In the conclusion of the Blackwood Duet, Jagger Thorne rules his pack with an iron fist, doling out punishments that go beyond the limits of appropriate standards. He is hellbent on fulfilling his father's twisted legacy and will stop at nothing to capture Isabella Greyson. Making her his mate and ending her legacy drives him over the edge.
The last of the Blackwood warriors and mate to Jaxon Daniels, the alpha of the Dark Sky pack, Isabella Greyson enlists the help of the Council to take down the Red Moon pack. With the assistance of some unlikely allies, Isabella and Jaxon take a page from history to achieve justice.
I liked it , albeit a little less than I expected to like it. The plot , in itself was good. But there were a lot of unnecessary parts to the book. It was also a tad bit predictable. This was a hugeee step up from book 1 .
Jagger, whose dad killed almost all Blackwoods, is hell bent on getting Isabella. He also has a mole in the Elder Community. Jaxon , Isabella and the other elders hatch a plan to capture Jagger to kill him and the plan is executed smoothly (There wasn't even one mistake or one unexpected turn of events during the execution of the plan).
A lot of people find their mates, none of the good guys die or are harmed, the bad guys are killed , and some are given a chance to repent or start over. Younger me would have loved this book if it were not for some parts

DNF 37% I was tired of the characters and childish dialogue and dynamics at about 60% in the first book. I made the mistake of trying to read this second one solely to figure out how the plot turned out since the last book was kind of a cliffhanger. Like I said, a mistake. It just got harder and harder to read through the overly cutesy and unrealistic interactions by all characters. There was barely any plot. Everything that did happen with the plot was just not really realistic or believable. I found myself only reading the first sentence of each paragraph and couldn’t handle it.
There are two thing boring as hell in a book: detailed plans for battle, and extended sex scenes. This book was blessed with both. Had I not committed to see this series to completion I would have put it down and forgotten it as they planned to attack Red Moon Pack. YAWN! I did not need or want graphic sex scenes. You can be young and in love without broadcasting the type of scenes this author thought were necessary. Water it down some to hold your readers attention. This is supposed to be a LOVE story not soft porn. The over use of the battle preparation and sex scenes cost you a star. The story-line and plot was decent.
Jagger was certain things would go the way Red Moon wanted it to go and he’d soon have Bella as his own. Evidently, he hadn’t counted on Jaxon not releasing his prize, especially since said prize was exactly where she wanted to be. With the council’s help, as busy as things have been for Dark Sky the last few weeks, things get even busier.
There isn’t much to say about the second portion of this duet read without saying everything. Thankfully, to my taste, nothing’s particularly overwritten or drawn out and loose threads are tied off. That said, though the wolves get a chance to flex the outing is light on paranormal aspects overall. Rating: 4.25stars
This was a good book, however I felt it was a bit bland. It drug on through both the first and second book. There was very little to keep you captivated. The main fight between Jaxon and jagger was mediocre. And we had to wait till the last 2 chapters for Isabella to get pregnant and get married. Which then meant the book was rushed. I'm just a bit sad that there wasn't more excitement and less back and forth. I will continue to read books by this author because her books are overall great! This just wasn't my personal favorite.
XXX! Adult content, reader discretion advised. So if you have ever played Mortal Combat then you know right before you kill your opponent the announcer says, "Finish it!". That's so the theme for this book. Bella and Jaxon finish a lot of business in this book. Mawson did an awesome job closing this story up. The best part, in my opinion, is that she didn't rush the ending. It flowed smoothly. And as every ending is a new beginning, this book really captured that concept. There are wolves, battles, blood, sex, celebrations and babies.
I enjoyed these two books. I love how the author truest completed the story instead of leaving you wondering or using the typical “happily ever after” cop out. I will admit at times this book had a few chapters that could have been omitted due to unnecessary details but even so it was great. It really kind of reflects life; you have your busy emotional full of actions times in life and then you have times that just calm and steady.
Well much like the first book there were unnecessary things that didnt need to be in the book. But unlike the first book definitely a faster pace which was good. I felt that one event in particular was slightly anticlimactic but the overall story was good. Still wont be my go to wolfie book or a fav but it was an ok read.
A very different take on Shifters .A beautiful heart warming story with bad times along the way . You will laugh and cry , not always happy tears, and that is what makes it a very good story, with a very nice ending making you wish you could have a love that strong , then comes the ballot tears .
What an awesome ending to Blackwood. This would have received 5 stars but there were just a few too many grammar errors. All in all it was wonderful how they tied up all the loose ends making sure to give each event the time and dedication it deserved. I hate how some books get through the big fight and then tie up everything in an epilogue. Not here.
Absolutely loved the story line. I am a little sad about how quickly the battle with Jagger went. It was to easy and far from any major drama event. I loved the HEA. The wedding and birth of the babies were beautifully written. I am still curious though what happened to the royals the Blackwoods are supposed to be protecting?
This book also needs some editing but overall I found it completely predictable and unimaginative. It drags on and on and things are explained over and over again. And then the scene changes and it gets explained again. Oh and they forgot to loop in so and so so it gets explained again.
I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters. I am glad that everything worked out for them and they got back at Red Moon Alpha for what he did to his pack. I was very happy for Bella and Jaxson . It was a quick ending with it was hoping a little more with them and there babies .
This is a must read two book series. A few grammar issues but nothing that takes away from a beautiful story, it will make you teary eyed, laugh, feel warm and goofy AND really want to beat A#$! Very good story line and its great from beginning to end!
This can in no way be construed as anything but a love story. The lead up to the takedown was much more exciting than the actual event. I loved the legend and tradition of the Blackwood Pack. Overall, A story that left me with a feel good heart.
I really enjoyed the first book and the first half of this book. However, I found the second half difficult to read. It was very slow and it felt like the two books could have been one, with the ending being less dragged out. I did enjoy the overall plot behind the books though.
This book was a good read. I loved Isabella and Jaxon. The only problem was there were a lot of grammatical errors. If you can get past all that, then this book is for you.
These books were extraordinary! So much detail, wonderful characters, engaging storyline. I honestly couldn't out either book down until I was done with it! Sunny, you are a gifted writer. I plan to read more by you.
There are no words to describe this book, but the best I could come up with is phenomenal! I didn't review the first one but waited til the end. This story blew me away. Just.....WOW!
I was excited to read this book after finishing the first one in the duet, but while I think it is an overall good story I feel it was poorly executed. The storyline felt repetitive at times. Both books could have been condensed into one better book
This book had a lot of action in the first half of the book and the second half was like an extended epilogue which I loved. The story was nicely wrapped up but I still hope to hear more about these characters.
Book 1 was amazing and I couldn't put it down,im not a fan of cliffhangers but thankfully bk2 was already out and waiting on me. It picks up jason and Isabella story. It has action and danger keeping you captivated and they have a wonderful he's. Must read!!!
This book gave more details about the shower routine than anything I have ever read! No excitement in this book it felt like I was reading diary entries rather than a story!
Compared to the first book, this one is awful! Juvenile writing and boring! There was such a build up with Jagger and his intentions with Isabella, and all the rouges he had gathered for a fight scene, and then nothing, nope, nada! I skimmed over most of the half......So disappointed.
I really loved these two books. They were much better tan expect and kept me interested the whole time, my only complaint is that the takedown of the enemy pack could have been more dramatic, otherwise it was great!
Blackwood book 1 & 2 are 1 of the best I've read so far. I hope theres a 3rd book would love to read more about blackwood pack and now about the babies all grown up. Keep up the excellent work !!!!
I actually found this book boring to be honest,I enjoyed the 1st book though. It was as rather lacklustre and had no excitement in it.It was obvious chad and carmen would be mates.Glad I finished after skipping a lot off it.
