Maya A River Is a Drawing accompanies an exhibition of the same name, on view October 12, 2018 through January 20, 2019 at the Hudson River Museum. Featured in this groundbreaking exhibition, and illustrated in this catalog, is a series of new works and site-specific installations inspired by the Hudson River and installed throughout the Museum's campus. Foreword by Director Masha Turchinsky, with essays by artist Maya Lin, exhibition curator Miwako Tezuka, and art historian Peter Boswell.
Hudson River Museum catalogue of terrific exhibit. Artist Maya Lin is best known for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Excellent color plates of exhibition works. Professor Tesuka’s essay a bit esoteric for me and definitely aimed at art historians. The exhibition displayed several of Lin’s depictions of the Hudson River. She uses different medium such as pins, silver, glass beads, and metal tubing to create “sculptural” works that immerses the viewer in the landscape. I loved the exhibition. A visit to the Hudson River Museum is a treat as they definitely try to engage all audiences.
