A cute little book that offers a very quick read, it gives some basic mindfulness tips and relaxation advice with a collection of quotes tying the material together. It has some adorable illustrations but nothing really new in it, so just a very basic read on mindfulness and relaxation.

This came up as a "Librarian’s Pick" on the NLB app. I didn’t think I wanted another self-care book at this moment but the format was simple and easy on the eyes and the illustrations were attractive. A quick read of suggestions on things we can do to improve our physical, mental, spiritual and emotional well-being, peppered with quotes from celebrities and historical figures, all of which make a lot of sense. For those who have read similar books before, this serves as a quick reminder on the go, as there are many little things we can do. Gratitude journal, deep breathing exercises, decluttering, short spurts of exercise (even as simple as a walk), massage, giving yourself a new challenge, listing down tasks, drinking tea (!), etc. My favourite take-away from this book: "If you don’t value your time, neither will others" – by Kim Garst, a social media influencer.

A fast and attention-catching book. It provides sufficient advice on self-care and at the same time, there are many good quotes for the taking.

Key Points:
Schedule some alone time
Switch off each day
Knowing when to say no
Having self-compassion
Swap 'should' for 'could'
Repeat positive affirmations
Being 'good enough' is truly good enough
Practice meditation
Breath more deeply
Create a calming bedtime routine
Drinking tea
Learning to be creative - learn a musical instrument or even drawing

Overall, it was a meaningful read.

Quite an average read. I was familiar with most tips given and felt like I had read them in many other books. But one or two tips seemed nice (again, not new). I wasn’t quite happy to see a proverb about how eating less is better because if someone struggling with eating disorders was to be reading this, it would be triggering. It was potentially a two stars but gave it 3 because I did like it overall.

Nobody's perfect, so give yourself credit for everything you're doing right and be kind to yourself when you struggle.

We set the standard for how we went to be treated. Our relationships are a reflection of the relationship we have with ourselves.

Eat lightly, breathe deeply, live moderately.

Health is not about the weight you lose but about the life you gain.

What you put into life is what you get out of it.

As a newcomer in this mindfulness thingy I think this book is a great start for it. With simple words and clear instructions on what to do this one will be a nice beginners guide to self - care. Although I do agree that this book wrote all the stuffs that we know about self - care, and not to mention that most of them are basics, it is still a great one to remind us about the things that we already knew.

Cute illustrations. Lots of good quotes that will motivate you to put your phone on airplane mode and genuinely take some time to yourself, maybe light up a scented candle and run yourself a warm bath. I feel like the self-care ideas would not be novel for some of you, given that the internet exists and the idea of self-care has been promoted excessively in the last recent years, but it's the motivation that counts, no? Reading this feels like a form of self-care in itself.

I found the advices quite basic and well known already in our time, its like when you ask someone " hey any idea how to take care of your self? " so they replay, " oh, that, its easy! Just eat well and breath! "
Or you can find them in any social media advice page or account, overall nothing special.

This is a quick little book with some beautiful ideas...Although it could be read in an hour, I enjoyed spreading it out over months, only reading 1 or pages every day or so. I took many notes in the back as well so I now have a quick list of my favorite ideas and quotes. This is a book I could definitely return to at a later date and read again.

An easy read that I would often read a few pages of before bed or before starting my day. The ideas are mostly those we know already, but encourages you to give yourself permission to feel, want, & do these things.
