Smicksburg Amish Herb Shop #1

The Herbalist's Daughter Trilogy

Cassia Byler is a twenty-two year old Amish beauty that has the small town of Smicksburg, Pennsylvania baffled. She appears to be content not to court any man, only desiring to work alongside her dad in his herb shop. When pushed too hard to court Moses Weaver by the knitting circle she attends, Cassia reveals the truth; she’s been secretly engaged…to an Outsider. Not a baptized Amish member, she won’t be shunned, but when she sees her dear dad’s broken heart, will she break her engagement? Can she leave the Amish and the herb shop…and her dad?The Herbalist’s Daughter takes you on a journey with Cassia Byler as she goes from a selfish, impulsive young woman, to a valley of testing and trials. In the end, Cassia is a joyful Christian woman, having been changed by unconditional love. If you like Stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss, Emma by Jane Austen or North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell, you’ll be sure to enjoy The Herbalist’s Daughter. Discussion guides accompany each book along with Amish recipes.

Wonderful!

This wasn't just a nice romance. The message of our hope if we learn to wait on God was throughout the story. The author portrayed so well what love and marriage is meant to be. And, to find book group questions and the salvation message included were the cherry on top!

Very Good Read

I am so glad that all 3 stories about Cassia were in this one book. I thought all of the characters were realistic. I do recommend this trilogy.

Oh my goodness, where do I start? This was an awesome trilogy. Karen brought out the characters that you felt like you was one of the characters in the story.

My favorite character would be Cassia Byler, "The Herbalist's Daughter". She had the kindest heart but got her heart broken. Someone comes into her life to show her the true meaning of what the Bible teaches. As she learns more of God's Love she finds true love. Will this be her husband and her partner that she will be with for the rest of her life? Will she get baptized to become Amish like the faith of her loved ones?

Karen keeps this story going with laughter, tears, faith and inspiration. This is the first time reading Karen Anna Vogel novels and all I can say is , "give me more, give me more, on reading all her books as I can get my hands on." You cannot miss a book of her's so go grab The Herbalist's Daughter Complete Trilogy today.
