Going from a shunned mate to top pack female… Has never been more satisfying. Born human and raised among wolves, I rank below the omega. Way below. But I’m also the pack docto,r so I’m pretty much trash they can’t throw out.
They need me to patch up their wounds, keep their secrets, and warm their beds. But I’m not marriage material.
At least that’s what Nic—my ex-boyfriend and our pack’s future leader—said before he offered me up for grabs and walked away from the pack. Now, he’s back and ready to pick a shifter wife and make some babies so he can take over the pack…without me.
Nope. Not happening. Nic belongs to me. There’s only one problem: shifters can’t get humans pregnant. And Nic needs an heir.
So…I just need to get Nic hooked on me, overcome Mother Nature, stop a pack war, and convince everyone in the shifter world to accept our baby as the rightful next-in-line alpha king of our pack.
Hey, every girl needs a challenge, right?
⚠ This book contains scenes that will make you blush (and re-read) but don’t expect a sweet fairy-tale romance. In the Shifter World, only the strong survive. Contains dark fantasy aspects.

I'm an urban fantasy/paranormal romance author and a storyteller of gritty suspense and thrillers. The result is a sexy, unforgettable love story with a plot that will have you on the edge of your seat until the very last page.
Where do I even start? I’m a sucker for a good shifter novel. If I could have my way, then my significant other would be a were-lion. This could be why I’m still single though, but hey….a girl can dream right?
Give me a blurb with a were-shifter in the mix and add a love story and I’m putty in your hands. 80% of having me love the book is already accomplished, all you have to do now is make it an interesting story with good writing and I’m a fan. I don’t ask for much, but it seems I asked for too much from this one and I was left terribly disappointed. After reading this, I didn’t want a were-anything in my life, especially not a wolf. I blame the likes of Ilona Andrews (who can even make me lust after a were-hyena for goodness sake), Laura K. Hamilton in her earlier novels and Patricia Briggs – all of whom (noted but not excluded to) have made me a were-lover. I think if you are going to jump on the Urban Fantasy/Paranormal author train, you need to read what others have delivered and either go as big (if not bigger) or go home.
As I have ALWAYS said with books that I give less than stellar ratings to, this in no way reflects my feelings toward the author. Writing a book is hard work, emotional and often times personal and I’m merely just one voice in the crowd of millions that will read and review this book, it just so happens that my review on this one isn’t glowing. It will not stop me from reading any future titles from this author and I hope that readers will read this one and judge it for themselves, but in the business of reading and reviewing books, I need to be honest and tell it how I feel it.
I didn’t immediately start off disliking this book, it was actually toward about the 60% mark that I found myself really done with the plot and storyline and ready to just get to the end and mark it off as a read book. Contrary to popular belief, throwing a bunch of intense humping and hot guys into a book is not going to make me like it. I do want some substance and a main heroine that I can cheer for. This book gave me a lot of the former and a lot less of the later and try as I might to enjoy it, I just didn’t.
By the end, I really didn’t like our main character, she was just too selfish and annoying, it really bothered me and the side cast of characters….I could have done without the lot of them and the additional questions/drama they brought with their appearance. The story itself was appealing, but the execution and everything else is what failed in my opinion. I don’t know if maybe a better editor would have made a difference, but I know it wouldn’t have hurt. Some of the inconsistencies within the story and character actions bugged me and if those details had been resolved before my reading this; that might have made all the difference in the world.
Overall, no, this is not a book I recommend, there are just so many better ones out there to be read. I will always try to point out the good in a book though before I end my reviews and the good in this, Ms. Corrigan does offer an interesting take on the were/shifter theory. It wasn't one that I had read before and with all the were/shifter books out there, that is pretty impressive.
Happy reading, until next time book nerds…
I would like to thank NetGalley and Samhain Publishing for the ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review.
I tend to like my books quite spicy - and I used to think the more sex the better. Well, I’ve been proven wrong, and in a werewolf novel to boot. Although the sex scenes in BRIDGED BY LOVE were well written, I really could have done with way less of them. By the end of the book, I was skipping pages of erections and orgasms - more story, please! This title really hedges the line between paranormal romance and paranormal erotica, which isn't always bad thing; if there is enough plot and mystery to support the erotica, go for it. This one just misses the mark.
The main characters, Riley and Nic, could have both had more depth. I feel like their relationship had little motivation other than addiction to each other’s bodies. And for two intelligent people who know that their union could destroy their pack, their family, they constantly acted like two rabbits in heat whenever they were in the same room together.
The pack dynamic was interesting, with the idea of a Pack Spirit that inhabits the Alpha, that joins the pack together was novel. The main stumbling block to Nic and Riley being together is this pack spirit, which must inhabit the Alpha, and if he refuses it, the other werewolves will fight to the death for it. Nic is trying to prevent their neighbours and cousins from killing each other.
The idea that a werewolf's inner wolf doesn't agree with the choice of mate was new too. Usually in these books, the animal recognizes the mate before the human does, pushing the couple together. In this case, Nic’s wolf was attached to Riley, but only as far as she was a weak member of his pack that needed protection.
Other things were jarring too: characters who had been against the union suddengly changing their tune, and the super obvious setups for the next two books which just felt tacked on there.
If BRIDGED BY LOVE had spent a few more pages making the characters believable and less on the multiple “this is the last time we will be together so let’s have sex” scenes, I would have like this book better.
I love were shifter reads, they are some of my favorite. This book was not an exception. I liked the new take on the shifter/human relationships. Nic was a true alpha and was doing all he could for pack against his emotions. And to have the man and wolf not completely agree made everything harder on him but yet he showed his true Alpha nature. Riley was a perfect human to belong with a wolf pack. She knew her place but was never a push over. She was beautiful and would do whatever necessary for the pack against her own feelings and nature as well. When these 2 come together? What can you expect when a human at the bottom of the pack and the top alpha male come together? EXPLOSIONS in the bedroom. The sexy scenes were soo steamy I had to wipe off the kindle screen. This was a good book and can be read on it’s own.
Bridged by Love is book one in a new series Kagan Wolves by Nancy Corrigan.
I enjoyed Bridged by Love. The story is appealing, but I felt like it could have been executed better. I did though end up reading this in one sitting and could not put it down, but I may have read it a little too fast.
I found it to be a very emotional read especially with Nic and Riley’s feelings and the things they end up doing to each other. I was heartbroken and frustrated with these two. Which brings into play the authors new spine on the shifter mentality. It’s an interesting take and one that I have not read before with all the shifter books out there. This new twist added to the angst in the romance. These two have a history and why Nic comes home is not for Riley, but to accept his place as Alpha and take a shifter mate even though Nic loves Riley. His wolf sees her as nothing more then week and the animals instinct is to mate and human/shifter mattings are infertile, so what can Riley do to win the wolves respect?
A few things bothered me: Riley was very headstrong in her love for Nic, but I did not like that she tolerated his back and forth for so long. This book has a lot of sex scenes (nothing wrong with that), but I felt like it was too much and it took away from building the relationship back. I also ended up not caring for the side story/characters. What is up with Nic’s sister Hannah? Really, I don’t think that needed to be in there or maybe it needed to be flushed out more. The secondary characters just added unnecessary drama and questions I could have dealt without. Last, I was confused with the epilogue and the combination of who’s DNA the kid has that Riley is caring. Is it Nic’s and another female shifters or is it Nic’s and Riley’s? We get some mention about different treatments to combat the infertile matings, but it was unclear.
Bridged by Love was a good read and I plan on reading more from Ms. Corrigan.

Looks like Nancy Corrigan is out to bring those sexy alpha shifters in to the 21st century, snapping and snarling or not with a fresh attitude on pack versus forbidden love. Bridged by Love is a sometimes frustrating, angst-filled tale of two lovers, duty to the pack and duty to the heart, with no in-between, one or the other, period.
Long ago Nic and Riley were young and in love, life and circumstances pulled them apart, but now Riley and Nic are brought together again, she the human doctor to shifters in secret, a veterinarian to the world, he the future alpha of his pack when his father can no longer lead. Law number one: the pack leader MUST take a shifter mate, make a baby. Nic wants Riley, but she can only be his sideline plaything. Together they struggle to come to terms, or find a way around this law as their emotional and physical need for each other are expressed dancing in the sheets. As the pack is currently weakening, threats from the outside may force Nic’s hand while breaking his heart and there is no end to the challenges for leader.
Nancy Corrigan has a new take on shifters, being an alpha, facing the duties of an alpha and sacred pack law. Riley is one tough cookie to have to face their bleak future and making sure she gets what she wants right now, no strings attached, except for those painful heartstrings. Nic brings the angst, caught between his heart and his duty while satellite characters have their own agendas, some good, some sneaky and some dangerous.
We all know shifters are sexual beings and there is no shortage of that between Nic and Riley as they grasp for the time they have in reckless abandon, although I would have liked to see more time for the development of characters that seem to hold a pivotal place in their future. I’m guessing Nancy Corrigan has a plan we can’t see and she has cleverly set the hook, ready to reel us in with more in this new series!
I received an ARC edition from Nancy Corrigan in exchange for my honest review.

Corrigan’s twist on alphas & shifters in general gives this novel a fresh feel. All the intensity we’ve come to love in shifter romances is still there, yet the uniqueness of their interactions makes it really stand out. Corrigan mixes hot sex with pack relations in an intricate way that kept me coming back for more.
The battle of wills between the main characters really stood out for me. Not only was this between each other, but within themselves, and within the pack as a whole. Nic’s duty clashes with his and Riley’s desires in a very explosive manner. Corrigan develops them on multiple levels, giving you a clear look into who they are and where they’re coming from. I also appreciate how Corrigan begins to develop the supporting cast of the series here. We don’t necessarily get to know them in-depth as individuals, but their loyalties and agendas definitely become apparent. They definitely draw you deeper into the series.
This was a very intriguing and captivating start to Corrigan’s new series. It was a hot & spicy read that I thoroughly enjoyed and has left me bated for the sequel.
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
Nothing says true love like an Alpha shifter willing to sacrifice EVERYTHING for the human he’s fallen in love with. I was pulled into this read from the opening chapter and it didn’t disappoint.
Nic is the soon to be leader of his pack after his father’s future is tested. The only issue is that he has to mate in order to hold the position. Unfortunately, the ONE person he’s actually in love with, his wolf doesn’t want.
Riley is the pack doctor and has become an honorary pack member even though she’s human. Although she’s spent the last four years trying to forget about Nic, it’s apparent from their first encounter, that neither one has done much forgetting.
This is a great read about love vs. power. Not only from a shifter’s point of view, but I related to life. Do you sacrifice what you want and need because of an obligation? Do you walk away from the one thing you know completes you because you think you know what’s best for everyone else? There were good lessons in this and I’m happy I read them.
This read was entertaining; not only through the story line, but the sex scenes were HAWT!!!! I totally recommend this. When’s the next one releasing? I’m chomping at the bit!!!!!!!!
*I received this book from the Author in exchange for my honest opinion.
Torn between following his head or his heart, Nic Kagan’s running out of time to make the right decision and either decision may break something inside him in this thrilling paranormal romance.
To protect the pack, Nic must accept his role as alpha but his wolf won’t accept a weak non-shifter as his mate but with rival threats mounting Nic realizes he can’t turn his back on Riley and the reader can’t help but get drawn into the story as duty and love tear into Riley and Nic’s heart with gut wrenching emotions flowing from every page. The red hot desire between Nic and Riley certainly isn’t in question and the sex scenes prove there is plenty of scorching passion but the relationship is causing Nic an inner struggle from hell as his wolf fights him every step of the way. These strong compelling characters capture the heart right along with grabbing the reader’s attention while the fast paced, smooth flowing plot thrills readers with suspense, excitement, passion and a darker side to the shifter instincts.
Extreme tension builds inside the pack as time runs out for Nic and Riley because he’ll have to make the right choice soon and the threats from a rival pack is knocking at the boundaries placing Riley’s life on the line adding lots of excitement and expectation while some surprising twists keeps readers guessing. Well written scenes and details paint vivid images that bring the story to life and make it easy for the reader to become immersed in the story while the intriguing events ensure that there is never a dull moment.
Once again, Nancy Corrigan has created a fascinating world with some interesting and different elements that add a whole new facet to the shifter world and while a little on the darker side is full of passion and sexy characters that ensure the reader will come back for more…I know I can’t wait to visit the Kagan wolves again.

Wow, that was truly amazing, though this book will take you on an emotional roller coaster. You will feel the hopelessness that Nic and Riley are going through but among that you will see this spark of hope from time to time. One minute your heart strings will be pulled for Riley and the other minute it will totally break for Nic. There was times you will want to reach in the book and shake Nic even though I understood the crossroad he was at. You will also want to reach and and smack his wolf’s nose but I respected his wolf though the Nic and his wolf were at war. I understood what his wolf needs. No his wolf will not need what you think he needs but sorry you will have to read the book to find out. Trust me all will be revealed and is totally understandable.
My heart truly broke for Nic and Riley. Here they were so in love but it seemed love was not enough. Riley even though she was raised by the wolf pack she was human. Nic was destine to be an Alpha wolf. He needed to mate with a shifter wolf so that she could bare his young. I can not imagine that sort of pain. To be in love with a woman knowing you can not have her, knowing you must mate with a shifter wolf and give a woman you do not love part of your soul along with a child. To top that off Nic’s wolf rejected Riley. This had to be ripping Nic into. I imagine a piece of him died each day that he thought of his destiny and how he would have to live without Riley. He was destine to be in a loveless relationship.
The Tanner pack started causing problems. Of course when did the Tanner pack not cause problems. It appeared there was going to be a pack war if they were not careful.
Nic’s sister Hannah is truly amazing. I have to wonder what all was going through her mind. There are parts of here that is truly a mystery. The one thing for sure was she loved Riley and she loved her brother Nic and wanted them to truly be happy. You will just fall in love with Hannah in this book.
Marie Tanner, all I will say about her was wow I did not see that coming. As far as Chris and John I have to say why, why, why… You will have to read the book to find out more on those situations.
This is a story will worth reading. You will see how love will find away. How in the darkness there is light at the end of the tunnel and hope will bloom. Thank god for the Kagan Pack Angel.
If you are stuck between a rock and hard place then you know exactly where Nic Kagan found himself. He’s destined to be the leader of his pack and with that comes very specific responsibilities. Obligations. Despite what he may want or feel he must always choose what’s best for his pack. Riley, despite being adopted by his pack, was still human and not someone that that would be accepted as a suitable alpha mate. Just try convincing both Nic and Riley’s hearts of that…
This is the second book in the series I’ve read and the emotions and feels were just what I was hoping for! This is a full-length story and allowed me to get to delve deeper into the characters to feel the roller coaster ride that was Nic and Riley’s relationship. There is miscommunication and thoughts left unsaid which caused even more pain and heartache for them both. Not that I want to feel their pain but I do. I did. I couldn’t help it as the author found the right notes to tug at my heartstrings…
“Nothing was worth the loss of his angel or his heaven.”
There is drama and betrayal, and all things hot and steamy as Nic and Riley battle the path laid out for them and the people who didn’t want to change it. After a rocky start in the early short story, I am all in for more of these shifters’ stories! -Diane, 4 Stars
In book 1 of the Kagan Wolves series, we meet Nic and Riley. Nic is the alpha's son, primed to take over as Alpha when his father steps down. Riley is an honorary pack member as she is wholly human. She is also the Pack's Doctor, although she will treat any shifter that turns up.
I loved the twist in this book - that Nic the human loved and wanted Riley, but Nic the wolf saw her as weak because she couldn't give him pups! The frustration felt by Nic was tangible as you read through. Riley is a strong character and I honestly don't know if I could do what she did! I think I would have run at the first opportunity, but that's why the book isn't about me! lol
I enjoyed seeing Sean and Jenna again, and how they both helped Riley and Nic. This is what friends do for each other, even if you don't always agree with their decisions.
Very well written, with no editing or grammatical errors that I found, this was a wonderful full-length read into the world of the Kagan Wolves. Definitely recommended.

Bridged by Love continues the story of the Kagan wolves. In this book we see Nic who is still at a crossroads in his life as he deals with the repercussions of loving the human pack doctor, Riley. He feels that his inner "wolf" - half of him - will not accept "a weak non-shifter female" as his mate. His reasoning: Even though he loved Riley with everything he has, he still feels their love couldn't work in the world they lived in. As Alpha pack leader he needed to produce an heir and human-shifter matings were sterile. Riley on the otherhand felt that there was no greater strength as love and fights for Nic and their relationship.
What I liked about this book was the idea that even though there was a soul-scorching love between the couple that couldn't be denied, it was Riley (the "weaker" human) who showed Nic that their love was stronger than anything in this world, even the stigma of a human and wolf mating. It was sexy and also angsty as all hell. I really loved that I was on edge the whole time, wondering if Nic would come to his senses.
I absolutely can't wait for more books in this series! ~ Ratula, 4 stars
From the Day Nic Kagan was born his future was determined. He would take a mate have kids and take over the pack.
Just one problem. Nic has already given his heart to someone, but his wolf wants nothing to do with her, if he follows his desires he will hurt her, if he follows his heart the pack is doomed, what can one poor man and wolf do.?
Riley, the pack's human doctor and honorary member. Is the one that holds his heart. Will they find true happiness, well all I can say is read the book, it's a wonderful and warm story, look forward to more books by Nancy Corrigan
Follow his head, he breaks her heart. Follow his heart… he breaks his pack.
From the moment he was born, Nic Kagan’s future was sealed. He’ll accept a mate, have kids, and eventually take over his father’s role as pack alpha. Though his wolf could tear his heart out for it, he must fight for what he wants before he loses his mate. His pack. Maybe even his sanity.
Mixed reaction...world building was a little weak, hero was a lot weak, I detest when the heroine is doing all the fighting for the relationship...makes hero look like a wuss.
Nic is next alpha in line but his wolf is against taking a human mate

This is different from the Royal cats I’ve been with so far in the series. I think the change to this pack is jarring, and I feel a bit incomplete because there are still cats to hear from. I didn’t invest much into the wolves who’d helped out the Royals but to now focus on the pack with people I don’t even recognize is a bit of a let down.
However, this book was very different. Culture shock, in a way, and it kinda intrigued me. This wasn’t like the Royals where true mates was a heavy thing. They super emphasized on the “humans suck, pick a pack member” rule. It was really frustrating. But it gave more of a reason/excuse to have all the drama too. I do get where the thrill is supposed to come from. Forbidden love, choosing between family and love, or duty and love. Both in this case. I just personally have a hard time being okay with the constant back and forth. I get really nauseous sometimes, to the point of getting annoyed and not enjoying myself.
But there were moments. Great and good, okay and meh. I DID, however, feel weird. Let me explain:
Riley does a lot of “let me prove my love” but she’s almost always going on her knees when she says this, and I always wanna laugh. Like… I don’t know, for some reason, I got the impression that sex was supposed to be their physical expression of love. Which doesn’t add up when they’ve both had sex with others for years. But then like… I don’t know. It’s hard to explain. I got more sex and internal drama from them than anything heartfelt. A lot of guilt and unintentional hurting, but no talking things out or spending time. I don’t think I like that. At least not with what happened for this couple. Super dramas, man, and it was more sex-filled than anything.
Wow, that was truly amazing, though this book will take you on an emotional roller coaster. You will feel the hopelessness that Nic and Riley are going through but among that you will see this spark of hope from time to time. Bridge by Love by Nancy Corrigan is book 5 of her Shifters World: Royal-Kagan series. This book centers around Nice and Riley's love for each other. Nic is next in line to rule the Kagan pack. Riley is the human pack doctor and honorary member of the pack. She happens to also be Nic's true mate but alphas can't mate a human because they need an heir, which a human can't give them. Their story is full of emotion. It carries everything from love, betrayal, family, lies, lust, honor, deceit, and loyalty. With each new book in the series Nancy is rewriting the laws of her shifter world and making the stories deeper and more meaningful. I can't wait to see what's next.
Riley is the local doctor with a unique clientele. Even though Riley is human, she and her brother were raised by the Kagan clan a pack of shifter wolves. Riley has always loved Nic Kagan, but he broke her heart and left her and his clan, now he's back. Nic Kagan has a destiny to fulfill, that is becoming the pride leader of the Kagan clan . The only problem is Nic wants nothing to do with being the leader of his clan. Unfortunately for Nic circumstances forces him into making choices that he never intended to make. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
This is the story of Riley & Nic. Their love is light no other. Even though he is a wolf shifter and she is human. He's next in line for alpha but an Alpha can't mate a human, it's against the rules. No matter what, love conquers all. Their love is a love worth fighting for. This series keeps getting better and better. Can't wait for the next book in this series. Definitely worth 5 stars
Great read!! I stayed frustrate and couldn't put the kindle down. I was fighting for Nic and Riley as much as Riley, but love won out. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a great book that pulls you right into the lives. It's a great series and a must to read.
You will love this one! It is so good, tells you kinda how it all started with the Kagans I loved Riley human is love and a true mate to Nic. They go threw he'll that's for sure and rivaling the Tanner pack is deadly. I don't like the Tanner pack and nic took care of Derik
This is the fifth book in the series, and the second book based on wolf shifters. I thought it was good, but I definitely didn’t feel like there was harmony in the pack, which I feel is needed for a solid pack. However, it was based at a time of change for the pack, maybe the next book will have a greater sense of family pack bonds that I’m hoping for.
He's to follow in his father's footsteps and become alpha but he's in love with a human who won't be able to beat his heir. People and shifters love and die, Ni c is forced to take on the pack when boss father is murdered but finds a way to mate with Riley and she figured out how to give him an heir. The story continues.
Riley and Nic have loved each other for years. The problem is that Nic is the next in line to becoming the Pack leading Alpha and Riley is human. Their relationship is frowned upon. They figure their way through the hardship. This tale shows the reader how heartfelt live can really be!
Another amazing read by Nancy Corrigan. Nic and Riley's story was filled with love, betrayal, suspense, danger and a whole world of old prestigious. This book delved into the Kagan wolf pack who are much more entrenched in the old ways.
