I kissed my best friend...... and now he is trying to kill me.I loved Ryland LaRue from the moment I knew what love was. I loved him so much I risked everything to save him. That risk exploded just like his house, and took pretty much everyone I cared about with it. Including him. Now, my best friend, my first love, and I guess my magical-soul-bonding-husband is hunting me. Yes, hunting me. Full-on attack mode. Edmund, wants me dead, and now that Ryland is under his control, he wants me dead too. Awesome. I would probably be dead already if Ilyan wasn't protecting me. Or rather, subjecting me to the ultimate house-arrest. Even that isn't enough. It's not me that's in trouble after all, it's my mind. How can you protect your mind from the attack of someone you can't even see?Cue the two guys that Ilyan has been hiding inside a freakin' mountain. Everyone has their secrets, it seems. One of these days all of those secrets are going to get me killed. Why? Because I guess I'm the freaking Silny now. I think I've had enough of secrets. The second installment of the internationally best selling Imdalind Series, EYES OF EMBER, is full of all the twists, and danger, and star-crossed lovers you could ask for. First, I have to say that this world/history and character building and progression is just getting better and better!
I am completely torn between Ryland and Illyan at this point.
I am so glad I am reading this series. I literally have no fault with this series so far. It is just what i need to read.

I love the history of this 'hidden magical world' and how its been explained abit more in this sequel.
I am jumping straight into book three now.
I AM LOVING THIS SERIES SO MUCH..

BEFORE I READ THE BOOK: I smell a possible love triangle. Please NO! The storyline is not something I can deal with again. Ever.

The first book surprised me, so I'm hoping this one does as well!

AFTER I READ THE BOOK: This is a jumble of thoughts. A more thorough review will come:

Well that certainly was surprising. I'm still very confused about where exactly this is going. I'm not sure I can trust anyone's characterization at this point. I'm most perplexed about the love situation. I have a lot to say about that, but I need to think it through a bit more before I do. This is most definitely a love triangle, but another book is needed for me to understand exactly what is happening (i.e. if it will go away or continue to drag out). I feel like I lack a lot of clarity still. Instead of feeling hopeful for the potential couple at the end of this book, I mostly feel sad for the loser, and confused about what exactly happened. I hope the author provides some more insight in the future.

Definitely grammatical/editing mistakes. More than book one. But I read an arc, so those might be fixed. I also think the book was a lot longer than it needed to be, especially for the amount of confusion I feel at the end of it.

The next book is apparently from Wyn's point of view, which will be a fun perspective. But I'm not sure when/if we're going to get answers from these particular characters. The series is going to be at least 5 books, which makes sense if we are going to be following different people around. But at this point, I'm not sure if I can handle more.

If you don't have as negative reaction to love triangles as I do, you may not have the same reaction to this story at all. I don't like them to begin with, and I have been burned by several recently. That is very much coloring my reaction to this story, although it's not all triangle based.

The Imdalind series by Rebecca Ethington just keeps getting better-and-better. The second book in the series, Eyes of Ember, can be considered as a major plot-definer - a lot of things are revealed. Moreover, there is also a possible plot-changer - all I will reveal is the possibility of a love triangle.

One complain I have from the prose is the repetitiveness of the text. The author has blatantly used the same phrase over-and-over again to describe a particular act. Someone has got to introduce her to the concept of synonyms.

The other complain is regarding the numerous grammatical mistakes that ahave seeped in even after what I am sure was a rigorous amount of editing and re-editing. The blame shall lie with the editor and the publisher. I so hope the rest of the works in the series are grammatically better than this one.

Must read if you liked the first book in the series. I am definitely going to pick up the next part.

Verdict: Recommended.

Oh. My. Ilyan. Wow, what an emotional journey and how much did my opinion sway between this book and the first. Who knew I was going to turn into TEAM ILYAN?? Not me! But I am so in love with him. He is sweet, strong, tender, selfless, and a million other things that make him such a perfect "main guy." Oh, I just want to read certain parts all over again. I really like Jos too. I think she is really coming into her own. I have to second what my GR's friend Kathy Jo said, Oh how I loved the part where Jos finally sees the vision of what Ilyan means to her. After you see it and you realize all he did to still save the "love of her life." Oh my hey. I would say I want a guy like that, but the great news for me is I already have one. :)

For me this book was leaps and bounds better then the first. The only thing that I really don't love about this series is the "evil" or "dark" element. I realize that when you have evil that's when you can truly see the good and greatness of others. Sometimes it's just a little to dark for me. The ending especially. Where are we suppose to land with Ryland? Again, such a 180 degree change from the first book. So many questions still!! The worst part is I don't know when they will be answered since the next two books are suppose to take place from other characters perspectives and just go back in time a bit.

Glad I picked it up! Thank Kathy Jo!

Well this took forever to finish; at first it was because of finals, but when those were over it still took forever to finish, but before I talk about that-

I really liked the first book it had everything I loved in a YA and I was surprised while I was reading this second book because it had became almost completely Fantasy - which isn't a bad thing because it showed the diversity and skill in the author's writing.

So back to why I didn't really like this book, or thought it was just okay. The writing was great but I expected more from the plot. I got tired of reading the repetitiveness in some parts and of the parts that dragged on and on.

I won't be reading the third book and I'm sad that I'm laying this series to rest.

Different Kind of Magic Book

I like the change of having magic all based out of Czech. The characters are mostly interesting. The ending for this book seemed to have a little extra angst to it, but overall the story is moving along well.

This book made me feel uncomfortable. While I do enjoy a lot of internal struggle and psychology in books, this one had a bit too much for my mind to wrap around. The research the author must have done kind of is amazing, because I can only imagine the psychological aspect of it on its own. She wrote it so well that I was able to, not identify, because I have never lost my mind, but to empathize, I guess would be the right word, maybe. And how Joclyn would react in these situations and how her mind would get twisted. The writing was just so wonderful.
I feel kind of bad for Ryland in this book. In the first book I didn’t really like Joclyn that much. And Ryland was my favorite so it hurt my heart to know what he was going through. I couldn’t imagine having a family, something you identify with love and acceptance, treat you that way. And I understand how he broke but I’m just sad for him.
Ilyan has the patience of a saint. I don’t know how he is able to remain sane while everyone else around him takes a ride to the funny farm, especially with his longevity in life. Maybe that’s why he doesn’t lose his mind because he’s already lived so long.
Solid follow up to the first book, it went in a completely different way than I expected. I expected things to get better and they ended up getting worse. And I didn’t think there was a worse, until I read this book. Knowing that there are five books in the series I am very curious to know what’s going to happen in the next book.

I will start by saying that I was pretty frustrated at the grammatical errors that were rather prevalent in this book. So you might be okay if that sort of thing doesn't bother you.
Onto my view of the story...may contain spoilers.
The relationship between Joclyn and Ryland was such a good thing in the first book. I absolutely hate that she has made it such a poisonous thing. It is highly disturbing to me the course that she has taken in pretty much destroying the minds of 2 of the characters in order to give the pairing of Joclyn and Ilyan a chance at all, even though Ryland was not actually the one torturing her in the mindscape she was in. Honestly, with the way this second book ended I am seriously doubting my reading the third book. I know it would be hard to compete with someone who has basically been devoted to you for 800 years- though there is the creepy factor there as well. But, with my current information, I find it hard to reconcile the Ryland of before with the image of a power-mad man that many other reviewers seems to see. He fought his father every step of the way before they even knew she had power, and impossibly kept fighting his father for her long after his mind was supposed to have been destroyed and he was to have forgotten her. I can only hope there will be a better resolution than what has been foreshadowed in this book, which would sad indeed.

This was really good. It had all the feelings I love in a book, love, anxiety, the need to turn the pages faster. The romance isn't the main part of the story, but it is just enough. And the twists and action keep had me screaming for more. I even tried to get out of going to work:) I can't wait to start the next book and get more of Joclyn and Ilyan.

Edit: Reread 3/15 Loved this book just as much as last time.how could anyone not love Ilyan? And I don't hate Ryland, but I want to. I feel bad for him. Joclyn is stubborn and should have listened.

Another read. Still good.

I wrote a BUNCH of thoughts and speculation in Lauren's review here. Feel free to read it (in the comments). Beware, there are spoilers.
http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

As for the book, I really did like it. It got me to think and write obscenely long speculations about the plot and characters. That's a good thing. I only docked 1/2 a point due to the confusion surrounding Ryland. It annoyed me. LOL. As written in my speculation posts, I really can't understand some aspects of his characters. Who is Ryland?

Ilyan. I really liked him. I hope him and Jos get their HEA. We'll have to see, though!

I can't wait for the rest of the books, though. I hope that, since they'll be from different POVs, we'll get a better understanding of things. Jos' POV is very limited and at times biased (esp with Ryland), so it's hard to trust her view and understanding of things (as it is with all 1st POV). And also, she doesn't know a lot of things other characters like Wyn does. So, we'll have to see!

Copy & paste of my comments from Lauren's review (in case something happens to it):

RE: comment about the vision Ilyan saw -

Also, long rambling speculation/thoughts. LOL...

Long speculation about Ryland in re: to final scene with him & Jos:

Edited to add one last possibility for that last Ryland scene:

WWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWW....WOW..JUST WOW....

Song Choice: "The Girl" by City and Colour, but really it should be called The Boy as i am dedicating this song to Ilyan. "I Don't Care" by Fall Out Boy dedicated to only Jos at the first half of the book "Somebody I Used to Know" by Gotye, and "Sleeping Sickness" by City and Colour for the certain characters/the whole book as well.

Kay first off this is a second to a series, so yes there will be spoilers from the first book, will there be spoilers from this book, nope not unless i hide them. with a warning because I am nice. Second off I really freakin' like the first one, actually it was a favorite, and I am sort of sorry for going off the handle in advance!

First thoughts: What the fuck was the first half of this book? I am not shitting you, what the fuck? Okay i am sorry i shouldn't have swore. What the fudge? I will say this, as much, and seriously there were a few times i was going to give up, i am being honest okay! i am sorry! anyways i was going to give up, and i have a feeling you might considered it as well, don't. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T because it gets fantastically better, and after lifting the haze of red, hot anger, i see what Rebecca was doing for the most part. And i will elaborate in characters I promise because that is where the source of my problems stemmed from, the characters. I love you still Rebecca...please don't be mad!

Thoughts on Plot: I thought this was very interesting, I loved the plot in this book it moved a lot quicker than the first, but then again we know everything....well almost everything well, we know what we are dealing with and we have missions! What slowed the reading process of this book for me again was the characters...or character....but moving on from that one....for now... The plot! awesome, fantastic! loved it! i really didn't guess certain things until we were almost upon them anyways for the most part it shocked me other times not so much, it broke my heart, and torn me to pieces, the second half though comes through as the stronger in both plot and character wise much like the first book, and very much like the first book this first half was us falling for the characters... i mean character, eh screw it! it was all about falling for Ilyan. Plot = good!

Thoughts on Characters:

Um! I would like to state there might be some very how do i put this...brutal terminology, and cruel things said out of hatred but i will also explain why you should still read this book even though certain characters (jos) makes you want to rip her freaking head off. also i will try to refrain from swearing!

Joclyn (Jos): *perfectly creepy smile in place, with eye twitching and all that jazz* I am completely calm right now....my right hand is not shaking like I just drank three energy drinks and ate a bag of wild berry skittles, (no seriously i didn't do that, i would probably die because of the sugar overload) the point is...I WAS GOING TO KILL JOS. sooo that wasn't quite right, i am pretty sure i said i was going to murder her with a rusty knife, nooo i think it was more along of the lines of i was going to find the must painful way to kill her, and i am not a violent person, really i am not, sure i kill a few bugs here and there but that is about it, okay so maybe i have murdered a few dandelions with the lawn-mower but those were accidents, don't judge me! So not only did i want to murder her in the most grotesque way, i was about to stop reading this book because of her. Let me get one thing said, well it will turn into about a 100 but here we go

My personal philosophy: 1) don't trust cheaters, if they cheat on you its for a reason, and obviously they don't love you as they claim to do (i swear this has nothing to do with Ry and Jos i will explain this has a point i am not just being weird) 2) being friends with someone, taking comfort from the opposite sex who is not your boyfriend is not cheating, its being a friend when you have no one else c) STOP BEING SUCH AN ASSHOLE JOS. (which she did i swear i will get to that)

Liked my personal philosophy? cool! now to explain: The first half of the freaking book all Jos does is complain complain complain, she doesn't even try to get help, when someone, cough Ilyan cough tries to comfort her she cringes, seriously i am not freaking kidding you she cringes. all of the time, you will read it at least once a page (i swear i do love you Rebecca bear with me!) and i was going to murder her because Ilyan was being perfect. And i will get to him in a moment. But let me finish Jos, while i understand that she didn't want to "betray" Ryland, i totes respect her for it here is the thing, you needed to stop after Ry tried to kill you. yeah. remember how he did that at the end of the first book? but nope you remain loyal which is about the only worthy trait you had in the first half of the book that didn't make me want to murder you in your sleep. So as much, and i know its a struggle believe me, it gets better, so so so so so very much better. and keep with it is so so so so so so so worth it!

Ilyan: *insert loving sigh and bats eyelashes like a schoolgirl* HOW CAN ONE CHARACTER BE SO TRAGICALLY PERFECT? BEAUTIFUL? MY EVERYTHING? did i just say my......awkward. but seriously okay this is how i saw this coming into this book. We knew about the past between Jos and Ry but we experienced with Ilyan if you don't have even a smudge of love for him this might not be the series for you because i am determine to make sure its all about Ilyan and make him our number one man, and the story to be all about him. He was another big reason i pushed on in the first half of the book. while i guessed his "big secret" i was still heartbroken for him all around. He omgosh i don't, i can't. He is everything i am serious and I literally felt my heart break a couple of times because of his perfection of a man. I usually don't go for blondes but bitc...i mean ladies back the frack off this man is taken! He made the book so very worth it in my opinion...well there were a lot of good aspects about this book but I am sorry the first half Jos kind of ruined things for me, but i promise promise promise it gets better and you do love her again near the end.

I forgot to mention this before. Another reason I love Ilyan over Ryland any day of the week is because I honest to God believe that he believes in her with all his heart, he doesn't feel the need to give her a crutch or save her from herself, he allows her to grow and become her own person...even though she still has growing to do. While Ryland tries to do everything for her.

Ryland (Ry): *glares at and i stick out my tongue at you sir!* For reals! I didn't have the same love for him as i did in the first book he was painted in such a new light in this book, and i understand i really do, he is under his father's power he is not himself blah blah blah, don't try to make me team Ry cause i will hurt you! seriously :| that is my serious face! be aware! i can't talk about him too much, you know spoilers....

so the ending, NOT.NICE. THANK.GOD.THE.NEXT.ONE.IS.OUT.OR.I.WOULD.GO.IN.SANE.INSANE. and i am not going to kill Jos anymore! yay!

soooooooooo if you wanted to know my thoughts on the first book there is a very easy way to do it! its all on this lovely little thing called a blog....and i read a lot of indie authors, and i love them they are absolute peaches! so you should come check out some of this fantastic finds after you finish this and the next one! http://theviolethourbookreviews.wordp...

This series continues to be amazing and original, but the waiting was killing me. That was my huge problem with the first half of this book. I'm a naturally curious person, so when Ilyan insists on the "right time" to tell her everything I start out thinking," Sure, just a few more pages and the right time will be upon us". I was wrong. According to my iPad the few hundred pages turned into almost 700 out of the 1746 paged book. I was almost going through the roof at the point in the book.

My opinion still stands according to the first novel in this series. My opinion of a few characters however have morphed somewhat. Unfortunately this book consists of a love triangle. This got hinted at in the first novel and developed a little more in the second. I can now say I am fully Team Ilyan. By my first review (if you haven't read it click here) you can tell that I didn't even go into detail on the character that was Ilyan. This novel did a complete 180° on Ilyan's character in my head and Ryland somehow went from wholesome love interest to a complete wackjob in the blink of an eye.

Joclyn as a character was strange at times. One moment she's strong as ever and can take the world and the next she doesn't listen to anyone and something mind blowing happens. She complained a lot, though (which got annoying....fast). She has magic for heck's sake. If she wants a shower and clean clothes you would assume that she could conjure that up and if she's craving a nice juice cheeseburger I would also assume that she could make that happen as well, but she chose to whine until Ilyan could get out and somehow make it happen.

Throughout the story the author reveals huge pieces to the puzzle that makes this series so out of this world. They consist of a glance at Ryland's real personality and a background story on how Ilyan would come to meet Joclyn and what his role would be when that happened.

The ending did make up for the slow start. I will admit that I was in total shock by how well crafted and thought out the ending was. I wasn't expecting anything along those lines. This book kept me guessing through out it's entirety.

Favorite Quotes:

"I threw an air conditioner at him. Isn't that enough?".

"Really? I mean, you should be. You haven't made us very happy, you know - escaping from Edmund's trap yet again, surviving no matter how hard we try to kill you. It's not fair".

"You know, I'm chilling in a beautiful Italian village, dressed like a hobo, forcing down strange food, and waiting for your sister - who is, in a strange way, my stepmother - with hopes of begging her to save my boyfriend".

Wow, where to even start? I've had to stop and marinate on this book for a few days. This book is absolutely amazing. It could possibly become an unhealthy obsession! Can I give it 10 stars?

I really liked (almost loved) Kiss of Fire, but I had a couple little hang-up's with that one I wish had been a little different. Not so with Eyes of Ember...perfection! Aside from a few editing errors, that I am more than willing to overlook, this is the best book I've read in 2013.

Eyes of Ember is one of those books that takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions. I went from being disturbed to hopeful, sad to giddy with happiness, only to arrive at the most wretched heartbreak before *sigh* contentedness. This book is packed with storyline. There is lots of action, love, planning and training (of the supernatural variety), and long lines of character history. I found myself just as intrigued with some of the supporting characters as I was with the main characters. I want to know their stories as well!

This is most definitely a book that NEEDS to be reread. It was amazing how much clicked into place after reading it a second time. I had forgotten little details and found myself saying "Ohhhh" aloud. It even changed my whole take on Kiss of Fire. After reading this book, I completely understood why some things were left the way they were. It just made the second book that much better (so sorry for second guessing you Ms. Ethington). It also showed me just how talented Rebecca Ethington is at weaving an intricate, fascinating story. I am in AWE of her ability. I will be keeping an eye out for anything that comes from her brilliant imagination!

Of course, I can NOT leave this review without (screaming from the rooftop) ILYAN! His character is one of the things that sucked me into the world of magic in Kiss of Fire. I just loved him, and I knew that there was so much more to him. I was so happy to peel away all his layers during Eyes of Ember, but now I have this heavy dread that things may not work out how my happy little heart is so hoping that they do!

There is so much about this book to love. If this wasn't downloaded on my Kindle, it would be dog eared, marked, and the spine flat from my overuse. As it is, almost the entire thing is in yellow highlight on my Kindle. I could go into specifics and quotes for hours, but I don't want to ruin a single moment of the adventure for anyone. Make sure you have a free block of time because you won't want to put this one down!

Okay so I wasn't all that impressed with the direction this story went. I like Ilyan, I really do, but I just didn't see Joclyn ending up with him. I'm not really a "Team" anyone, I can't stand love triangles and to be honest they tend to put me off to continuing a series. I read this book, because at the end of the first I didn't really think that there would be a triangle (or maybe I just sincerely hoped there wouldn't be). I do, however, tend to like the first love interest unless something drastic occurs that changes that. But like I said, I tend to stop reading a series if a love triangle appears like it is going to be a major, continuous part of it. Warning- some spoilers ahead!

Now maybe I read this wrong, but from what I took from the vision about her life and prophecy was that they would not end up together, at least not romantically. When I read that part of the book, I read it as- Ilyan would have romantic love for her and help her in her journey, protect her, and so on, but that he could never have her because she would love another. Joclyn would love him and he would be by her side, but it would never be a romantic love because another (Ryland or maybe someone else) would have her heart. To be honest, the direction the story went, with Joclyn completely fearing Ryland and even declaring her desire to kill him at the very end, kind of disgusted me. It was really upsetting to see that occur after how hard Rylandd fought for her basically his whole life. Even before he knew about her having the mark and powers, he fought his father to keep her safe and protect her; and then he fought even harder after he learned of her mark. I can honestly say that I'm not even sure if I am going to read the third book or any after that, I wasn't impressed with this book's ending. I hope that the story ends up taking a new direction somehow bringing Joclyn and Ryland back together; and if not, I hope that there ends up being a good ending for Ryland.

Title: Scorched Treachery
Series: Imdalind Series Book #3
Author: Rebecca Ethington
Rating: A

Review: Wow!...Rebecca Ethington never ceases to surprise me! After being so amazed by the first two books in this series, I picked this one up without hesitation, and without even reading anything about it. I have to confess though that I was a bit leery of it when I realized she would be writing it a little differently. Instead of pushing forward with the series, this one instead goes over most of the same events from Eyes of Ember - just told from a different point of view. This time, we get to see things from Wyn and Ilyan's perspective. I had an initial moment of complete turn-off, but I figured I would give it a chance. Not only because I have yet to be disappointed by this offer, but because if you read Rebecca's brief explanation at the introduction to the book, you'll see why she chose to write it that way. And when she explains how events happen in this one that are important when it comes to the next book - and it won't be re-capped in the next one - that clinched it for me. Regardless, let me tell you, it totally works for this book!
I actually found it was interesting to read things from the other character's viewpoint - especially Ilyan's. I have loved his character from his very first page, and I loved seeing things through his eyes. Reading this one is totally worth it! But honestly, if you are a fan of the series, you simply can't miss it! Not shouldn't, but can't. There are events that happen in this one that are important to the overall storyline, questions that are answered, and so much build-up for the next installment that you just have to read it!
The bad news is Book #4 in the series is being delayed...:( However, from now until December 12th you can grab Eyes of Ember (Book #2) and Scorched Treachery each for only .99 each!

Wow. Just Wow.

The first book in this series (The Kiss of Fire) was good, it was an easy read that had a lot of action and romance and really awesome magic and all the shit that a paranormal and fantasy lover like myself could ask for. But Eyes of Ember....

It just blew me away.

This book (I can hardly find words to describe it)had everything a good series needs. Love, desire, action, terror, and crippling betrayal. Joclyn is an amazing protagonist, though I can't say I can add her to kick-ass yet because she has some serious ass to kick before I can do that (Maybe by the next book), she's powerful, generally has her priorities straight--unlike a lot of other contemporary heroines who the authors try to make too normal--and she has a balance of still-a-teenager personality.
I'm not even going to get into gushing (because that is sure as hell what it's going to be) about Ilyan, nor am I going to bitch about Ryland (Because that would get me into the next book a bit and I don't want to spoil anything)

I'm trying really hard not to add too many spoilers in this because this series is a must-read. Seriously. Anyone who likes paranormal, or even fantasy, read the series.

Rating: 5 stars. Again, this book had me hooked from the beginning.

So far this is the BEST series I've read ALL FLIPPIN YEAR!! The story went in a whole new direction that I never expected and I LOVED IT! Yes, there is a love triangle, and yes I loved it and this book has changed me as a reader. I haven't loved a series this much since that time I read the whole Twilight series in a week! Yeah...I'm rambling but if you take anything away from this review it's that THIS WHOLE FREAKIN SERIES IS AMAZING...keep you up all night, can't get it off my mind kind of amazing!!

The whole plot of this book is non-stop action. I clutched my Kindle as I was reading hoping and praying (and spewing a few choice words) as I was reading. I devoured all 380 pages of this story so quickly because IT WAS JUST THAT GREAT!

Favorite things:

1. Ilyan - I didn't think it was possible but yeah I'm Team Ilyan! ❤
2. Pacing - Edge of your seat pacing which worked perfect for the story.
3. The Worldbuilding - It's even more in depth in this story, I loved all of the details!

Well... I'm off to read book three Scorched Treachery!

Wow. That was some book. I honestly wasn't expecting this turn of events because if you read the first book, it's a complete opposite of what Eyes of Ember brings! So much intensity and action, I didn't know what to expect next. & Ilyan???? -drool- Please please please let me have some Ilyan in my life! I've always been sucker for romantic tenstion and the whole breath-holding action and the author nailed it!

I don't often say that a second or third book in a series is better than the first (with the exception of hunger games) but when I say that this book was truly amazing I mean it. I seriously started it at 9:00 at night and stayed awake until 3:00 in the morning just to finish it. Once again I say the story line is phenomenal (just like with the first one) and every single character introduced or reintroduced is described so perfectly its scary. I felt like the whole time I was reading this book that I was actually there. The ending was like holy shit I did not see that coming After the first one I was in love with Ilyan and my love for him grew 100 times that in this second book in the series. I cannot wait until July 10th to get the third one and will probably be staying up all night to finish that one as well.

I just finished reading and I must say I'm heartbroken. I really wanted everything to work out with Jos and Ry. I know he's been magically beaten and all but I wanted her to be able to nurse him back. They had a connection before they even kissed for Christ's sake! That has to mean something?!? Her last words to kill Ryland really ripped me apart. I really hope she gets out of that crazed state of mind and gets back to where it all began with Ryland. :-(

The reason why I disliked this book so much is that the thought of a romance with an age difference of 1000 years is gross. This is cradle snatching on steroids. Age and experience and all that junk really do matter. For me as a 17 year old, the thought of dating a 14 year old is gross. In your teenage years, 3 years is a lot. Now, multiply that difference by about 333. That's how incredibly gross this is.

This one is so much better than the first in the series (in my opinion). I loved it, and I'm now invested in these characters. So good! I love Ilyan, and hope for a happy ending for he and Jocylyn. I'm glad she finally got rid of the stupid hoodie as well. On to book 3!

If I read the word "uncomfortable " from Jos I will pull my hair out..fu** this girl is seriously annoying..everything and I mean EVERYTHING and everyone makes her feel "uncomfortable" the author needs a new adj and she needs it bad..

Book 2 was amazing!

I am in love with this series. The 2nd book was just as amazing as the first. I could not predict what was going to happen. Wow, wow and wow. I am now off to buy book 3.

I enjoyed this so much I've just bought the rest of the series in expectation that the other books will be as good, and so that I have them ready to go when I finish the next in the series.
