Our heroine blackmails bad men. Our heroes think she destroyed their brother. Where does the truth lie and what does it mean?
This is a complicated book in that there is no clear cut hero here. Everyone has done something bad and each thinks it is for the right reasons, but where does the true blame really lie? The story is dark, featuring D/S and punishments, as well as some steamy scenes. But it is a bit of a stretch to call it a romance as the ending doesn't make it clear where the relationships are going.
There were definitely a lot of twists and turns in this one, making it more akin to an intrigue story. And the plot line was engaging, with the reader just as intrigued as the characters to figure out what is going on. While the story does not end in a cliffhanger, not all things are clearly tied up in a bow either. Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable read. I just would have liked a little more closure.

Based on the description, I was super excited to read this book. However, the story fell way flat from what I was expecting. Granted, it is a dark erotic romance, but the story almost seemed forced. I felt like I was missing pieces, and it even felt rushed.

Amazing story!! Dark romance of Lizzy, Reynard & Mauro. Lizzy is a blackmailer. She lures men with something to lose into an intimate online relationship then uses that to get money from them. One of these relationships is what puts her into Reynard & Mauro's sights. Reynard & Mauro want vengeance. They both can be prone to darkness, Reynard more so than his brother. They will make Lizzy pay for her grievances. But what happens when the captive starts to believe she is deserving of their punishment & can't live without it? Truths are revealed & things come to light that put Reynard & Mauro's business in jeopardy as well as their freedom. The captors become the captives when they end up in jail related to their business. Now it's Lizzy's turn to save the men that saved her, even though that wasn't their intention.
I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Just wish there was an epilogue, I'm addicted to them, so we could see how they were doing after some time passed.

Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!
OMG, what a fantastic, twisted, intense story. This is such a twisted play on being made to live up to your promises, with a great suspenseful story to boot.
Lizzy makes her living allowing men to tell her their twisted, dark, perverted fantasies. She's a bad girl and bad girls get punished. Mauro and Reynard Jackson are out to get revenge against the woman who took their brother for a fool and never looked back. They plan to make her pay with her body, tears, humiliation and pain. What the Jackson brothers aren't prepared for is the woman she becomes and how she may be their only hope to save their company and redeem their souls. This is a dark, twisted story with excellent characters and I loved every single twisted word of it!!! A must read for sure!

With a bit of blackmail and vengeance their worlds collide and none are the same after. This book was very dark - these men are twisted in their desires and want to make Lizzy pay with her body for what she did to their brother. Lizzy is an innocent but she is not innocent of what they charger her with - she takes advantage of men and she has a conscience, so she accepts what they demand of her, and learns to crave it and them. None thought they would find a mate but they have through this twist of fate. Ms. Callahan has created these dark characters with their twisty little quirks and tells his story with creativity and relish.

Wow, what a deliciously dark and twisty read. This is book one of the Descent into Darkness series and it is off to a fantastic start. This story is about a woman named Lizzy who is not the most straight laced person as she blackmails men for money. She gets caught in the Jackson brothers (Reynard and Mauro) sights as they are in search of vengeance. The Jackson brothers believe they are punishing Lizzy by holding her captive and punishing her for her transgressions but Lizzy is starting to not find this a punishment at all, she is enjoying it. As the story unfolds Reynard and Mauro learn more about what is going on in their company which is starting to reveal more truths about what is going on. This book kept me on my toes and anxiously turning each page to see what what going to be unveiled next. Like the warning states this is a dark romance but it is a great story. Book two, please.

Three brothers own a company Mauro is the CEO Wyatt runs the Chicago office and Raynard he just lives life but when Wyatt dies his brothers are determined that Lizzy will pay the price for her part in it,. They will keep her captive and she will start to crave the punishment they dish out to her but what will happen when they realise that there is much more to Wyatt's death than they assumed and that Lizzy may have nothing to do with it at all. This is a dark story with plenty of triggers so be aware before purchasing it.

I have no idea how Ms. Kelli Callahan has continually crafted such engrossing storylines, but she does so time and again. In this dark romance book, you are introduced to three rather unique individuals that get quickly caught up in a web of drama so much bigger then themselves. Lizzy is facing her penance in the eyes of the Jackson brothers but how will they react when they discover they were wrong? Who will help them now before they lose everything? Riveting Book.

I loved the storyline. The three main characters, Mauro, Reynard and Lizzie had twists and turns. The darkness that crept in throughout the story as well as erotic behavior I loved it. To be *caged* it does make a person reflect on the lives that they live. When your working the family business the father died and three brothers were given the company, Mauro was the CEO of the company, another brother Wyatt ran the Chicago branch and then there is Reynard that just lived off the company. Things changed when Wyatt the brother died Reynard wanted to find out the truth.

They kidnap her and put her in a cage and make her follow through on promises she made and didn't fulfill. Lizzie thinks she deserves what they are doing to her so she doesn't fight them. However what will they do when they discover that they are wrong about Lizzie? Can Lizzie forgive them for what they did?
This is a great story that will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. This was a dark story about Lizzy, Mauro and Reynard. She's a young woman who has an bad habit of blackmailing men who have a fetish for young innocent girls. Mauro and Reynard are brothers of Wyatt, on if her victims. After Wyatt is found dead, the guys seen revenge. Lizzy gets caught while walking home by there guys. They keep her captive and are going to extract all the promises she made as punishment. But in the process she find she craves the dark side and needs the capital punishment. Then they are surprised when she saves them. Dark but interesting.

Distasteful
The idea for the story good almost very good but the execution poor and distasteful. I don’t mind dark but this was meaningless with dubious consent mishandling of young heroine who stupidly thought she deserved what came her way. Reynard was sadistic bastard in my opinion with no appeal whatsoever. His brother much better character but still too weak to say no to Reynard.
The sex was brutal, tasteless and offputing BDSM of dubious consent. Could not enjoy any part of this book it felt off and very unrealistic. Had it been better presented and handled with some emotional human impact it would have been very good story. As it is it’s big fat no for recommendation.

I’ve read a lot of dark books similar to this. In fact, it’s so similar that I feel like parts of this book were taken from several other books. The cage, the prison, the blah. It’s the same thing. And I liked those books.
This one however, I didn’t. I didn’t connect to any of the characters and I certainly didn’t feel for any of them. The heroine, tortured guy what’s-his-name, is stupid. Everyone in this book is stupid. It’s as if the reason to torture her was pulled out of someone's ass and just a reason for reasons sake. Actually, everything everyone does in this books were reasons for reasons sake. There was no real depth or thought. There just was.
Maybe it just wasn’t for me. In any case, not going to bother with the rest of the series as I already feel exhausted by this one.

An Amazing Book!
What an amazing read, pain and punishment, revenge, this book had it all. The plot was twisted, it kept me guessing, the truth set them free and gave satisfaction in return. This is not a simple menage or though that is there as well, instead it is truth hidden for over ten years and a plot to destroy a man's legacy. A young woman forced to confess her sins and two brothers intent on making the culprit pay in any way they can. A book that deserves more than five star.

What a dark and steamy read! I love reading Caged by Them.
Lizzy had a bright future and carved a place of her own, but her past mistake caught up with her. Kidnapped and caged by brothers Reynard and Mauro, for their older brother's death. Lizzy was not in the mood to be chatted up especially from some man leaning out of a van. She was polite but told them no when he asked her her name. Lizzie was happy when the van pulled away. But was horrified when the van came to a holt and a masked man came running out grabbing her he put something over her mouth whispering " Go to sleep sweet Lizzy" OMG he knew her name. And that was the last thought she had.
Until a voice tells her to wake up. The room was dark and all she could feel were bars surrounding her. Was she in a cage??

This is one of those stories you just must read for yourself. Anything I say here will just detract from your experience and that is not what I want to do. What I can say is that this story captivated me from page one. I couldn't put it down, the pages were practically turning themselves. The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because after such a riveting tale that had my heart pounding, the ending felt rushed and slapped together. So if you are OK with reading a story that is dark and has some triggers this one will fit the bill nicely.

Reynard and Mauro are on a hunt. Their brother committed suicide because of Lizzy's game. They decide to get their revenge in their "play room".
This seemed like a total circle from Kelli's usual story and it took me a moment to realize what the story was going to. Still hot, still held my attention and my interest till the end.
Lizzy does have some redeeming points and you can see how the brothers evolve.

Wow
This book is very dark. At first I did not know if I would enjoy it, but I kept going as I love Keli's writing. I am so glad I did.
The story is dark and full of: hate, revenge, sadism, lies and loathing. But it twists into: beauty, passion, longing and the truth.
The characters are beautifully written, the darkness crawls of the page and you can feel the pain.
The plot twist and turns, the darkness stays but is framed with light.
If you like your stories a bit rougher and dark. This is definitely for you and I highly recommend it.

I didn't really enjoy this book that much. I mean it was okay, but I felt a huge disconnect between me and the characters. I just didn't relate to them really. They seemed kind of shallow. Even the sex scenes didn't really do it for me.
I didn't really think the story was that believable in general and I wasn't really sold on both Reynard and Mauro being dominants.

Very dark...
This is the first book in a new series-"Descent into Darkness". The series title is very appropriate as this is a very "dark" read and may not be for everyone. I have read several stories by this author and this one is unlike any of them. Is that a bad thing? Not necessarily. Again, it will all depend on your personal preferences. I enjoyed this book and will be looking for the next one in the series.
