I thought only humans existed.

I was wrong… so very wrong. When a pack of wolves tries to kill me, a mysterious blue-eyed stranger saves my life. But he disappears so quickly that I begin to wonder if it was all just a bad dream.

As it turns out, it’s only the start of my bad dreams. When Tristan Frost, Mr. Blue Eyes himself, shows up at my school, he seems to be unusually interested in me. And he’s not the only one. There’s also Killian, the other new guy in town, who just so happens to be my brother’s new best friend. The closer I get to both of them, the more my life begins to feel like something out of a movie.

Before I know it, I find myself falling for both of them. There’s just two 1. Neither of them is human, and

2. They both need me more than I know. And that’s not all.

My heart will soon belong to one of them, my body to the other. I just don’t know it yet.

***I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review***
Jody and Jayme Morse have done it again! They wrote book 1 in a new series and brought the fire! I read this book in one sitting and immediately wanted to start the next one. I am bummed I have to wait until the end of summer for book 2 to come out! Like they say..."The longer you wait for something, the more you'll appreciate it when you get it. Cause anything worth having is definitely worth waiting..." - (unknown)
Gemma... She starts off by having these fever and doesn't understand why its not going away. Strange things start to happen to her as well. Like getting attacked by wolves and two sexy new men in her lives that both secretly want her. She is attracted to the both of them, but doesn't necessarily want to be...
Killian .... I was team Killian since the first moment Gemma and him met! The chemistry between them is suffocating, but I am totally a sucker for the whole soul mates, mate, chemistry thing. Killian sounds like the man I want protecting me and sleeping in my bed beside me. Shhh... don't tell my husband ;)
Tristan... He is the mysterious savior. He saves Gemma multiple times, but is he doing this because he actually likes her and wants her safe. I like Tristan, but idk there is just something. I am not entirely sure he is out for Gemma's best interest. He seemed to be consumed with his own gains which is why he is protecting her.
I cannot wait for book 2 in this series! Jody and Jayme ... you both gave me my groove back. I have been swamped with reviewing books and it seemed like there were a couple that were just meh rather than me really enjoying them. So thank you for this!

I really enjoyed it!!!

I really enjoyed this book, as I do with most anything from these ladies!! As with any first book of a series, it starts out kinda slow leading up to the different twists and turns that are going to happen. Very easy to read and follow. The ending leaves you with lots of different things to look forward to in upcoming books. So ready to where this series is going to go!!!

A brilliant start to this series! It may have been a little predictable when it came to the guys mc but the twist as to why they were drawn to the female mc I didn’t see coming. .
I’m Team Killian all the way, something about Tristan that makes me hard to trust his character.
.
I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

What I liked:
-Tristan. Of the two love interests for Gemma, I much preferred Tristan over Killian. He seemed more sincere right from the start, and his feelings for Gemma come off as much healthier. He requires her help same as Killian, but it's not for personal reasons on his part; it's for the greater good. His motives seem far less selfish where Gemma is concerned, and his willingness to do anything to keep her safe, even risking his own life, makes me feel like he's the better match for her.
-Writing. In this book, the writing style was a good mix of up close and personal, while still being distant enough to convey important information. There was a little description to bring the setting to life, but it didn't bog down the story with unneeded prose.

What I disliked:
-Killian. For some reason, I really don't like him at all. As a potential love interest for Gemma, he feels all over the place. One minute he's the most sure thing in her life, and the next she's doubting everything about him. I don't like the way he talks to Gemma, and I don't like how their relationship has progressed. She feels like she has to help him, no matter the cost, and I don't think their relationship is based on anything real.
-Plot. It feels a little all over the place. Like many of the books by these authors, things get crazy fast. It usually starts off with a bang and then never slows down, and while that's good in terms of keeping the reader interested, it does take away some of my enjoyment because of how far-fetched and insane it gets. And even worse, very little of the story seems to have anything to do with the grand scheme of things. Instead, we spend way more time watching Gemma fall for two boys, neither of which she knows well enough to be calling mates.

Overall, this book was good, but it wasn't great. A decent first entry in a young adult fantasy series, but I was still left wanting more. If you're a fan of vampires and werewolves, and the age-old love triangle, this is a good book for you. But don't expect anything serious or life changing. 4.0

Frostbite (Blood and Thorns Book 1)

Frostbite (Blood and Thorns Book 1) ~ This book kicks off a supernatural story with drama, secrets, and romance. The main character is a teenage girl who’s thrown into a world she didn’t expect—one with magic, hidden dangers, and people who aren’t exactly human. She has to learn fast who to trust while figuring out her own powers and identity. Think of it like high school meets the paranormal with a side of “OMG, what just happened?” energy. It’s a fast-paced read with enough mystery to keep you turning pages. Definitely worth reading ad recommend this book 📕 /  📚

I love reading these authors. I auto-buy all of their books because I enjoy the writing style and the characters. Love triangles are especially a favorite of mine. These two pen great ones in their books and this one was no different.

I love Thorn and Frost. Then there’s a who did it part of the plot and it had me obsessively turning the pages to find out what happened next.

Can’t wait to read the sequel and already looking forward to the other wolf series starting next. Five glittery stars!

I really like the development and story of the first half of the book. However, I felt that the second half of the book seemed rushed. Like one minute Gemma is a regular girl, then all of a sudden all this stuff is happening to her. That might be just the way the story is, but I feel it would have been better if the ending wasn’t so rushed and there was more development like the beginning of the book.

Nevertheless, this was an enjoyable book to read.

The Best!

I could not put this book down. I enjoyed every part. The person that did a review and rating on this book that claimed you never find out the characters ages. That claim is false. I loved the imagery and details. I loved the twist and want more!

I really liked the pace of this book. It was very difficult to solve the novel. It left just enough at the end to let you know you have to read the next book to see what happens

So good

Wow once I started this book I could not put down, I was completely hooked. This story is just so intriguing. Gemma has no clue what she is and is for some reason feels a connection to both Tristan and killian. Just really liked this and can't wait to read the next book.
