My body had never been touched by a man. Then I was sold to seven of them.
The city was my only chance to survive, but I didn't make it an hour before I was caught. They stripped me, punished me, and then auctioned me off. Not to just one man, but to seven battle-hardened brutes hungry for a woman to claim and ravish in the most shameful ways imaginable.
But even as these rugged mercenaries set about mastering my virgin body and teaching me what it means to belong to them completely, they offer me something that I never thought I'd have...
Though they bought me for their use, I have become much more than just their property. They paid for me with money, but in my heart I know they would protect me even if it cost their lives.
Publisher's Note:Sold includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
Amazon Top 100, USA Today bestselling, and #1 bestselling author in multiple Amazon categories, Loki Renard writes sizzling hot, occasionally dark and twisted stories of dominance, submission and discipline.
I love this author so much, but this book -although it is her most popular one- I almost did not finish it. It had tons of sex and zero world building. And I did not even find the sex that interesting. It is dystopian and you could consider it reverse harem ().
This reverse harem story was HOT and had a very good twist to this genre. Trissa is a young woman who finds herself in a very difficult situation and she uses her sass and funny swear words to try and get herself out of it. The men who buy her are big brutish mercenaries that are willing to spank the attitude out of her. This new book by Loki was different from her previous books but I still loved it. The difference would reveal spoilers so I won't put those here. But I think it is writers growth more than anything.

The bare bones of a cool story that wasn't quite developed to become that spark of cool. I wish the author had chosen to develop the story more and go into detail of the world & characters. They were interesting and I would have enjoyed getting to know them better. I liked the completion of one of the little plot lines. Not really a lurid story full of sex as much a tale of change and growth.
This was a fantastic dark RH read. Set in a future where women are scarce and society is broken. Mercenaries and kings and a wild girl who won’t be tamed. I have to make mention of her cursing - it was so hilarious! I genuinely LOLd when she thought income tax was a curse word 😂😂
I must say I was pleasantly surprised by just how much I enjoyed this story, I mean how it seemed much more than an erotic reverse harem to me. It is that: plenty of huge muscular Alpha men (7) to 1 wild (as in untamed/uncivilized) young female & sizzling sex, but the author truly (IMO) makes a firm connection between Trissa (h) & the reader. Normally I do not care for snarky smart mouth heroines because it just seems so contrived, but Trissa's background & life before being 'captured' makes it very believable for her character to be just that. She's plucky, sassy, fiery, combative & truthfully hard headed & sometimes not at all realistic regarding her ability to retake her future into her own hands (especially toward the very end of the book). Considering there were 7 men, the author did an excellent job fleshing out their individual personalities & even though they 'purchased' Trissa the author managed to keep them very likable. Overall, except for some 'disciplinary spankings', all 7 were physically careful & even gentle with her knowing she was a virgin. There came a time, due to a potential bloodbath by a violent mob, where there was one somewhat dub con situation with Trissa & one of the 7 mercenaries, but even then it was because they were working to save all their lives & they attempted to soothe Trissa through the experience. I found myself genuinely intrigued & entertained by the story, there is violence, sorrow, loss, growth, enlightenment, suspense, sex & love. I cared about not only Trissa & her mercenaries but 2 secondary characters, Mattias & Elias who were the closest to kindness she had experienced in years after the death of her father. I had my fingers crossed for a HEA for Trissa & her men. My emotions as I read the book varied from frustration, anger, sadness, excitement & hope, I truly enjoyed the book & think many other readers will as well.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book made my heart feel so big and then RIPPED MY HEART OUT and then made it feel so big again! This was my first reverse harem and I loved it so much. Usually I find myself getting attached to the wrong guys in shows and books and whatever when there's a group of them, and end up with very little screen time with my faves. I was worried that would happen in a RH story, where everyone's getting gorgeous sex scenes except the one or two I am super crushing on. BUT NO. I fell for Tore and Mattias and they were huge parts of this story.
If your kink is exhibitionism and sharing you will love this book. My lil daddy kink loving heart loved the daddy bits with Mattias, and Tore being stern and deadpan and Viking and alpha AF, and also really cuddly and sweet too. Ugh. My heart.
I usually enjoy all Loki Renard's books aside from a random few that were a little too over the top for my taste but this one I just did not like at all...First off I was very confused through a good bit of the book with the way the character named her Mercinaries with Nick names but then every so often would use their real names it just kept throwing me off had me very confused. Second in the description it says she's sold off to 7 Mercs but in the book we start off with 8 not to mention this Daddy figure who's care she is in put in while being prepped to be auctioned off. She is attracted to daddy figure, the mercs, I'm counting off on my fingers thinking dang this girl is a horn dog LoL but anyways after she kills the Sherriff the guys try to calm the people by publicly humiliating her by deflowering her infront of all the people and then the next night the city is attacked and only 3 of her Mercs make it back to her Tore the 4th one that made it back dies in her arms and that really sucked for me it was sweet the way she wrote it with him saying to her he was her first and that it was worth it right before he dies but it was still very sad because she went from 8 Hardcore Mercs that were very sweet in their own way to just 3 all the others were killed keeping her safe and then she finds out she's pregnant by Tore the one who took her Virginity and she's determined to give her child a better life so in order to do that she wants her men to take back the city and when they refuse she decides she will go to the city they will follow and it will all work out. However when she gets to the city it wasn't in anyway what she was expecting and while she was digging through the newest kings trunks looking for money she gets nabbed by said king who turns out to be "Daddy" dearest the one she thought had died with her other men. He informs her he is now king and that she is now his and her and the other 3 Mercs stay with him and that's pretty much how it ended. I don't know why but this book was just too depressing for me I don't expect all my books to be bright shiny and rainbows and unicorns but dang to go from having 8 hot guys to 4 that's a lot of death for me
I love dark romance a lot! But one the main female character is literally a little girl mentally, ew! She was raised in the wilds of an post apocalyptic earth and was never taught sex or anything pertaining to a what being a woman is and what happens to our bodies as we get older through puberty, she has the mentality of a child! Which is extremely creepy when she was being raped a by these guys, like seriously you had the character calling the men parking tickets but the next minute was saying ‘f***ing a**hole’ like how about some consistency in this book?
A fun read that has a bit of everything. In a dystopian world, the USA has been divided into factions but somewhat different from what we have seen before. Women are rare and precious but use for reproduction which means many men will "breed" her while kept as sex slaves. Trissa is a free and feral young woman who has kept alive and unharmed and untouched by being clever. Her father taught her to stay away from men if she is to keep her freedom and to do anything necessary to never get caught. She learned the tricks her father taught her by dressing and making herself look like a man. But food is getting scarce and Trissa has to make a living.
The author takes us into a very ragged world where the law doesn't exist and whatever law is implemented, it is only to suit those who put it in place. Trissa makes it to the market where thousands of men go daily to exchange and sell their goods, but as she finds herself in the eye of many men there she gets captured.
Trissa and every character she comes across seems to have an agenda. While at times Trissa is flat out clueless other times she comes across as very smart. After she is captured, she is taken into the one place she knows will be impossible to escape from. But as Trissa is ready to meet her new owner, things start to unravel and Trissa finds herself in more trouble than she expected. Her escape will not come easy, if even possible. But while there, Trissa also experiences things she never thought possible. In a sweet and vulnerable way, Trissa is introduced to the sensations she never experienced before.
Mattia a slaved forced into servitude to the king, has no possessions nor the ability to be part of those who breed females. When he meets Trissa he can't deny the attraction all the while making sure she understands her new destiny. But that didn't mean Mattia couldn't enjoy his short time with Trissa.
The author takes us into a wild ride, the story is fun and very hot. With the introduction of Mattia & the group of assassins, the story starts to move quickly and a certain theme takes effect. While Mattia is a very sweet and loving every other character in the story is possessive, sex-starved, manipulative and bossy. Mattia becomes the balance that the story needs even after it all unravels.
if you are looking for a story with some action, ruthless assassins, and uncontrollable female character then you will be in for a treat with Sold.
UM.... I can't really get this straight but somehow I must say the story is good I think. Rate it for 3.8 stars for me.
I must say the story started off ... weird but in a good way. I like weird story TBH and this is definitely one of the weird plots you can overcome. So the storyline set in the future, where women are captured and sent to reproduce a better future. And as far as I get the idea is, only the rich and the people with power can reproduce that means... not all man can have sex.
Well... yes, our female MC is a virgin and with 7 alpha man who wants to Fk her at the same time <<< This was what I found attractive but always remember life doesn't go as we want it to.
Lastly, I do recommend this book to you lots. Well this may not be your cup of tea, but if you wanted a fast read and something which is weird and kinky + virgin + 7 x Alpha = This will be the book for you.
This has the bare bones of an ok story but with more character development and better world building it could have been phenomenal. This was the first time I have read this author.
So, I honestly wanted to give this book a higher rating because I think the plotline makes for an interesting story and it held promise. But there was just too many things I had issues with.
Issue #1: Too fast burn. As someone who's not completely against insta love and fast burn in contrast to a lot of other readers, I found it to be a problem in this book because it makes little sense to have some of the mmcs die for a girl they barely know and in turn have her cry over a few dudes she barely knows. For something as big as death and sacrifice, there needs to be a deeper/more established connection between the characters so that the sacrifice and sadness of what happened can be truly felt. The connections and emotions were just lacking in this sense, which makes sense considering they died like 2 days after meeting the mfmc 😭😅 They barely got to know each other at all.....
Talking about death and sacrifice leads to the second issue.
Issue #2: Harem is cut in half. I understand that in dystopian settings, it's more unrealistic to have everyone survive and live unscathed or without a few deaths. But it was just disappointing to read 5 of the mmcs dieing :/ Especially knowing that only one of them got to have sex with the mfmc and none of them were able to build a connection with her before dying. She literally didn't even have the chance to know their real names before they died 😭 Issue #3: Unequal time between the mmcs. This is probably my biggest gripe for this book because its essential for rh stories to get this right. As you continue to read through, you can clearly tell which mmcs are more prioritized than the rest. I'm specifically talking about how I knew Mattias was going to be a mmc from the very beginning because of his interactions with the mfmc. In contrast to this, I felt there was barely any attention put onto Elias, Zen, and Cowboy 😞 I felt they slipped into the background almost always and it didnt help that they were killed off.
Issue #4: Unsure how to feel about the mfmc. I don't have anything against the mfmc, but it was a little hard to get a grasp of her character. Especially, when she was going back and forth constantly. And what I mean by this is that she will appear to be wild and tough in one scene and then be so submissive in the next or vice-versa. For example, she accepts her fate when the sheriff comes to "test" her out and she even gets a little turned on. But then not too long later, she reaches her limit when the sheriff commands she gets naked in front of the mmcs and kills him. Another example is how she constantly talks about how wild and uncontrollable she is but then comes to terms with being bred and is okay with being dominated for sex. . . . . Overall, I wasn't too disappointed with this book because I read the reviews before going in and sort of knew what to expect based on the summary. I wasn't necessarily disappointed, but it could've been better. . . . Would not recommend this book to readers who:
-hate dubcon -hate sexist/misogynistic characters -hate women being oppressed and objectified -hate mmcs dying -hate fastburn
I don't know how this author does it, but every book that she writes is 100% unique. With her enormous backlist, one night think it would be impossible to be that creative over and over again. Don't make that assumption! This is a reverse harem book, and goodness knows how many of those books I've read in the last year. Not one of them resembled this funny dystopian take with a wildly likable cast of characters.
We learn quickly that the book takes place "post-event" after war devastated the United States and caused a new world order. A vaccine wrecked DNA and caused widespread death and destruction. Women are covered for procreation and child bearing. After being caught and discovered as a female, Trissa is auctioned to the highest bidder and prepared for her new life. You think you've seen this synopsis before? This is definitely different and cliche free.
Trissa is what they call a wild girl, growing up outside the walls of the nearby city, and she's woefully uneducated on many things that lead to laugh out loud moments. She was taught by her father before he died about certain curse words, and I won't spoil it here, but they aren't your typical curses. She is a strong female, and she does something outrageous that changes everything.
The book dives into politics that might sound a bit familiar to those of us in the USA right now, albeit they are worse in the story. The thought of a vaccine causing war is very plausible, rooting this scifi story in an honest plausibility. The sex scenes are creative and hot, but don't overwhelm the story. You might say huh when I tell you there's an HEA. But it's there, unconventional and just as special as these characters are.
I did not want to close the pages on Trissa and her world Sold takes its reader on an emotional journey that is both delightful and entertaining - So many of the RH books are the same "got ya" "men beating chest" "woman capitulates" "yadda yadda" - just different names and altered scenes - That was not the case here not even close! I truly wish this was a bit longer read (yes that is me being greedy) there were so many possibilities within this story as well as back story lines. Exceptional characters that I wanted more of it - I loved Trissa, for the most part, (there were a couple times I wanted to spank her arse )she was funny - a touch feral and quite wily - heavens did she bring it - she was strong-willed and at no time did she truly capitulate she took time to process the events and choose the correct response - she was honest with herself The men were an enticing and fervent buffet of personage - Again this is an area I truly wish we had gotten more of. We do get to spend a little time with each character and we touch briefly on who they are - Trissa's nicknames helped greatly in attaching personalities and physical descriptions - I just wished we had gotten a bit more backstory Overall a wonderfully engaging post-apocalyptic read - This does contain scenes that are dub con - as well as some domestic discipline - this is a dark romance after all
It has been a long time since I have read such a magnificent dark reverse harem romance, this romance is set in dystopian/post-apocalyptic United States & it certainly kept my attention until the last page was turned. I found the characters to be well-developed with well-defined personalities, individually each of them are quite unique & display realistic emotional feelings. The plot scenario is conceivable & well-written with some devious undertones & unexpected occurrences. There is: a strong-willed independent young woman (Trissa), the male mercenaries who become involved in her life (Pharaoh/Mattias, Silver/ Seraph, Alexios/Gladiator, Cowboy/Rick, Zen/Steve, Keanau/Tattoo Face, Nordic Man/Tore), the two male eunuchs/slaves (Mattias & Elias), twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, drama, adventure, action, some humor, danger, enemies, threats, riots, invasion, war, conflict, dubious consent, escape attempts, strange profanity, emotional turmoil, fear, defiance, defensiveness, public humiliation, loss, grief, betrayal, punishment, spanking, ideas, unexpected surprise, dismay, submission, contentment, graphic steamy scenes & a satisfying ending. I really enjoyed reading this dark romance & would recommend it to people who enjoy reading this genre.
Sold is a dark, reverse harem romance. Trissa was born into a world where she’s far outnumbered, extremely rare, and not just wild, but free. While in the city, trying to find money and security, she’s discovered, taken, and sold to several men. Her whole life is about to change, but will Trissa keep her wildness, or will her new owners break her spirit?
Holy smokes! This book was amazing, intense, full of fierce independence, facing the consequences of your actions, and realizing that fate might be more involved than we ever realized. Trissa is such a strong character, full of life, full of rash decisions, and I love that she refuses to curb her wildness. Her men were all unique, all dominant, all giving her different things that she needed and craved. This book will take you through all of the emotions, action packed, full of political drama, and their passion was scorching the pages. Dark romances always get my heart pounding right from the beginning, with dubious consent, being overtaken by strength and numbers, punishment scenes, and definitely having some darker tones. I really enjoyed this romance and look forward to more books from Ms. Renard!
This book started off pretty good. It reminded me of the time during the Great Depression but instead of everyone’s money being gone it’s the women. If you’re all for women’s rights then you’ll hate this book. I feel like as a woman in this world they should have all the power. How are woman rare and still get treated like shit with no respect. The sex parts were great the story line was cool too. But I feel like I needed to know the characters more. There was a lot of action that reminded me of something I saw off pirates of the Caribbean. If all the characters you started off with weren’t even going to get to do anything then I don’t see the point in having so many extra people in the story. It was like the author wanted a harem but could only think up a good threesome. Trissa could have been a better character. Like if you’re going to be head strong and wild and not give a fuck then I’m going to need you to stay like that during the entire book. I know she was brought as a basically slave for these mercenaries but that self love still needs to be in there. I’m not hating on anything, because I still liked the book and this is just my opinion on it.
Trissa has been free all her life and stayed hidden away from men. Her world is violent and women are nothing more than breeders. She wants nothing to do with any man but the she is found out and captured. The Sheriff, a cruel man, take enjoyment and her capture. She is to be sold to the highest bidder. She will not be broken and no man will tame her.
You are never too certain who the men truly are. When Trissa is taken to the palace, I thought these men were part of those that would take her. But Mattias and Elias aren’t. I actually like these two. We do finally meet the true men, seven to be exact, that have bought her. It is funny with the names she comes up for each man. Pharaoh (Oren), Gladiator (Alexios), Cowboy (Rick), Silver (Seraph), Zen (Steve), Tattoo Face (Keanau), and Nordic Man (Tore). This story is not all happiness. There is a war that is waged and be prepared to cry because it snuck up and me. I felt the hurt and grieved as Trissa did. This story is going to move you. It isn’t your typical Loki story. This one digs really deep.
This is a very entertaining Sci-fi romance set in a post-apocalyptic United States where women are rare and men are desperate to possess the remaining few. I really enjoyed the imagery of this harsh way of life and found the reasons that led to this new reality quite plausible and frightening. I really liked Trissa’s character. Having grown up living on her own on the outskirts of civilization (such as it is), she is feisty, fearless and resourceful. While there are definitely some dark elements to this story courtesy of the Master/captive theme and disciplinary punishments etc., I would describe this story as dark-ish when compared to some extremely dark romances I’ve read. The story while short is well written with compelling characters. There’s plenty of action and adventure along with some humour, drama and several seriously steamy scenes including some ménage encounters. My only complaint with the story is that it ended too soon.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the sincerest compliment I can pay her. Her latest work, “Sold” is, above all, fiction, beyond what I would consider “fetish erotica” or “dark erotica”. But dark, oh yes, it is. This is a dystopian vision of a world I personally have a hard time being aroused by. The world-building here, the vision behind it, take precedence to mere diddle fodder—at least for me. (Not sure about the rest of you sicko ladies, eh?) And at least for me, that dark vision subsumes all else, including my connection to characters, the development of relationship, and yes, sexual arousal.
I love Loki’s vision. I love her sense of humor. I love her writing. I can’t always dance to it, though. I didn’t dance to “Sold”, but if you’re a fan of dark (-er) erotica, this is a stellar and much-recommended read.
I look forward to each new entry in the Loki Renard oeuvre, and I’ll say this: I look forward to her fiction. She is a writer, and one that isn’t and shouldn’t be constrained by genre labels.
Females have nearly been eradicated Ten years, Trissa had been living by herself since her father’s murder, hiding in the shadows and emerging only when it was safe as she dressed as a male wearing a beard and having her hair up. This was a dangerous undertaking there were very few women still left alive and those that had survived were in private harems or held as prized possessions. Unfortunately. this day would change her life forever and there was very little she could do but hold on to her dreams, beliefs and wildness and she would show no fear and this was money bank and Trissa hated the man, he enjoyed trying to subjugate and objectify his women and she knew that she would never allow the man to use her, breed her!! A wonderful read, a Loki Renard read that once again held my attention from beginning to the very last page. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
