A war is raging!! Will Gwen survive?

This is such a great series!! This book has many twists and turns that have kept me reading each chance I get. Queen Gwen has bitten of more than she can chew with the events leading up to war. She has so much going on it has me wondering when the stress is going to get to her. I’m also wondering how is she ever gonna her out of the turmoil coming her way and the aftermath of committing Jakob to prison for life. I definitely recommend this religious twist to all ages and can’t wait to read book three!

After writing The Hidden Queen, I knew the story was going to take a bit of a different turn. Mainly, there were other characters who wanted a say in the book. Esther had things to say, Charles had things to say... even Jakob. But I told him he had to wait for the third book. He seemed okay with that.

The Coming Light is darker than The Hidden Queen, but I feel that it allowed for the light to shine brighter. The characters wrestle with God's goodness, with their own darkness, and with the coming violence from Devin. But I think the wrestling is just as important as the destination, right? And when all is said and done, the promise of hope, when darkness gives way to the light, puts things in perspective.

I hope you enjoy Volume II of the Rodasia Chronicles. Readers should be aware this book has more violence than the Hidden Queen. War is never pretty.

Action, intrigue, conspiracies, secrets, hints of romance, the story has a mix of things going on. I enjoyed the hints of Biblical narrative running through the story line. Once I started, I couldn't wait to finish.

I enjoyed this continuation of Gwen and Rodasia's stories! Gwen is really growing into her role as queen, though she has a host of new and continuing troubles to face. I enjoyed getting to know some of the side characters more and am curious to read "The Shade War" soon.

This book had me on the edge of me seat again and again. I love all the characters, and the stakes just kept going up and up. Absolutely love it.

Wow. This follow up to the hidden queen was certainly engaging. There is a trigger warning at the beginning for violence, but I didn't feel like it was over the top at all. Realistic, but not overdone. We get to stick with the main characters from the previous story, with the addition of Esther's character, who takes a larger role, and Jakob, too. The hidden queen was only told from Gwen's side of the story, but this book expands and takes you into Lacy, Charles, and Esther's heads.

I don't want to give any spoilers, but man... there were so many twists and turns that were unexpected and thrilling. The plot stays strong, though. So glad the third book is out! Can't wait to dig in.

An excellent follow up to the first book. It’s a bit more violent (a coming war after all) And expands on the world, dives deeper into the characters, and creates a political and religious climate that is very fresh and unique

So, I enjoyed this book more than the first.
The side characters continue to make me laugh and are honestly, my favorites.
This book contains good and thoughtful dialogue that caused me to pause and reflect.
Looking forward to the next book. This one was too short!
