Rate this book
Meg is sure her fate is to be single forever and makes peace with that. Fleeing a troubled relationship, she moves from Virginia to Scotland, destined to live life as a bookworm, happy but alone. Then she meets Kade, a witty carpenter hired to renovate her decrepit cottage. His charms are hard to resist, but jaded Meg is not ready to fall in love again.

While searching through a crate of old books, she finds an old diary penned by Katherine, a young woman from the 1960's. Meg immerses herself into the heartfelt story, intrigued by an idyllic world where romance is innocent, men are chivalrous, and times are simpler. Unbeknownst to Meg, their stories are strangely connected. Fated.

Will she unwrap the mystery that binds them and realign the stars? Is off-limits Kade her soulmate, or will history repeat itself? Can Meg open her heart, or will she surrender her happy ending?

Jennifer is a story-teller, despite the fact that her father told her writing would never pay the bills. Like any pragmatic dad he advised her to find a real career, but as time went on she recognized she had too many stories to tell, adventures to unfold, and characters to bring to life. Maybe she'd always need a day job, but she knew if she didn't write, eventually the cost to her soul would be too high.
She is passionate about writing provocative romance novels, with richly developed characters her readers will fall in love with. She believes a good story is one that stirs up emotion, forcing the reader to root for the protagonist, relating to them long after the last page has been turned.
For several years, she was a ghost-writer for a popular USA Today bestselling author, penning five Amazon top 100 novels under their pen name. This positive experience allowed her to build confidence while honing her skills, with the ultimate goal of publishing her own titles.
She has two published novels, This Ain't No Rom-Com and Fated, but look for more releases in the future. I laughed, cried and cheered the lovers on
Meg has run to Scotland to heal her heart. Made too needed to heal. Great patience, love and destiny are at work here. I loved the plot twists and cheered on the lovers. Past lovers play a part too and it's nice to see karma get her dues. My Scottish ancestors helped with a number of expresses and sentiments. Great first effort Jennifer.

This is must add book to your TBR!!! The chemistry between the characters is electric, and the storytelling keeps the tension high and the pages turning. With multiple storylines that seamlessly weave together, the plot is filled with steamy moments and emotional depth. This book is a five-star read that perfectly balances passion, romance with an unexpected twist, with a satisfying, intertwined conclusion. A must-read for fans of spicy romance!

I absolutely loved this book! I don't give out 5 stars very often. The book has to grab me so much that it makes me want to read it over and over again. I have to have a connection with the characters to want to read it multiple times. This is one of those books.
I love that Meg was able to grow and become her true self after an emotionally abusive relationship. With Kade's help she is able to not only restore her home, but regain her confidence in who she is. Kade has his own past emotionally abusive relationship, and he also learns what it means to be in a healthy relationship from Meg.
They have some bumps along the way, but get a HEA in the end.

Jennifer Vettor is a new author. This is her first published book. I was drawn in by the story and the fact that she is a local author (for me) - one that I will happily look for in the future as I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
The theme of finding new love after leaving a life that was causing her great pain, is a story that resonates with me.
In Fated Meg leaves a poor relationship that strips her of who she is and travels to Scotland to settle in the area her Nana left many years before. She buys a wee house that was also once a book store and bed and breakfast. She makes arrangements to find a carpenter and finds that Kade Campbell is more than handy.... and deliciously handsome to boot. Even as she tries to keep her distance, she finds herself draw to him.
But certain things try to derail their budding romance. The question is will the past leach in a spoil the future or will Meg and Kade find a way to let their hearts soar.
There is also a special connection within the story that I refuse to give away, but let's just say... love can stand the test of time.

3.5- I wish half stars were an option.
Print errors aside (grrr…), the book was enjoyable. It was well written, I liked the characters, and the plot started off strong. However, I found it quite predictable and the climax was rather anticlimactic.
