Kimberly Duncan has been with Trent for almost eight years and all she has to show for it is an unresolved resentment from their rocky, infidelity-stained past. Yet, when he asked her to marry him, she accepted.
Her plans to shack up with her future husband causes issues with her family, especially her next-level, judgmental mother. Everyone thinks their opinions matter to Kim, but she will do what she feels is right.
Trenton Marks knows how lucky he is with a woman like Kim, but he doesn’t always act like it. Whenever he doesn’t feel heard, all bets are off.
With interference from the constant secret-spilling betrayal by their two best friends (who happen to be married to each other), Kim’s family, and Trent’s past, can they beat the odds stacked up against them and make this thing work?

4.5 1st read by this author. I felt Trent and Kim's relationship was toxic to say the least. Their closeness to Brian and Denise-two love birds, didn't seem to help their relationship flourish. Secrets exposed. Storyline held my interest as this roller coaster relationship discussed realistic situations. The ending was very shocking and has me looking forward to reading next part.
Loved this story and I can't wait until the sequel comes out! I dont read novels alot but it was refreshing to get both views in one book! I feel like I know the characters and it was hard to put the book down! 😍
Initially, I thought the heroine would make it out of her relationship unscathed. I did not expect her to leave it in the predicament she found herself embroiled. Wow!
Trent is immature and undeserving of Kim. And I thought Brian needed to man up in book four, looks like this was always the case with him. Him and Denise went beyond trying to help their friends out, they complete busy bodies that didn’t let grown folks handle their own shit.
Kim’s family was a hot mess, especially that so called Christian mother of hers. Too damn judgmental
Excuses me? “I’ve always loved you!” I look at Brian from book four mad differently. As much as Denise annoyed me for different reasons in both book one vs book four, he doesn’t deserve her.
I take back my earlier comment of not wanting to read the other books. I’m hooked
This was my first time reading a book by this author. I must say I did enjoy this reading. I definitely will be reading part 2 just to see how everything play out.
I LOVED this book!!! It’s a book that I could not see what was coming next, and it brought out all my emotions. I loved some characters and hated some! Lol This book was so relatable, I think I relate most to being a real mom like Trent mother <3.
