These are definitely a different set of characters from what Cami normally writes. It was the heroine who was the protective warrior who thought she was irredeemable (even though we all told her she wasn't), and the hero who was under protection (not that he let that stop him from trying to protect). I couldn't help but feel bad for Jasmine after the life she had to live, which she felt guilty for. But Kaleb got a bit more of my sympathy because the poor soul gets teased by his brothers about writing poetry, treated like a damsel in distress by literally everyone, and gets beat up by the heroine if he gets too close. I also felt bad for his oldest brother, who was trying to protect his brother and the closest he has to a best friend from the world and each other. Whether or not he succeeded at one or both fronts, though, you'll have to read to find out...

The overall story was great, but the previous story on her sister Bree is from another series by this same author so unless you read that story you are lost on that story line, as well as the stories on the brother's. It is also in the previous books where Jaz and Kaleb meet so you lose alot of the back story by not reading the previous series. This book starts after they meet and kinda rough thinking the instant love part just happened but its all in the previous series. As I said this story was good, interesting and very few editing errors which I appreciate. The problem I had and the reason for the 2 star rating is the author's over use of "not being worthy" its used over and over and over. Both by Jaz and by Griff and by Kaleb. It got old fast. The Amazon writeup didn't market this as a Christian romance. There is alot of "Jesus loves you and prayers to God" in it. It would have been nice to know ahead of time. I'm not against this type of book but I was caught off guard. This series has nothing to do with the Sutton Capital series by Lori Ryan, so its a bit deceiving ....it took me forever to chase down the previous books so I could figure out how and why they met, I looked in all the Sutton Capital series books and was lost again. You have to read the Texas Titan series.....ugggg

This story has lots and lots of kisses! I really enjoy the suspense and mystery of this story. The female character is strong and the romance is sweet and clean.

The Conflicted Warrior: Sutton’s Security Romance: Quinn Family Romance Book 2 is by Cami Checketts. The Quinn family is a large but close-knit family. There are five boys and one girl in the family: Ryder, Griff, Colton, Kaleb and Michael with sister Navy. This book is about Kaleb. The family was not wealthy when they grew up; but the boys made their ways in the world and were doing well for themselves. Kaleb was a well-known singer and songwriter who had become a billionaire with his music. It seemed he had everything; but love.
Jasmine Peters and her sister Bree were abandoned when they were small. Jasmine was adopted into a criminal family and brought up to lie, steal, and do whatever she could to make a living. At eighteen, she left the family but ended up on the streets with other criminals and continued her criminal life. She was caught by Griff Quinn and his boss Sutton who owned a security business. They took Jasmine under their wings and turned her to working for the law. She went undercover a lot and busted narcotics rings, trafficking rings, and burglary rings. She felt she was still bad through and through and could not be forgiven for her past offenses. She was finally reunited with her sister just as she was getting ready to marry Ryder Quinn. It was at her wedding that she met Kaleb Quinn. She had listened to and loved his music before ever meeting him. When they met, there was an immediate attraction that she chose to ignore. Not so with Kaleb.
As Kaleb went on with his concert tour, he began to tire of it. He kept having headaches which required medication before and after each show. At this show, he sang a song he had written for his nephew, Tate. The audience actually was quiet. At the end of the song, women began yelling, “Marry me”. He was tired of having women throw themselves at him so he said he was engaged. When pressed for a name, he said, “Jasmine.” He never intended it to get on the internet and go viral; but it did. That night, he received a threatening phone call asking for money or his family would be harmed. The caller also said Kaleb and Jasmine would have to get married before the next night. Kaleb’s first phone call was to Griff. Griff and Sutton came to him with a solution. Kaleb would marry Jasmine. She would stay with Kaleb to protect him and they would catch the perpetrators when they came to pick up the money. They would then get an annulment. It seems like a workable plan and Kaleb agreed but, will Jasmine? Will it work?

The Conflicted Warrior: Sutton's Security Romances (Quinn Family #2) by Cami Checketts .
I had not read the first book in this series, but this is a stand alone book and the story line is simple enough to follow. The 2 main characters already have a history at the beginning of this book, so the leap to a fake engagement and a hastily arranged wedding ceremony is not as far fetched as it sounds. There was a lot of angst and repetition of "I am not good enough" and "she is so beautiful and innocent looking"that had me annoyed as the story progressed. I get it already, it was mentioned at least once in every chapter. Kaleb is the sensitive, feels strong emotions and acts on those emotions, singer song writer billionaire who hates crowds but still performs concerts.
Jasmine is a "security specialist" who is emotionally closed off because of her dark past and is angry with the world and keeps people at a distance by being prickly. They have fallen in love with each other off page in previous books and in this book things escalate because of a security threat against Kaleb. Jasmine saves the day, eliminates the bad guys and because of blah blah "I am not good enough" leaves him, both are miserable for a couple of months, brother takes matters to hand and reunites the couple, lots of I love you, Happy Ever After. The end.
I was disappointed, I expected a more complex story. For me it was meh, an OK read, I just did not feel connected to either main character. 2 stars.

Not my favorite Checketts book. The drama was too much for me. And the repetition was too much for me as well. I really couldn't figure out why Kaleb was so attracted to Jasmine to be so insistent. She tossed him down both figuratively and literally time and time again and yet he still doggedly pursued her. Perhaps it is more believable that she had feelings for him since his music spoke to her soul long before they met but I couldn't believe that he kept going back for more punishment and rejection when he didn't really know her at all. There needed to be more interaction between them before I could believe that he really loved her. Attraction is one thing but I couldn't see more than that. In short, the insta-love didn't work for me.
This is Christian lit and the theme of "I'm not worthy" vs "God loves you" comes up on repeat.
I listened to the Audio version of this book and the 1st Quinn family as well but I just don't think I'm going to continue on with this series. The narrator did a good job overall. His voice got really dramatic to match the action in the book.

Disappointing.
I've read this author before and loved her writing, but this book wasn't her best. It was extremely repetitive.
If I was told another time how undeserving the heroine thought she was because of her past mistakes I might've burned the book (if I wasn't reading it on my Kindle). (The heroine was completely unlikeable too, and that didn't help.)
Also, the whole 'love at first sight' thing was a bit too much. I don't mind a love story that develops in days or weeks, but the couple has to get to know each other by talking or something... otherwise it's lust at first sight regardless of how much "telling" the author does to convince us it is more than physical attraction.
The author's writing style is good and I would read her books again, but I can't recommend this book in good conscience.

Ok
I really wanted to like this book. It had a good plot but that's about all I can say for it. I kept reading, thinking it would get more cohesive in the storytelling but its seemed to get worse as the story went on. Too quick in love, too many unexplained connections (or rather, disconnections) - so much just didn't make sense or seem feasible to contribute to a story well told. Maybe I. Not making much sense here, but I'm trying to explain that this story had a back story that was VERY slightly referred to and a better connection to that story would probably made this a better one. However, it was such a "disjointed" delivery that it has turned me off from even attempting the next book by this author. Seldom to I diss a book but this one only gets 3 stars because it did actually have a promising plot.

What a wonderful story of forgiveness and redemption! I was SO intrigued by Jasmine in The Devoted Groom - a book I loved IMMENSELY - that I had to immediately get on Amazon so I could download The Conflicted Warrior and read it! As much as I truly enjoyed The Devoted Groom (I’m not a fan of football, but I’m a HUGE fan of the Texas Titan Romances!), and I totally fell for all the characters-well, not the BAD GUYS ;-), but I liked Conflicted Warrior even better. I’m a complete sucker when you add in the BEST LOVE STORY EVER. A heart that accepts the love of their Savior and is then able to love and accept the love of others. Beautiful! Thanks for another wonderful story. I’m looking forward to the adventure of the next Quinn brother falling in love!

Lots of intense action along with love and redemption. Jasmine is powerfully strong and beautiful. She doesn't feel beautiful inside though. Because of the life she has lead, she is afraid to love. Kaleb, the country singing sensation, has a pure heart and a determination strong enough to deal with Jasmine's repeated rejections. I liked his tenacity even though it often seemed over the top. I loved watching Jasmine work through her many-faceted emotions. The Quinn Family is becoming dear to my heart. I love watching the family members interact and can't wait to read Mack and Griff's stories soon!!!!

Rating 2.5. In my last review for another book (by Jennifer Peel btw), I wrote something to the effect that I was getting tired of the broken, abused, abandoned, parentless girl who someone has to bend over backwards to love. Well, well. If this isn’t that same situation but on steroids. I had trouble seeing Kaleb’s strong love. Attraction, maybe but not love. Also, her behavior was abusive, really, when you come right down to it and he just kissed her and took it. A bit creepy, really.
Cami Checketts writes interesting and engaging stories although the plot and characters can sometimes (such as now) be over the top.

The Conflicted Warrior
Kaleb loved Jasmine and she was a force he never realized what she did. Griff,Kaleb's brother worked for the same security company that Jasmine worked for. This is a story of love and intrigue and the fact that someone was trying to kill a member of the Quinn family just to get to Jasmine. A sting was set up and Jasmine managed to get Mack,Kaleb's younger brother had been kidnapped and Jasmine was used as bate to catch the bad guys. This was a great Free read. Another one from Cami Checkers. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill

Enjoyed
This was a great romance with some mystery added to the mix. Jasmine believes that Kaleb is good for her. The more she protests the harder he seems to fall. The twists, turns and surprises keep the pages turning. The Quinn family, along with Sutton are the characters that make this story interesting and entertaining. The conflict between Jasmine and Kaleb along with the tense moments of the threats keeps the readers interest from the beginning to the very end. Luckily they find a happy ending.

He was so devoted to her. After learning more about psychology, I'm pretty sure that he had an anxious attachment style and she had an avoidant attachment style. He pursures and she leaves but feels loved because he keeps coming back. I kept wondering when the cycle would end.
The story drew me in, and I kept finding myself routing for the couple. I just wonder how their relationship turned out in the long run. I most wish that there was a sequel to this book.
I also love the interracial couple.

She Can't Say No
This second book in the series is about Kaleb and Jasmine. Being A famous country singer has its ups and downs and sometimes stalkers. Jasmine has a sordid background and does not feel worthy of someone like Kaleb Quinn. This book is packed with self-assessment, forgiveness, past failures and lifestyles, fighting, harmful plotting, and love. I received a complimentary copy of this book and have chosen on my own to write an honest review.

This is a Fast-paced, short clean romance. It is Jasmine, Bree's sister from the first book and Kaleb Quinn, the country singer, Ryder's brother. When Jasmine meets Kaleb at Bree's wedding she is enamored and she had already loved his music. But Jasmine has very thick walls around her heart and even if Kaleb shows her love and patience she will not put him in danger or tarnishes his light with her dark. But events push them to get married,,, and suddenly proximity and fate interfere.

I’m still not sure how I feel about this book. Jasmine is a very interesting character but is so riddled with guilt about her past that it is hard to determine what she is truly about. Kaleb has become obsessed with his feelings for Jasmine that he doesn’t really seem to care about what she wants. It is an interesting story with lots of emotions and drama. Despite the seeming character deficiencies, it is still an enjoyable read.

Kaleb and Jasmine
Another fun book by Cami Checketts! Kaleb is wonderful and such a dream. And Jasmine is everything I want in a leading female character. It’s intriguing to read about people overcoming their past and becoming better people. I love a happily ever after ending, especially when it’s not an ordinary ending.

This book was just like a roller coaster ride ! A lot of twist and turns and when it's all done you just want to hop back on and take the ride all over again. So far this is my favorite book of this series. The action and suspense mixed with the romance just perfect. I look forward to seeing what Cami does with some of the other characters in this series. Warning! Once you start reading this one it will be very hard to put down.

When Kable meets Jasmine
Jasmine is physically beautiful and physically strong, trained to take down anyone that is a threat to whoever she is assigned to guard. She has no time or inclination for romance, but Kable has other ideas. Enough tension and romance to keep the reader awake all night. Very good!

Romance and mystery and intrigue . this book has everything
The characters are so well-fleshed out in this novel that you begin to feel like you know them.....or at least wished you did. Kidnapping, bombs, and murder plus romance. The wholesome love of a family for each other brings it together in a delightful way

This is a continuation of the first book and should be read in order. Jasmine is wild and puts herself in dangerous situations. She is totally enthralled with Caleb, but know they can never have a relationship because of her past and she could never be good enough for him.
I really enjoyed this book now on to books three!

While it says that you can read it as a standalone, I would not recommend it.
I thought about giving the story 3 Stars as the constant 'not worthy' drove me insane. I thought that the story was fun and l mostly liked the main characters but the angst and self-doubt were overwhelming.
This is a clean Christian romance.

A love/hate romance.. I'm just shocked how quickly this country superstar falls in love with Jasmine, (Bree's younger sister from book 1).
Jasmine has a troubled past.. being adopted and now working security. She can protect herself and is tough as nails. She doesn't want his love... cute book.

Eh, was ok. could have done so much more with such a complicated character as Jasmine. Also, I hated how many times the author was trying to justify how manly Kaleb was just because he showed his feelings. It's ok for men to show their feelings!
I don't think I will continue on with this series. It just really isn't for me.
The narrator did a good job though.

Outstanding
Tough love sweet romance that will keep you reading straight to the end. Two people you couldn't be more different find themselves in a fake marriage to protect their families.

Not Bad
I think there were a lot of repetitive phases in this book. But the story it self was not to bad a read. I won't call him a "wimp". But he definitely not a alpha male by any means. He didn't have to be, but he was just a tad too soft.

Typical romance theme. Predictable ending. Good characters. Too much author input and not enough action. Suspense was lacking. No twists. Was clean from sex and foul language.
