Patty is a reluctant retiree in a Florida Mobile Home and RV Park. Socially awkward, she tries to reshape her new life with an ever-changing array of neighbors. Ever-changing, you say? Maybe if they would quit dying on her... Friends are hard for Patty; did she just point the newest murder investigation straight at her best friend? Patty HAS to solve it or lose her friend, and maybe her life!
A good read but the main character has gotten nice! Where happened to the grumpy behaviour of the last book gone? A good plot and a nice twist. When a new resident moves in, she is surprised that she too can see ghosts and the two become friends. A possible third to their little group could be the mild mannered woman who tends to feed the strays. However this has to be done in the woods as the self appointed Gestapo of the park have it in for as a woman of loose morals. However the three make an unlikely trio and when her next door neighbour is found dead in the woods the women start nosing round. Especially as the daughter of the wife of the dead man is greedy, unscrupulous and conniving baggage. Now the police seem to think that jewellery has been stolen! Can she uncover what really happened and maybe stop another murder?
I thought the second outing in this delightful cozy mystery series set in a trailer park in Florida was even better than the first. Our reluctant heroine, Patty, is back with friends old and new to help solve another mystery that arises in their neighborhood. I love Patty, a well-meaning but slightly cranky and socially awkward lady of a certain age who is drawn, sometimes against her will, into the doings of her neighbors. The author really brings to life the feel of living in a small community where everybody knows, or wants to know, everyone's business. This is a fun, quick read for lovers of sweet cozy mysteries with quirky characters, humor, and a lot of charm.
