This series is pretty easy to enjoy with its creative supernatural shenanigans, but could be just as easy to hate on with the whole special snowflake syndrome
So Imma review this as a fun paranormal book that didn't take itself seriously
This series is just fun. The characters are hilarious and leave you wanting more. The heroine has a unique backstory that I’m excited to see how its developed. The harem isn’t a total smut fest *bummer* and there are some lines that are pretty fucking funny.
“Nora, if you don’t relax, I’m going to duct tape your ass to the couch.”
We are *finally* getting some real development of the characters. the harem start forming with more chemistry and bonds that makes these characters all the more developed and better for it
“Terrance’s answering grunt-and-glare combo makes Nick raise his hands in surrender. “Subject closed. You’re in excellent health.”
“Damn right.”

Rook werewolf and kinda moody in this one
and our newest addition *and my fav* Illren the fae assassin who definitely came into this situation all like ...
I honestly think Illren is my fucking favorite because he adds some edge and spunk that was *sorely* missing

Rook growls, pissed at the innuendo, but everyone else laughs. I punch Illren in the shoulder. When he cocks an amused brow at me, I realize I’ve just hit a notorious assassin, and I’m not worried in the least.”
Looking back its almost like the authors were trying to give Nora personality by having her interact with guys of those traits
She needs to be sweet? send her off with Ollie
Needs more badassness? ship her with the assassin for some edge
Mary-sue vibes? say her as dominant as alpha werewolf
I really really adore each of these characters so I guess it totally worked in how they each bring out different side of Nora and they doesn't need to be all super macho alphas. But this technique also made me clearly pick favorites
The gem in this book is we get some real development occurring *yay*
We know our heroine better. She shares her dreams, and gets a job which builds to more supernatural mysteries that I always adore
We interact with the guys more, which really allows for more development of them individually and as a harem
We still learning about the supernatural world that is completely new to Nora, but she really pushing herself to develop her powers and venture outside the one supernatural club
My main complaint is that.... for a reverse harem we not really progressing physically wise. We on the third book and she only sorta kissing some of men in her harem (◡﹏◡✿)
I mean I really sorta picked a reverse harem to enjoy the characters, sexyness and a plot. We got two of three of those, acknowledgly in abundance which keeps me reading but definitely isn't what I was expecting first coming into this.
I get that this series is also pretty easy to hate on. There are clearly some issues with this series and you could spend the whole time critiquing it - the special snowflake, rough plot development, some cliches secrets that are supposed to be plot twists. But the fun characters, unique magic & worldbuilding kept me intrigued and reading the rest of this series.
Definitely recommend for the hilarious boy band, this harem is the funniest mixture of magic and personalities that i really enjoy each one which makes Nora all the more entertaining as she gets to know each of these characters more.

I'm not the Rook fan that so many readers are, and this book sealed the deal with Rook staying off my book-boyfriend list. Why? He says his favorite Christmas movie is Home Alone. Really, dude? Are you 8 years old? Because, the last book said you are a werewolf who is over 100 years old. What the hell happened?

Girls, take a word of advice from your old Auntie Jilly. If a guy tells you his favorite Christmas movie is Home Alone, he is a man-child. Stay away - far away. Not only because he will just be another kid for you to raise, but also because he will also think farts are the funniest things in the world. So, not only will you be stuck doing absolutely everything responsible in life, watching America's Funniest Home Videos every week, and cleaning around him while he plays Fortnite; but he will also probably awaken you each morning in the traditional man-child way: the Dutch Oven. Yeah. You don't need shit like this. His boyish charm will get real old real fast. Choose a man instead.
Now keep sewing my shit, then can we have pizza for dinner again?

His name is Illren, but I'm allowing the strange name because he's Fae. They have weird names. It's a cultural thing and I'm all about respecting other cultures. Except Bro Culture. I'm all about respecting cultures that don't include a bunch of Chads.
Put that thing back where it came from or so help me.
The reason I didn't like this book as well as the others is because although Nora is getting more and more special as the story progresses, and she's the most powerful being ever.... there is no evidence of it. She does a little too much Damsel-in-Distressing. I just want to see her become a badass that she, as a Mary Sue, should be.

Ah, now I understand all the reviews calling Nora a Mary Sue. She was just too perfect, everyone wants her, want to make her happy or made excuses for her. I wish she were more edgy.
We finally got the RH that seemed impossible from the beginning, although the harem was slow in developing I was still intrigued and I wish this book explored it more. We weren't given much of the men's characters, everyone just seemed surly and possessive. Oliver seems like a child that everyone has to protect and I don't really care for it seeing as he's the most powerful sorcerer in the state.
I really wish something was done to Henry, I am certain the author is going to dial up his crazy psycho tendencies by a lot in the succeeding books. I am tired of reading about him.
I do like this series though, having Nora find clues is quite exciting. For the love of all that is holy, give her some spunk.

3.5 Stars? I guess.
Some progress was made and I dig the new addition. I’m a little disappointed with who’s out of the harem, but I get it. And Nora being a special snowflake Mary Sue (yes, both!) irks me to no end. She could use a little edge.

"Underworld Chronicles - Erwacht" ist der 3. Band der "Nora Jacobs" Reihe vom Autorenduo Jackie May.
Auch dieser Teil hat mir wieder richtig gut gefallen! Die Action lässt allerdings ein wenig nach, was ich etwas schade finde. Spannend ist die Geschichte aber trotzdem. Ich mag auch die Charaktere und die Entwicklung der Story gerne. Die Beziehung zwischen den Charakteren ist hier einmal abseits der Norm, was mir persönlich wirklich gut gefällt.
Von mir gibt es 4,5 Sterne, die ich auf Portalen ohne Zwischennoten gerne auf 5 aufrunde.

It seems the more I read these books, the more trouble Nora get's into. And this time it's really bad, so many people die it's actually quite sad. None of the main characters, thankfully, but still. But on the other side, we finally get some questions answered. Some I already knew the answer to and with some I was pleasantly surprised by. I also like the new hot assassin fea guy. I think he will spice the relationship Nora has with her men up. In this book we actually get some sexy time but not much. I can only hope Nora makes more progress with her PTSD in the upcoming books, because I'm definitely looking forward to the next one.

More fluffy than Fluffle puff at a foam party
but strangely I almost enjoyed it. I don't remember Nora being so annoyingly sweet before but I'll continue on even if the slow burn is killing me. T-man needs to be wiped from her vocabulary and that would be a step in the right direction.

Ohne die (wie üblich) mega geile Performance von Luisa Wietzorek (Queen!!!!💖💖) bei der Vertonung des Hörbuchs wäre mir vermutlich aufgefallen, dass das Buch inhaltlich eigentlich voll der Trash ist😅😅😅 So kann ich sagen, ich hab es sehr genossen Nora und "ihre Männer" zu begleiten. Leider sind ja einfach alle Charaktere echt sympathisch, daher konnte ich dieses plötzlich aufkommende Reverse Harem Thema nicht mal richtig hassen, was ich normalerweise definitiv getan hätte, aber es passt einfach so gut in diese trashige Story😂 Soll jede*r leben wie beliebt, wir gucken mal ob das klappt😄

Dragging a bit.
Okay, so the word is out about Nora, somewhat. She and her cohorts are still trying to keep her exact fae classification a secret because others like her were hunted to near extinction.
In this installment, Nora is helping to find a killer who is targeting the fae. As she is working the case, she begins to interact with more of her fae brethren, and in so doing learns more about herself. She is given a brief history of her kind, and why it’s necessary for her to keep a harem. It’s a nice, neat little bow on the harem plot device that allows her to move forward with her “men”. Okay, with this new revelation you might be thinking that the story arc would start progressing a little more quickly with the harem. You’d be wrong.
Here’s where it starts losing me... Nora is able to quickly rationalize having multiple partners, with very little difficulty. However, she still struggles with any physical contact beyond kissing and light touches. The two things seem incongruent to me. How can a character so very traumatized by interpersonal relations accept a polyamorous lifestyle so quickly and easily, with minimal emotional distress? She’s showing significant emotional growth in one area, and no emotional growth in another. It just doesn’t make any sense. She literally went from stress and worrying over which man she should choose, to being OK with having them all in what felt like one chapter. And yet we’re on the third book, and she’s barely moved past kissing any of the men in her harem.
The mystery was pretty good with this one, albeit not as good as the first two books. But, I’m just losing interest. Nora is too perfect. The men are lacking depth. Ollie presents like a 16 yr. old, and it’s creepy. And Rook, who had previously been my favorite, was volatile and pouty. But overall, nothing is happening. Meh.

I do like that some of the main guys are not all in love with her. I like that Terrance sees her as more like a daughter and that Nick sees her as just a friend and are not all head over heels in love with her.
I just don't see how this is going to all be wrapped up in the next and final book.

Ich habe das Buch in 3 Tagen verschlungen und dabei jede Menge Spaß gehabt! Es ist sicher kein literarisches Meisterwerk und von absurden bis cringy Szenen ist alles dabei. Aber die Reihe ist auch super unterhaltsam und man kann völlig darin versinken. Einfach perfekt um Mal den Kopf auszuschalten und einfach Spaß zu haben mit Nora, ihren Männern und den Kriminalfällen😂

I so love this series, it's hero's and the heroine is so badass!!! I can't wait for the next installment.

I managed to finish this series. I will just copy this review to all four books.
What to say? I liked the series an it worked for me.
Nora (and I was warned about it) is a special snow flake. Still I wanted to read this series, because I love Kelly Oram's books and here she coauthors with her husband.
At the beginning of the series, Nora believes that she is human and has some strange psychic abilities. She can see the past by touching a person or object and has a warning mechanism, when her life is threatened. And believe me her life is threaten more and more. And she has an allure on men. The can't stay away from her, are drawn to her or even obsessed with her.
In the first book she goes to Underworld with her neighbour and an unknown guy. And it starts the trouble. Underworld is a club that belongs to Terrance a troll and a friend of Nora. She actually goes there, because she knows that Terrance will protect her if the creepy neighbour gets handsy. Suddenly she is tangled up in the supernatural world, have a lot of supernatural guys very interested in her. But she is not interested in relationships because she was raped in her past.
In all the four books are different cases Nora helps to solve with her special abilities. At the same time she is actually very deep in the the supernatural world and attracted to many guys.
There are many secrets about Nora which unfold in those four books. In the end there is a show down. I was a little annoyed that it was so clear who the bad guy will be when Nora was like why did you betray me? That part was a little annoying. But overall I liked the series and in this case Nora the special snow flake worked for me.

In Detroit werden überall Fey angegriffen und getötet, zum Glück ist Noras bester Freund Terrence noch mit dem Leben davongekommen. Aber das macht die Sache persönlich und Nora hilft der Federal Underworld Agency so gut sie kann, um diese hinterhältigen Killer zu finden. Dabei hat Nora auch ohne übernatürliche Angriffe genug mit ihren Männern zu tun, denn nicht nur der Werwolf, der Magier und der Vampir konkurrieren um ihre Aufmerksamkeit.
Obwohl ich die Geschichte oft albern finde, fand ich es doch unterhaltsam und der dritte Band war auch nicht schlechter als die Vorgänger, es geht im gleichen Stil weiter wie bisher. Ich finde das magische Abenteuer und die Ermittlungen schon oft spannend, nur Noras komplizierte Beziehungen mit ihren vielen Männern lassen mich oft die Augen verdrehen, und Noras magische Anziehung auf Männer ist eigentlich schon das Hauptthema der Reihe. Ich fand aber auch, dass die Handlung durchaus schlüssig war, da wir ja erfahren haben, was für ein Wesen Nora ist, und es passte einfach alles zusammen. Ich war schon etwas überrascht, dass man hier so einen Weg gegangen ist, da ich einige andere Bücher von Kelly Oram kenne und die Protagonistinnen da anders mit ihren Beziehungen umgehen.

Wer die bisherigen Bücher der Reihe mochte, wird auch bei "Underworld Chronicles - Erwacht" wieder Spaß an den Abenteuern von Nora und ihren Männern haben. Ich fand das Buch wieder spannend und unterhaltsam, wenn auch etwas albern - wie die Vorgänger eben auch.

This book dropped out of nowhere, catching me by surprise and making me have to quickly reread the other 2 first!! While I’m not a fan of the long time between releases, I can’t complain too much as the quality of these novels proves that tune is used to the fullest. Not only do I adore Nora Jacobs, I am quickly falling in love with her harem of supportive men - and those that have befriended her! If I could put 6 stars here, I would.
Pros:
- Nora: Her bada$$ persona comes from her heart and soul, not to mention the things she’s overcome. She’s not a sword wielding savant or a powerhouse of offensive magic - she’s a girl who uses what she’s got, loves all she can and is learning to trust, not only in herself, but her family.
- Rook... he doesn’t play as strong of a role in this novel as in book 2, but he’s still fantastic- and so honest.
- very well written, first person done right.
- Nick: how can a character who is not a love interest be so bloody sexy?!
- Plot progression.... this is a slow moving narrative, though each book is filled with action. The over arching plot is gently layered as the chapters pass.
- exceedingly slow burn RH, if you are looking for more than emotional heat with intense kisses, then this is not the series for you. These characters are given the chance to grow- and fall in love.

- Nora: Her bada$$ persona comes from her heart and soul, not to mention the things she’s overcome. She’s not a sword wielding savant or a powerhouse of offensive magic - she’s a girl who uses what she’s got, loves all she can and is learning to trust, not only in herself, but her family.
- Rook... he doesn’t play as strong of a role in this novel as in book 2, but he’s still fantastic- and so honest.
- very well written, first person done right.
- Nick: how can a character who is not a love interest be so bloody sexy?!
- Plot progression.... this is a slow moving narrative, though each book is filled with action. The over arching plot is gently layered as the chapters pass.
- exceedingly slow burn RH, if you are looking for more than emotional heat with intense kisses, then this is not the series for you. These characters are given the chance to grow- and fall in love.

Diese Serie erobert mit jedem weiteren Band mein Herz. Ich mag Nora und ihren Harem voller Männer. Doch gibt es zwei für die mein Herz schlagen. Ich bin weiterhin #teamoliver und #teamparker. Die Autorin baut so viel Humor in diese Geschichten ein, dass man so oft loslachen muss. Außerdem lässt es sich so schnell lesen, ich habe es gerade in den letzten Stunden durchgesuchtet und konnte und wollte gar nicht aufhören. Es macht mir so viel Spaß immer mehr über Nora zu erfahren und auch sie selbst ist ein liebenswerter Charakter. So eine Freundin kann sich jeder nur wünschen. Ich bin gespannt, was sich die Autorin für den letzten Band überlegt hat. Leider muss ich da noch bis Dezember warten. 😢😫 Ich kann die Serie echt nur empfehlen, wobei ich bei dem Thema Männer noch ein wenig skeptisch bin.

Probably more like 3.5, but I'm rounding up to be nice.
This series has a light feel that isn't usually what I go for. It's just quite fluffy and everyone is so nice!
But there was progression on the relationship front, even if my two favourite characters are the two not in the harem, at least Illren has potential. Rook is too moody, Parker's too bland and Oliver is too nice!
If you want some light detective UF with slow burn RH then you could do a lot worse, but I don't think this series will ever be a favourite.

Puh, schwierig. Der Schreibstil hat mir in diesen Buch überhaupt nicht gefallen. Auch die Handlung lies eher zu wünschen übrig; es ging mehr um die 49394939. Romanze als um den Spannungsfaktor. Werde trotzdem dem letzten Teil eine Chance geben.

Damn when I started this series I for some reason thought there would be more out. Unfortunately I’ve caught up with the series and have no idea when the next one comes out.
This series is amazing, it is very telling vs showing but again it isn’t too bad as there are moments we do get to experience. Wish we had more in-depth I sometimes want to see the events we’ve glossed over.
I am loving the Nora Jacobs series though, and all the men in her harem. Some aren’t event romantically involved with her which makes the whole thing interesting too.
I enjoy the investigation and the series is very simple too.

Hard to put down once I started. I absolutely am enthralled with Illren and couldn't approve more. I usually wouldn't be for another new addition, but my eyes keep begging for him to pop up for more page-time. He steals the show, and most of the book really. Oliver has grown on me as sweet and video-game buddy perfection; their relationship is just so warm. Rook and Parker give the excited tingles, even if on Rook's side there are more issues with the territorial thing. Terrance is part of the "clan" but not in a way it might have happened, but just as important.
We get more of the loathsome Henry and he's here to hate even more. Another crime to solve, but not a mystery really. There is too much of the FUA again and one thing I didn't like is how Nora keeps having so much manipulation and choices stripped from her, even from her own people, about this job. Grrrr. I still hate the FUA. How can she get over how much they didn't care what Henry did to her and humans with kidnapping, enslaving, hurting or killing when she wasn't of value to them as just a normal human until Terrance stepped in? And with slaps on the wrist with Henry? The agency isn't respectable or fair, so I'm not getting it. At all. I'm not against the consultation case stuff or her being independent, but ugh otherwise.
And the last chapters? That just went odd-ball weird. Not sure what to think yet.
Nora learns much thanks to Giselle about her relationships (fun meeting), and there are several stand out moments, especially the phone call and meeting with Illren, the bonding Thanksgiving, Rook and the Christmas tree decorating, just many moments to savor. It's re-readable. Finally Nora gets resolution about what she needs but she still doesn't progress much (besides losing fear) about intimacy stuff. We shall see.

These keep getting better and better. I love watching the ever changing dynamics between Nora and her men and how much she heals each book. I'm going to read the next Shayne Davies book like the author suggests but I really want to get back to NORA!. I love Terrance and Oliver so much. Nick Gorgeous, not much one can say but meow for him.

Nora Jacobs, Queen Mary Sue, ermittelt wieder …
Wenn ich mir die Gesamtbewertung des Buches und andere Rezensionen anschaue, frage ich mich, ob ich das gleiche Buch gelesen habe wie die anderen – aber gut, so ist das eben. Geschmäcker sind verschieden und Meinungen können auseinander gehen. Das bitte ich auch bei meiner Rezension zu beachten – es ist eben nur meine (!) Meinung.
Band 1 fand ich echt ganz gut, Band 2 hat mich dagegen zum Verzweifeln gebracht, doch ich hatte noch Hoffnung, dass es wieder besser werden könnte. Tja, war nicht so wirklich was. Doch erst einmal das Wesentliche, was mir zu diesem Buch einfällt:
Nora ist die Schönste.
Nora ist die Stärkste.
Nora ist die Liebenswerteste.
Nora ist die Intelligenteste.
Nora ist sowieso und überhaupt bei allem immer die Beste.
Ich weiß nicht, ob dem Autorenduo beim Schreiben bewusst war, dass sie eine kolossale Mary Sue erschaffen (die meiner Meinung nach sogar Zoey aus House of Night in den Schatten stellt, denn Zoey wurde zumindest hin und wieder mal kritisiert und nicht gemocht). Ich wäre überrascht, wenn nicht, denn die Autoren lassen eigentlich keine Gelegenheit aus, um andere Charaktere hervorheben zu lassen, wie toll Nora doch ist.
Doch wo sind wir eigentlich gerade in der Geschichte? Nora hat kürzlich herausgefunden, zu welcher Unterweltler-Spezies sie gehört – sie ist eine Fee, genauer gesagt eine Sirene. Das erklärt zwar einiges, macht die Story dadurch aber mitnichten besser. Außerdem steht sie zu Beginn dieses Bandes immer noch vor der Frage, für welchen ihrer Männer sie sich entscheiden soll – so gut wie sämtliche Figuren deuten direkt am Anfang schon an, dass es eh auf alle hinauslaufen wird, also weiß ich nicht, inwiefern die schockierende Offenbarung, dass Nora einen Harem gründen muss, damit nicht mehr ALLE Männer auf der Welt auf sie fliegen, die Leser noch überraschen sollte, aber gut.
Des Weiteren gibt es auch in diesem Band wieder einen Fall zu lösen – ein Mörder hat es auf Feenwesen abgesehen und Nora ist – natürlich – die einzige Person in ganz Detroit, die helfen kann. Doch ehrlich gesagt geht die Mordermittlung regelmäßig in dem ganzen Chaos um Noras Männerschar und ihre Bemühungen, mit ihrer Perfektion klarzukommen, unter.
Ich muss an der Stelle anmerken: Das ist meine erste Buchreihe, in der eine Sirene die Hauptfigur ist, und meine erste Buchreihe mit einem richtigen Reverse Harem und einer polyamorösen Beziehung.
Aber ich denke … Das geht schon besser. Ich bin ehrlich, in Büchern steh ich mehr auf die große Liebe zwischen zwei Charakteren. Aber ich akzeptiere natürlich auch anderes, wenn gut gemacht. Bei dieser Reihe wird mir mit jedem Band mehr klar, wie sehr das in die Hose gegangen ist.
Als Sirene übt Nora unbewusst einen anziehenden Gesang auf alle Männer aus, ich verstehe das und kannte das Schema natürlich schon vorher. Doch ich bezweifle einfach, dass es nicht auch möglich ist, von so etwas zu schreiben, OHNE dass die Protagonistin die totale Mary Sue ist, weil halt einfach alle sie unfassbar toll finden. Die Autoren haben sich meiner Meinung nach auch keinerlei Mühe gegeben, diesen Eindruck zumindest abzuschwächen (denn wie gesagt, ich will nicht glauben, dass sie das nicht gemerkt haben …). Sämtliche von Noras Fähigkeiten verstärken das Bild als Mary Sue.
Bei Berührung anderer Menschen kann sie deren Gedanken lesen – dieses Konzept dient in 9 von 10 Fällen nur dazu, damit wir lesen, wie toll ihr Gegenüber sie findet. Irgendwann konnte ich nicht mehr hören, was für ein bezauberndes Wesen sie doch sein soll.
Bei Berührung von Gegenständen, Leichen, Menschen etc. erhält sie einen mentalen Abdruck: sie kann in die Vergangenheit blicken – diese Fähigkeit macht sie anscheinend zur einzigen Person in ganz Detroit, die übernatürliche Mordfälle lösen kann. Ich frage mich wirklich, was die FUA vorher gemacht hat. Fälle gelöst definitiv nicht.
Nora spürt es, wenn ihr jemand etwas Schlechtes will – damit wird es superschwer, Nora zu töten, da sie Angriffe auf sich quasi vorhersieht.
Und wenn sie will, ohne sonderlich viel Übung, kann sie einfach mal mehrere hundert (teils starke) Unterweltler ihrer emotionalen Kontrolle unterziehen. Kein Wunder, ihr wird ja immer wieder gesagt, dass sie die wohl stärkste Unterweltlerin Detroits sei. Wieso eigentlich genau? Egal, wird schon stimmen.
Ferner zieht sich auch durch diesen Teil, was mir bereits im zweiten auffiel: Noras Charakter ist viel zu flach. Noch immer hat sie neben ihrem Mary Sue-Dasein kaum Persönlichkeit. Es werden immer die richtigen Entscheidungen getroffen, sie weiß immer genau, was die anderen gerade brauchen, nie wird sie mal für etwas kritisiert. Nora weiß einfach immer Bescheid und jeder hechelt ihr hinterher.
Doch auch den anderen Figuren mangelt es an Charaktertiefe – kein Wunder, bei den meisten dreht sich sowieso alles nur noch um Nora. Ich bin mir sicher, auch einen Reverse Harem kann man besser schreiben. Die meisten „ihrer Männer“ sind einfach nur absolut besessen von ihr und überschreiten regelmäßig Noras Grenzen. Ich find’s wirklich gut, wie thematisiert wird, dass Nora aufgrund ihrer Vergangenheit länger braucht, um wieder körperliche Nähe zulassen zu können (dass dabei emotional bei mir aber nichts ankommt, dazu unten mehr). Es wird immer wieder (von Nora oder anderen) deutlich gemacht, dass Berührungen und Kontakt von ihr ausgehen müssen – trotzdem ignorieren vor allem Rook und Illren das regelmäßig: berühren sie, umarmen sie, ziehen sie auf ihren verdammten Schoß. Und das Schlimme daran ist einfach, dass Nora in diesen Situationen ständig irgendwelche dummen Ausreden findet, wieso sie das jetzt plötzlich irgendwie okay findet (Rook verliert sonst die Kontrolle über seinen Wolf, ihr ist kalt, also sei’s drum, …). Parker bewegt sich mittlerweile irgendwo in einer Grauzone und Oliver ist eigentlich der Einzige, der ihre Grenzen gänzlich akzeptiert – ich bin immer noch der Meinung, dass sie Oliver und Parker nehmen und Rook und Illren in den Wind schießen soll. Bei den beiden ist alles voll mit Red Flags. Dass drei Männer (neben den anderen, die kein romantisches Interesse an ihr haben) nicht genug waren, sodass Illren hinzukommen musste, ist ohnehin das Beste. Er wurde als extrem grenzüberschreitende Person eingeführt, aber es ist jetzt schon klar, dass Nora auch ihn in Band 4 plötzlich lieben wird, wenngleich man das emotional nicht nachfühlen kann.
Denn das kommt noch hinzu. Der Schreibstil der Autoren ist so nichtssagend wie eh und je (nur Tell, kein Show) – wir haben drei aktive Liebesbeziehungen und bei keiner kommen bei mir Emotionen an. Das ist wirklich schade.
Beim Lesen des Buches habe ich durchaus wieder gemerkt (was nichts Neues für mich ist), dass ich derartige Urban Fantasy echt mag. Viele übernatürliche Wesen, die in einer Parallelgesellschaft leben, hinzukommt ein detektivischer/kriminalistischer Aspekt und ein wenig Romantik. Underworld Chronicles könnte gut sein. Gute Ansätze sind da und die Fälle sind auch nicht per se schlecht. Die Handlung geht nur komplett unter in Noras Perfektion, ihrem Liebesdrama und dem (mMn!) schlechten Schreibstil.
Es wurde hier viel zu viel Gewicht auf den Reverse Harem gelegt, da man sowieso bereits am Anfang wusste, worauf es hinausläuft. Noras Gedanken zu ihren Männern drehen sich ständig im Kreis. Der Showdown am Ende war lächerlich einfach erledigt (Nora ist eben unbesiegbar) und das Ende ist ausreichend offen, damit man auf jeden Fall zum letzten Band greift.
Ich werde das tatsächlich auch tun, nun habe ich mich ja bereits durch drei Bände gelesen. Ich glaube nicht mehr an eine Besserung bei Nora, aber vielleicht liegt der Fokus in Band 4 ja etwas mehr auf der Geschichte, nun, da Nora ihren Harem hat. Ich glaub’s aber nicht.

Fazit: In Underworld Chronicles 3 liegt der Fokus ganz klar auf Nora und wie sie mit ihrem Dasein als Sirene zurechtkommt. Wieder mal ist der übernatürliche Fall weder langweilig noch total spannungslos, er geht jedoch unter zwischen dem Reverse Harem und der Tatsache, dass Nora eine Mary Sue ist, die von allen stets bewundert wird. Fans von Urban Fantasy, denen das aber nicht wichtig ist und die einfach eine lockere, humorvolle Geschichte haben wollen, könnten trotzdem noch Spaß mit dem Buch haben. 2,5/5 Sterne.

Es wurde hier viel zu viel Gewicht auf den Reverse Harem gelegt, da man sowieso bereits am Anfang wusste, worauf es hinausläuft. Noras Gedanken zu ihren Männern drehen sich ständig im Kreis. Der Showdown am Ende war lächerlich einfach erledigt (Nora ist eben unbesiegbar) und das Ende ist ausreichend offen, damit man auf jeden Fall zum letzten Band greift.
Ich werde das tatsächlich auch tun, nun habe ich mich ja bereits durch drei Bände gelesen. Ich glaube nicht mehr an eine Besserung bei Nora, aber vielleicht liegt der Fokus in Band 4 ja etwas mehr auf der Geschichte, nun, da Nora ihren Harem hat. Ich glaub’s aber nicht.

Fazit: In Underworld Chronicles 3 liegt der Fokus ganz klar auf Nora und wie sie mit ihrem Dasein als Sirene zurechtkommt. Wieder mal ist der übernatürliche Fall weder langweilig noch total spannungslos, er geht jedoch unter zwischen dem Reverse Harem und der Tatsache, dass Nora eine Mary Sue ist, die von allen stets bewundert wird. Fans von Urban Fantasy, denen das aber nicht wichtig ist und die einfach eine lockere, humorvolle Geschichte haben wollen, könnten trotzdem noch Spaß mit dem Buch haben. 2,5/5 Sterne.

Ein erneutes Abenteuer mit Nervenkitzel
Nora weiß endlich was sie ist. Eine Sirene. Und damit ein Feenwesen, doch das gefällt nicht jedem und von neuem fangen Angriffe in der Unterwelt an, doch diesmal mit tödlichen Folgen und fast hätte es auch ihre Familie erwischt. Wird sie es diesmal wieder schaffen, alles zum Guten zu wenden? Die Ermittlungen mit Nick und der UFA sind ausgesprochen kompliziert und Nora ist der Verzweiflung nahe.
Auch diesmal hat mich Nora wieder überzeugt. Ich liebe ihre Art, die manchmal zwar etwas gewöhnungbedürftig, aber immer wieder erfrischend ist. Dank der großartigen Sprecherin kann man sich perfekt in die Szene hineinfühlen und ist mittendrin statt nur dabei.
Ich bin so unglaublich gespannt, was nach diesem Cliffhanger in Band vier passieren wird, dass ich es kaum erwarten kann, endlich Dezember zu haben. Die Sache mit dem eigenen Clan ist megainteressant und ich bin ehrlich neugierig, wie groß er noch wird und ob Henry nicht doch noch den Kopf verliert. Verdient hätte er es jedenfalls.
Außerdem gibt es wahnsinnig witzige und kuriose Situationen, bei denen ich kaum an mich halten konnte. Nora und ihre Männer sind eine fantastische Familie, die mich immer wieder zum Lachen gebracht haben.

2nd time reading: Nora is finally starting to settle into her new life, coming to terms with who and what she is, and trying to deal with what that means. It's just super entertaining watching her understand and learn to use her powers, all the while trying to do the right thing. I think this book was the most surprising the first time I read this series and I still enjoyed it this time!

1st read: I am SO into this story! It's a total rollercoaster filled with tons of powerful supernatural creatures - and oh, the various love interests - yes, plural! And not a love triangle either. I can't even..it's making my nerves sing and flutter and my cheeks heat up with all the steamy excitement and the territorial BS (as Aelin would call it). I don't know how this keeps escalating but it's SO good!
I had no idea when I started this series that it is a Reverse Harem, why-choose paranormal romance. I didn't even know what that means...but now I do and it's freaking fun and funny and super entertaining like what is going on with these guys!?! Just wow!
