Lovestrung made me feel so good. It was such an enjoyable and very hot read thanks to some wonderful characters. Ahhh your first crush. I think we all can remember how it felt. The butterflies and the tingles. Penelope/Pippa is going through that with Ethan but it’s so much more than a crush. He needs a foster family and when he arrives to Pippa’s family she immediately knows he’s something special but also a boy with a traumatic past.
I enjoyed how the reader got to feel and see how they slowly become friends when Ethan moves in. Also how Pippa’s crush evolves to more and that it’s not one sided.
Ethan is thirteen and Pippa’s ten when he moves in. Already at such a young age she sees Ethan and the baggage he carries with him but she doesn’t push. She’s patient. The story has chapters from their past, their first meeting and important encounters, but it primarily focuses on the present. I liked that cause it’s necessary to understand why certain choices were made in the past.
Ethan is one sweet and caring man with Pippa and their family but when he gets Pippa alone all bets are off and his primal needs comes out. Their chemistry is poignant and combustible. Also Pippa doesn’t hold back but shows how much and deep her love for Ethan goes. The author tackles the all important question. Is it just sizzling chemistry, lust and amazing sex and can their friendship survive them taking it to another level? A romantic and intimate relationship. Especially when one of them holds back and doesn’t share a very important secret.
Lovestrung has a wonderful family dynamics thanks to the kickass Montgomery Family. Especially Max and Grandpa captured my heart too. The author Karen Ferry has created a very sexy friends to lovers romance. I swooned and fanned myself but most of all I had a bloody good time.

This was a great story, it was light and sweet with a great romance and a little bit drama but nothing serious!It was easy to read it and it was fun!This is my first book from Karen Ferry and I can't wait to try more books!
This book explores the relationship between Penelope and Ethan over the years from when they were kids to know that they are older and we can see how things are for them.I liked their banter!
If you are looking for a fast paced and steamy read this is perfect !

Penelope e Ethan são melhores amigos desde que o garoto foi morar com sua família quando era adolescente. Eles foram crescendo, Pippa desenvolveu um forte amor platônico pelo rapaz e teve que lidar com a rejeição que surgiu em determinado momento. Mais anos se passaram e o momento que Pippa sempre sonhou surgiu: As olhadas não fraternais de Ethan e uma declaração que iria mudar todo o relacionamento deles.
A história é narrada em primeira pessoa e divide os pontos de vista entre os dois e traz alguns capítulos do passado deles que explica e prepara alguns acontecimentos.
Gostei do livro, é fácil e rápido de ler. Ele traz um tema que sempre gosto de acompanhar, uma mistura de romance proibido e amigos que se apaixonam.
O início é apresentado e nos leva a pensar que será algo mais conflituoso de se resolver, mas é bem simples no desenrolar.
Pippa fica fora por um ano e quando ela retorna Ethan está mais que decidido a consumar seu desejo de sempre. Ele tem também alguns conflitos e segredos para revelar à garota por quem está apaixonado mas na história não ganham peso, não são preocupantes.
Por esse motivo fiquei aguardando um conflito maior e ele não veio.
Não foi um problema mas eu gosto de um drama maior que não encontrei, rs

I felt as though I had won a golden ticket getting the chance to read an early copy of Lovestrung, lol!
Hmm, chocolate...

Come on, peeps - if someone mentions golden ticket, you’re automatically gonna think of chocolate, right? *shrugs*
Huh, just me then *blushes*. Oookay, moving on... my analogy will make sense soon, trust me *smirks*
So, just like your favourite bar of chocolate, you savour each morsel until the very last bite as you don’t want it to be over.
This was me with Lovestrung. It was sweet, angsty, hot AF, and I didn’t want it to end.
Nothing hurts quite so good as unrequited love. Masochist, moi? *snorts*
There hasn’t been a day since Penelope “Pippa” Montgomery met Ethan Collins that she hasn’t loved him. She can even tell you the date and time, down to the very second, that that love became the ‘in-love’ kind. If only Ethan would really ‘see’ her...
Maybe her planned year of travelling will banish her longing for good - yeah, right? Puhlease, like that’s gonna happen.

sugary sweet ending. Now, I must confess in RL, I’m not the least bit romantic, but I was happy to need a filling for this ending, lol.
A certain someone felt the need to point out to me recently that the characters I read about aren’t real - harrumph...
My reply: for the time I inhabit their world, they are very real to me #Idonthaveissuesyoudo
Although Lovestrung is a standalone, I’d love to return to their world one day because:
1. I have an unanswered question - I’m keeping 0.5 star for that.
2. I’d love for Max to get a story #sorrynotsorry

Ahhhhhh! I love the new glow of reading a new to me author and just being completely surprised by what they bring to the table!
Karen Ferry has crafted such a great friends to lovers story. Ethan comes to Penelope/Pippa's family under terrible circumstances but the amazing bond between them as children was instant and it only grew over the years. Childhood, teenager years, to adulthood.
This is such a feel good story. And I love nothing more then to enjoy those tingly FEELS!! Pippa is such a likeable heroine, I loved everything about her and Ethan? Holy moly! He's got a mouth on him!
This is a steamy, sweet, funny, romantic and extremely HOT story that will leave you wanting more!

A feel good book, sweet, so swoony and « deliciously dirty ».
Lovestrung made me smile so freaking hard!

Lovestrung made me smile so freaking hard. I was expecting something light-hearted and so swoony but damn it was more. Like the feeling butterflies and all the things in between.
Pippa and Ethan… the freaking sigh! The author wrote such a beautiful story when you understood what it feels like to finally know what love is, about two people who had found each other so many years ago but never acting on it, especially on Ethan’s part.
From the moment they met, I could feel the attraction, connection and I adored the few glimpses of their part leading them right now, when adults they couldn’t fight about their feelings anymore. What drove me utterly crazy was all the unsaid things and how it would be something that might tore them apart.
The banter was smoking hot, foreplay on point, going from sugary sweet to explosive in a few seconds. So natural and engaging. I was afraid to see a heroine so in love and feeling like it was unrequited, to see someone a bit overshadowed by the hero charisma. And it wasn’t.
Pippa was so vibrant, enthusiastic and passionate and could definitely stand on her own. Trying to find her own way and place in this big world. She was such a beautiful surprise here. The kind of girl you want to be friend with. The thing is, being in love with her best friend might be her undoing. She didn’t seem desperate through. She was going to move on and following her dreams. I liked it a lot.
And Ethan… oh my! He made me swoon a lot. I appreciated his personality, a complex man who suffered and learning to protect himself after witnessing abuse in his childhood. I totally understood his choice for not letting Pippa go in the first place, giving her a chance to be herself, even if he had to break her heart. And when he was expressing his feelings, I was a bit speechless here, words that went straight to my heart. A romantic with a very naughty side. Just my kind of favorite fictional character. So damn sexy!
Their chemistry was so well written, electric love with this hint of tenderness that melt my heart. I appreciated that the characters had their own lives and having their own experiences before getting there, with great characters depths, finding their way as a couple but also as individuals. It was a bit more than meet the eye and I loved it.
Reading their story made me feel good and so happy. Of course, they drove me insane sometimes but it had the right amount of angst and drama, when they had to learn from each other, to trust each other. They might not be perfect and I was great to see them learning from their mistakes, continually moving on instead of dwelling on the past.
I’ve been rooting for them from the beginning! The ending was just so swoony and would definitely give you a toothache but I wouldn’t change it. Like a modern fairytale with a twist, romantic, sweet and so many things.
And I’m still smiling… just saying!

Ever since seeing the very first teaser/excerpt, I have been dying to read Lovestrung. Ferry's books are always full of emotion and beauty. I was super excited to get my hands on a copy and jumped into it immediately.
The prologue tugged at my heartstrings and pulled me right into things.
Chapter One ramped up the angst and from then on had me freaking out over their behavior towards one another.
Ferry always writes in an extraordinary fashion to make the reader get ALL the feels. As I read more and more, my emotions were completely all over the place. I was a bit worried that this book might truly destroy me before putting me back together again.
Watching Ethan and Penelope share their feelings and worry over them held me rapt. The writing was so perfect at capturing every emotion, every uncertainty that they felt. And the secrets sitting under the surface had me on edge as I awaited their inevitable exposure. I wanted it to be smooth sailing for them, but they still had so much to work through and learn about each other now that they were putting their feelings out into the open together and giving it a try.
Their feelings for and words of affection to one another were beautifully written. Even with the impending truths, their love for one another was raw and real.
This book was truly everything. I absolutely loved it and cannot wait to see and read what Ferry comes up with next. She is truly brilliant at capturing every emotion with her words.

These two characters are complete opposites: Pippa is more of a free spirit and Ethan is the silent, broody type which made for great banter. I loved the the push and pul. In the end they didn't have a choice but to give in.
The side characters were really well done! Love their dynamics, which made the story richer and so much fun!
Lovestrung is sexy and sweet, a perfect summer read!

To say that I’ve been looking forward to reading best friends to lovers’ story would be an understatement. Imagine the level of giddiness when Karen Ferry sent me an early copy of her beloved story!
Pippa/Penelope and Ethan’s story starts at a very early age, there’s no romantic feelings involved at first but their friendship blossoms through the years and Pippa start to long for something…more with the boy who understands her more than anyone.
Their bond is precious, almost unbreakable. But life is an adventure, one Penelope wants to follow, and they go their own ways.
You know the saying, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder”?
Well, you’ll have to read Lovestrung to know what happen between Pippa & Ethan when they meet again. Will sparks fly? Will they be able to fight whatever force that just draw them toward each other? Or is their story doomed to stay platonic?
This book is very different from what we’re used to coming from Karen Ferry. And she nails this new genre!
Lovestrung is a fast paced, mostly drama free, story. It’s sexy, it’s funny (I loved their banter and their friendship), Ethan is one romantic soul, I’m telling you this guy is such a sweetheart! And the fact that he can also be quite bossy… Perfect combo! But let me tell you what I loved best.
It’s Penelope’s character. Such a beautiful soul, and wonderful friend. She knew what she wanted and went after it, in all aspects of her live. I loved that she was straightforward and knew how and when to take charge. Basically, she’s the woman you want to meet and share a moment with!

Well, you’ll have to read Lovestrung to know what happen between Pippa & Ethan when they meet again. Will sparks fly? Will they be able to fight whatever force that just draw them toward each other? Or is their story doomed to stay platonic?
This book is very different from what we’re used to coming from Karen Ferry. And she nails this new genre!
Lovestrung is a fast paced, mostly drama free, story. It’s sexy, it’s funny (I loved their banter and their friendship), Ethan is one romantic soul, I’m telling you this guy is such a sweetheart! And the fact that he can also be quite bossy… Perfect combo! But let me tell you what I loved best.
It’s Penelope’s character. Such a beautiful soul, and wonderful friend. She knew what she wanted and went after it, in all aspects of her live. I loved that she was straightforward and knew how and when to take charge. Basically, she’s the woman you want to meet and share a moment with!

I do love a good old friends to lovers story on a lazy Sunday & Lovestrung by Karen Kerry, truly did hit the mark. It’s was sweet, sexy & a good bit sinful.
Pen & Ethan have been best friends since they were children when sad circumstances brought them together. Fast forward to adulthood, & neither have been able to escape their first crush, their first kiss or their first love. However with Ethan still unsure he’s worthy enough of the only girl he has ever loved & Pen scared senseless of the boy who has always held her heart rejecting her....again, it makes their journey all sorts of sexy & swoony, as I held my breath to see if these two gorgeous hearts would ever find their way home.. to each other.
What I loved about this book is that it was such easy reading. There wasn’t to much drama for drama’s sake, the angst was enough to keep me turning the pages & the characters themselves, as they grew into their own skin, were just gorgeous. I adored the flashbacks so much, they really helped me understand how their friendship came to be, how important they were in each other’s lives & just how deep the love they had for each other flowed.

I absolutely loved Lovestrung!!! Karen Ferry did an awesome job of weaving a friends to lovers story between Pippa and Ethan. Ethan comes to the Montgomery family under some pretty horrible circumstances, and an immediate bond develops between Pen/Pippa and Ethan, they are best friends for years, they have feelings for each other but Pen thinks he's out of reach, and Ethan doesn't believe he's good enough. Pen goes away to Europe for a year, and when she comes home the chemistry is just as explosive, or more so now that they are older. This book was HOT!!! Ethan...WOW!!! I absolutely loved Ethan, and I'm betting you will too!! Your Kindle will be on fire!! I am without a doubt recommending Lovestrung, I loved it, and I will be reading it again, that's how good it was!! Thank you Karen for writing such a fabulous book, and I can't wait to see what comes next!!

Ethan is thirteen and Pippa’s ten when he moves in. Already at such a young age she sees Ethan and the baggage he carries with him but she doesn’t push. She’s patient. The story has chapters from their past, their first meeting and important encounters, but it primarily focuses on the present. I liked that cause it’s necessary to understand why certain choices were made in the past.
Ethan is one sweet and caring man with Pippa and their family but when he gets Pippa alone all bets are off and his primal needs comes out. Their chemistry is poignant and combustible. Also Pippa doesn’t hold back but shows how much and deep her love for Ethan goes. The author tackles the all important question. I fell in love with Lovestrung from the very first chapter!! The fact that this was a sort of forbidden romance made it even BETTER.
I could feel it in my gut that I would've loved this book before I even read it. The cover and title hooked me in!!
Pippa and Ethan were both such FANTASTIC characters. You'd want Pippa to be your best friend and you'll swoon over Ethan. Wait until you find out why he has two different nicknames for Pipa. I'm swooning right now just thinking about it!! He even loved dogs!! *faints*
They weren't the only characters I've come to enjoy. The whole family and their dynamic put a smile on my face or stole laughs from me.
This is DEFINITELY a favorite of mine from Karen Ferry and HIGHLY recommend.

Lovestrung is my first time reading Karen Ferry, and I thoroughly enjoyed this witty, heartwarming and seriously steamy friends-to-lovers romance. Pippa and Ethan have a long and loyal friendship but explosive attraction and romantic feelings have complicated their comfortable dynamic. They find themselves gravitating to one another but also resisting the pull between them as they struggle to decide whether or not their relationship should evolve. Pippa has a thirst for adventure that will take her abroad for a year, and Ethan is haunted by a secret. Their path to happily ever after is a beautiful, feel-good journey that will steal your heart.

Penelope meets Ethan when she is ten years old when her parents foster him as a thirteen year old. She instantly feels an affinity for him as well as being sympathetic to the loss he feels, even though she does not really know much about his background. They form a close friendship over the next five years. Except Penelope feels more for Ethan than just friendship and she doesn’t want him to think of her in a brotherly way. It’s more than infatuation, Penelope knows in her heart of hearts she loves Ethan and that he is the only one for her. And Ethan? He just manages to keep Penelope at an arm’s length.

A wonderful best friends to lovers read! This story has Penelope and Ethan exploring their feelings and each other. *wink, wink* The writing is so good and the heat and passion is off the charts.
These two didn’t have a chance to begin their love story as teenagers, even though there were feelings on both sides. Ethan had his reasons for staying away, and denying his true feelings. I love that we got chapters set in the past, and got a bit of a glimpse into their younger days.
When it comes to their feelings, these two lay at all out there, and let each other know what they want. Except for one secret that could end their relationship before it fully has a chance. Penelope is a free spirit, and I love that she went off for a year of travel, but is still trying to figure what she wants to do career wise. Ethan is a guarded, sweet, sexy, sometimes cocky, with a tough past, with a side job I didn’t see coming. I enjoyed the way the storyline progressed and the outcome from the secret being revealed.
A love story, filled with emotion, and a touch of angst, and a lot of sexy! This story put a smile on my face and I was glad to see Ethan and Penelope find their happiness!

*heartfelt sigh* That's exactly what I did when I finished Lovestrung, a swoony, sexy, slow-burning best-friends-to-lovers romance that captured my heart and soul! Did I mention the SIZZLE??!! Uhmmmmm, yeah...this one has a good bit of steam, even if it's a slow burn!
I loved this dual POV and Ms. Ferry did an outstanding job going from the past to the present, filling in the backstory in such a way that you really feel like you know these amazing, lovable, strong and sassy (Pippa/Penelope) and broken, yet somehow Alpha (Ethan) characters that wrap around your heart.

Swoon. Anyways, this book was based in my home state with references to a place 25 minutes away from me so Karen Ferry gets major cool points for that. 😂
But seriously, the story of Pen and Ethan was absolutely lovely. I love their history and how you can slowly see the realization of their feelings develop through the story. Ethan puts so much effort into ignoring his feelings whereas Pen put so much effort into showing him how she felt. Once they gave in IT GOT HOT. Things got so steamy so quick, which I love. I’m a sucker for a good hot and heavy romance. My only “issue” is that there wasn’t more about his porn star side. And it would have been cool to see more of that included in their relationship. Other than that, I really didn’t have any issues and loved the story.
As usual, you killed it Karen. Thanks so much for giving me the opportunity to review your new baby!

I think this is one of the few friend to lovers book that I have read. I really enjoyed the storyline and premise. Ethan is drool worthy even though he has a past and some particular interests that don't really appeal to my personal preferences. Penelope was a character that I really connected with though. I enjoyed reading her POV and about her struggles. Her desire to explore and not settle with what she has always known is completely relatable. She lovesick heart over Ethan endears you toward where the story is headed and how it will play out.
Parts of the romance left something to be desired for me though. At some point I got tired of hearing "baby" and "darlin" in every adult situation, but that again is a personal preference. I also felt as though there were pieces I was missing in Ethan's character arc. It is there, but I felt there was something left me wanting more from him and his life choices.
If you enjoy the friends to lovers trope, you will enjoy this book simply because Penelope and Ethan's story is great.
