, a bath . . . . when the police raid the house she's staying in. Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Nick Houston and his K-9 partner, Saxon, are the ones who discover her - in her string bikini which leaves little to the imagination! Now, many folk would be cowed by such a scenario, but not Andi, who doesn't immediately notice the uniform and acts before she thinks! This is the start of an intriguing romantic suspense where Andi is inadvertently in danger from every side as the secret activities of the owner of the house she was staying in are revealed and photographs of he and Andi together result in her being in the spotlight from all sides.

This is a tense, action packed story with great human and canine characters in a thrilling adventure that I have no hesitation in highly recommending to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense - and even more so to those who appreciate brilliant canine characters having important roles to play, too!

The second book in the Federal K-9 series is an exciting and passionate read that catapults readers right into the danger alongside the strong, captivating characters. Nick and Andi has some deliciously sizzling chemistry that readers can practically feel flowing from the pages as the characters send sparks flying in every direction every time they come into contact whether in passion or heated clashes. Andi just wants to keep her dream alive but Nick Houston is determined to bring down an illegal gun dealer down and Andi is his best lead which sets this couple on an emotional roller coaster full of romance, passion, the angst of making life altering choices and facing their desires.

Readers can’t help but become completely enthralled with the story as the fast pace and thrilling suspense keeps readers hanging on to every word throughout Nick’s toughest assignment he’s had to face during his career. This story also has some delightful and charming interactions between the canines of the story further entertaining readers and the author does a great job of making her story convincing and lifelike so readers can easily imagine each and every scene as it happens during this spirited, entertaining and absorbing romance.

This second book in the Federal K=9 series is a fantastic, fast paced story with sexy cop Nick and his K=9 partner Saxon at the center. Nick and Saxon are hot on the trail of an illegal gun trader and they don't have time to deal with the uncooperative owner of the Dog Park Cafe. Andi Hart won't risk her new business for anyone or anything. Not even the very sexy officer Nick Houston. Problem is he holds all the cards and ultimately she has to help him with his investigation. Now they are thick in things and there is danger at every turn. Andi has to let her guard down and rely on Nick to keep her safe. Will he end up being her biggest mistake?

I highly recommend this one.

LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED

This book had everything to keep the reader interested! You had the suspense of what was going on and why the police barged in on Andi when she was bathing her dog. You had the undeniable attraction between Andi and Nick. You had Nick's heartbreaking past. And you had a side romance between some of the other characters.

I found it hard to put this book down and it's been awhile since I've felt that way!

Nick, a sergeant for the Massachusetts state police, and his K-9 partner, Saxon, are after a major illegal gun dealer. They have a lead, she just isn't cooperating. And while Saxon may be in experiencing puppy love, and Nick himself can't deny the pull he feels to her, it does make their job even harder. Besides, she's a suspect and he will never cross that line, regardless of how badly he wants to with her.

Andi, the owner of the Dog Park Cafe, put everything - her heart, soul, and just about every penny - into making her dream a reality. Yes, it caters to dogs and people, but the two do go hand in hand a lot of times. Not to mention, it's fun and relaxing. And then she meets Nick and he wants what she may or may not know. Being a state trooper, she does have to share that information with him, and she wants to.

Nick will do everything to keep Andi safe, his ability to remain strictly professional with her obliterated in the face of their connection. But with danger all around them, choices will have to be made, ones that will change everything.

Can Nick and Saxon keep Andi safe? Will he catch the bad guy and put him behind bars will he belongs? What happens to his relationship with Andi when the case is closed? Can she handle loving a man in his line of work? Will her cafe survive? Is a HEA possible?

One-click now and follow along as two people race to see justice served and fall in love along the way.

I found this book in the romance section. However, there is more suspense than anything.
K-9 police officer, Sargent Nick Houston is investing illegal gun sales. His best lead is the owner of a dog park cafe. She happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. She is staying at a friend's house who is being investigated for some shady money transfers and money laundering. Which may have something to do with illegal gun sales. Andi-the owner of the dog park cafe- is trying to wash a dog when Sargent Houston barges in and gets an eyeful. He says he is serving a warrant to search the house. Andi has no idea what is going on with her friend and he has vanished with some nasty people after him. Andi's life is turned upside down her accounts are frozen and with no money to pay employees, the future of her business in in doubt. She is now embroiled in an investigation and considered probably guilty by association. Scary how easy it would be to destroy someone's life like that. Fast paced and exciting, kept my interest and lots of action and suspense. Romance yes, but so much was going on here that that was only part of the story. Will look for more books from this author.

Armed N' Ready was a fantastic read. Nice consistent pacing; nothing felt too rushed or too drawn out. The romantic aspects of the story felt realistic and were very enjoyable to read about. The characters were fantastic and while dealing with their own trauma they also had some great character development.

I loved the bits of action in this story as well. I felt like they were well placed and not just there to push the characters together. Totally great story.

This one was interesting in that I liked how Nick fought his feelings for Andi. Their first meeting had me laughing as Nick was trying to do the right thing as Andi got pulled into a crazy situation. I liked that quickly Nick was on Andi’s side and did what he could to help clear her name. I was stunned by the action at the end, at how determined Nick was despite what happened to him.

Author tends to insert random first person sentences in the middle of the third person narrative, which has me wanting to take a red pen to my Kindle. Otherwise I’m enjoying the story, though I found this book somewhat more predictable than book one.

A great second book in and tense and fab series. After getting over the set up (him forcing her to help with the investigation to get her life back) I enjoyed the story. Saxon and Stray are wonderful and the twist st the end completely unexpected.

Nick Houston is the next K9 handler in line for an unconventional romance!

Nick is part of a task force looking into the financial convolutions of an associate of Andi Hardt, He and the task force give Andi a bit of scare when they carry out a search of her Ex's home whilst she is only in a very small bikini! Saxon is a very good K9 partner and ndi and her dog has coralled efficiently.

But as the story progresses it becomes clear that Andi is innocent but she is still tangled up in the miss and she is soon a target. But can Nick separate his feelings for Andi from his duties to the Taskforce?

Andi's business is perfect for her new lifestyle! I would love to be there - dogs, good food, great staff - what else do you need?!

The plot was fast paced and the action takes place over a short period of time. But the storyline is well crafted and timed and the characters are really relatable. Saxon and Stray are adorable and I loved meeting them. I cannot wait to see what happens between a certain K9 handler/Agent and Andi's very capable (but nervous around LEO's) Manager! Seeing the original couple from book 1 was also great as it ties the stories together.

My only complaint was that the baddie had to be connected to Scotland! Why are we always the baddie???? Lol

I'm really intrigued by this series and I am completely hooked to these K9 based stories!
