Just bad. This was a weird, sloppy, choppy, badly written melodramatic book. Lots of time jumps and long winded back stories and very weird plot. He’s an illiterate ex con and she’s a secret princess from a made up place....like what? I can’t suspend my disbelief enough to get into this book. It’s just asking too much. Could not finish.

I absolutely loved this book...my heart broke many times for Zook. After learning his history made me just want to hug him. Cecelia was perfect for him. The chemistry jumped off the pages. Kudos to the author on a winning story with a twist

“Zook” is the second book in the Men of Siege series and another incredibly entertaining five star read. Cecilia is a sweet, beautiful, sheltered girl with a domineering father. Zook has just been released from prison for a crime he didn't commit and is hired as a construction worker by Cecilia's father. Although they are from entirely different walks of life there is an undeniable, sizzling chemistry between Zook and Cecilia. Cecilia is teaching Zook to read and after spending so much time together they begin to fall in love. Cecilia's family terrifies her and she knows that Zook's life is in danger if her father discovers their relationship. Can Cecilia and Zook overcome the insurmountable obstacles to reach their HEA? This intriguing, fast-paced read kept me totally engrossed from start to finish. If you're looking for a suspenseful, heart-wrenching, smooth flowing, page turning story you'll love “Zook”.

Zook just got out of jail, Tessa’s father was head of a cult and Zook was looking for his parents his old friend Tessa told him that she would help him look for them and while they were talking this woman was standing there listening and watching what was going on and she heard that Zook couldn’t read or write so she offered to tutor him. Zook felt like he deserved a second chance so he agreed to let Cecelia teach him the basics of reading but he only wanted her in bed so he would agree to anything she asks. Both are attracted to each other but Cecelia can’t go any further than a kiss with Zook because she is a princess from Veranisttaad and if she got close to anyone then Ivan would kill them and Cecelia was scared but she wouldn’t tell Zook. Wow this is such a suspenseful, heart rendering, dangerous sexy story I loved it, it’s a fantastic read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

I don’t usually write reviews on books (can’t waste the time when there are so many books to read!) 😁 However, this one was sent to me special-like, so I thought it only right and proper that I give my thoughts...

... I’ve loved the books in the series thus far; you’ve got the whole emotional rollercoaster in them, from the heartbreak to the joy. This book carries this ride on very well. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters I’ve met through the pages-not the bad guys obviously-but the ‘family’ this crowd is building is lovely to witness. I CANNOT wait for the rest of the series (I know I must, *sigh*).

Very well written, and very well received-thank you Bex 😘 Now... I need to try me some of this Boston Cream Cake!

Zook by Bex Dane a five-star read you would fight for. This is the second novel the Men of Siege series and these men are worth fighting for. Cecilia was such a great character, it was easy to see why Zook fell for her, but when you know her story and why she was so eager not to let herself become attached was so hard. This was a great story and even in the darkest moments Zook brought a great light to the story, he may be a simple man with his own dark story, but he really has got an inner light that will keep shining for many stories to come I hope.

This plot has it all, humor, witty, intrigue, action, suspense, twists and turns as well as steam and love. There is human trafficking discussed in this story and so that may be a trigger for some readers. This is a wonderful story and the author has done a wonderful job in writing it and keeping a fast pace throughout the entire book. The characters are well developed and for the most part are likable. Western romance has never been an interest of mine but over the last few months I have started to grow to really enjoy reading it and this is another book to add to the enjoyable read list.

This is the second book in the Men of Siege series, Zook and Cecelia have plenty of ghosts in their pasts that both need to deal with. But luckily their love is deep and true but unfortunately they are torn apart, can their love help them return to each other and overcome their problems.
This story is well-written and entertaining, plenty of drama and emotion, the characters are incredibly likable with loads of chemistry between them.

Absolutely fantastic! A well written emotionally deep romance. The storyline is flawless, funny, witty, enjoyable, and very interesting. Fight For Your Destiny

OMG what a fantastic read! The second book in this superb Men of Seige series is a fast paced, suspenseful read with a great storyline of haunting dark secrets, betrayal and lies. Perfect characters with a whole lot of love! I certainly need me an ex-con like Zook, like tomorrow please! A well deserved 5 star read by the wonderful Bex Dane.

When you first meet Zook you think he is a bad guy and I am so glad Bex gave him his own story. This book is about a lesson in fate and beating the odds when your life circumstance is against you. I love that Bex does not rush the story, she lets it build. What that means is you get to the know the characters, empathize and understand them. This book has action and love and the very best happy ending. This is one you won't want to miss!

This is the first book I have read from Bex. This was a very interesting book from beginning to end. Zook just got out of prison and wants to start over. He ends up meeting Cecelia. She is different than anyone he has ever met. She agrees to tutor him and things spark between them. But will her life come between them ? This was a great well written enjoyable book. I loved the characters and the chemistry. Can't wait to read more.

This story is different than the others, Zook finally gets his own story after serving 2 years in prison for rape. He lived in the cult with Tessa and they really liked each other. Her father and others forced Zook an teenager at the time to do things he didn't want to. Now he's trying to turn his life around. He meets Cece and she wants to tutor him, but all he wants is sex. Things get pretty twisted and secrets come out.

I loved Zooms story and how he fell in love with Cece. Never thought what her fears were and where the story was going but it's so believable. So many ups and downs, love and pain but it's all worth it. When you love like they do you'll do whatever to be together. Looking forward to book 3. Highly recommend reading.

Another Great Men of Siege book!
These men are worth fighting for!
Zook and Cecelia were great characters! They both have pasts that need to be dealt with. When problems pull them apart will they be able to overcome them?
This story was well written with great characters, plenty of drama, emotions and hot steamy sexiness!
I loved Zook and I eagerly await the next book in the Men of Siege series!
