The third book in the Default Distraction series and I think I love this book more than first two.
So much has happened to Cade in his life that he believes he's not worthy of love he turns to drugs and drink to forget.
Winter came from money but her father lost it so has to work, she helps plan an event at a hotel the the band own. Where she sees Cade again who she once had a relationship with when was younger.
Can they work through their problems and trust each other? Guess you need to read the book to find out x

My first book review of 2020!

Talk about exciting! This book has all the feels. It’s bold, strong characters have passion, secrets and future dreams. Can the drama be left behind? Will a second chance at happiness be too far out of reach?

Roberts’s descriptive writing had me imagining I was at the beautiful Manor watching the drama first hand. The wonder and hope that each page spoke of is a testament to this author’s devotion to these characters. Although this is the third book in the series, I do believe it’s easy to read as a standalone. However, it would be more enjoyable to read in order. (The other books are just as amazing). Cade has a definite end and a wonderful epilogue. You won’t be disappointed!

The next installment of the Default Distraction series, and AS Roberts heats things up.
Cade is the tattooed bad boy drummer for the hottest band. He has the reputation of getting any woman he wants.
Winter has learned to be in control. She has been tasked with opening DD’s new hotel venture. She seemingly has it all together, and the opening is set to go off without a hitch. That is until Cade shows up.
There is a lot of history between Cade and Winter. Will the past bring them together or drive them apart.
There is a lot of heat, mystery and unexpected twists in this story. I did not want to put it down!

Cade was everything I hoped for and more. The third book in the Default Distraction is full of intrigue and had me devouring every word. AS Roberts expertly navigates the reader through Cade and Winter’s past and present and I couldn’t help but fall for both characters.

Their story is dark and emotionally powerful. Their connection although damaged, is not broken and their love is overwhelming and explosive. True Love can be testing, and this a true love story that made my heart burst.

A S Roberts knows you pull at the whole heart strings and this third book in the series doesn’t disappoint. Winter is the strong minded and willed sister of Rafferty in the second book. There is mystery about her past that builds up to this book. The drummer boy of the band is Cade, dirty blond haired Italian boy. Read how their paths cross and combust as the hotel is opened. It’s emotional and expect some twists. The story flows and the characters have substance - in fact plenty. Enjoy!

December 2025 reread -

I'd forgotten just how much Cade and Winter's story is filled with raw emotion. Their shared history, the pasts they struggle to move on from, the connection they can't deny - and the obstacles that come with it - are just a few of the elements that make this story so powerful.

I also love the cameos from other books by A.S. Roberts. They made me immediately want to reread those stories too!

I'm loving spending the holidays with Default Distraction. Rereading this series is absolutely the right decision, and there is still Luke's story to come!



February 2020 review -

Cade is the drummer of world-famous rock group Default Distraction, and his book is the third in this series which I have to admit I am absolutely loving. I have read everything that A.S. Roberts has published and to say her work is outstanding is an understatement….. Cade being no different.

My attention was grabbed from the very first page of this book and was held throughout. Cade is such an incredible person who although is this ‘world famous rock star’ with all the luxuries and privileges that kind of life style brings (including the women), he actually hasn’t had it easy at all. He started to work his way in to my heart when I met him as a young boy and by the end of the book, he had completely stolen it.

Winter is an incredible woman who underneath the tough and confident exterior that she exudes, is someone who also has not had it easy in the past. I really felt for her when I discovered everything that she had been through because not only is she fabulous herself, but she is an incredible friend to Amy and Lauren and she deserves to find her own happiness.

I love the connection that Cade and Winter have; they truly are perfect for each other. However, Cade has his own demons that he needs to put to rest, whilst Winter has a past that she can’t seem to get away from and they both share a history that they struggle to put behind them and move forward from. Whether they do or not you will have to read the book to find out but their journey is one that should not be missed.

One of the things I loved about this this book is that the story is partly written during the time when Cade’s bandmates and Winter’s best friends meet, and I enjoyed the little reminders of what Brody and Rafferty had already gone through in their books - which have already been published and are must reads too!

This book is filled with emotion, heat and drama and I’d recommend it to you without hesitation.

Cade is the third book in the fantastic Default Distraction series by the incredibly talented A.S. Roberts. As with the other two books, this superb Rockstar romance had me completely engrossed right from the get-go. With plenty of emotion, drama, chemistry, passion, romance, intensity, tension, and some suspense- I found it just to riveting to put down.
It could be read as a standalone, but I really recommend reading the other two books first, as they introduce the characters and provide other background information that will really enhance your reading experience of this book- not to mention that they are an incredibly good read, too. The three books also play out, mostly, along the same timeline- so if you have read the other books, you are really getting a ‘fuller’ reading experience.
Cade is the drummer with popular rock band “Default Distraction”. They are riding the charts, and enjoying the life that stardom has afforded them. Cade’s life, especially his past, is quite complicated- and that comes into play through the story.
Winter is Rafferty’s sister (Book #2), whom we met at the beginning of the series. She and Cade have a past, which is exactly where she wants to keep things. She isn’t the same young girl she was then. She is in charge, in control, and used to calling the shots. She’s responsible for DD’s new hotel venture’s grand opening and it is her primary focus. Until Cade shows up. What happens here makes for a riveting read!
I fell in love with Ms. Roberts’ writing, and characters back in book one(Brody) and thought she would be hard pressed to top that book. Then book two released (Rafferty), and I thought the same thing. Lightening can’t strike three times in one place! Can it? Well, if you are A.S. Roberts, it can, and does!!! I was definitely looking forward to Cade’s story since meeting him back in book #1 but wasn’t too sure it would live up to the other two books- I had my hope’s, but a few reservations too. But, I really should have never doubted Ms. Roberts, as this book was EVERYTHING I could have imagined, and more- and EVERYTHING you could ever want from a Rockstar romance. The story really blew me away! It was quite raw in places, and incredibly emotive! I smiled, laughed, teared up, and felt every single word! I wasn’t just reading the words, I was IN the story, living every moment alongside these incredible characters.
As I have said before, Ms. Roberts has a real talent for getting her story and characters to really connect with the reader, pulling them in and captivating them with her words. The energy and tension she’s able to create in her stories, and between the characters, is truly masterful. I can’t imagine anyone reading her stories and not enjoying every word.
Again, the characters are really well written, full developed and so wonderfully endearing. I loved everything about them. I also felt for them as everything unfolds. I was completely invested in them and the outcome of their story.
A word of warning though- be prepared for a bit of a book binge, as you won’t want to put “Cade” down!
Can’t wait to see what Ms. Robert’s has in store for us next!

I was very privileged to receive this as an ARC. I knew I wouldn't be disappointed as I love anything that Andrea turns her hand too. She is such an artistic author! Anyway this story had me laughing and crying all at the same time in parts. Nevertheless it was in-keeping with Brody and Rafferty's stories which you got to read before reading Cade to get the full effect. It was lovely being reminded of some of the things that happened previously but in a different perspective. Be prepared for a few twists and turns though. You'll never know when they're coming. As always superb book.

What an emotional yet amazing story to read.

The third book in the Default Distraction series it had me gripped from the start. Emotional, raw and engaging. I couldn’t put it down.

I loved that it coincided with the previous 2 books from the series so had snippets from those books too.

Winter is a strong woman with an amazing name ( even if I so say myself !!) and Cade is a troubled soul that finally realised what he is missing out on.

I loved every minute of this book and cannot wait for the next instalment from the band.

This book, wow, I really don’t know where to start. I have loved everything this author has written, but this book, this book totally blew me away. The intensity of the storyline, the complexities of the characters and the raw emotions were woven together perfectly. The way this author writes really engages the reader, I personally felt as though I was living and breathing the story as one of them. It was just so easy to get lost in their world.
Cade is the bad boy drummer of the band; he is so alpha and I loved it. He has a great sense of humour and although is the big bad protector, he also wasn’t afraid to show his true emotions. When he loves, he loves hard. Now Winter, she tries so hard to let the world only see what she wants, but that doesn’t work for Cade and I am so glad the man fights for what he wants, because together they are beautiful.
I’ve fallen in love with all the men of DD, but as of now Cade is my number one, looking forward to the next chapter of this series.

Cade by A.S. Roberts a five-star read that beats to its own drum, a drum beat that will make your heartbeat faster. This is number three in the Default Distraction series and they just go from tempo to tempo building the music in your heart. I have loved this series so hard, I love reading but it doesn’t always blend into my real life, I usually keep it separate but every time I wear my DD hoodie I get asked about the band and I explain that they make music that makes your heart sing and when people ask will I have heard of them and I explain only if you read a brilliant book, they look at me funny but I don’t care my love is so great. Cade Morello could have anything he desires and his band mates know that, they know his family and his tastes so you can see why his choices would make for difficult decisions as we all know family make us think twice especially when it may break the family we have built for ourselves. I loved this one, it really sucked you in, I didn’t think I could love anyone harder than Raff, but the tattooed bad boy that is Mr Morello well, he just created a new heartbeat for me to go by. I love the dynamics of this one and the underlying stories that needed to be heard to get the full picture and I love how you et just enough information to know what is happening but not enough to know everything. Well done on a fantabulous read.

I loved reading the story Cade (Default Distraction #3) by A.S. Roberts. It pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until the ending page. I have loved this series from the very first book and the stories just keep getting better. I loved reading about Cade Morello and the woman that he is falling for. Cade is the drummer for Default Distraction and the son of a mafia boss. Being in the band he can have any woman that he wants, the one he wants won’t let her guard down. He is determined that she will be his. There is chemistry between them. Is it all physical or is there more of a connection between them than they think? What does the future hold for them? Read this book to find out. There is a push and pull going on between the two main characters. I grew to care about what happens to them and wanted them to be happy. Will what they have between them work? Cade is a man that is haunted by his past. He finds himself pursuing her and there are times when you see the real man behind what he portrays in public. This is a story that includes some romantic scenes that will have the temperature in the room rising. It also had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. I enjoyed reading about the other characters, many of which are familiar as they have been brought forward from the other books. This is a book and series that you don’t want to miss out on. Highly recommended reading.

Cade is the 3rd book in the awesome Default Distraction series by A.S. Roberts. Each book concentrates on 1 member of the band Default Distraction. The story in each book runs concurrently so there is crossover in each book. You could read each book as a stand-alone but as this is such an awesome series, I’d advise you to read them all and if you do, you may as well read them in order.
Cade Morello is DD’s drummer and his family are mafia. He feels responsible for the suicide of his mother many years previously and now feels that he’s unlovable. Winter Davenport is the younger sister of DD’s guitarist Rafferty and comes with a lot of baggage from her younger years. DD are opening a hotel and Winter is in charge of all planning
I loved Cade and Winter’s story. Both are so broken and neither is looking for a relationship. Winter is still trying to get over a relationship from her past but Cade is determined to get her into his bed and to submit to him. This leads to a lot of very funny interactions between the 2 as Winter does everything to avoid Cade and to push him away.
I actually think that Cade might be my favourite of the DD guys although we still have to get Luke’s story which I can’t wait to read. If it’s anywhere near as good as Cade, then I’m going to love it.
110% recommend this book and the whole series.

Cade is Book 3 in Default Distraction Series by A.S. Roberts. I have yet to read the other books in this series but I imagine they are brilliant just as this one is. Although, it would have been helpful if I had read the other ones so that I would have been caught up on all the other side stories. So, like I always suggest with series, read them from the beginning. However, you could read this one by itself seeing as there was enough background for the full story.
Just like any British novel that I pick up this did not disappoint. It was raw and very emotionally open. Cade, by blood is 3rd generation Mafioso. By talent he is the world’s best band’s drummer and he wants Winter. Winter, by trade is trying to make it in her industry. But, by blood, she is Cade’s band members sister. Cade wants Winter in the most worst way possible. The same goes for Winter, except she doesn’t want to want him. There is such a battle between the two that you can feel the sexual tension! Its truly amazing to watch the relationship unfold between these two characters. It’s steamy and hot and I wish I had someone like Cade chasing after me. If you are into D/s relationships, then this is one for you! I’m really glad I read this book and cannot wait to read the first books and the ones after! Bravo Ms. Roberts!

Cade is the third book in Default Distraction written by Ms. Roberts and it not my first book that I have read by her and it surely won’t be the last. Ms. Roberts blew my mind and she defiantly didn’t disappoint I think this is book is one of her best works. The characters are well written and amazing the love the little quirks these characters have. Do you believe in second chances? Do you believe in that all-consuming love?

Cade is the drummer of Default Distraction, and a Morello, being the son of a mafia boss, I get what I want, when I want it but its not everything, not to him anyway.

Then Winter walks in, she is their lead guitarist's little sister, and she’s all grown up. She refuses to let down my guard again, once was more than enough especially for Cade Morello he is far too much to handle.

Now, Cade must convince her that what’s between them, really exists and its real.
Every touch, every taste, everything. We are the real deal, and he is not going anywhere. Even if it means following her back home to where it all started.

You will need to read this book to find out what happens to Cade and Winter but please read the books in order so you will know what’s going on with the other 3couples.

Default Distraction is a chart-topping band with let me just put this lightly, major success.
We follow drummer and a Morello, son of a Mafia boss, we see Cade expose a more vulnerable side to himself.
We find that Cade Morello is running from something that happened in the life but hasn’t looked back since.
Cade finds himself falling for the band’s lead guitarist’s little sister who has grown up right before his eyes who he thinks will freeze him out.
He has to prove his love for her to show her it’s legit. With every sense of his being, he knows it’s real and he’s in it for the long run. He’s down for the ride no matter where it takes him.
The problem with their love is they’re from two different worlds, two different countries and the world tells them it won’t work and it won’t make sense.
She’s a boss of her own: Keeping her business in check, pushing orders, and living her way on her own time. This is a world she embraces.
The difference with her and Cade is she’s not willing to lay down her guard while he’s putting it all on the table. She believes he’s too much to handle for her.
In this ride of a story, it’s exciting and unpredictable but worth the risk to delve into these character’s lives. Such a fun and interesting read. I couldn’t wait to get through the book just to review it. One of the best books I’ve read in a minute. I highly recommend it!

Wow – just wow! I’m honestly not quite sure where to even begin with this review – this has to be hands down - the best read of 2020 and in fact one of my favourite reads ever. I don’t think I can even find the words to do this book justice! I have read all of the books this author has written and she is one of my all-time favourite authors so I already knew I was going to love it – I’m not sure that I was prepared for just how amazing it was going to be. My emotions were all over the place with this book (I’m not even sure I can blame post pregnancy hormones now seeing’s as the baby is almost 5 months old!) I laughed and I cried, I didn’t know how I would feel from one [age to the next. The characters Cade and Winter were amazing! Cade – yep totally in love with him and I may even have a woman crush on Winter! I loved the two of them together – electric and passion galore!
Cade is a raw emotional read and one that will stay with me for a while – in fact it’s one I cannot wait to read all over again! I 100% recommend you one click this story today!!

Cade (Default Distraction #3) by A.S. Roberts was a great 5 star read.

I was pulled in right from the beginning. Winter is planning an event for her brother's band and when she has a meeting with the band Cade locks in on her. Cade is the drummer of the band who has a past of drugs, alcohol and lots of women. There has always been something between them following a brief relationship when they were younger and he has picked up on Winter's vibes at the meeting, he sees the need in her eyes. Let’s just say he doesn’t let her get very far, he is right there trying to tempt her at every turn. He wants to have her again, to calm the burning attraction between them.

WIll one night be enough or will their past bring them back together?

I loved Cade and the dominant vibe he set off, you could feel the attraction between these two throughout the whole book. Winter was great as well, even with all that she had been through. I love bad boy rocker romances and this one didn’t disappoint. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. I look forward to reading the next book in the series. The third installment of this series is very dear to me. Not only is it an emotional story that tugs at your heart and soul, but it pays homage to my beloved Elvis Presley as well. Cade has it all and why not he is the drummer of Default Distraction. He is the son of an American Mafia family but his brother has turned the family business legit. He has all the women wrapped around his finger but he is missing something that he lost so many years ago. Winter is the sister of Default Distraction band mate, Rafferty. The band is expanding their horizons with the opening of their own hotel chain. They start by opening their first property in England with the help of Winter and her friends Amy and Lauren. When Winter and Cade "bump into each other" memories and fears and anxieties abound. They definitely have chemistry between them but there is also a history that is keeping them apart. Can they see their way through it all, learn to forgive and build a new history? I would say this is undoubtedly the most intense of the stories so far.

Good grief! Cade is every bit the bad boy, good guy, cause some trouble, smoking hot, kill your heart with a look drummer you’d expect in an A S Roberts story! Default Distraction is a chart topping rock band looking for a new chapter in their lives. In this third edition to the story we get to know Cade and more about Winter. Their story is a struggle from the beginning. She’s as stubborn as he is and has long since sworn her heart to isolation. She’s not about to let this cocky drummer get near it but Cade disagrees!
Their chemistry has even the playboy drummer looking twice! Which doesn’t happen to him. Winter is working hard to start a new career with her current project so that she can settle a debt and put her past behind her. A past that keeps showing up just when she is making progress.
Fraught with twists and road blocks theirs is a story to keep you gripping the pages!
This is part of a series but can be read alone. (Although when you meet Rafferty, Brody and Luke you’ll be just as anxious to know them! 🔥🔥🔥)

This is the BEST! I absolutely LOVED this story and this series! I could not put this one down and read it late...late into the night. (Talk about Book hangover). The story ROCKS... HA! no pun intended. Be prepared to go on a soul searching journey. I sat many times with a smile on my face or a tear in my eye. I laughed and dreamed with them. These words drew me into these characters' lives and made me love them. Their camaraderie, their anguish, their promises, their hopes and failures. So just hang on and go for a great ride!

I enjoy how these stories/books are all intertwined and we see multiple scenes from different characters' views in each book. Plus there are many little idiosyncrasies throughout this story (Not counting all the cool passages I have highlighted). I think that is what makes the character more relatable. Another hit for this author!

In the spirit of the book. This whole story makes me play Burning Love by Elvis Presley. (Read it to find out what I’m talking about 😌)

I have really enjoyed reading the Default Distraction series from AS Roberts, but I think this has to be my favorite so far of them all. This is book three but should be able to read as standalones if you really would prefer. I personally would read them in order again as I feel the story progression is better like that.

In this we have the story of Cade and Winter. These two will completely steal your heart away like they very much did with mine. Cade has a bad opinion of himself and the love that he feels he will never be deserving of. He medicates the pain with drugs and alcohol. Winter has money but doesn’t want it after seeing how it has literally destroyed her father. She is working hard to make a name for herself that is separate and that brings her to planning an event at the hotel that Cade’s band owns. The two will cross paths and have a chance to rekindle a spark they ignited years ago and missed. Will they be able to find a way through the future with them together or will they go their separate ways and continue to placate their problems? I can’t wait to see what will come next for Default Distraction!

Wow another highly emotional roller coaster of a story! It is angsty at first but as the story unfolds there is a lot of depth to the feelings of this couple, they have history, although it takes Cade a while to remember. So much pain not the past has reflected on how they dealt before and now, but this couple need each other just as much as the previous couples. Honestly I wanted real life to go do one so I could commit 100%to this book but it wouldn't let me, I had to force myself to put it down very unhappily. Such a fabulous series, the characters are all flawed in one way or another and each are vulnerable and very raw, I love that the men give in to their pain at times and allow the tears to flow, it shows just how strong they are, even Alpha males need to let go sometimes. The sexual content.. oh yes there is some of that as well and boy is it hot in here or what ? Whew! I needed some of what these women were getting. I am hoping that Luke is up next and I have my tissues handy, ready and waiting coz I just know I'm going to need them.

This story has it all. Hot Band, Hot Men and Romance. But I think it has so much more. Things only the readers should read.

Cade is the drummer in the band, Default Distraction. He carries the Morello name which puts him in the family mafia. Something he is not interested in. Afterall he is his father's son, and that is just a part of who Cade is. Will there be that one special girl he doesn't know he wants?
Winter. Well she is her own woman. Strong and is the sister to the guitarist in the Default Distraction band. Put in her own words, Men are for her pleasure and enjoyment nothing more! But can she really stick to that, while Cade is in arms reach.

A.S. Roberts continues to keep your interest peaked, in this the 3rd book in the Default Distraction series. Once I started reading about Cade and Winter I could not put it down. I love how both characters give their view of what is going on in their lives. Everything you, as the reader, needs to know. Yet she keeps you reading on. This book had more than romance, it also had suspense. Cade and Winterrrr take you on a rollercoaster of emotions, anger, thriller, happy, sad and romance. Please start with book 1 so you can catch up on all of the characters in this series. I highly recommend this. Thank You A.S.Roberts!!!!

This is a rock band, second chance romance with an added twist, involving the mafia which makes this an exciting read. I loved the characters and the storyline flowed well. Cade Morello is used to getting what he wants, when he wants it, as not only is he the drummer in chart topping US rock band, Default Distraction but he’s also as a Morello, the son of a mafia boss. However it doesn’t mean he can get anyone he likes and when the guitarist, Rafferty’s little sister appears all grown up Cade is determined to show her he’s serious about their relationship, even if it means returning too the world run by his father that he left behind. However Winter is not convinced they have a future as Cade has already broken her heart once before and that was before he became the bad boy of DD. An emotional rollercoaster of a story and great chemistry between Cade and Winter, kept me turning the pages well into the night. An enjoyable read and I am interested in reading the other books in Roberts’s ‘Default Distraction’ series featuring the other members of the band.

Winter and Cade, I can’t describe the happiness I feel for their second chance romance. Ultimate relationship goals wrapped into a very sweet, emotional read, where the author has truly captivated (this) reader and had me rooting for them from the first few chapters. I absolutely love the way that we get to know the strong bonds that the band members share between them, and very much look forward to reading the previous installments in this series, as well as the next.

This band is not only that, but they are their chosen family. They are there for each other through thick and thin and know each other well enough to know when they are needed, and when they need to leave well enough alone. It’s truly admirable, and something that all, or at least most, yearn to have in their lives. This novel had me picturing the snowy hotel landscape, the love sizzling in the air, and had me crossing my fingers and toes for these two love birds that have been through their fair share of downs, and deserve the highest of highs, alone and together. Thrilled to have more to read by this author, highly recommend!

What can I say about this 3rd book in the Default Distraction series, I thought the first two books were good but this one has just blown them out of the park, this book is an emotionally raw read and will tug hard on the heartstrings, filling you with every emotion, you are gripped with Cade and Winter's story from the start till the end.

Cade is the Drummer with DD, son of a brutal mafia boss who was brought up with cruelty that destroyed him.

Winter is the sister of Rafferty who is also in the band, who wants nothing to do with Cade after he broke her heart years ago, but everywhere she turns he is there teasing her, wanting her.

can they mend the damage caused in the past or will they stay apart......

Congratulations Andrea on a brilliant story, I loved this one from page one. It was nice seeing all the other band members and their friends part of this story....looking forward to Lukes story now.

Cade is book 3 in the Default Distraction Series. This is the only book in the series I have read and I thought it was a great read.
The book had likable characters and the author did a good job describing the scenes for the reader. I thought the book was alittle longer then it needed
to be but that didn’t make me like the book any less.

The main 2 characters In the book have a history. Cade and Winter have
So much chemistry I just kept waiting for something to happen between them.
They both have been hurt In the past and are very guarded. Cade keeps trying to get Winter
to give in to him. He teases her and flirts with her like crazy but, Winter is a much stronger
person I could ever be. Both Cade and Winter want the same thing but Winter makes it
very hard for Cade. Will they be able to overcome their issues and finally give in to what
they both want?
I thought this was a Great Read and recommend it to any reader!

Cade (Default Distraction #3) by A.S. Roberts is an emotionally raw read and will tug hard on the heartstrings. I love this series and Cade & Winters story is one I have been waiting for. I loved the fact that AS has intertwined all three stories around the same time. So when you are reading it you get a snippet and remember the other two couples and their own heartaches and joys.

Winter is still trying to keep it together after being discarded by her first real love and the life she soon found herself in that nearly destroyed her. The last thing she needs is to see the one man who broke her heart, however in order to get back what was stolen, she needs this job and will have to harden her heart once again.

Cades was brought up by a monster, one who destroyed his life. Little did he know it had far more reaching consequences than he knew and destroyed something infinitely more precious.

This story and series is a must to each and everyone’s TBR list.
