Two boys, one love – does Willow have the courage to follow her heart?
Willow has always been a good girl, working hard to make her mother proud. Staying within the rules of Gypsy culture has never been a problem, but Duke and his sweet smile make her question the arranged marriage that lies ahead.
Alessa Martel is the pen name of a mother-daughter writing team. They live in Northeast Ohio, where homework and a full-time job keep them busy, so they share story ideas late at night and weekends, usually while eating too many potato chips and catering to their cats.
You can read their sweet romances in Kindle Unlimited, and listen to them on Audible.
Short story. Everything happens in a matter of days. Nothing special for me. Few minutes of reading. Interesting concept though. Would have liked to read more about this culture. And bonus points for young author, keep writing!
I won't rate my own book (that doesn't seem fair!) but I'm very excited that my daughter (who is a high school sophomore) and I are finally getting these sweet contemporary romance short stories out! Willow is the first, and she is a very sweet girl just trying to make her mother proud of her. This hasn't been difficult in spite of the restraints of American Gypsy culture - until her former classmate Duke starts to pay attention to her. He is handsome, sincere, and respectful, but that might not be enough to please her mother.
This series will publish once a week starting June 20 with Willow, and is available now for preorder on Amazon for Kindle and Kindle Unlimited (99 cents and FREE).
This is a quick story that I read during my lunch break at work, and it was sweet. Willow is a girl who wants to make her mom happy and follow the rules, but she also has dreams of her own. I was happy to see her decide to assert herself and stand by her dreams for her future. The boy she didn't choose is in an upcoming story with another girl (his name is in the description on Amazon, and I noticed when I was preordering the stories, so I was like, hey, I wonder how he is after he was turned down by Willow, so I guess we'll see), which I thought was an interesting way to tie these stories together. He was a really good sport about not being the one Willow chooses, so I am glad he will have a chance to find a girlfriend, too.
