In a little over two months’ time, I, Malcolm Graves, would help spark a revolution. I didn’t know it at the time. But it’s not clear when or how that will happen, or whether it will be through deliberate or inadvertent action ― or inaction ― on Malcolm’s part. I spent most of the novel waiting for the other shoe to drop. And drop it does, although not precisely in the way I had expected. The ending is likely to surprise readers.

It's years into the future, Earth has survived an apocalypse but civilisation and society as we know it is dead. We've evolved and conquered space.
It was definitely fascinating to read a world where humans have evolved beyond Earth.

This book for all it's talk, devolves into a trite plot and contrived shocker - because honestly who did not see that coming?- I think in all honesty, book 1 could have benefitted from having the titanborns as active characters in the book- yes i know from the blurb of book 2 it possibly handles this but why couldn't we have had both views and made up our minds?- as it is, i feel the plot all but delibritely works to shove sympathy for the titans and Malcom Graves down your throats. Aww poor dude he's in an impossible situation what could he have done??
At some point in this book, it felt like Graves character starts going through some frankly fast changes. All of a sudden he's this 'oh so sympathetic, my lawd people are really suffering, i've been blind all my life' person. Dude you've been a collector for freaking years, you have seen the most terrible shit and all of a sudden in the space of what days? you just begin to thaw like that? Miss me with that.
Also can i just say that this book did Ugh!!!!!
Anyways, not a bad book really, i did enjoy it especially when Zhaff came into the scene + it wasn't so sciency that you wouldn't be able to grab what ws been said. This book was almost amazing.
