Matt is part of the sheriff department of a small truck stop town, he growing restless and wants what his friend Jett (October Sky Book ) has.. a relationship. He’s thinking he needs to leave Zansaville to find someone to share his life with .
That is until he takes one look at
No- nonsense, closed-off, no-time-for-men Ruby .
Someone from Matt’s past is found dead, this leads to an investigation into his past.
This is the second book in a series and while it can be read alone, you will want to read the series and get to know these wonderful people in the town because ....“Sometimes we get to pick our family “
A wonderful read with such depth and insight into these characters.
A small town romance, with a little mystery, great characters and the message that the past does not define your future !

Matt and Ruby's story is filled with conflict and tragedies, strength and kindness, and finally love. Their attraction was obvious, but too many things kept them from acting on it...until the time was right. Ruby's son Hans won me over just like Matt and Ruby did. He's an amazing boy. (I won't go into detail so you can enjoy finding out on your own what I mean) I admired Matt's patience and Ruby's determination. Both are hard workers. Both have pasts they hadn't fully dealt with. Love forced everything out in the open; only then did they get their happily-ever-after.

Ruby Sky: A Small Town Minnesota Romantic Suspense Novel (Raven Ranch Mysteries)
By Katie Mettner

Deputy Matt Hermanni meets Ruby Sky during a murder investigation. He falls for her and her young son (Hans) instantly. Ruby is a single mother, she has secrets that are keeping her from opening (her heart) to Matt. He has a past he is trying to hide from as well. When the past meets the present will their love be strong enough to bond them forever ? How will the murders affect these loving people?

A fast paced original romantic suspense. I fell in love with Hans instantly. I liked Ruby just as much, and was very compassionate when learning of her rough past. Matt is equally likable, he deserves true happiness too. I wanted them to be a family. I was hooked from the first page until the last.

Katie Mettner knows how to add the perfect mix of suspense, mystery, secrets and love to create the a heartfelt memorable story. I highly recommend Ruby Sky: A Small Town Minnesota Romantic Suspense Novel to those who love a great romantic/suspense.

A Love Story and Mystery Story

I love the concept of the love story within a mystery although I could have predicted the way the love story would unfold and evolve. That part of the book was predictable and cheesy at times.

On the other hand, I was clueless as to who the murderer was and how that would be concluded.

All in all,it was an enjoyable read.

Good story

There was so much more romance in this book than suspense . I loved the first book in the series and enjoyed this one because of the story and the characters, especially Hans.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series. Just enough mystery and romance to keep you reading till late into the night. I just wish she would eliminate the sex scenes from the book. I really don’t enjoy reading those parts and page past them. But all and all the books are really good.
