This is a serious book for serious players. Just about everything you would need to know about soloing in a jazz context is covered here (and in volume 2) in a brilliant fashion. Chords, arpeggios and runs are given for each position. There are some SERIOUS memorization skills needed to take it all in. The two volumes are a must have for anyone interested in improvising on the guitar.

I actually don't own this book, I have vol. 2. Vol. 2 is really good. I am still working through it, when I have the time for it.
