She's searching for justice. He's searching for peace. What they need is each other. They just don't know it yet...
Dean "Wolf" Garner is the kind of guy who loves hard and leaves fast. From the moment he rescues reporter Haylee Jamison in the Guatemalan jungle, he can't stop thinking about the dark-haired beauty. His life is too complicated for romantic entanglements though--and not even a woman like Haylee can convince him otherwise.
Haylee wasn't supposed to be in the drug cartel's compound, but she was captured while on a mission of her own: find the trail of fake opioids entering the US and halt the operation. Back home in DC, Haylee can't stop thinking about the gorgeous military operator who rocked her world for one steamy night before leaving. But when she uncovers a conspiracy and finds herself in danger, there's only one man she trusts to keep her safe.
It's easy for Wolf to risk his life to protect Haylee and give her the justice she desires. The hard part is taking a chance and admitting what's in his heart before it's too late.
Before he loses the best thing that's ever happened to him.
Lynn Raye Harris is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of sizzling military romantic suspense novels and contemporary romance novels. She lives in Alabama with her husband (former military), her cat, and her American Saddlebred horse.
Another great HOT book. Wolf and Haylee meet in the jungle when his team goes in to rescue a group of aid workers. He saves her from a near rape and then a escape thru the jungle. Back home they hook up again and he saves her from drug cartel she went to the jungle to find dirt on to begin with. Lots of hot sex, drama, suspense, and HOT boys to fill in all the holes.
When you least expect it love will sneak up and kick you in the behind and you will never know what hit you. That is exactly what happened to Dean "Wolf" Garner in the jungle of Guatemala when Echo went in to rescue a missionary group plus one.
Haylee Jamison had been kidnapped and was being held with a group of missionaries in the jungle on the Mexico/Guatemalan border. She had been dragged out of the hut and was about to be raped by one of the captors but she landed a knee in the area no man wants to have a knee land.
There was an electric current between Wolf and Haylee and after spending the night wrapped up in each other Wolf and Haylee figured that would be it until she found herself in trouble. Wolf was the first person she thought of and he made haste to her side.
Just when you begin to think the bad guys have been brought to justice there is still more to the story but Wolf will not let his woman be taken away so one more time he is making haste to her side. And one more time Haylee proves she is a thinking woman and makes it easy for him.
This book, like the 13 Hostile Operations Team before it was awesome. It is filled with danger, mystery, intrigue and of course one of the HOT team finds the love of his life and the perfect woman to spend the rest of his life with. I can't wait to read #15 and see what's in store for Mal.
God dang, just when you think these books couldn’t get any better, you read the next one and your world turns upside down again. I know I literally just said Cade’s story was my fav (still very much love it), but Wolf’s might definitely be my favorite one.
Dean aka Wolf, is convinced he’ll never settle down with a woman. He doesn’t understand how his other teammates can be with one girl for the rest of their lives and he knows that’ll never be him. Until a rescue mission bring Haylee into his life and suddenly sparks are flying.
From the get go Wolf has his eyes on haylee and is very interested in her. This book jumps into the action pretty immediately and we get a good solid 75ish pages of Wolf and Haylee together, talking and getting to know each other while hiking up a mountain to be rescued. Wolf can’t quite figure out why he’s interested in her, but he knows he really likes her. More than any woman he’s ever liked before, and that’s been about zero so.
After a successful rescue, Wolf and Haylee have one splendid night together before Wolf disappears for two months. Haylee’s pretty upset about this because Wolf promised to find her back in DC because he wanted to see her again.
Well two months later and Wolf and Haylee are back in each other’s lives, which is a surprise to both of them. And even more surprising to them is the fact that that spark is still there. And they both just can’t ignore it. Wolf is convinced he can’t make Haylee happy and give her what she wants, but Haylee’s not having any of that. She knows she wants a relationship with him and he does too, he’s just scared. But thankfully not scared enough to say no.
I think one thing I really liked about this book was that while they weren’t technically dating, they still were doing a form of it and getting to know each other. Which is something we’ve seen a little bit more of with them Echo squad. The Alpha squad just kinda jumped right into everything.
So safe to say that Wolf and Haylee are head over heels for each other and his teammates know it and of course tease him about it. Wolf is literally so dreamy though, he’s sweet and caring and kind and protective and has tats and makes sure Haylee is taken care of and comfortable and he loves his family to death. Like literally the perfect man (which Haylee says more than once.)
While we’ve moved into a new HOT squad, the Echo squad, we’ve also kinda moved on to a new HOT girl squad. The Alpha girls are still mentioned, but now it’s focusing more on Brooke and Bliss as the “leaders”, which only makes sense since Echo and Alpha are two different squads, although they are still friends and do work together. It’s nice to see the groups merging and the alpha squad being mentioned every now and then.
Mal’s book is next, but that doesn’t come out until September, so for now it’s time to dive into the HOT seals team! Alex is a part of this team and I am so beyond excited to get to his story eventually!
The hot guys from Hostile Operations Team's Echo Team are back and it's Wolf's turn to find love. He may be the best of the best in special forces, saving lives and rescuing civilians from danger, but when love strikes, Wolf doesn’t know what hit him. From the first moment he saw Haylee when his team rescued her and others who had been kidnapped by a drug cartel, Wolf knew there was something special about Haylee. But he thinks it’s too much to ask her to deal with his job and family issues, and she deserves more than he can give her.
With non-stop action, plenty of steam and tackling a timely social issue, Hot Justice has a little of everything. If you like your heroes alpha and protective with hearts of gold, you’ll love all of the guys from HOT. Wolf and Haylee's story is compelling and engaging, full of suspense, passion, and heart-tugging moments, and you won’t want to miss it.

I love the military covert operations-type stories that bring the unsuspecting world to the brink of destruction, except that a small but extraordinary group of people help prevent the impending disaster while we obliviously all live to see another day 😜
Hot Justice is the newest release in the Hostile Operations Team series from Lynn Raye Harris. Ms. Harris has given her readers another wonderful story with Hot Justice and yet another couple to fall for with Haylee and Wolf (Dean).
Haylee Jamison is on a mission to discover who is behind the fake opioids coming into the US that killed her best friend Nicole. When she is taken hostage along with another group of Americans in a drug compound, she is lucky enough to meet and be rescued Dean "Wolf" Garner and other members of H.O.T. I loved that even when Haylee knew her life was on the line she still fought back and didn't give up her hope for bringing the leader of the cartel to justice for her friend and other addicts like Nicole.
Wolf and Haylee had a pretty instant connection. I think the fact they both had personal reasons for wanting opioids off the street was part of it, but really they just seemed to click from the moment Wolf helped save Haylee. Haylee was a fighter and so strong and I loved that Wolf really saw who she was from the very beginning. The fact they had smoking hot chemistry from the beginning and had a hard time keeping their hands off each other, made me fall for them faster.
Hot Justice was as suspenseful as each of the books in the Hostile Operations Team books. However, I really did find more humor, especially between Haylee and Wolf in this book. I have to say it really made me love their romance a bit more. I love when a really serious story has moments of levity and Hot Justice had several along the way. I have to say, while I knew I didn't trust one particular character early on, I really had no reason other than instinct I guess. How this character acted as the story progressed completely surprised me. I love when an author keeps me guessing and throws in a curveball I'm not expecting...even when I know I should be.
Hot Justice was a wonderful addition to the Hostile Operations Team series. As always, as soon as I finished reading the newest book, I'm already anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. I highly recommend this book and series to any readers who enjoy hot military heroes with strong suspense elements to the stories.
***Updated to include Audiobook review*** Narrators: CJ Bloom and Gregory Salinas Length: 7 hrs and 59 mins Listening Speed: 1.4x
I adored the audiobook version of HOT Justice. Both CJ Bloom and Gregory Salinas did a fantastic job with all the voices of the various characters and the seamless transition between narrators kept the story moving. Once again, this is a story that kept me on the edge of my seat through much of the book, and it made me love the story even more due to that fact. The suspense element is strong in this book, but the humor is every bit as strong, and the narrators both did a fantastic job moving between humor and suspense. Ms. Harris once again picked the perfect narrators for her story.
Rating: 4.5 Stars (B+) Review copy provided by publisher
I've read a couple of these now. The writing is good. LRH is a strong writer, does a fine job with dialogue (if repetitive), and can detail a character well.
There are some patterns I've noticed that are a bit disquieting for this reader.
The plots are full of holes. The FMCs are typically victims, in danger, then out of danger, then back in danger. They often do TSTL stuff several times at bad times. In some cases, they are just victims. In this book, the FMC is determined to save the world from drug dealers after her BFF dies of an overdose. She has zero understanding about her own safety and soon impacts the safety of others due to her lack of personal regard. She feels she's on a noble mission.
The MMC, in this book and others, is, of course, alpha. But there are a couple of odd things that make me not so impressed with these heroes. First, there's a whole lot of language around consent. There's lots of questions like "Is this ok?" "Are you sure?" And "Do you want me to do this?" There are many comments around "We can stop at any time." Man, that gets really, really tiresome. It feels like $ex with a lawyer.
At the same time, these heroes say things to each other, and during interior monologues, that doesn't sound like heroes at all. They often mention difficulty with self-control. And not just the normal romance stuff, but to the point that things could go super rough and nowhere close to consent often. In one of these books, there's also an interior conversation where the MMC says he has a hard, hard time not taking advantage of the FMC when they meet for the first time, and she's fairly drunk. He goes on to think that he's glad he was the first one to approach her because he's certain that at least two of his teammates would have jumped on her. There are several examples of this kind of thing in most every book I've read so far. This doesn't sound like the behavior of honorable stand-up heroes. It lends an air of potential assault to each story.
Also, every book I've read so far includes a psychotic dude who believes they have a permanent claim on the FMC despite having no prior relationship other than casual friend. Again, this lends a bit of potential $exual assault to each story. Repeat, repeat, repeat.
I'm not yet sure about continuing with this series
"I think I could love you,Wolf. If that scares you, then I guess it's something I needed to know. Before this goes any further." "It doesn't scare me."
Oh, how I love these boys of HOT!! I seriously thing I want to be kidnapped by bad guys, just so HOT will be called in to rescue me! I realize that in real life, I am old enough to be their mother, but I really don't care. There's a lot to be said for cougars and I'm up for the challenge!
Haylee Jamison lost her best friend. The opioid epidemic claimed another victim. But Haylee is not going to stand by and let those responsible get away scott free. Her job as a reporter, and her need to expose the cartels, leads her into dangerous waters and she finds herself held hostage by the Juarez Cartel, and time is running out. Rescued by HOT, she finds herself in dangerous waters of a different kind. The kind that have the power to break your heart. The attraction to Wolf was instant, her desire for him at the boiling point. One incredible night with him, a promise to look her up once they get state-side - then he ghosted her. Back in DC, she continues to try to unravel the puzzle of how fake opiods are making their way into the US, and she uncovers political secrets, that again, put her life in danger. Only one man she knows can help her, and hopefully keep her alive.
Dean "Wolf"Garner expected to rescue ten hostages, not eleven. But that eleventh? From the moment he saw her, he knew. She was his. Wolf never got involved with a woman for any length of time, treating it like his missions - get in, get the job done, get out. But he can't stop thinking about her. Haylee. He can't seem to get enough with her, but can he really be the man she deserves? When she finds herself in danger once again, he'll protect her with his life, if needed. But can he protect her heart? And his? Will he be able to tell her how he feels before he loses her forever?
I'm so glad there are more HOT members. I really don't want this series to end! If you haven't read the series, I highly recommend it!
From the first page I was drawn into this story when Haylee burst through the hospital doors. I liked her a lot, especially her wit. She and Wolf were fun. The drama and angst were reserved for the story and action about opioid addiction and finding justice for Haylee's addicted friend who died from a tainted street drug. Although I've never been a fan of the reporter/journalist stories, this one was ok for me. Usually, the heroine is a classic TSTL who will do anything to get the story. Haylee has a choice at one point and she makes the right decision that addresses the bigger picture. I especially enjoyed the beginning of the book where they meet and make it back home. Plus, he didn't fight their connection, even if she whooped his ass at pool (perfect epilogue!).
An observation now that we're in the double digits of this series... as soon as one of these single guys meets a woman he clicks with, the team should ALL prepare themselves for the inevitable international incident. I love the idea of one of the guys having a heroine where nothing happens to her. She's not involved with anything (directly/indirectly). She goes to work, posts pictures of her cats on Instagram, and watches Netflix while eating pizza rolls. And it absolutely freaks the HOT guys out. They're suspicious and looking for something and maybe even accidentally create the international incident.
No Ian, a tiny bit of Ghost (NEED him), this is Saint's team so we get him and Brooke the most with a little Hacker and Bliss. Mal is next!
I received an ARC from the author for an honest opinion.
One of the hotter of the HOT books. But, oh my gosh, how could you not love Dean "Wolf" Garner? From the moment he rescues reporter Haylee Jamison in the Guatemalan jungle, I was hooked. (Apparently, so was she. ;) )
I appreciated the journey Haylee was on, too, trying to find justice for her friend who overdosed on illegal opioids. She's working on the story of a lifetime--but it might just get her killed. But whether she was battling drug lords in the jungle or corrupt politicians who allow the illegal drugs to enter the country, when you've got Wolf watching your back (along with the rest of the HOT team), I knew she'd end up being safe. One of my favorite heroines in the series, too.
Sort of a long ending to wrap up a lot of loose ends, but very satisfying. And I'm so curious about Mal's story now. Can't wait to read it!
Boring and unbelievable. Haylee is too naive to be possible. Young single female reporter goes into Guatemala alone looking for drug dealers. She lives alone in DC area and never seems to work. Dean is all about no commitments and does not get back in contact. Ghosts her. Yet she just goes right back with him???? Skimmed a lot of this book.
Dean Garner aka Wolf is just trying to do his job as a member of the HOT, Hostile Operations Team, and helping his parents financially, so they can gain custody of his niece and nephew while his sister is battling her opioid addiction from when she broke her back, barrel racing. It's what he does, helps.
Haylee Jamison is a Journalist who lost Nichole, her best friend when she over dosed on fake opioids, a miss-mash of drugs mixed together pressed and sold by a Mexican cartel and shipped to the US and given to people who are desperate to relieve their pain or to just get high. Haylee was in Guatemala to do research on the Juarez Cartel when she was kidnapped with some dentists doing missionary work. Wolf and his team go in and rescue them. When they get back to the US base in El Salvador, Wolf's team is stuck there over night and the team spends time in a common room with the dental group and Haylee. Since Haylee first saw Wolf there had been an electrical attraction between them. They eat some pizza, drink some beer, laugh, talk and end up betting on and playing pool. They like each other and one thing leads to another and Haylee has her first one-night stand with Wolf. They part ways the next morning.
Two months later they run into each other, Haylee is angry that Wolf seems to think after no contact that he can still tell her what to do, he's trying to keep her safe. But the more time that goes by the more he realizes there is something more going on between him and Haylee. He has never wanted a woman so bad and yet he wants to keep her at a distance to protect his own heart.
Things are HOT, and not just with the team, Haylee and Wolf explode into a hot and heavy romance, after on of Oscar Silva’s men pays her a visit at her home, he knows to much about Haylee’s kidnapping and rescue and she’s scared.
This book took me on an adventure through the jungles of Guatemala and the streets and back rooms of D.C.
And I didn't see that final twist, LOVED this book!
I am a huge fan of Lynn’s writing and eagerly anticipate each new release. This one was as awesome as the previous books in the HOT series. Instead of terrorists, this story is set against the backdrop of the opioid addiction that too many families are affected by today and the drug smugglers, and corrupt people who help bring them into the US. Haylee recently lost her best friend/roommate from a fatal does of street OxyCotin laced with fentynol. Haylee is on a mission to expose this problem.
Dean ‘Wolf’ rescues Haylee while on a mission to rescue missionary dentists/dental assistants from a cartel camp in Guatemala. Haylee has been captured by the same cartel and held with the missionaries. From the first time Wolf sees Haylee, she’s kicking a cartel member trying to assault her in the balls, he knows she’s different. On the way to the extraction point, Haylee and Wolf bond and develop any easy comfort with each other. An epic pool game and the payout of some bets betweeen Haylee and Wolf at the base in El Salvador propells the story and their relationship along. Not wanting to give away too much of the story, so I will just say that these two min characters crave time together, are human and have fears to overcome before the HEA, but the ride is so much fun.
One of my favorite elements of the HOT books is reading how they come to realize they have fallen for their lady! Wolf is adamant with the guys that he isn’t falling for Haylee - oh the harder they resist and deny, the harder and faster they fall! I love how Wolf describes love as the stealthiest operator ever.
For me, Lynn Rae Harris books are a ‘no thinking necessary 1-click purchase’ doesn’t matter what the blurb says because I know it’s going to be a fun and sexy read with action, hot aloha males finding out a sassy lady has claimed their heart. I was given an ARC to read and voluntarily am writing a review. I can’t wait for the next book to see what Lynn has in store for the next HOT operator.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, suspense, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Hot Pursuit (Hostile Operations Team, #1) Hot Mess (Hostile Operations Team, #2) Hot Package (Hostile Operations Team, #3) Dangerously Hot (Hostile Operations Team, #4) Hot Shot (Hostile Operations Team, #5) Hot Rebel (Hostile Operations Team, #6) Hot Ice (Hostile Operations Team, #7) Hot and Bothered (Hostile Operations Team, #8) Hot Protector (Hostile Operations Team #9) HOT Addiction (Hostile Operations Team, #10) Hot Valor (Hostile Operations Team, #11) Hot SEAL (HOT SEAL Team #1) Hot SEAL Lover (HOT SEAL Team #2) HOT SEAL Rescue (HOT SEAL Team #3) HOT SEAL Bride (HOT SEAL Team #4) HOT Angel (Hostile Operations Team #12) HOT SEAL Redemption (HOT SEAL Team #5) HOT SEAL Target (HOT SEAL Team #6) Hot Secrets (Hostile Operations Team #13)
This is Haylee and Dean "Wolf" Garner’s story. Haylee was on a mission and was captured. Dean was sent in to rescue her. They have one perfect night before he leaves her. Now even back home she can’t stop thinking about him. After continuing with more of her investigation she uncovers things that make her sure she needs help. She turns to the one man she can trust. Wolf does not mind helping out be he is sure that he can handle anything that comes at them. But is he correct? He is starting to fall for Haylee is it just in time for someone to take her away from him?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
I've yet to meet a book by Lynn that I don't absolutely love, and HOT Justice is no exception! Dean and his team are in Guatemala to rescue ten Americans there on a mission, but when they get to the rescue site there find eleven Americans being held. The eleventh hostage is a beautiful, dark-haired woman named Haylee Jamison, and when Dean saves her from being attached by a captor, she instantly places her trust in him.
The hostages are taken to El Salvador before going home, and neither Dean or Haylee can deny the attraction between them. What starts as a friendly game of pool ends in a night of passion neither of them have experienced before, and it rattles Dean. When they both make it back to US soil, they go their separate ways, much to Haylee's disappointment.
A couple of months pass and they cross paths again. When Dean realises that Haylee is continuing on with the story that had her in Guatemala in the first place - fake drugs being trafficked into the US, some of which killed her best friend - and that certain high level politicians and businessmen could be involved, he fears for her safety.
When those fears are realised, Dean finds himself willing to do whatever he has to in order to keep the woman he can't get off his mind safe. But his job is dangerous and not a lot of women can cope with the constant worry and uncertainty... so Haylee must decide whether she loves Dean enough to take a chance on a relationship with him, and Dean must decide if he loves her enough to fight for her. Another gripping installment in an incredible series.
Dean “Wolf” Garner is the epitome of a respectful Midwestern man and that is only on reason why this book may be among my favorites in this awesome series (which I think I MAY say every time I burn-read through another of Lynn Raye Harris HOT page-turners). #FanGirl
Hailey’s quest for the truth about illegal drugs has placed her smack in the middle of a terrible situation, but she is feisty from the moment Wolf finds himself about to witness something horrible happen to her. But their immediate connection was both sizzling and stressful - often the worst recipe for the start of any relationship - even if they connect on a deeper level immediately. So they loved in the moment and said goodbye.
Once “home” Hailey continues to “dig” and as she’s getting closer to what she hopes is the truth, Dean is there once again to protect her. Their passion is palpable but a covert-operator and a reporter who’s neck-deep in middle of a story she can’t let go even if it puts her in danger may be the worst reason to cultivate a relationship, so he swallows his lust and let’s her walk away.
In true HOT fashion, Dean steps up to the plate when she is in real danger and how can Hailey help herself when he’s gorgeous and kind and sweet and everything truck-driving Iowa boys are?! #Swoon
The twist in this one threw me for a loop and was not what I was expecting AT ALL and then all I could do was hold on for the exciting race to the end - which again left me on the hook for what is next for Mendez’s stable of HOTties.
Hot is definitely a great word to describe this book. It’s fast paced, super hot and all-around fantastic from start to finish. This is the first book in the series that I’ve read but I’m definitely adding the others to my TBR!
Wolf is part of an elite military group that happens to be on a mission to rescue a group of Americans who have been captured and are being held hostage in Guatemala. Haylee is a reporter who was swept up and is being held hostage with the group Wolf’s team has been set to rescue. Immediately upon entering the camp Wolf notices Haylee being attacked by one of the drug cartel members and saves her. From there the two are pretty inseparable. They learn they’re from the same town and after sleeping together Haylee expects Wolf to reach out when they get back to the states. Only he doesn’t and she’s written him off. Haylee’s mission in life is to report the truth of what is going on within the drug cartel that killed her best friend. Months after her rescue she is finally getting a chance to have a face-to-face with a source only to run into Wolf again.
I just love military romances, they’re on of my favorite romance sub-genres and this one is of my favorites in a long while. Wolf is alpha protective without being an ass and Haylee is fierce and doesn’t just roll-over when Wolf comes back into her life after not contacting her for months. I loved the fast pace plotline and getting to meet the other members of Wolf’s team – I’m definitely looking forward to reading more about them in other books.

First off, I would like it to be known that this book is a solid 5 on scorch criteria, my gosh, Lynn Raye Harris created heat beautifully! Secondly, I will admit that I not a huge fan of 3rd person narratives, but again this book was done with class and did not make me feel as if I was missing out from the story line.
Now let’s get to the good stuff…
I LOVED THIS PLOT! I have not read the others in the series, but that was not a big deal as this is legit a standalone but does include characters from the past books.
Boy meets girl in the jungle and saves her from an unpleasant man. Girl thinks boy is SUPER HOT and valiant has crazy chemistry. Once they are safe, boy and girl act on chemistry.
Typical story right? WRONG! This was so full of twists and turns. I loved how Haylee was a breath of fresh air. She is a journalist and vowed to figure out exactly what happened to her friend that overdosed and somehow fines herself in freaking Guatemala following her trail. She gets abducted and then rescued by Wolf”s team because she was lumped in together with another group which was originally who they were rescuing.
I loved the intricate story being weaved with massive bad guy players and the sexy heros that go after them. All in all, I give this book a 4.5 and am looking forward to going back and reading the others and the ones to come to. Definitely looking forward to Mal’s story after that epilogue!
PS: I received this book as an ARC in return of my honest feedback.
This is the 14th book of the series. However, you will understand more if you’ve read earlier books of this series. Once again we have met our hero in other books in the series. You also have some interaction with some of the others from the other books in the series.
If you want to read what the book is about, read above the reviews.
Our hero has gone in for a mission along with everyone else. However, he meets up with our heroine just in time to save her from being raped. Along the way, they find themselves drawn to each other.
Our heroine is trying to find out who is responsible for her best friend’s death from drugs. However, being kidnapped and almost raped isn’t something she planned on. Neither was finding and connecting to one of her rescuers. After having one night with our hero, she gets returned home and sets off to find out more, from the US soil, about what happened to her friend. Along the way she reconnects with our hero again.
The plot is a bit out there, but tackles the hard topic of drugs in the US which is a hot topic at the moment. However, the author skirts most of the heavy topic with things happening to our hero and heroine. The heroine did get on my nerves because no one can be that innocent and yet supposed to have a career in writing. Our hero is easy to connect to.
I can’t wait to see what the next book in the series will bring us as I’m getting attached to the others who don’t currently have a partner.
Dean "Wolf" Garner is on Echo team of the HOT squadron. He's gorgeous, confident and footloose and fancy free. As a special operative he doesn't feel comfortable engaging in long term relationships. But on a mission to rescue a group of American captives from their kidnappers, they find an extra abductee. A beautiful American woman reporter caught up in the kidnapping. Wolf is drawn to Haylee. But he still has doubts about a real relationship. So does Haylee, for different reasons. Caught up in chasing the people running a drug cartel from Mexico, Haylee understands the horrible effects the Opioid crisis is having on Americans from all walks of life. She's determined to write an article that will expose the Cartel. The intrigue and excitement of this adventure is well reasoned yet fascinating. The burgeoning attraction between Wolf and Haylee develops quickly but realistically. They are physically drawn to each other that makes sense and sexy scenes. Wolf is a good hearted, well mannered and truly conscientious man. All the things Haylee's mom tells her doesn't exist in a man. This well written book follows a trail of mystery, counter intelligence and a masterful plot twist while creating a loving, connected couple we truly enjoy. Love this series, Love this book.
HOT Justice is the story of two people coming together not just in a shared passion, but also in a shared mission. That mission leads them both into danger, but together and with the help of the HOT team they are able to bring the bad guys down and give one another a semblance of solace. I loved watching Haylee and Wolf sparring together and playing together, because the sparks certainly flew, whether they were fighting or loving, and that passion will definitely last for a long, long time. Haylee was a great character with just enough sassiness that she was able to stand up to Wolf’s stubbornness but enough compassion and love that she was able to give him the love and compassion he needed as well. Wolf went into his interactions with Haylee again and again with assumptions and each time she proved him wrong he feel deeper under her spell. He was a great guy to watch in action and to see him falling in love, even if he didn’t realize it for a while, was fun and cute. Their story was filled with passion and there was just enough drama to keep everything interesting, but the focus was definitely on them. I cannot wait for Mal’s story because seeing him fall under the tires of the love bus will be beyond awesome. Lynn you continue to astonish me, but I guarantee as long as you keep writing I will keep reading and sharing my love of your work with the world.
This is a very powerful story! It brings to light the ugly world of prescription drug addiction and its victims.
I love how passionate Haley is about finding those responsible for her friend’s death. This story brings into focus just how innocent people can become dependent on the medications prescribed to them by their own doctors for relief of pain after an injury, accident or even illness. The desperate search for pain relief knows no social barriers.
Dean’s love, total commitment and sense of responsibility for his family is deeply felt when he reveals that his sister has similar struggles with drug addiction. This story reaches down deep into your emotions and makes you feel the despair family members experience with this type of issue.
Timing is everything but between these two, deep in the jungles of Mexico, Dean is her hero, literally, he saves her. I especially love the instant attraction between Dean and Haley when they both feel it with just a look during a very dangerous and critical time, it was out of their control.
A book this good is automatically a fast read for me and staying true to this fabulous series, this story is HOT! I loved every page!
Another flaming HOT HOT Hawttt military romance filled with intrigue and substance to make this another truly awesome addition to this author’s repertoire. Hot Justice is Wolf and Haylee’s turn at romance and boy did they take it up a notch.
What I Loved: Told from dual perspectives: it helped to get me into the right frame right from the start. You could feel the angst from both Wolf and Haylee at their first encounter. The poetry between the two is apparent yet not predictable. I kept thinking Haylee was going to end up in the same fate as her friend Nicole. Setting and technical lingo: this is a big plus in this book. The author doesn’t just throw out military jargon. No, she helps the reader understand from the get go. One can’t help to feel like you were on a HOT mission too. Conflict: This author never disappoints in making the hardships these military men go through to be all too real. This book takes on the effects of the opioid epidemic affecting today’s society head on.
What I didn’t love: That I know have to wait for Mal’s story. Helloooo what kind of intro was that?! Loved it secretly, le sigh!
The HOT series is one of my all time favourite series, and Lynn Raye Harris is a go to author for me. Hot Justice just reminds me why I eagerly await every new book and devour them in a couple of days! HOT Justice is Haylee and Wolf's (aka Dean) story. They meet under extreme circumstance when Wolf and the team head to the jungle to save hostages being held by a drug cartel. Haylee is one of the hostages and she and Wolf hit it off straight away with some amazing, steamy, chemistry. Back in the US, the pair go their separate ways, but Haylee continues to try to get evidence on the cartel responsible for her friends death, which was why she was in the jungle in the first place. This brings Wolf back into her life and their adventure begins!!
I love Haylee and Wolf's story. They have fantastic chemistry, amazing heat and an instant connection that Lynn Raye Harris makes me as a reader feel through every page. HOT Justice is action packed and full of suspense from the start and I found it a real page turner. Fans of the series will not be disappointed, and new readers will be scrambling to download all the previous books.. Next up is Mal's story and I cannot wait!!
Dean "Wolf" Garner, ohmygoodness. He can rescue me from any situation, any time. He meets Haylee in a jungle, where he rescues her from some fairly horrible men. They spend some time in the jungle together and then on base after they are safe. Wolf knows he's attracted to her and Haylee recognizes that she's attracted to him. But, life comes between the two of them. Until.... their paths cross again and Haylee is in desperate need of help. She's found herself in a situation and could use someone to protect her. Good thing Wolf has protective instincts directed specifically to Haylee.
I love this series! I've been reading the HOT Boys and their amazing ladies since the second book was released. Wolf has slowly creeped his way up into my Top 5, which is hard to do. Harris has an amazing way of creating characters that you are bought into and couples that you can't help but cheer for. Oh and putting them in almost impossible situations. Then making them fight their way out of that situation. Y'all the STEAM and sheer attraction between these two characters was amazing. I always love an Alpha male who has to grapple with his feelings a bit and Wolf fits that bill like no other.
My favorite part about the HOT series is the "team" aspect of it. You see those characters who are already in married + the other guys who aren't. They all have different levels of advice to give our hero and I think those moments are adorable. Can't wait until the next story comes out.
Hot Justice by Raye Harris Lynn “Unexplainable attraction, 4 stars”
Wolf and Haylee met in the worst kind of place. She was a hostage and he was the savior. There was no hero worship between the two just unexplainable chemistry. But Wolf’s life is full of chaos and uncertainty so once back on American soil he walks away. Until he runs into her again. Will he be able to keep Haylee out of harm’s way once again? There is no denying that Haylee and Wolf belonged together. The way they drifted towards each other was page turning. I liked how they never tried to change the other and were just there supporting in whatever way they could. The little we got of the secondary characters was good too. As someone who avoids military style books for the most part, I really enjoyed Hot Justice and can’t wait to see what Lynn does for the next book. And on top of that she’s a new to me author so I can now go back and read all the other stories before Hot Justice while waiting for the next if I so choose, and who doesn’t love that? Plot-4/5 Characters-4/5 Heat-4/5 Writing style-4/5 Overall-4/5
Hot Justice by Lyn Raye Harris gives the reader all the romance and all the action while taking on the timely issue of opioid addiction. Both sides of this problem, the legal and the illegal, is brought to light in this novel. The characters, Dean aka Wolf and Haylee have been affected by this. How they meet is unique but it works for them, fitting in with their careers and the fast-moving plot. There is instant attraction but then they find that time is precious and that there are no guarantees in life. Another issue that is highlighted is the nature of Wolf’s career on his personal life. It certainly takes a special person and family to embrace the demands that being part of this team would have. Action-packed, check, sizzling romance, check and with realistic issues and struggles, double check. Fantastic stand-alone addition to the series. The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
"In truth, I could lay down beside you and sleep all night so long as we didn't kiss. I could do that and be happy. Swear to God."
Be still my heart! I'd scratch Haylee's eyes out, if I thought I had a chance with Wolf, but it's a lost cause from the minute they lay eyes on each other. *Swoon* I love their chemistry, and the story is top-notch, as always. I love getting glimpses of other HOT characters here and there as well, and seeing how Echo Squad fits into the larger World of HOT. It's amazing to see a whole world come to life like this.
Speaking of which, it was so much fun to see Haylee interacting with the guys, (not to give anything away, mind you,) and have them play their parts in the story, too:
"Dude, love is the stealthiest operator of all. Sneaks up and then slams you in the gut with the force of a rocket engine hurtling into space. You can't escape it."
Ah, but who would want to, Saint? I'll willingly participate in my own takedown, especially if it involves Malcolm, "Mal" McCoy. Oh, my poor heart can't take it, Lynn! What you do to me...
Haylee was pretty close to fearless. She lost her best friend and roommate, and she let nothing, including danger, keep her from finding justice. Wolf found her in the middle of that danger when his team was deployed for a rescue. The two had an immediate connection but not much time to explore it. They go their seperate ways, and plans for their future don't turn out as expected, but fate throws these two back together. The people responsible for Haylee's loss need to pay, and it's possible her goals and those of Wolf's team may coincide.
As always in this series, the chemistry topped the charts, the military action was believable, and the characters were easy to like and connect with. One of my favorite parts of this series is catching up with favorite characters from past books. Ghost has always been a favorite of mine. Any book with him in it makes me happy. From the epilogue, it appears Mal will get the next book. I'm definitely looking forward to that.
